I love how the 2019 anime expanded Tahomaru's role and characterization as a foil to Hyakkimaru

i know it’s because manga Tahomaru is a footnote of a character but isn’t it crazy how manga Nui seems completely unphased by her son killing her other son, like

the manga never addresses Nui’s relationship with Tahomaru at all aside from the one time they interact n Tahomaru snaps at her and just focuses on Nui and Hyakki but it’s like damn. they NEVER bring Tahomaru up after he dies and Nui seems completely unphased. she’s really just like. whatever about it

she’s also pretty fucking whatever about Hyakki but she’s still more caring about him than her other kid, who again fucking died but hey. is what it is

- What is Janice's relationship with the secret CP9 agents pre-reveal (cause obviously she’d hate them post) I’m curious if she particularly close to any of them

- Can Janice fight (does she have any experience with fighting/violence? Is she good at it? Does she enjoy the experience or hate it?)

- Does Janice have a DF? If so, what is it and how does it work? If not, what would be an ideal fruit for her?

i dont think janice had very close relationships with any of the cp9 members tbh. she wouldve found lucci annoying and a vibe killer LMFAO. she woulda liked kaku a normal amount i think. she probably didnt hang out with him or anything but i could see them exchanging greetings :3

kalifa would probably be the closest to her simply because they both follow iceburg around a lot. they wouldnt be besties by any means (theyre very different people lol)but i could see them having some good conversations during down time. i also think it would be very funny if janice picked up the habit of responding "sexual harrassment." to iceburg in unison with kalifa. she likes watching iceburgs disappointment grow ♡

janice absolutely CANNOT fight. shell threaten you with some knitting needles, and i suppose in a pinch she could use them, but shed really rather not. if anything, her main defense would be throwing whatevers nearest to her and running away. i do like the idea of one of the cp9 members trying to attack her assuming she cant defend herself just for her to produce a sharp ass knitting needle from her sleeve and stab them with it. it wouldnt save her from those scary ass ppl but at least she fought back right?

she does not have a df! shes painfully normal LMFAO

if i had to pick a fruit for her id probably go with a zoan of some kind. i think it would be really neat for her to turn into an animal :3 maybe a ferret? she has ferret vibes. im curious to hear what youd pick for her!!!

I made a Yuma and Makoto nui !! The idea isn’t 100% mine it was based on Pixels nui concept art. Here’s Pixels post! Here’s my reblog if you wanna see the entire nui.

First off, I think the idea of having sick expression nuis are so cute >w< you hardly ever see that kind of doll or nui ( at least I haven’t seen them before)

And I know Yuma has an official nui but smaller nuis are cute and easy to bring along 🤭 ALSO! I’ll be an old lady by the time an official maskless Makoto nui releases so I’ll make my own XDD

I also think the closed eyes expressions are adorable ~~ they look like their sleeping if you tuck them in a bed XD

Btw I forgot to mention, yes I did make them myself!

The villagers were preparing to face Daigo's army. The women hugged their children while the men tried to figure out where to go. Everyone was feeling nervous. They turned their heads every now and then, as if listening for the sound of hooves announcing the arrival of the samurai.

[Reader] promised to stay with the people, meanwhile Dororo will try to help Hyakkimaru. However, the plans quickly changed.

— On the left! — the girl screamed when she saw the rearing horse.

The boy failed to hold the rope. The horse raised his front hooves up. Before it could escape, the girl grabbed it tightly by the mane and jumped on its back. It kicked and then ran in a direction known only to it.

The girl felt pain. The branches lashed her face and she clung to the animal's neck. She drove half-blindly through the forest, hoping to find the source of the commotion.

It only took her a few minutes.

In the middle of the clearing she saw a huge mare. Her mane and tail seemed to be like fire and emitted a strange light. She looked like the embodiment of fury. She must have been the demon that people in the village were talking about.

