Part 3: The KPop stan list

This segment starts out with a formatting error that I can't fix, because if I remove the oddly placed newlines in the first paragraph tumblr will refuse to save the draft. And if that isn't a sign for how cursed KPop was this year I don't know what is. Not even my favorite groups are safe from this curse.

Kiss Of Life is new to my favorites section and already on very thin ice. After how great a first year they had, the only way they could’ve not made the cut was by releasing nothing worthwhile at all in 2024. Still. Thin ice. I’m not sure how much I’d like “Midas Touch” if most other girl groups had performed it, but Kiss Of Life do it justice. It’s hard to describe what makes them so special, because a lot of it is just that the girls are great performers. They can sing, and they do so with attitude and flair. They’re fierce in a gerne that’s usually too clean to allow for that kind of expression, and damn is their music better off for it.

It’s sad then, that none of their other releases delivered on that. “Sticky” is boring, but to make up for that it came with the type of uncomfortable male-gazey video that I thought we’d left behind in 2nd gen. “Te Quiero” at least is a good B-side. “Get Loud” meanwhile never quite builds towards anything and ultimately falls flat, and no song stood out to me on the EP either. They get to stay in the favorites section purely on how much potential I see in them, but they have to deliver next year. Purple Kiss is also has to deliver, and do it soon, because as of now it seems like RBW has no idea what they want to do with this group. “BBB”, while not as bad as “memeM”, forgoes a proper chorus in favor of a repetitive and flat chant, which is a shame considering vocal flexes is the main selling point of this group, and RBW needs to remember that. They also need to remember that Purple Kiss had a unique visual identity too, and it wasn’t just generic girl group with unusually good color grading. The “BXX” EP at least is decent, with “Bitter Sweet” and “Toy Boy” both being better than the title track. Give it a bit more of that title track sparkle and “Bitter Sweet” could’ve been a far superior single. The other songs don’t stand out though, which is disappointing. Even the intro isn’t all that strong, and they usually always deliver on these. With two misses in a row, I was only hesitantly exited for their “Headway” EP, but thankfully, they delivered with this one. “On My Bike” is one of their strongest title tracks. A full song with ample opportunity for their strong vocal line to show off, and finally a proper last chorus. “Encore” is also a strong B-side. It’s not enough to make me stop worrying about their future releases though, and RBW really needs to step up their game. While I love “change” as a group identity that is an incredibly hard to pull off concept. Change too much, and the group has no identity, you need to have some recognizable core. For VIXX it was theatricality, SHINee inevitably returns to funky synth pop on every album, and SID cheated their way past the problem by being a Visual Kei band. And right now, Purple Kiss doesn’t have anything that ties their discography nor their visual presentation together. Speaking of messy images, look who’s in the favorites section. Yeah, I’ve given up. As KPop has grown internationally, it lost a lot of its charm to me. It’s gotten too clean, too marketable, too safe. But aespa brings back some of that campy appeal KPop used to have a decade ago, and I’m here for it. First of all, they had to do SM’s yearly remake again, since RIIZE…was too caught up in controversy at the time? We can only guess. Either way, I’m glad aespa got to do it again, and I enjoyed their version of “Regret Of The Times”. I think it’s a much better fit for them than “Dreams Come True” was. They also got another OST single I liked with “Die Trying”. Their first album “Armageddon” was a bit of a letdown though. Apart from the two title tracks I didn’t get much value out of it. The songs aren’t bad, but they aren’t standing out either. And nomen est omen sadly applies to their Japanese single “Hot Mess”, this song is unsalvageable. Luckily, “Whiplash” was better. The title track is too monotonous to live up to its name, but at least that one tone is a good one. And “Kill It” is one of their stronger B-sides too. Overall, they had a decent year, and at least managed to get through it without a major flop, unlike most of their peers.

ONF got out of the military without missing a beat, and while “Bye My Monster” is nowhere near my favorite title track of theirs I have to appreciate the effort. It can’t quite back up its own bombast, but it gets much closer than most recent attempts at reviving the 2.5 gen sound. The EP is also very solid, “Aphrodite” and “Slave To The Rhythm” especially. And since I have nothing to say about Dreamcatcher this time, WOODZ is in the military and VIXX is still MIA as expected (although Ken dropped a solo EP after Christmas which I like okay but will need a bit more time to ruminate on), that leaves only one KPop group. SHINee really wanted to make this year nerve wracking for Shawols, and I’m still reeling from the changes. Onew and Taemin are no longer under SM. Okay. As long as the group promotions work out that’s fine by me, and Onew deserves a chance to make a place of his own. I haven’t been big on anything Big Planet Made produced, so I’m not exactly exited for Taemin’s output with their producers, but then again, Taemin was never my favorite SHINee soloist. Minho resigning was never a question and to the people who don’t get why Key is staying with SM despite his litany of public complaints: Amazing Saturday is produced by a SM subsidiary. And besides, he’s won his battles and has as much creative control over his work as possible in a major label like SM. Unless SM is doing some really shitty things we don’t know about to him, staying there is easily his best option. Anyway, no group releases.

Minho was the first to give us a solo this time, and it’s…fine. “Stay For a Night” is perfectly serviceable for what it is, and I never expected anything more than that. That’s where I’m at with Minho’s solos in general. They’re fine. “Call Back” has a nice vibe and some cool moments, but mostly it’s just fine. I’m glad he gets to do this but I couldn’t care less about his music. Sadly, Taemin’s comeback confirmed all my apprehensions towards BPM. There is not a single song on the entire EP which I even considered downloading, and it’s the first SHINee release I didn’t feel the need to buy, not even for completionists’ sake. Some of it is bad, yes, but mostly, it’s just boring and adds nothing new to his discography.

Onew meanwhile seems to have struck gold with his new label, and “Flow” adds quite a lot to his discography. “beat drum” is such a fun and catchy title track, I wish it were longer. And that is really the one thing holding this entire EP back. Every song feels like Onew tried something new, and the vocals are stellar no matter what he tries (on “Maestro” especially), but none of the songs cross the three-minute mark. Still, it’s a much better and much more interesting release than Taemin’s, and it’s also a more experimental release than Key’s. How did we get here exactly???

Experimental or not, Key remains my favorite (active) SHINee soloist. That I like “Tonque Tied” even if it doesn’t do anything new speaks volumes in that regard. I didn’t expect “Pleasure Shop” to have a fun and innocent vibe, but I still like the song and music video. The one context in which using AI art is actually a reasonable thing to do is to make a point about how it has negative value. I don’t think we’ll be replacing Key with an AI any time soon. The EP is filled with gay club songs, which is exactly his playground. The problem, as with Taemin’s EP, is the “been there done that” feeling of it all. None of the B-sides add anything to his discography. I like “Overthink”, but what does it do that “CoolAs” didn’t already? And the rest of the EP just fades into the background from there, with “Novacaine” being the only exception, and not for the right reasons. I want to know whose idea it was to drown a vocal song in that damn autotune effect, it only detracts from what would otherwise be a standout B-side. The melody is good, the chorus is catchy, Key can put emotion into his singing, why was it produced like this??? Such a waste. So yeah, this was an awful year for KPop. Not even SHINee was able to deliver more than a few songs I regularly listened to. It shouldn’t be surprising then that KPop only makes a couple of appearances on my most played songs list this year. That is: exactly three in the top 20. An old Key song, an old Jonghyun song, and Stray Kids’ “Chk Chk Boom”. Half of the top 20 in general are old songs, including number one, which is my pick for SOTY 2023: King Gnu’s “SPECIALZ”.

as someone whos been in and out of the kpop sphere for well over 10yrs and witnessed 2nd gen -> 3rd gen and now -> 4th gen i know of no other music genre w a history so organized(?) i think it def comes from the insanely fast turnover rate of kpop groups; the 7 year curse is very real and i would argue most groups legacy and peak can usually be distilled into a few years

for example girls generations peak influence was prob from 2009-2013 (gee, genie, hoot, oh, the boys, igab) although theyve had hits outside of that obviously 2009-2013 was still the most profitable w their tours and japanese and american debut and the members started mostly doing solo activities after 2015 notably taeyeon debuted with I in 2015 [so far gd and taeyeon are the most notable kpop soloists w longevity oh hyuna too but hyuna always felt more solo than 4minute or wonder girls]

for big bang i would argue it 2007-2012 (starting w lies, haru haru, tonight and alive eps) although its a bit harder to nail down w big bangs notoriously long hiatus and g-dragon (2008-2014 heartbreaker, one of a kind, coup d’etat) plus taeyang’s (2010-2014 i need a girl, wedding dress, eyes lips nose) solo careers following a different trajectory and peak (2014 mama) arguable that MADE (2015) was their real peak before enlistment and after long hiatus

exo (2013-2017), twice (2015-2020~), shinee (2008-2013), 2NE1 (2009-2014), bts (2015-2020~) [i personally think bts peaked musically between skool luv affair and wings]

you can do this w any group the point is kpops insanely high turnover rate and the industry’s obsession with young and fresh faces makes it so longevity/artistic growth arent as valued as something new (there are an insane amount of rising groups rn ask whos the 4th gen leader on twitter and there will be violence) and kpop idols go into their careers knowing its not sustainable and most will pivot to acting, modeling, going solo, or something else and very few reach any mainstream or critical acclaim as a soloist from a group (big bang’s individual solo work early in their definitely made them stand out among bgs of that era as shinee also all went solo rather successfully they did so after shinee’s peak popularity) i think bts used a similar strategy when giving each member a solo song in wings. there also is always the one person that become the face and most popular eventually synonymous (suzy in miss a, zico in block b, cha eunwoo in astro, wonyoung in ive, hyuna in 4minute) etc. with the group brand thats probably not the idea for the rest of the group but it profitable and kpop companies typically arent too invested in their artists going solo if they wont be successful (contracts are usually only last 7 yrs) [new kpop idols should thank jyj (former tvxq/dbsk) and their lawsuit for korea fair trade commission’s 7 year limit for entertainment contracts; kris luhan tao also continued the sm tradition of sueing for worker’s rights] anyways idk what my point is here ive just been in the kpop meta for too long i feel old and wise but the message to all kpop fans esp new ones… its all capitalism <3 i know some groups self produce or wtv but its all for profit think about why youre buying 6 versions of the same album when you dont even have a cd player and if thats you than more power to you buying things is fun just remember kpop is not that deep bc its run by corporate overlords i’ll leave this with some potentially obscure older recs: a fool of tears - big bang, black hole - shinee, express 999 - girls’ generation, signal - f(x), dont flirt - winner [yg’s who is next was emotional damage produce101 before p101] , change - hyuna, mental breaker - block b (underrated rap line park kyung zico p.o. also from a meta sense bts and block b are very similar bts got a lot more success prob due to smart musical choices and marketing and a little luck

