I think it’s kinda fun how I started the Apothecary Diaries bc I wanted to scratch the romance anime itch but ended up loving how aroace MaoMao is like yes girly you get it too fjdjsksks

(I’m also kinda tired of the male lead forcing himself onto the female lead at times like that scene with the honey was so fucking annoying and Jinshi didn’t even properly apologize and don’t even get me started on that scene where he rubs some of her lipstick on his own lips LIKE AM I SUPPOSED TO THINK THATS ROMANTIC HELLO SHE AINT INTO YOU LEAVE HER ALONEE)

watched the movie. it was okay but not satisfying in my opinion. the animation is amazing and i don't have anything to say about that. but with the plot, the individual arcs and (above all) the romantic plot they could've done definitely better. the whole thing felt (to me) TOO fast. there were barely interactions between marinette and adrien and ok, marinette "liked" adrien (had a crush on him, nothing more) but adrien... he almost seemed uncomfortable with her (at least in the start) and YES they become friends and everything but... eh. one thing i loved were the ladynoir interactions. i liked the crisis of marinette and her confusion about her feelings for chat noir, because she appreciated both adrien and chat noir. this should've happened with adrien too. then there was gabriel's redemption and okay ig. the end was too much fast and (in my opinion there were too many comic subplots) we didn't even saw them kiss (WHY). idk i have mixed feelings about this movie and i had to write some of my toughts here. if you want to discuss about It you're free to do it because i want to listen other opinions

whatever “dynamic” you said ladrien to be, remember that marichat experienced the EXACT same in exaltation, but with the gears stomped on acceleration

marinette didn’t encourage adrien to speak to his father in the episode risk for you to say she can’t speak properly around adrien at all (also may i fucking ask how is that a communication flaw when everyone who watches the show with OPENED eyes knows that marinette is adrien’s biggest supporter plus the many times she manages to give him strength, even with the whatever “flaw stopping communication” you claim they have)

it’s not a communication flaw just because ladrien “never really happens” smh ig simon says, riposte, gorzilla, and strike back didn’t happen then 💀 marichat does NOT have an edge over ladynoir just because chat noir is “too busy flirting or showing off to try to be himself” ??? are you hearing yourself? chat noir IS him. period. or did the ending of kuro neko fly by your head? also even if chat noir flirts too much, ladybug still trusts him with all her heart. i can’t believe you actually said marichat has more trust than ladynoir, when ladynoir is the most developed side of the lovesquare

Ok that Miraculous finale was.... a lot.... like a LOT... to take in. 🥴 (this is long & scrambled, my bad 🤪)

I liked Gabriel's battle w/ Bug Noir. And I think Gabriel stinging Mari at the last second was so shocking. 😭 Tikki & Plagg revealing their true forms and combining to that being was wow.... Giving his life for Emily & Natalie's was the only wise thing that Gabriel has ever done. I won't commend him for it tho, because he knew his time was done, and that there was nothing else he could do. Even tho he froze Mari and in this way "won", he knew that his wish all along was a false reality. Imagine if things had went his way just for Adrien to have been the price...

I wonder what the story of Emelie popping up completely healthy, and Natalie being healthy all of a sudden will be. 😵‍💫 Regardless, I can't be too upset at the idea of Adrien being in a great environment now with two people who'll value him, experiencing romance like the hopeless romantic he's always been, and having control over himself with the rings. 🌻

Gabriel getting a statue was gross to see and so was Adrien seemingly wishing to "be like his father" (not blaming him btw). But it's not unrealistic for a billionaire to have a statue & be remembered as a hero. That happens often irl despite their atrocities being known by literally everyone. 🙃 And the idea of "Gabriel helping Ladybug to defeat Monarch"... Maybe this is supposed to be taken figuratively, but ugh... I hope we don't see a huge theme of Adrien missing his father next season. 😮‍💨 Like yeah, that's his father who he never got to say goodbye to. But like... He put him in solitary confinement for not wanting to move from the only home he's ever known, plus force a relationship on him. 🥴 Arranged marriages between wealthy families isn't an uncommon thing, but ffs, they're just kids. Even w/o Marinette & Felix in the picture, Gabriel & Tomoe's obsession w/ having their children together - enough to put them in solitary confinement for escaping their controlled life - was truly predatory.

