As I was busy drawing other things during Limited Life, I never got to put in my piece for how to classify Martyn within the “sun, moon, and stars” victor analogy. 

My suggestion is that keeping an analogy *clearly* meant for a group of three and trying to add a fourth thing that fits just as well was never going to work, and so I decided to do something else.

So here is my submission: I made them a time cycle, representing Day, Dusk, Night, and Dawn.

My reasoning is that the aesthetic works well, which is kind of all the reasoning we had for the sun, moon, stars analogy. Do with it what you will lmao, but the painting looks nice.

The Star of Last Life

I haven’t inked my Scott design before, so this was a fun exploration!

Did anybody else notice that in Last Life the only 2 LGBTQIA+ YouTubers were also the only ones who got paired with the opposite gender? By pure chance the only 2 gay/bi people and their soul-bounds were the only ones NOT "soul mates" with the same gender! (Scott was soul-bound to Pearl and Cleo was soul-bound to Martyn).

According to the math I did badly as quickly as possible and didn't check in any way whatsoever, there was a 7.05% chance of this happening!

Every life series summarized:

Third Life: What if gay people went to war?

Last Life: What if gay people betrayed each other?

Double Life: The worlds messiest divorce leads to a woman going on a murder spree because she found out her state assigned boyfriend was gay. also in the background, toxic yaoi between an eldritch demigod and his government mandated therapist.

Limited Life: Found Family. Also local fish and demon are SHOCKED when the man famous for constantly plotting to betray and kill his allies in order to win betrays and kills them in order to win

Secret Life: God comes down from the heavens because it decided that what these idiots needed was MORE yes-and, and then sticks around to bully a man about having no friends.

Real Life: The debatably cannon april fools episode where you can watch people get extreme nausea and learn what its like to be short.

Can I... talk about the theory that winners help craft the next game?

Because, and I really can not say this enough, it puts So Much into perspective.

Everything starts out Normal. Three lives, simple, cut and dry, there hasn't been a winner yet. No one to help craft the game. (And there's something to be said about how simple it really was. Not even a real expectation of the world becoming pvp or combative. No idea of the war to come)

Then Grian wins. The green killer, the man who vowed his first life to the one whose life he took. The next game the boogie man is born. A mechanic that allows and, in fact, demands, a green kill. People can trade lives back and forth, currency and debt wrapped up in one. (can we still be friends? Said the red partner. A life time later and reds are hostile, alone. Maybe it's an answer: No. Not anymore)

Scott wins this time. He refuses to play the game. He will not kill his team, he will love and he will do so fiercely and with all of himself. The next game people are attached through to their very souls. Every bit of damage to one soul is done to its twin. There is no boogeyman. (There is no way for a widow to be left without their love)

Pearl wins and she wins a blood bath. Spent the game draped in red, only wolves for company. Sitting in her tower, shivering in ice, maybe she wanted it to end. To see where it would. Limited life rewards you for killing, limited life has a clock tick tick ticking down, you always no how long you have. A curse yes, but a blessing too.

Now It's Martyn's turn.

And what a turn it is.

Keep your secrets, says the disloyal man, keep them well. Everything hurts, everything Matters, says the man fracturing with every loss. (What if we could love each other without hurting? Says The Hand, who never wanted to be coated in blood)

More importantly, Martyn has always seen the watchers below the surface. Now, they're right here in front of him. Something that could almost... be rebelled against, no? Something that someone else could finally point to and say: hey, hey isn't that familiar?

Heard some rumors about a new life series soon👀👀

Wip update, I finished sketching and the flats, and started rendering. Currently Martyn and Scott are done for this phase, and Grian is halfway done. 

I’m updating because I wanted to share my frustration that MY PEN BROKE. BUT NOT LIKE FULLY, ITS JUST ANNOYING TO USE NOW I CAN’T USE ANY PRESSURE WITHOUT THE TIP BENDING IN HALF. This is a problem because I am king of heavy-handed drawing. 

So, a lot of this rendering was done through pain and suffering, as after drawing Scott is when the stylus broke, because apparently my stylus has a personal and specific disrespect for Martyn, and refused to render more that .2 percent of his section of the drawing before snapping. 

Anyway, I have now dropped around 100 dollars on a new stylus, and the only thing I have to blame is my own heavy-handedness and my art supply’s personal vendetta against Martyn Inthelittlewood.

I’m so glad people agree with how insane Scott is lore wise.

I love seeing people’s ideas for what happens to the winners at the end and Scott being /killed by Grian makes me insane actually

Might continue this if the inspiration strikes who knows. I’m just not sure how exactly Grian would respond, because we know he isn’t actually on their side. But I imagine he’s trying to play the part, maybe to figure out how to stop them. Ahh I have so many Watcher Grian thoughts. Please I need people to share watcher Grian thoughts with me

Also started cooking up a Double Life animation (which I hopefully won’t abandon)