•Song That Got You Into K-Pop: Bae Bae by BigBang. I first clicked on Loser, I wasn’t feeling it completely but liked it enough to give them another chance so I clicked on Bae Bae, that one was on repeat for weeks. 

(Idk... I think I might seem like an older kpop fan but I got into kpop in 2015. I’m one of those people who when getting into sth they really dig further until the origin of a thing, especially when it comes to music. So I know a lot about 1st and 2nd gen too, and I am mainly a fan of 2nd and 3rd gen bc I’m more around the same age as late 2nd gen - 3rd gen kpop idols, we grew up around the same time so I relate to them the most. For reference I am 2 years younger than Gikwang (late 2nd gen) and Yongguk (early 3rd gen), same age as Ken (early 3rd gen) and Sunmi (late 2nd gen). I heard about Kpop before 2015 ofc but i was in an industrial/obscure electronic music fase before kpop)

my year of fic (2020)

I had a lapse in doing this, because the end of 2019 was just---a haze---but I thought it might be fun to try again on this, my first day off of 2021. Ignoring for a moment the armed sedition and the pandemic and the general feeling like the world’s about to spin upside down, I think it might be a good day. Let me try to feel some joy in writing, so that I might do some more writing this weekend. There’s a chance!

Per the AO3 stats tracker:

Total words written in 2020: 278,664 (Compared to 2019: 201,375 -- definite improvement!) That brings the overall AO3 published total to: 1,160,723. Jesus. I need another hobby, haha.

I’ll try to collect a year masterlist below, but let’s see what happened with stats first.

fic with most hits, which is not the same thing as best: no disguising truths i’ve sold -- y’all are fiends for the dadsex, just admit it. It always gives me a giggle how many hits these ones have with so few people actually interacting. :)

fic with most kudos, which I guess means people admitted they liked it: there will be better days -- which I guess isn’t a surprise, written when it was, but it’s still super gratifying to see that people enjoyed it. This one takes top spot for most of the other categories, too, so I’m going to go for the 2nd-placers on the next few...

fic with (2nd-)most comment threads, which I guess means people wanted to chat about it: In a Cursed Hour, which is a pleasant surprise! This is the very long gen (with sneaky pining!Dean), the first part of which was technically finished this year. I hope I come back to it at some point, because the story is... great, haha. Just super hard to write. Gratifying that people wanted to talk about it!

fic with (2nd-)most bookmarks, which I guess means people want to read it again: see things so much clearer -- aw, now that’s a nice surprise! This kinda felt like channeling old-school weecest, in some ways, so it’s cool that people seem to have enjoyed it.

This is a---strange one---started in 2019 before the haze, published finally in a bit of ignominy, still not read by the recipient I’m pretty sure because it’s fucking depressing, haha. But I’m kinda proud of it, or at least proud of myself for finishing it, so I guess it’s good that I spent this many words on it.

least popular fic, if we’re going by kudos: transference -- lol, that makes sense -- Umbrella Academy momcest? That said tho, it’s kinda fun and you should read it. Diego’s just the biggest mommy’s boy. Ahem.

The best thing writing-wise about this year was stretching into stuff I wouldn’t normally write, thanks to the charity drives. Maybe I’ll try to do that again this year; I’m sure something horrific will happen that will need some monetary support.

2020 Kpop Comeback and Debut Review

Okay, so this year was shit, let’s not lie. But there were some pretty good comebacks and debuts this year, and I want to talk about them. These are all in my opinion, so please don’t take any offense to what I have to say. Also, if there’s any group I missed (which I’m sure I’ll miss one), please feel free to discuss some of your favorite comebacks or debut tracks in my inbox ❤

I am going to break this down into sections just because it’s way too hard to sort through everything. So the categories are : favorite comebacks, favorite debuts, and favorite albums. Let’s get started! 

♡ Favorite Comebacks ♡

Everglow - “LaDiDa” 

For real, this comeback was everything. We got a full finally got a full chorus and Onda actually got lines!

Loona - “Why Not”, “So What”, “Voice” / “Star”

2020 was the year that turned me into an orbit. I’m so proud of Loona this year for releasing such amazing songs. They keep raising the bar, it makes me so proud to see them thriving. 

Chungha - all released singles 

Girl has been killing it, as usual. She’s worked so hard this year to release bop after bop. I can’t wait for the album! 

Apink - “Dumhdurum” 

Apink really said “we’re 2nd Gen and still going strong”

Twice - “I Can’t Stop Me”

Not their best comeback, but definitely a solid one. Also, it physically pains me not to dance along to this song. 

Itzy - “Wannabe”, “Not Shy”

Itzy never disappoints with their title tracks, what can I say? 

IZ*one - “Fiesta”, “Ayayaya”

“Ayayaya” was stuck in my head for weeks, plzz. It’s their best song ever released.  

April - “Lalalilala” 

AN UNDERRATED SONG OMG. April deserved better. 

Astro - “Bad Idea” 

Moonbin in a crop top, that’s all I have to say. 

Dreamcatcher - “Scream” 

I- this song was a masterpiece, the choreography was amazing. 

Weki Meki - “Dazzle Dazzle”, “Oopsy”

Weki Meki is really finding their sound, and every release just keeps getting better.

Enhyphen - “Given Taken”

Such a solid boy group debut omg. I love RnB tracks so much. It’s refreshing to hear a boy group debut with an RnB song instead of an EDM style track. 

Wonho - “Open Mind”, “Losing You”

this man is perfection in everything he does. I replayed the “Open Mind” teaser so many times, I’m obsessed with the instrumental. 

Weekly - “Tag Me” 

I’ve missed cute girl group concepts so much omg 

Natty - “Nineteen” 

This was another solid debut. She’s so cute and so talented, I’m really excited to see her grow as an artist. 

DPR Ian - “So Beautiful” 

I am in love with Christian Yu, this man is a musical genius. 

StayC - “So Bad” 

The pre-chorus is beautiful and the chorus is so catchy. 

♡ Favorite Albums ♡ 

NCT - all unit albums

You already knew NCT would be on the list. NCT keeps getting better and outdoing themselves with every release. I’m proud to be an NCTzen. I’m so proud of my babie boys 🥺

Baekhyun - “Delight” 

“Candy” was literally my third top song of the year. The choreography is so much fun and every track on this mini album blew me away. Baekhyun is so talented, I’m gonna miss him when he finally enlists. 

Kai - “Kai” 

Again, EXO members never disappoint with their solo releases. Kai delivered the RnB, sexy realness that I needed to finish off 2020. 

Ateez - “Fever”

Ateez. Never. Misses. They literally don’t have a bad song and it’s seriously annoying. Every song on this mini album hits so hard. 

Han Seungwoo - “Fame”

“Sacrifice” was my top song of the year. I love the different emotions and vibes that each song has on this album, sexy, cutesy, angsty, longing, sadness. 

Woodz - “Equal”

“Love Me Harder” was me second top song of the year, and Cho Seungyoun, I- you’re so talented. How? Again, another flawless album that conveys so many different emotions and vibes. 

Stray Kids - “In Life” 

Every track is amazing. Mr. Bang, you’ve out done yourself. There’s been some title tracks that SKZ have released in the past that I haven’t particularly been a fan of, but 2020 really made me fall back in love with their music. 

Taemin - “Never Gonna Dance Again : Act 2″

Last, but certainly not least, Mr. Lee Taemin. God himself. “Heaven”? That song needs to be like 10 hours longer because I can’t get enough of it. The power this man holds is too much.