Adrien knows he's a senti-being now for sure tho... right? ?😭 I just feel like that's such an important part of himself that he should know by now. I mean, Kagami & Felix know, and now that "Lila" may know, that concerns me. 😥 Regardless, he deserves to know....

Speaking of Lila, idk how I feel about Lila being the new villain while knowing Mari's identity... Based on the ending, things seem a bit uncertain there too. Don't get me wrong - I fully enjoy her as a character and as an antagonist, and I want to know more of her background. How did she become so manipulative? Why is she so vengeful? So deceptive? Why is so unhappy, and thrives off of lying to random people over the smallest of things? We have at least two seasons left of this show, and I'd like to know so bad. 😭 She may only have the butterfly miraculous, but the amount of knowledge & history she has is abundant....

All the chosen heroes from before have their miraculouses, but will be full time heroes this time around. Now that Adrien will have a more stable home life + a true relationship w/ Marinette, life as Cat Noir won't be treated as the escape it's been prior. I mean, exploring his feelings for Mari, coming to terms w/ just being friends w/ Ladybug, and not having to model anymore somewhat changed that this season already. So I don't think we have to worry about a repeat of S4's Ladynoir distance happening at least. Them all being full-time holders and Adrien not feeling trapped nor abandoned in his civilian life should change that too.

Luka, Jagged Stone, and Penny being under the celestial guardian's wing wasn't something I was expecting 🤔 Idk how that came about, but it's definitely not bad for Luka at all as someone who knows both Cat Noir & Ladybug's identities still. Still kinda wish he had become more involved w/ the miraculous, but hey, at least the three will be back in Paris ig? 🎉

In conclusion, I have no idea what to expect for S6. 😭 I'm excited to see what Lila is like holding her own power w/ no strings. I'm excited to see Felix & Kagami's relationship bloom, to Adrienette bloom, and to see how our three senti children move while in control of their own lives (although Kagami might not be completely out the gate their w/ her mother around :/). Excited to see more interaction w/ the kwamis as most are free again. All but our baby Nooroo. Again. 😞

These are all just my initial thoughts directly after watching Re-Creation, before deep-diving into everyone else's opinions tho. 🤗 S5 may be my 3rd favorite season. Not the best, but not the worse. Just right in the middle. ✅️ The wait for S6 begins! 🎉

i like fics that focus on the dynamic between ladynoir bc imo they ARE the ‘best friends, inseparable partners’ part of the lovesquare like NO PART of the lovesquare BICKERS like ladynoir does and I FUCKING LOVE THAT but i’ll read other sides of the lovesquare too if i think its a good fic i love an interesting story idrc about ones that explore a lot about other characters i prefer just reading about the dynamic between our two main characters and well i have the tag filtered currently by kudos and by fics that were completed between jan 1 2020 - today 2022 aka whenever i first put the filter and i clicked on everything that’s interesting i do like ones where they r aged up bc its easier to project onto them and whenever i think about a potential fic id write id want them aged up to my age so i can Tell A Story about something im going through KFKSKDK or something ive gone through that i can hypothetically relate to etc etc etc anyway i read any rating if the ages are appropriate etc and its Well Written

AUs are okay to me but ifl i generally prefer fics set in the MLB universe bc the whole double identity lovesquare thing is the crux of why i love the characters in the first place i always love silly little stories but i will always want to get Fucked Up emotionally like yasssss put the characters through hell or pining hell like the confession scene in the bed sharing AU i read where chat confesses hes still in love w ladybug after all this time right as shes about to recklessly sleep w him but gets so shook she ends up running away instead i LOVED that um idk if ill ever feel that way reading a mlb fic again but it was a top tier experience i think it deserves to be the top of the tag even tho it was written a few months ago

okay so basically it’s with the end of hawkmoth battle

damian likes to go in the batcave and watch ladybug fights — it’s on live

he’s watching it and basically ladybug gets thrown into a building

though as she gets up her eyes turn green, so she quickly covers her eyes (ppl probably think the girl is crying) when she removes her eyes they’re back to being blue (eye contacts??? hmm 😟😏🤷🏾‍♀️)

so she’s now having an adrenaline rush and starts to literally punch hawkmoth and it’s revealed to be..

