In a world where magic is relatively commonplace if not particularly scientifically studied, amateur curse breaker in addition to anatomist Harry Goodsir joins the Franklin Expedition and finds a rare friend and kindness in Billy Orren. He doesn't notice he only sees Billy at night in the company of a large black dog, and awkwardly interacts with Henry Collins and his apparently trained osprey in the day.

For my first @theterrorbigbang I got the pleasure of illustrating Three Poor Mariners by the lovely @meduseld, a Goodsir/Collins\Orren Ladyhawke AU crafted with much love for the Erebites and great attention to detail (and the best throuple cuddles and fun symbolism and some amazingly atmospheric fantasy scenes). LadyHawke Au:

Following their last tumultuous encounter on the mountain, Geralt and Jaskier's paths cross in a quaint village. The air is thick with unresolved emotions, making their reunion uncomfortably awkward.

In an attempt to avoid Geralt, Jaskier unwittingly engages with a woman who turns out to be a witch. Unsettled, Geralt shadows them, wary of the mysterious situation unfolding.

This fateful encounter triggers a chain of events culminating in a curse cast upon both Geralt and Jaskier. Now, by day, Jaskier transforms into a hawk, while Geralt becomes a wolf under the moon's watchful gaze.

Bound by this enchantment, the duo embarks on a journey to unravel the curse's secrets. Amidst the challenges, they discover that confessions of love come more freely when expressed to each other's animal forms.

Hello Steph! First of all how are you? I haven't been on tumblr in literally months (life got very busy) so hope you are doing ok. Secondly, I've started reading fic again and am trying to find a fic that I've read before but just can't seem to find it anywhere. The fic is based off the movie Ladyhawke. EXCITING DOUBLE BIRD EVENT! and here we get the fun time of describing the Difference between the sharpe and foth ladyhawke stories, and also why the sharpe one has been so much easier to write.

so the film Ladyhawke, in which both these stories are based, is about a curse placed on a pair of semi-star-crossed lovers, involving day-night animal transformations that don't overlap with the other half of the duo. but a lot of Ladyhawke's humor and charm proves to come from the fact that it's told from an outside perspective — a silly fellow with a penchant for theft, prison breaks, and general mischief. and thus, it's a much smoother journey to allow the Chosen Men to scamper about low-fantasy vaguely-medievalpunk au-Spain...

“We ain’t deserters,” said Cooper, offended, and set his jaw. “We was on a mission.” “It wasn’t really a mission, you know that perfectly well,” interrupted Harris, shoving his way forward. “But it was important we found the Major! …more important than that fool’s job we were s’posed to be working on, anyway,” admitted Cooper, refusing to show any fault on his part. Okay, hear me out....Steddie AU based on Ladyhawke!

Seriously, think about it, Steve would be the Wolf by night and Eddie would be the Hawke by day, or whatever animals the author would want them to be.

Henry/Vecna/one would be the bad guy, not sure of how or why he cursed them but he does.

Robin would be Mouse, because as much as Dustin seems like the more likely choice, Robin would be better because she would be the only one to talk Steve down.

Anyways...the Party could show up as ummm helpers of some sort, I don't know.

But that end...when they see each other again...arghhhhh.

Whatever.” His cloak — also black, of course — was fastened with a very nice silver pin Lucius could get two nights’ food and lodging out of, and Ed undid it and swept the cloak around very dramatically to lay over his arm before dropping it on the saddle. The hawk pecked at the wool and he tapped its beak lightly. “Make a fire,” he called over his shoulder.