BRUH LOL yes i do OOF i had one bias type then it branched off into two when i started stanning changkyun LMAO so sad HAHAHA

bias type a: pretty, angelic church boy (don’t ask... i’m not even religious lmao) vocalists (examples include: ukiss kevin, svt joshua, actor park bogum)

bias type b: deep-voiced, bad boy (?) rappers who KNOW they’re hot (examples include: mx changkyun, oneus leedo) 

i’m pretty sure there are probably more distinctions but those are the basics of my two completely opposite bias types LMAO to this day, i’m not sure how i went from kevin to changkyun LOL

8. Best friendship?

uhhhh idk what this means? LOL from context, i’m gonna guess best friendship among idols? in which case, i think monteen is definitely it LOL but i also adore svt’s and mx’s friendships within their respective groups as well like i believe all of them are soulmates and i just !!!!! love all of their dynamics. i also love love love ukiss’ friendship. those boys hang out with each other so much and so clearly love each other even tho they’re no longer in the same group ;u; basically i love my ults LMAO

19. Which member from Monsta X did you know first?

i think hyungwon?? bc of the memes LMAO or wonho bc of the fighter mv 😳honestly it’s kinda hard to tell bc when i started stanning svt, mx was always hovering in the background so i don’t even remember when i learned all their names? LOL but i would say one of those two 

26. Your opinion on aegyo?

I HATE IT LMAO i’ve always found it cringey and i usually can’t stand it bc usually it’s just secondhand embarrassment express. i think i’ve been desensitized now bc of how goddamn long i’ve been into kpop but i still am not the biggest fan. i think the only aegyo i can stand is jooheon’s (AEGYO KING) and woozi’s oppaya aegyo LOL other than that i’m like ....god why

39. Have you ever met an idol?

AHHHHH LOL yes i have, several times! i met ukiss back in 2014 and got to take a picture with them (which is in my header), and i met kevin again during his concert last year! i got to talk to him and hug him too and it was just AH AMAZING HE’S SO SWEET. i ALSO got to go to a hi-touch with 2AM back during kcon 2013 and i also got to go to a hi-touch with day6 in 2018 (i chickened out of greeting jae even tho i really wanted to go like HEY WE’RE FROM THE SAME HOMETOWN) i ALSO ALSO got to hi-touch with a.c.e last year and HARU JONGIL ALL DAY-ed with chan which was actually so fun! anyways i think that’s about all the times i’ve met an idol? which, now that i look at it, is a lot LOL 

43. How many groups can you name all the members of?

oh man there’s no way i can count the number of groups. basically i can name all 2nd gen kpop groups, a bunch of nugu groups during 2.5 gen/3rd gen, any groups that went on the unit, and a fair amount of groups in 3rd-4th gen. i think around like 2017 ish? i stopped paying as much attention to new groups bc i got busy with college so i’m pretty unfamiliar with people nowadays. but honestly if you’re curious just throw a random group at me and i can try my hand at it LOL (also i know more boy groups than girl groups sorry ;;)

oh god only 3?????? there’s too many omg. well i’ll put some that come immediately to mind (links are included!):

1. in the first official ukiss activity since hoon returned from the army, hoon hugged soohyun and then soohyun tried to kiss him in return on live broadcast, and jun just sat off to the side, covering his face bc he was too goddamn embarrassed LMAO (and then soohyun sulked on twitter later asking if hoon didn’t want to be kissed by him and hoon had to do damage control and say he did, he just got surprised LOL).... honestly ukiss is so wild i expected nothing less from them once they reunited haha (x)

2. seungkwan getting to live out his successful kissme dreams and dance bingeul bingeul (the song he auditioned with) with ukiss themselves. truly one of my favorite fanboy moments (x) (on a related note: i especially love this kissmecarat moment i technically started)

3. monsta x and btob cleopatra game. no words needed LMAO (x)

side note: i wanted to include a monteen moment but couldn’t figure out which i wanted so i went with mxtob instead LOL but a few runner-ups were svt fanboying bc of showho’s backs during the 2017 mama performance, svt dancing to shoot out during their fanmeeting, svt flooding the monteen group chat after mx’s 2018 mama performance, jooheon BAKSU, and mx reacting to svt’s hit LOL

Time travel rescue crossover fic; 11th Doctor x teen reader ft. Queen

Well guys this is it. After tomorrow I will be HOME FREE OF SCHOOL AND THEN GRADUATE AND LEAVE COLLEGE FOREVER NEXT THURS. So now that I FINALLY completed my assignments save for my final tomorrow, I can finally start posting some more stuff up. Now this series came from a wattpad request, and not only that but I’ve seen several time travel fic regarding Queen but this one is a little different, welcome to my 2nd crossover series and this one is based around.

DOCTOR WHO!!!  Yep and as mentioned in the title it takes place during the 11th gen. of the Raggedy Doctor. So in this fic it’s the ACTUAL band Queen, not the BoRhap boys being Queen. So some facts I’m pulling based off people posting facts through here and some knowledge I began to find myself. I was riding my bike through the streets of London which was packed with Christmas decorations.  Everyone scrambling around trying to do last minute shopping, I however had a different agenda.  I was going to meet a friend of mine that I promised I would meet.

I arrived off the corner of Kensington street and there I saw the famed blue police box.  I parked my bike just across from it and looked around to make sure no one was watching or coming towards this direction before finally hopping on in.

And once I stepped inside, I found myself in a place that looked bigger on the inside.  For you see this wasn’t any ordinary police box, this was the TARDIS, a time machine in English that was owned by none other than…..

“Ahh so good to see you’ve arrived on time (y/n).” Well speak of the devil.

“Don’t I always when it comes to you?” I said as I walked towards the raggedy old fool and hugged him.  A man known as The Doctor.

“How’s your nan doing?”

“She’s better.”

“I know she is, now that she don’t have to worry about you hanging around with those no gooders. Aren’t you glad I found you when I did?” To make a long story short, after both my parents were thrown in prison on various charges, my nana was the only legal guardian to take care of me.

Well by the time I reached 13, I was starting to follow down the same path as my parents.  A life of petty crime, mostly gang banging and some drugs.  That was until the Doctor came into my life when I was turned 14.  After a few time adventures with him, it got me to see that life really is too short.  So I left the gang life and tried to make things up with my nana and I’ve been clean and good for 2 years now.

It’s hard I’ll admit, especially trying to get away from the violence that I had been known in my gang.  Back with them they called me the ‘Tigress’ cause I showed no mercy when it comes to fighting, I could literally become a savage animal at the snap of a finger.

We hugged each other and he said.

“So what shall it be today?”

“Well…..” I pulled out my phone and opened up my Youtube playlist and went to the first channel that was labeled QUEEN concerts and I clicked the first link.  “Could I maybe tempt you into taking me back to a Queen concert? Specifically their Christmas Eve concert they did after the release of a Night at the Opera in 1975. I think next to the Live Aid performance, that’s my favorite concert of theirs.”

“Well as I once said I didn’t ever want to tamper with actual history. But it’s Christmas, the time for miracles. Maybe I could overlook this just once. Plus who could refuse a Queen concert?”

“Apparently most kids my age.”

“Alright so Christmas week 1975.” The Doctor went over to the control and flipped some switches and soon we were off.

However as we were traveling through time and space, there was a sudden jolt.  The lights flickered and I was knocked over towards the railing.

“What the hell was that?”

“I don’t know. We shouldn’t have hit something.” He activated a few buttons and turned on the monitors.  The look on his face turned pale with horror.

“What is it Doctor?”

“We picked up a straggler.” The TARDIS jolted again.

“Is there any way to shake it off? I mean what exactly has us?”

“I’m still trying to read into it’s vital signs but it’s cloaked itself good, even from this old girl.” Suddenly the doors opened and soon coming in was this figure.

It sorta looked human as it did have a human form but it’s skin was like a dolphin or a sharks, it had long claw-like nails with webbing between each finger.  It hissed at us and the Doctor quickly improvised and directed the TARDIS in a sudden right jolt.

The creature went towards the wall but it kept its eyes locked right on us.

“Doctor the doors!” I cried out.  He looked towards the doors to still see them open.

“Hang on and don’t let go whatever you do! Just hang on tight to the railing!” I nodded and he tried as best as he could through the wind of the time vortex we were still spinning through.  I kept my eyes on the Doctor unaware that the creature was slowly crawling up towards me.

Suddenly I felt this painful grip on my forearm and slowly claw down it.  I let out a cry and I turned to see the creature standing right before me.  It hissed at me revealing razor sharp teeth, it’s black soulless eyes staring deeply into mine.

“Doctor!” I cried out.  Then without warning, the creature dug its claws into the back of my hands and pushed me outward forcing me to fly out of the TARDIS, barely hearing the Doctor calling out my name.  Then I guess I must’ve blacked out because I couldn’t remember anything after that.

When I finally came back around, the first thing I felt was cold and something wet.  When I slowly opened my eyes, I saw nothing but white powder in front of me, as well as flakes falling onto my face.

Slowly I got up and found myself in London, or at least I hoped it was.

“Doctor? Doctor!?” I called out.  I looked down at my hands to see they had indented claw marks and were bleeding.  As a wind chill blew across me, I began shivering and I walked out of the alleyway to see people walking along the streets with shopping bags.

‘Okay so I know I’m on Earth, or at least I think I am. But when exactly am I?’ I thought to myself.  I thought if I kept walking then maybe I could find a store or something to shed some light on where and when I am.

I walked along and I could see Big Ben as well as the London eye, okay so I am in London. And based on the fashion choices that I saw people walk by in, I could be in the 70’s.  Finally I reached a newspaper stand and I quickly grabbed a newspaper and read the date.

December 19th, 1975.  Okay so I was one day and 44 years into the past, thank god for that at least.  I mean I could’ve landed somewhere far worse.  But what happened to the Doctor? And just what was that thing that attacked us? As I went to turn around I bumped into someone.

“Sorry I—I was looking where I was…..”

“No problem love, it was an accident.” That voice it—it couldn’t be.  I looked up and the first thing I see are those entrancing blue eyes and long golden hair that shined like the sun.

“You’re—you’re……” I was completely starstruck because standing right before me was none other than Roger Taylor.

“Roger Taylor? Yes, I’m going to assume you’re a fan of Queen?” I softly nodded.  Oh my god I can’t believe that I’m standing in front of the Roger Taylor.