so ladybug being done with this she’s screams

“SAY SIKE RN SAY SIKE RN I KNEW IT” and she’s just like undermining herself, and like all that bc she thought it was gabriel a while ago bc of him owning the grimoire.

and she’s even worried of chat bc in this they had an accidental identity reveal

she screams “LUCKY CHARM” and gets a baseball bat (yes i thought of this genius i know.. if i wanted to be extra i would’ve said crowbar)

she immediately gets it snatched from her hand by chat and he’s beating gabriel with a baseball bat (crazy huh)

and then ladybug holds him back and is like “chat give me the baseball bat” he grudgingly gives it to her and she’s like SIKE I LIED YO PANCAKES IS DRY RESPECTFULLY (she didn’t say that i just wanted to say sike but like i was in the tiktok moment)

gonna just gather my thoughts and write about the 4th episode of season 5, Jubilation

i’m so glad i waited for the french dub for this, because i sure as hell wouldn't have enjoyed and experienced all that i felt today if i had watched gloof’s premiere and prolly would have forgotten about it like how i did with a lot of season 4 episodes because languages other than french (for miraculous) cannot grab my attention like the OG does (i personally prefer OG dubs, like i can’t watch japanese dub miraculous, it feels so wrong to me, and i love the japanese language!! so fuck anything dub anything)

also thank you @little-mari-on-a-roof for being my watch buddy for the french dub, it’s so much easier doing this waiting with you and major props and mad RESPEKT to and for you, for reminding me why i’m waiting for ep 4 in the first place, and for doing this alone last season. waiting for 2/3 days was already hard enough for me because i kinda know what’s gonna happen again this is a lie, i got stabbed in the heart and for you to wait 4 months? what a queen 😌👑

next, LADYNOIR ACTUALLY REMEMBERED THE KISS!!! CONTRARY TO WHAT A LOT OF US THOUGHT!!!! opinion on the miraculous movie

Ok so the miraculous movie was okay for what it was i guess. But I'll never watch it again lol. And I'm not gonna act like it's better than the current show. The show is undoubtedly imperfect in writing, but it has more depth, more angst, and a background that will keep us watching it til the very end just to see how the execution will go down (even if it sucks at times 🙃). The story is SO heavy & that makes it super interesting. But if you're not interested in the angst, then sure, the movie universe will suit you fine ig?

I will say that I absolutely hated the fact that Cristina Vee wasn't the one singing for Marinette in the dub. As amazing of a singer as she is, why didn't they just have her do it?? At least the one who sang for Cat Noir had a similar tone to Bryce Papenbrook, so it worked. But it was WAY too obvious that Mari's singer & VA were two different voices, and it just... was very awkward to watch/hear. 😫

It was also a little frustrating to see Cat Noir still be a lil salty about the fact that his feelings wasn't returned. 😮‍💨 Like I get it, the person you have feelings for doesn't feel the same. It's not a good feeling. You feel crushed & have to mourn your loss of not- reciprocated feelings. But.... I don't understand this idea of "I'd rather fight by myself than with a partner who cares about me just bc they don't feel the same way about me that I feel about them (despite them not having to)" 🙃 Why would you get mad/petty/salty to the point of trying to do things by yourself when EVERYONE'S LIVES IS AT STAKE?!?

He's a kid and he's flawed, okay. It's still annoying af lol. At least he got to take his frustration of rejection out on Gabriel afterwards tho. 🤣 Probably my fave part of the whole film after Ladynoir's play fight. 🤭💓

In conclusion, the movie is okay. I still prefer the messy show tho. 🥴