I mean—it was because of him I became interested in the drums.  Shortly after I left the gang life behind; since I had always been a Queen fan since childhood, my nana bought me my first ever drumkit after my six months of being clean of the violent outbursts.  She thought I could do have a better outlook banging the drums instead of banging with another gang.

His style of drumming has always fascinated me and sometimes I would try to copy some of his solos as best I could, and I’ll say that I’m a pretty decent drummer but I’ll never be up to his level of drumming.

“Well since you seem to know my name, may I know yours?”

“Uhh (y)—(y/n).”

“It’s nice to meet you (y/n).” he held out his hand for me to take.  I was nervous to take his hand but I didn’t want him to think that I was a bitch. Hopefully the bleeding has stopped, so I reached out and I took his hand.  Unfortunately he immediately noticed the blood.  “(Y/n)….what happened to your hand?”

“Oh well I—I was…..a cat scratched me.”

“These don’t look like any cat scratches I know. And believe me Freddie has over 7 and I’ve been scratched by almost all of them at some point in time.” He then tucked some hair away from my face and he continued, “Be honest love, I won’t judge you but I need to know. Did—did some arsehole…..assault you?” Well to a degree but not in the way he was implying, but how do you tell your idol that? So to kinda put him at ease I whipped up a quick excuse.

“Well…..I—they just came out of nowhere…. I-I-I tried to stop them but they…..”

“Ohh you poor thing,” he cooed as he gently embraced me.  “Come with me. I can help heal those scratches and make you a warm cuppa, eh?” I nodded and he then guided me towards the Hammersmith Odeon.

When we got there, I’ll be honest that I couldn’t believe that I was in the actual Hammersmith Odeon theater.  Cause back—well forward in my time it’s called the Hammersmith Apollo and it’s mostly shown dance acts, and live performances for comedians.

“First aid’s in the dressing room. That’s the last known place I know it was at when Fred was dealing with some blisters the other day.” He guided me towards backstage and I saw dozens of roadies and other volunteers and workers getting ready for sound checks, probably for a rehearsal.  “Here we are.”

Roger opened the door and guided me inside. Already I saw four sections of the big dressing room where each band member got ready.  I saw from the photo of Veronica holding baby Robert that the section I was standing near was Deacy’s corner.

Just ahead where the red special was and what appeared to be an astronomy book was Brian’s place.  And of course the one where dozens of cat pictures along with the beautiful Mary Austin’s picture was Freddie’s.

“Okay let’s see; first aid, first aid, first aid.” Roger muttered as he went through Freddie’s side.  Lifting up various music sheets, journals and drawers. “Damnit Fred where the bloody hell did you put it—Ah-ha there you are!” He then pulled out an old school style first aid kit. “Right have a seat over here love.”

“I—I don’t know. I mean am I even allowed to be in here?”

“No not really but this is an emergency. So come on, sit. I don’t bite.” Cautiously I walked further in the dressing room and sat down in Freddie’s seat. “Okay let’s see here, we’ll need antiseptic cream, and…bandages.”  He took out the cream first and he told me to show him my hands.

He then began to doctor up both my hands, but just before he put the first aid kit away, he noticed that my right sleeve was stained with blood.  He carefully rolled it up and that’s when I saw the four long scratches that went from just an inch or two below my elbow to my wrist.

“Oh my god love. I—I’ve never seen a weapon do something like this, what did they use?”

“I—I couldn’t see what it was. Is it bad?”

“I don’t think so. But let me go a bowl of water, and a couple of towels to see what we’re dealing with here. Blood always makes things seem worse than what they are. Just stay here for a moment okay?” I nodded and he smiled at me before exiting the dressing room.

Once he came back with items, he set them down on the table and gently guided my arm over the bowl and dipped one of the towel into the water.  He wrung it out and slowly began dabbing away the blood.  I hissed on occasion and with each hissed, he apologized.  Once the blood was cleared away, he dabbed the dry towel over my wet forearm before carefully observing it.

“Well they don’t look too deep for stitches, otherwise we’d need to call the hospital.”

“Yeah, thank god.” I was grateful for that because I won’t even be born until 30 years from now so there’s no way any hospital would have my records.

“Hey (y/n), if you don’t mind me asking, what exactly happened?”

“It—it’s honestly a blur to me Roger. I was—just minding my business with a friend of mine then next thing I knew we got jumped and….oh shit my friend he….he doesn’t know where I am! I-I have to find him!”

“Hey, hey, hey, hey (y/n), (y/n) calm down. Deep breaths for me.” He gently calmed me down and got me to take a few deep breaths. Man, who would’ve thought the Roger Taylor would be the one comforting me during a freak out episode.

“Sorry.” I muttered.

“No, no don’t apologize at all. Look let’s get you healed up first, and then we can think about finding your friend, alright?” I nodded and he said as he gently cupped the side of my face and gingerly thumbed across my cheek “Atta girl.”  Suddenly the door opened and a voice said.

“Whoa were we interrupting anything here my darlings?” Oh my god—no way. It was him, it was really him.  Freddie Fucking Mercury. Vibrant and young Freddie Mercury. Alongside him I saw Brian May to his left and John Deacon was to the right.

“No not at all guys.”

“Whose this?” asked Brian.

“This is (y/n). I found her—well actually she ran into me while I was at the newsstand. Shortly after she got jumped by some thugs.”

“Oh you poor darling!” Freddie cooed as he raced up towards me. “Who were the bastards that did this to you? You give me descriptions and I’ll fucking murder them!”

Aww, I can’t believe that after just meeting me not even 10 seconds, Freddie’s already wanting to defend my honor and beat up the fake thugs that did this to me.  All those interviews of people calling Freddie nice, seeing it with my own eyes, they weren’t even close to describing Freddie’s kindness and loyalty.

“It’s alright Freddie, there’s no need for you to go to jail for assault.”

“Well fuck that! Anyone who gangs up on a girl like that deserves to have their arses beaten.” Can’t argue with him on that. Suddenly I felt the stinging sensation of the antiseptic cream go onto my scratches.

“Sorry love.” Roger apologized.

“It’s—alright.”

“Roger give the girl fair warning next time!” Freddie exclaimed.

“Would you like anything to drink (y/n)? Water? Tea?” asked Deacy.

“Well Roger was gonna offer me a warm cuppa.”

“How about a hot chocolate instead. After a night that you had, why not take something a little warmer. Plus nothing cures trauma better than chocolate.” Deacy offered.

“Okay, I can go for a hot chocolate.”

“Coming right up.”

“Lucky duckie. Deacy dear makes the best cup of hot chocolate ever.” Freddie told me.

“Sneaky bastard won’t let us in on how he makes it!” Roger called out.

“Because you lot don’t deserve to know!” Deacy called back as he peeked back in the room before heading back down the hallway to make my hot chocolate.

“Right, time for the bandages.” Roger said.

“Here Rog, I’ll take care of that.” Brian stepped forward and took over the doctoring.  My god if you had told me three years ago that I would be getting doctored by Brian May and Roger Taylor, be served hot chocolate handmade by John Deacon and having Freddie Mercury rub your back comfortingly as your being doctored by the.

I would’ve told you, you were crazy.

As Brian began wrapping my arm up, he looked up at me and asked.

“Too tight?”

“No, no it’s fine.” I assured him.  He softly smiled and kept wrapping my arm up till it covered up the last of my scratches.

“There all done.”

“Thank you Brian.”

“You’re welcome (y/n).” he said with that warm smile of his.  It was then Deacy came walking in with a cup of hot chocolate.

“Here you go (y/n), I just took it out of the microwave so be careful.” I took the cup between my hands and allowed the hot mug to warm up my cold, numbing hands.  I blew on it before taking a light sip.

Holy shit the guys weren’t kidding. I mean at first my nana’s hot chocolate was always the best but now I’m starting to think Deacy’s overpowers my nana’s special recipe.

“Oh my god, this is so good.”

“Glad you like it dear.”

“I mean—I think you just kicked my nana’s famed recipe out the window.”

“Well I mean no disrespect to your nana.” Deacy said apologetically.

“No, no, no hell if she were here, she’d be wanting to get your recipe herself.” Deacy smiled that sweet, eye crinkled smile as he softly chuckled.

“Not only the best bass player we could find but also the best hot chocolate maker we could ask for.” Freddie praised as he placed an arm around Deacy’s neck.  Aww my god I can’t believe I’m witnessing firsthand of the bond these two shared. No wonder why Deacy left after Freddie died.

“Oh stop it you old tart.”

“Ahh Brian! Deacy’s using those dirty words again!” Freddie whined out.

“Hey lads, the manager’s closing up the stadium for the night if you all are done for the night.” Queen’s future manager Jim Beach came into the dressing room.

“Thank you Miami.” Freddie said.

“Do you have a place to stay tonight (y/n)?” asked Brian.

“Uhh well I—”

“Yes. As we were on our way here I told her that she could stay with me for tonight. Just in case those thugs try and find her again.” Roger spoke as he wrapped an arm around me.  I looked to Roger and he looked down at me assuringly and winked at me.

“Well then let’s get a move on. I’d rather not be locked up in here over night.” Deacy said.

“Well said Deacy. Not like back in Atlanta eh?” Freddie teased.

“I thought we vowed to never talk about that!” Deacy snapped.  As the guys walked on ahead, Roger and I lagged behind and I asked him.

“You sure it’s okay for me to stay with you?”

“Yeah. I’ve got an extra bed in my room. Plus I don’t want you to be out in the streets in the middle of winter.”

“Thanks Roger. But what will I do about clothes?”

“I’ll let you borrow some small clothes as pajamas for tonight. Then tomorrow Freddie and I can help you shop for some clothes. Maybe we can also find that friend of yours.” I smiled softly and said.

“I—don’t know what to say.”

“Say nothing, c’mon let’s get back to the hotel and into bed. You’ve had a long night and look like you could use some rest.” We then got into the car and the driver drove the five of us back to the hotel. Roger guided me towards his room and using his key, he allowed me in first.

It was a pretty big sized room with two beds as he said, a small telly and a closet.  Roger went inside and muttered to himself before finally pulling out a plain black t-shirt and some sweats.

“Here, these are too small for me, hopefully they’ll do you some good. The loo’s just over there.” He pointed towards the jointed room beside the bed farthest from the window.  I walked inside of it and changed out of my clothes and into Roger’s old stuff.

The pants were obviously a little too long but the shirt fit snug around me.  I then went over to the mirror and looked down at my bandaged arm.

“Oh Doctor, I hope you’re alright. Where—whenever you are.” I don’t know what that thing was that attacked but I prayed that he was alright and somehow managed to lose it.

“(Y/n)? You okay in there?” I heard Roger’s voice say.

“Yeah, yeah Roger I’m good.” I then stepped out of the loo and Roger looked me over.

“Not bad, I’ll give the pants a trim so that they’re not dragging across the floor tomorrow. Then tomorrow when Freddie and I take you out, we’ll get you some clothes that will fit you.”

“Do you think he’ll want to join us?” I asked

“Absolutely. Besides he looks for any excuse to shop and he’s better at picking clothes than me. I just pick what matches based off of fabric, damn eyesight.”  That I did know for a fact.  But I chose to act like I didn’t know that fact.

“Thanks again for all that you’ve done for me tonight.”

“Again love, no thanks are necessary. I just hope your friend didn’t get into the squabble you were in.”

“I hope so too.” I muttered before letting out a long yawn.  Roger softly chuckled.

“It’s getting late, why don’t you get some sleep?” I nodded and walked over to the bed that was closest to the radiator.  I tucked myself in and almost immediately fell asleep on the old, lumpy mattress.

*Roger’s POV*

Even though she had taken my bed next to the radiator, I didn’t have the heart to move her.  After the night she’s been through, she deserved to have as much comfort as possible.  

After taking my nightly shower and changing into my pajamas I looked over at (y/n) hoping that we would find her friend in good health, cause if (y/n) managed to get away with scratches like those, then I pray her friend’s not worse.

Ash’s Pokemon: XY

Here we are~ The first season of Kalos!~ It's hard to believe that this gen is already 6 years old now. Even harder to believe it's twice as old as when I first started these. So now that all the hype has died down is the XY anime as good as we thought!~ Well, yes and no? It still has all those episodes you've seen a bunch like the haunted house episode or the "Ash loses to a trainer and learns he actually needs to train his Pokemon" episode, some of which (like that 2nd one) can be really annoying. But on the flip side, the art style is much more pleasing, the characters are more well written, And the battle choreography,

The poses and angles used as well as the pacing and flow of the battles just, destroy anything that had been in the show up to this point. If I were to pick the season's biggest flaw so far, I'd say it's, and this will shock everyone, the gym battles. I'm not joking, every single one of these first 3 gyms has one major flaw in it. The first Viola fight that he lost, was terrible, like, I would have expected to see that in Best Wishes terrible. I wouldn't be surprised if that was a lot of people's last episode before they quit watching the XY anime. I know first gym leaders aren't as weak in the anime as in the games, but when her 2 Pokemon are Water and Flying type, you need a much better reason for Pikachu to lose than "The floor was icy and slippery" when Pikachu has fought on Ice battle fields before and in this battle

did not once slip on the ice!

The Grant battle had a lesser case of the Virbank Gym's problem from last gen, having Ash use 3 Pokemon to beat Grant's 2. And lastly the Korrina fight, where Ash spends a solid 5 minutes of the episode bumbling around trying to get Tierno's strategy to work for him before eventually giving up. That isn't to say the gym battles were bad (except for the unsuccessful attempt for Viola) but those were some far heavier flaws than I was ready for. The Grant fight despite being uneven is more being mean to Fletchling than anything else, since that, well, went about as well as you'd expect with a flying type in a Rock gym, making it mostly 2v2 anyways, and the weird Tierno strategy in the Korrina fight is just an awkward intro to an otherwise amazing fight. Altho the negatives of the failed Viola fight outweigh the positives of the successful attempt, as I can't even remember the latter over the former X3 But other than that it was just as good as I remembered. The better character writing makes the retreaded storylines more interesting and enjoyable. Also, I know a lot of people have an opinion of "The SM anime is Best Wishes 2, and Ash's skill as a trainer isn't that great like in Unova" let's compare the first 3 gyms in Kalos to the first 3 Kahuna battles in Alola:

So first, you may be asking, especially if you've never watched the XY anime, the hells a Clemontic Gear? And to that I say there's a running gag in the anime where Clemont would always have all kinds of inventions he shows off that inevitably blow up in the end. Pretty much the replacement for the Brock hitting on girls gag, except with far more variety, and frequently actually helps the gang with their troubles. And this counter is how many of his inventions DON'T blow up!~ I haven't had one of these silly side counters since, I think Hoenn? And I thought this would be a fun thing to do~ Pikachu claims one of the first Mega wins, which I believe is the last til the XY&Z season, where we get a ton of em. Pikachu also sets a new record, most battles in a regular length season. Less than the first season, but the first season was an incredibly long 83 episodes long. This season is 49 episodes long, you could literally add the entirety of the Sinnoh League Victors season to this one and that would make it match the first season's episode count. (If you add Pikachu's battles for that season to this season that makes 50, compared to Indigo League's 48, even further proving my point!). To the surprise of no one, Froakie enters the fray with a win rate of 78%, making him Ash's Pokemon with the 5th highest win rate. This could go down but it's a good sign of things to come! Fletchling got hardcore bullied until it evolved. The episode before it evolved he had 4 battles 1 win for a 20% win rate. Thankfully, in the episode he evolved he won a double battle and the battle that made him evolve, bringing him to 4/8, and he kept that 50% til the end. Nothing spectacular to say about Hawlucha tho, other than the fact that I think he's the only pokmon Ash caught that didn't get a loss from his battle to be caught (of the pokemon that actually battled) since he and Froakie actually tied. TimKon Week 2020 Day 2: What was I expecting?

Summary:   What was Tim expecting from his parents exactly? At this point nothing. Still he had hoped.

I wanted to write more but I don't have the time and honestly my wrists are hurt so I can't write much without hurting. I tried to give it a cute open ending cause I don't like Angst without fluff.

Tim couldn’t believe it. It had happened again.

He shouldn’t be surprised. Well he wasn’t actually surprised. He had expected it, but he had still hoped it wouldn’t happen.

His parents had forgotten they were supposed to come and get him for the weekend. They were supposed to come back from…wherever it was they were supposed to be. Last he checked they were in Dubai but they could have gone around the world three times by now.

It’s just that…they had actually tried to plan this. They had planned the time they should be there after getting off the plane. Usually that’s how he knows he’s gonna actually spend the weekend with his parents. It has never been foolproof as they had cancelled even some of those plans before. But it was fairly rare.

And all the members of the Wayne family made plans because he told them his parents were definitely going to be there. Even Alfred was going to be too busy for him. Everyone else’s parents had come to get them for the Weekend as the school usually frowned upon keeping the students there at this time of the week. Tim was the only one who sometimes stayed there in cases like this. Most of the time when they said they were coming Tim planned ahead to go to Dick’s or Bruce’s, sometimes even Barbara’s or Jason’s. He had met them because once his parents had taken him to a Wayne Gala and gotten sick so he stayed with Alfred while they were being taken care of.

He had already started going to the all-boys boarding school he was currently in back then and they already had the rule about kids going home on the weekend and during the holidays. So he went back home to their Penthouse within Gotham on his own and….well he was pretty reckless and often went on his own without realizing that his clothes were basically criminal bait. Luckily for him Jason Todd had been nearby and helped him out before taking him to Wayne Manor after hearing about his parents.

Which is how he met Dick Grayson for the first time. Well 2nd time really but Dick’s memories of their meeting had mostly been overtaken by a more tragic memory. After that he was often invited to the manor and the Waynes became more his family than his on ever was.

Point was, neither of his families was available and that meant he would probably spend his weekend on his laptop or reading comic books. The only people present at school beside him were the principal and the cleaning staff so as long as he didn’t cross path with any of them he was free to do pretty much anything he wanted.

Which is why he decided to go out to the nearby skate park in order to work on some tricks.

And that’s when he saw Cassie. She was a good friend of his because his dad was a huge archeology afficionado and her mom was a fairly well-known archeologist and museum curator. They had known each other for a while but had only let their kids meet the year before but even so Cassie was probably one of his best friends nonetheless. It was pretty rare for her to be around Gotham and usually her mom and her stayed close to whichever museum Helena Sandsmark was working. So her being here was very surprising. What was even more surprising was that she was accompanied by a pretty buff and good looking guy.

He only realized he might have been interrupting something after hailing her but then he figured what was done was done and he saw her rarely anyway so he wasn’t going to waste his time.

Cassie didn’t seem that bothered even if she did glare at him for 0.2s. Hopefully she was too happy to see him to be mad. The guy next to her didn’t even try to hide his pouting though. Neither from Tim nor from Cassie herself.

When Tim arrived next to them however, the guy seemed to try and let go of his annoyance but as Cassie hugged him, it came back with a vengeance.

Cassie turned to the boy with a big smile and, Tim might be a bit petty since he had never actually been interested in Cassie romantically, but he was pretty damn happy to be responsible for that kind of smile on her face.

“Conner, meet my best guy friend, Tim. Tim, this is Conner, he’s the younger brother of Clark Kent and since he had to interview my mom nearby we left them and wandered around.”

Tim smiled slightly as Conner’s shoulders relaxed, no longer threatened by the idea of a possible rival. They shook hands and Conner suddenly started to seem slightly awkward as they exchanged “Nice to meet you”s. Tim could feel his cheeks warm a little under the other guy’s gaze.

“But Tim, your place is in Gotham so what are you doing here?”

And now Tim had a hard time looking away from that guy’s arms. He had met Clark Kent before and both had a similar build so it wasn’t that surprising. It did not make it any easier though. Still he managed to do so within a timeframe that wouldn’t be too damning.

“My school’s 5 minutes away so I came here to work on some tricks”

He showed them his skateboard to prove his point. This surprised both teenagers but Conner was the first one to address it.

“But it’s noon on a Saturday and we’re fairly far from Gotham.”

“My school’s a boarding school so it’s not an issue.”

“What is an issue, Cassie interrupted, with a suspicious look, is that I thought your school didn’t let students stay for the weekend”.

Tim startled a bit. Cassie knew how things were with his parents. She tended to be quite annoyed every time she had to speak with them because of that. No matter how many times he told her it was perfectly understandable for them to be so busy. Actually it tended to annoy her more so he didn’t bring it up if he could help it anymore.

Conner seemed to notice something was wrong with Cassie so he turned to Tim whose cheeks warmed up again.

“Does that mean that you’ve got some free time to be a tour guide?”

“I’d love to but I’m afraid I mostly know the school grounds and it’s forbidden to go there. I only knew about this ‘cause I saw it through the window of my dad’s car. But I can teach you skateboarding."

Conner was all for it and the three of them shared Tim’s skateboard for the rest of the afternoon. Before they parted ways, Conner invited him for lunch with his dad, his best friend, Cassie and her mom while she pouted because she wanted to do it. Apparently his best friend, Bart, hadn’t been able to come because he was grounded but he would join them in the morning.

So Tim went home, well…to his school which, since he had been there for the past 5 years, was pretty much his home. He ate in the kitchen with the principal which was spent chatting amicably. For all the recklessness Tim could show, he tended to listen to authority as much as he could so he wouldn’t get in trouble. He didn’t want to get negative attention from his parents and he didn’t want to be on the staff’s radar negatively or they’d just always survey him. He also just generally liked to talk to people, he liked the attention and wasn’t gonna relish it unless he was forced to. Despite his awkwardness Tim knew he could be pretty charming.

When he went back to his room he looked at his phone he had left charging. There were two missed calls from his parents not even an hour before. There was one message.

Sorry can’t make it something came up but we will next time. Love You baby.

Tim looked at hit for a good five minutes before replying.

Don’t worry Cassie was there because her mom was interviewed nearby. Met one of her acquaintances. it was fun. Love you too

Tim was tired. Seeing Cassie always reminded him that unlike Helena who had put her archeology career on hold to raise Cassie until she was old enough to handle being on her own and even then checked in with her regularly, his own parents, even if they loved him, loved traveling even more. Maybe that’s why she was always mad at them. She realized that too. Not that he’d admit it out loud. He didn’t want to focus on the negative part of his non existing relationship with his parents. He never even came out to them. Not because he feared their reactions but because they just….weren’t there enough for him to share that part of his life. And he lived in an all-boy school. It didn’t take him long to realize he was attracted to guys like he was attracted to girls and he was hardly the only one.

He wasn’t sure he wanted to go to that lunch the next day. Being faced with parents who actually take their family with them when they go somewhere wasn’t the most fun. But if he managed to get past that he would probably enjoy it. So he tried to try thinking of more positive things. Like seeing Cassie again, and seeing that really, really good looking guy.

Now that was a nice thought. Granted the guy had seemed interested in Cassie at first. Oh Well. He was still nice eye candy. Turns out he couldn’t wait for tomorrow.

AN2: Tim is 17 here. We know from his origin story he started boarding school when he was 12 but Bruce took him out and put him in a normal school when his parents were attacked by the Obeah ManFor the first time ever, Kon is the first one to hit on Cassie. He's mostly doing it 'cause he likes the attention tho. Cassie's gonna be mad at Tim for like...10s, be extremely petty, have Cissie or someone else tell her she's overexaggerating and then admit her friends are perfect for each other and hug them tight (and give the shovel talk to Kon even tho he doesn't deserve it).Kon is actually Clark's kid but he was very young and broke up with his gf before either knew about the pregnancy. She didn't tell him until Kon was like 3yo. Anyway Clark wasn't ready nor wanted the responsability so Ma and Pa said they adopted him from Clark's biological parents. Kon figured out years ago even if he didn't tell anybody. At first he wondered why Clark wouldn't want him when he's perfectly fine having Jon. He realized things weren't that simple but it's still hard.The Waynes are:

Alfred and Bruce ofc.

Dick, Jason and Cass are all adopted. They have a similar backstory but without the vigilante part.

Thalia and Bruce were actually in love but broke up before either knew she was pregnant. Damian is much more adjusted without the whole Assassins stuff. He and Tim actually get along fairly well.

Cass is still one of Tim's favorite. She's currently dating his ex gf Stephanie Brown.

5. Which fandoms have your written fanfiction for?

I have never been a superly monofannish person, and I have written for a fair number of fandoms, but discounting fandoms that I was assigned for fic exchanges I have written for Gundam Wing, Fullmetal Alchemist, Escaflowne, Mighty Ducks, Inuyasha, City Hunter, Dawson’s Creek, Avatar the Last Airbender, Sailor Moon, Ouran High School Host Club, Eureka Seven, Steven King’s IT/IT (2017), V (2009) and due to my one lone Beronica Fic, I guess you can say I have technically written for Riverdale. About a month ago I orphaned a lot of my older works because they had become a bit incongruous with what I want attached to my name, so not all of those fandoms are still present on my AO3.

Fandoms that I’ve written exclusively for Yuletide as my main assignment are:  Soul Eater, Diana Wynne Jones’ Archer’s Goon, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, Claymore, Drive Me Crazy, and Notting Hill.

8. How did you get involved in your latest fandom?

Well this is a fun story, but it is sort of a set of factors that brought me to watch an old 90s teen soap opera in this the year of 2018/2019. I should start by saying back when I was a part of the actual target demo for teen shows I only watch Buffy and didn’t deign to watch any of those other inferior teen shows and actually counted not being a weekly viewer of Dawson’s Creek as a point of pride. (It was very much one of those “I’m not like those other girls” nonsense attitudes, oh bb!Kristen you stupid, stupid girl). I did however osmose certain things about the show because at that time, you just sort of did. So how did I go back and actually watch this show well….

The first factor was that in the back half of 2017 I had the weirdest dream, where I literally dreamed the plot of my current WIP Boy Problems for Disney’s The Mighty Ducks which I had not seen or thought of in years (God told Joan of Arc to save France, God tells me to write steamy obscure dudeslash fic, Thanks God!). 

The 2nd Factor was that in like October of 2017, I watched Riverdale which I binged and then kept through to the winter finale of season 2 and then 5 months later thinking I was free (spoiler: I was not in fact free) and I started sort of following it and now I am here sort of following it week to week, but mostly mocking it while dreaming of my super gay alternative, and being increasingly annoyed with the fandom’s tendencies to make superficial comparisons to other show, a fandom trend I have always hated and that harkens back to Zutara fandom in ATLA (Zutara is not 1xr or Van/Hitomi, thanks). 

And the third factor was that way back in like July or August or some time there was a clickbait article that was basically TV shows characters that should have ended up with someone else/wrong endgame pairings which I clicked mostly because I wanted to see what they wrote about the How I Met Your Mother finale (I love reading takes on the HIMYM finale, I find it fascinating) and well the clickbait article stated that Dawson/Joey should have been endgame. This intrigued me because it contradicted everything I had ever heard/osmosed about the show.

So I decided that I would watch it to draw my conclusions and to see if what I had heard was wrong (which I thought was a possibility because I don’t by my nature trust giant ship fandoms like PJo was back in the day, it’s something I still sort of keep to this day), and I was like I will mock it and at the very least I will be able to have ammo against stupid fandom comparisons and due to a shared actor, maybe pick up good screen caps for like a moodboard for The Fic that had now progressed from being a dream to a thing that actually exists. 

And so I started it and as God would have it, I got invested, and now find that the Clickbait article was wrong, fandom needs to shut up Bughead/Barchie/Jeronica is not like Pacey/Joey thankyouverymuch, and I can’t use caps for a mood board because I would just cry and can’t associate anything from the show with anything else. 

So that’s story about how this dumb binch got invested in Dawson’s Creek years after everyone has moved on!

21. What was the first fanfic you ever wrote?

No Joke, the first fanfic that I wrote down and then posted was a Sailor Moon/Gundam Wing crossover that was basically just a retelling of the story of Sailor Moon with added giant robots. If you are like “Please tell me it wasn’t Senshi/Pilots” I am afraid I can tell you that (The pairings were if I recall Heero/Serena, Duo/Amy (What?!), Wufei/Raye, Trowa/Lita (cause they were both tall) and Quatre/Mina (Oh Quatre sweetie, I’m so sorry)) I killed Mamoru, and Relena just didn’t exist because this was set more in the SM universe than the GW one so I just brought over the pilots. It was multi-chaptered and I wrote a chapter a day. I wrote five parts of it covering all 5 arcs of Sailor Moon. 

Yes, I was totally better than those other girls as you can see. And no, those fics no longer exist online. In my defense I was 15 years old, I had not yet realized I was a lesbian and if I were to write that story now it would be Usagi/Relena because that story would be effing amazing.

36. What’s your favourite genre to write?

I enjoy a long slice of life romcom if I’m honest. The plotting of both my longest fics (Boy Problems and Living Arrangements) are the sort of stories that i love to write and come the easiest to me. I am also partial to quiet thematic characters beats and fics that explore characters putting things back together which if I can ever get back to 1xR as a ship that inspires me, I would love to do just a slice of life romance of them paralleling and finding their way back to each other. Also just cute romcom premises are always fun.

40. What do you struggle the most with in your writing?

I am so off and on when it comes to prose. Like there are times where I can do it and I love it, and other times it’s a struggle and I have to fight from just making everything dialogue (I maintain confidence in my dialogue.)

46. If someone was to read one of your fanfics, which fic would you recommend to them and why?

I think both Boy Problems (Mighty Ducks) and Living Arrangements (Dawson’s Creek) are the most apparent clear examples of where I am right now as a writer, but they are longer and the fandoms aren’t super in anyone’s face. I would say of my shorter one-shots, Save the Last Dance (Gundam Wing) and Once Lost, Now Found (City Hunter) are the most emblematic of me as a writer and my approach to characterisation. I also every once again get into to hugely stylistic gen pieces that I generally feel very proud of like Creation in Nine Acts (Avatar the Last Airbender, a mock creation myth for the Avatarverse, written before Korra was a thing but was not meant as the literal creation myth anyways) and State of IT (IT a short vignette from IT’s point of view.

51. Rant or Gush about one thing you love or hate in the world of fanfiction! Go!

I don’t know if this a thing I love or hate, but I am tired of fandom’s missives of you MUST COMMENT/KUDOS on everything you read. Comments/kudos/likes/reblogs on fanworks (not just fic) are great, but I don’t think that anyone is obligated to do any of those things. I think what I would rather do than rant or gush is to say that I think if you are a creator try to at least find comfort in validation of respecting and loving your own work. Write for yourself first and foremost. I think when I let go of the need for validation was when I really allowed myself to grow and appreciate myself as a writer. I wasn’t worried about what other people would think but just if I can read this and enjoy it and allows me a little more time thinking and writing about characters that I love than I am good, and I post it as a sort of second thought for if I enjoy it there may be others (even if it is one other person). So I guess I would leave it at that. If you’re a reader, don’t worry if you don’t leave feedback, no one is owed it and you don’t have to give any if you don’t feel that you can. And if you are writer, I would urge you to focus and write for you first and foremost and treat any feedback as a sort of treat on top of the pride of knowing you saw something through.

Best of 2022 K-Pop🏹

This year’s kpop releases have been VERY hit or miss (emphasis on the miss) for me this year but I still managed to scrape together a list of very great songs that came out and that I thoroughly enjoyed. These aren’t all of the releases I liked this year, but they are the best of them.

WHEN I MOVE - KARA

Several 2nd Gen girl groups have made their long awaited comebacks this year, and this was simply the best one (and this is coming from a Girls’ Generation supremacist). The song and music video are so glam, although that rap is definitely a blemish on this otherwise amazing song. They even managed to be one of the very few kpop groups to utilize an antidrop without it disappointing me.

BEAUTY INSIDE - NINE.I

A new token 4th gen group to add to my like list! Beauty Inside is another well done antidrop and has such pretty production. I can see this song aging very well and being very nostalgic for me in the future.

Heart Burn - Sunmi

This is quality FAWKING music! I never thought that we’d see Sunmi being in her Fleetwood Mac era, but here we are, and I couldn’t be happier. Also the visuals of this era were utterly GORGEOUS!

INVU - Taeyeon

Not everyone is intelligent enough to see the beauty in this song, but I am☝️ It’s just a very pretty and atmospheric song with beautiful vocals and production. What is there not to like?

Dilemma - APink

I genuinely don’t get why so many people hate the chorus because I love it, especially the horn! I think the horn is very pretty. This is mermaid music from beginning to end so I am disappointed that the music video didn’t have them as mermaids or something, but I’ve coped and moved on.

Don’t Stop - ATEEZ

This song was way too good to just be a random little single, especially considering the fact that it’s better than any of the other songs ATEEZ has released this year (other than Cyberpunk). It really exemplifies the strengths of ATEEZ’s music; the well utilized adlibs and vocal layering, production that has a lot going on without crossing into obnoxious territory, and an insanely catchy chorus.

O - VERIVERY

The guitar and melody and production overall of this song are just intoxicating. Also, I’m pissed no one told me that VERIVERY has some GOOD ass music. For years I just brushed them off as just another 4th gen boy group, but no, they have a very great catalogue that I highly recommended everyone check out. Especially their song From Now.

ParadoXXX Invasion - ENHYPEN

Ok so the rest of this list isn’t ordered, but these last two entries are in fact my top two favorite songs of the year. THIS IS WHAT REAL BOY GROUP MUSIC SOUNDS LIKE! I can’t get over how much I love this song from beginning to end. I even love the music video and choreography to death too. I haven’t been this excited about a group release since I don’t know when. Enhypen has very quickly become my second favorite 4th generation group after ATEEZ. They’re hitmakers, I tell you☝️

Brand New - Xiumin

Brand New is easily the most kpopiest kpop song we’ve gotten in a LONG LONG time. As an EXO-L, I suppose I am very biased, but I think even if I wasn’t one, I’d still think this was the best release. It’s pure effervescent fun! I listen to it on loop all of the time even though it’s been out for 3 months now. Xiumin really did what he had to do and I couldn’t be more grateful.

Sharing my Covid Pregnancy Story.

To start, I always had late periods that started last 2016 when I was already too busy at work. It takes me about 2-3months before I get another menstrual cycle. I also got fatter. To which, I suspected I may already have PCOS. In my mind, I really wanted to get checked, also because Jan had already been expressing that he already wanted to have our own child.

Fast forward to Nov 13, 2019, that was my last menstrual period. When December 2019 and January 2020 came and I still had no period, I just shrugged off thinking since it was already normal to have skipped 2 months of no period. But mind you, starting January 2020, Jan has already been doing it and not pulling it out 😬🙈

Everytime I get to the 3rd month of skip, I always get the mini heart attack and buy preg tests. Before I bought preg tests, I decided I wanted to be checked already just so I know once and for all if I already got PCOS. Last February 8, 2020, I visited the clinic our family obgyne (wife of Mama Tas' cousin) together with Jan (just so he also knows whatever is going on down there), but she wasn't around. Instead, across her clinic, her husband, our family pediatrician saw me and Jan. He asked me

"Oh naa lagi ka? Nag unsa ka?".. "Magpa-check up unta kong doctora"..

"Uy buntis ka?"..

"Hehe dili, pa check up ra unta ko"..

"Ahw wala raba sya karon kay nagmeeting, balik lang nya sunod".

Sad. And sayang.

So last February 15, 2020, I bought just 1 preg test. And used it in the morning. He stayed the night before and I tested the preg test while he was there. It was negative. I gave a big sigh of relief. Joked to him about being positive, lol. And went on with the day.

Last February 29, 2020, still waiting for my period to arrive, I bought another 3 preg tests, just to be sure, as advised by Demi. Still, those 3 preg tests came out negative.

March came, the 4th month of no period. This was already the longest period skip I've had in my life and I was already so worried. I really want to get checked already if I really have PCOS, and to have it treated already. Unfortunately, because of Covid-19, Cebu was already placed under Community Quarantine. I wasn't able to get checked because public utility vehicles were already banned.

I prayed that I wouldn't have complications from this very long skip. By the middle of March, I worked out. Had diet. I wasn't eating much and I lost 2kilos in weight. I was happy. Lol. From what I heard, exercise and diet helps fight PCOS. It came to a point a already that I'm already only eating 1 meal a day for 3days. But because I was already vomiting from the lack of food intake, I thought I already had ulcer.

April came and I still wasn't having my period. This time I got so worried, I really want to get to Hi Precision to get an advise on what test to take. But from the advise of friends, luckily, there are already online doctors people can reach thru FB chat.

Before I tried to chat an obgyne online, I thought, I should buy preg tests to let the doctors know that I'm negative and I may already have PCOS. I bought 3 preg tests. That night, the thought that came to my mind was it would have been better if the preg tests come out positive than to have PCOS and the possibility of difficulty in being pregnant. So I prayed. I prayed that the preg tests came positive. I repeatedly prayed for it not being prepared of anything. I prayed for it because it was a healthier choice.

The next morning, I prayed again.

The 3 preg tests gave out 2 lines. Positive!

At first I didn't know what to react. I know I prayed for this result. But I didn't actually know what to do. I called Jan. That's when I cried. I cried because I didn't know how to say it to my parents. I cried because I wasn't actually ready if that result came out positive. I cried because of a lot of things, plans that may already put on hold or may never happen. Jan was a bit speechless at first, but then said "Maayo nuon. Maytag twins." Those words, tho a bit of a joke, comforted me knowing that he wasn't angry or sounding like wanna get away from it. He reassured that it was gonna be okay.

After the call, I immediately went to Beb's room and told her. She actually was happy. I told her I was worried on how to tell our parents. She said it was gonna be fine since my parents were already asking me since last year when I would settle down because it might already be difficult already to have kids. So voila mami and dadi, problem solved! 😅

That afternoon, I told Chenee and Claire. 😁 But then felt a bit guilty that I told them first rather than my parents. I decided to tell them the next day.

Next day, I called mami. Told her "Mami, I. Am. Pregnant." just like that. Mami's usual reaction was like a little bit disappointed. Tho she didn't say it, but I could hear it in her voice. But then daddy got the phone and told me "Ok rana ging, walay problema na". I was sooo relieved from those words coming from daddy. Like hello, daddy saying ok that I was pregnant and not yet married. I expected differently from both of them. Since daddy was ok with it, mami came to be ok with it too. Sometimes, mami gives the worst reactions tho. 🙄

After that, I told the rest of the homies.

I messaged an obgyne online. I found her at Facebook as one of the obgyne clinics near me at Talisay. She advised to have the Transvaginal Sonogram. But as I was not yet her patient, she haven't given me a prescription. When I went to Hi Precision, they didn't allow it unless I get a prescription and suggest that an obgyne or hospital should do the TVS. So I messaged another online obgyne. Thankfully she gave me a prescription thru email. I had Claire come with me to drive to South Gen Hospital.

I got the results in 30mins. And, boy, was I surprised to see on the sonogram that the baby was already formed! I was actually just expecting like a little circle or something not clear enough to make out a baby in the picture. But there it was, a baby in my tummy. A baby already 11weeks!

So this was the reason I lost appetite and lost weight. If only I had been able to see our family ogbyne last February, Jan and I might have already known.

Jan wasn't able to get across from Cebu City to Talisay City because of the strict border controls. I got so frustrated, I told him terrible things for not making an effort on crossing borders. He haven't even told his family yet. I felt so alone and I cried. I kept putting the pressure on him because I don't know his thoughts and plans. He didn't say anything much. So I thought I was being abandoned.

Also, since Cebu was under ECQ, clinics were also closed. Even obgyne clinics at hospitals were also closed. Should there be a maternity emergency, mothers are only allowed to go straight to ER. Since I am not in an emergency, thank God, I had to wait till clinics open. But I was worried I wasn't seen by an obgyne and I can't say for sure if the Folic acid I'm taking and milk are enough to get thru pregnancy.

Jan managed to get across when quarantine status was lowered from ECQ to MECQ last June 1. Clinics also opened that time. Finally, on June 4, got the prenatal checkup at Tecson Clinic with Dr. Geline Cabanganan-Tecson. I was really nervous because I didn't have any update on my baby's growth or he/she is still there. But when Doc Geline got that doppler and I finally heard ny baby's heartbeat, I almost cried out. I was so happy the baby's thriving even without proper vitamins before.

Then, I finally got the proper prescribed vitamins and given prescription to do a package lab tests for blood tests, urine, glucose, etc. When the results came, everything was fine except for urine. The test result came out me having Urinary Tract Infection. I was shocked. I haven't even felt any pain in urinating. When I told mommy about it, she told me everytime she was pregnant, she has UTI too. When she was pregnant with me, she was even hospitalized because of the pain in urinating. Wew. The doctor gave me medicine to be taken twice a day for 7days. Then I had to take the Urine test again. Thankfully, after the 2nd urine test, the result was already good.

Chenee and clara wanted to have gender reveal party. I didn't really want one. I mean, for me, the gender of the baby wasn't a really big achievement tho. Like, okay, the baby is a boy or a girl. What are the other people gonna do about that information tho? Haha ya get me? Gender reveals are just a waste of effort and money. Pregnancy reveals are more emotional and wonderful, right? Right.

I secretly didn't tell them I was already getting the gender ultrasound. I just posted a blue heart on my IG story. But Chenee got it right away 😅

Fast forward, everything was doing good. My appetite went back on my 2nd trimester. The food was great again. I had to take caution on my food intake because I was already gaining weight fast 😅

Everything was fine. Baby's body is already in position for birth. UTI was gone. All we're waiting for already was the BIG DAY 😍

As I type this, I am admittedly an ugly mess. I woke up from a nap this evening & I saw an article that came out a few minutes beforehand about Hoya’s contract renewal, saying that he did not go through with it. Groggily, I clicked on it, not thinking much.

I sat wide awake as I read the sentence once, twice, over and over and my mind couldn’t even properly process it. Leaving?? Actually leaving???

Let me back up, as in, a few months before all this unfolded. Infinite was supposed to come back in May, as announced in their third fan-meeting and everything.  Sunggyu was having health issues and the comeback naturally got pushed back. Their 7th Anniversary eventually came around, but I kinda felt like it was a quiet celebration. There were a few SNS posts, but no annual live broadcast, apparently due to issues with gathering all the members in one place. (When they said this, I thought to myself, ‘This is their SEVENTH anniversary, but they can’t even get together just for that???’ *sad but also equally confused face*). Their contracts came to an end, but there was no official word of their next steps for quite a while. In the middle, we got a little announcement that discussions were still going on and that they were all headed in a positive direction. Weeks trickled past. It was rumored that all re-signed except for one member, supposedly L, but that was just a false report. Three excruciating months later, it is revealed that everyone but Hoya renewed their contract with Woollim Ent. And then the next day, they announced his departure from the company, and the group completely.

I honestly did not see it coming. Throughout these three anxiety-filled months, I kept preparing myself for the worst, which was presumably an official disbandment. But never in the slightest could I imagine a falling apart. A break up?? The loss of a piece that makes them whole? Not hiatus, not disbandment, not separate ways, but the genuine departure of a member. An entire member. I just……….. of all groups to ever pull this off (and we all know that plenty of 2nd gen. groups have been through this, GG, Teen Top, Beast, 2NE1, Apink, Girls’ Day, etc.) INFINITE was one to follow this….. “trend”. This wretched trail of pain that way too many groups have crossed several times.

Before I go into how I feel overall, I just want to make it clear that of course, I will still support Infinite as 6 members, and Hoya in his personal endeavors unconditionally, no matter what. I’ve literally been following them for over 6 frking years now, how could I just abandon any of them like that? No, lol, I’m in way too deep, y’all. So yes, I will never ever ever everrrrrrrrrr bash or disrespect their decisions in any way. I will, of course, wholeheartedly accept this with open arms because that is what true fans do. And if anything, considering that this is what we’ve come to after THREE entire months, doesn’t that just further prove to us how hard this probably was for the members, and staff, and just everyone else collectively? Clearly, a lot of thought went into this. This wasn’t impulsive. This is for the better, and I will fully respect that.

HOWEVER, I am, after all, a fking diehard Inspirit and these boys have literally defined my years as I’ve matured into an adult. They’ve been with me through thick and thin, and as I like to say, my “part-time lifeline”. Even though I almost basically despise current kpop (I will say this several times, but 2nd gen. kpop is dead & gone and that’s something I will mourn for a while), Infinite has always been there. They are my Day 1′s, and as time went on, even when I got extremely busy w/ junior & senior year of high school, I still tried my best to keep up with them, support them, and just honestly, thank them. For being there. Because even as all these years passed before my eyes, they were still here, ALL 7 of them, still occasionally coming back with music for fans, still being Infinite. Just being Infinite. And I was (and still am) so eternally thankful for that. I watched groups lose members, go on hiatuses, or completely fall apart left and right, but Infinite promised us time and time again that they would be there no matter what. I can’t say this enough, but seriously, from the bottom of my heart, when I had time to just reflect on the years, I was just so so so so overwhelmingly thankful for them. 

And so 1 member leaving was just……. it broke me to pieces. I was utterly, completely devastated. Because it was simply a reality I never saw coming. One I never wanted to believe in. I wanted to keep believing that they would continue on as seven for as long their hearts could desire, just as they’ve been doing for all these years. That they’d surpass Shinhwa, and be the longest-lasting boy group to exist, unchanged since debut. That they are family, brothers for life, that they would never separate in such a way. Not to say that they aren’t family anymore. But that their bond of trust would transcend any notions of breaking apart.

But really. It’s okay. Nothing lasts forever, and I know that very well. All good things must come to an end. And that is what I’ve had the most trouble dealing with ever since I read that sentence. This is the end of an era for the boys. This marks a new journey where nothing will be the same as it was before, for better or for worse, who knows yet. But we all have to say goodbye to the Infinite that existed before today. And that’s what’s really hard for me. That’s what has got me looking like an ugly sobbing mess for a good 8 hours today LOL. Because it’s really hard for me to say farewell so suddenly. But the storm will pass, with time.

And with that, I want to once again, thank Infinite, thank Hoya, thank the world for letting these boys shine brightly for the past 7 years, and to hopefully continue to shine even brighter for years to come. Thank you so much Hoya, for being such a pillar (—holy fck hold up, I never thought I’d be typing these words and now im a mess again, great) within Infinite.

Thank you for being the iconic dancing machine within Infinite.

Thank you for not only rapping impressively, but singing stunningly as well.

wtf why is sistar disbanding???? :((((((

I’m not really their fan but it’s so depressing to see all these great 2nd gen girl groups dropping off like flies. In about 365 days we lose 2ne1, 4minute, Sistar, Wonder Girls, Rainbow, Spica, KARA... 

It does seem weird to me that it’s always the girl groups. And it’s not like all of them were doing badly, either--weren’t Wonder Girls and Sistar doing very well with their last comebacks? I don’t get it... it would be easy to blame it on the quick expiration dates due to the fickleness of trends, but not all of them were doing badly! It should be the other way around, since boy groups always have to go on a long hiatus when the army comes ‘round. I just wish all the groups could stay together... I know it’s unrealistic but still... ;_; and then you think how long until my bias group goes? I have hopes that Mamamoo will stick around since their songs always do very well on the charts and they have serious talent, but that was the case for some of the other groups too. Well, we have about 3-4 years until the seven year curse. So I’ll treasure it now.