[Reader] jumped off the ridge and into the tall grass. She failed to completely cushion her fall, which resulted in pain in her left arm. As soon as she stood up, she saw Tahomaru's bodyguards stabbing the huge horse with their blades. The gore-dripping animal did not remain obedient and, in a final act of despair, bit off Hyogo's head and attacked Mutsu. Within a few seconds, all three of them were lying motionless in a large pool of blood, to which the grey-haired boy quickly ran, followed by Dororo.

The girl felt terrible pain in her hands. She guessed that Hyakkimaru had regained new body parts. As soulmates, they shared suffering. She knew he must have been close. So she looked up and saw him nearby, kneeling in a strange position. She managed to get up and walked towards him on wobbly legs.

— Hyakkimaru!

He didn't turn around.

He didn't react to seeing her.

He ran away, with Tahomaru following him.

She knew her soulmate wasn't quite himself but it still hurt her. She didn't know for sure if he cared. Their relationship seemed to be pure chance and not the will of the gods, as the monk had sometimes presented to her. It was difficult to read the boy's signs and intentions. This caused her particular problems at the beginning, when he couldn't even hear her. Over time, however, she learned to see the care and straightforwardness in his actions. She just wasn't sure if it was enough for her.

— How can we stop them? — Dororo asked.

— Perhaps one of them will simply have to die — said the monk standing nearby.

— Listen, it's either your brother or us — interjected a man who had come from the village to check the situation.

— Say it again...

— It wasn't supposed to last forever. Peace built on the sacrifice of one person... We cannot defend what we have not earned with our own hands — said Lady Nui. — I don't have the strength to stop my own children.

— We spent our whole lives complaining about samurai, hoping that they would do something for us. You have to act like Hyakkimaru and snatch happiness from the gods with your own hands. — [Reader] clenched her fists.

— Then we have to be stronger — the girl said.

— But also careful. You saw how they fought. Too much force can make you lose your humanity — the monk added.

— Strength alone is no threat if you have a heart. And my brother has it! We have to start taking action.

The girl recalled the image of the carnage he had caused a few months earlier and wasn't sure if she should nod.

— I think we all agree.

— The hill is on fire! — Someone shouted from the small crowd.

Everyone turned their heads as if on cue. Flames consuming the palace could be seen nearby. Clouds of smoke rose up and from behind them, silhouettes of people running away in panic could be seen.

— Let's go!

— Don't lose your humanity. Let them take away your eyes, ears and hands. You don't need them. We will be your eyes, ears and hands if necessary. Don't become a demon, Hyakkimaru —  [Reader] prayed. 

— Who do I look like, Hyakkimaru? — [Reader] asked jokingly, trying on a kimono at one of the stalls.

— Mom — he replied, pointing at her.

—  Mother? — she sighed indignantly. — I'm not old! How dare you...

— Dororo. Told. Mom. Cooking. Washing. Hugging. Warmth. Love.

— After all, I'm not yours... Anyway, it doesn't matter. — She waved her hand.

However, a gentle smile appeared on her face.

again these are the kinds of things I think about from Barb's end on the whole pressuring Ted back into his costume. She doesn't want to be tech support she wants to be on the field with like half the writers for her Oracle run. And sure some of them are just kinda ableist.

also Barb took one break date and the Joker starts a prison riot

also all of these villains just… following the Joker's lead even tho they should know it wont go well if they do and it doesnt b/c he jokerizes them all (which makes them more dangerous b/c the Jokers just the biggest bad ass ever right after Batman) of course the metagene inhibitor gas mixed with the compound that made the villains throw up turns into Joker venom for reasons

totally the prison using those to control the dangerous super prisoners wouldnt have tested shit out b4 hand

and joker venom makes everyone joker b/c reasons even the folks that are not human or have radically different anatomy and physiology due to their meta powers

Also I like how Batman and Nightwing have no issue outrunning a gravity well but the Bug, a vehicle that is built with an antigrav device that is literally how she flies has an issue escaping from a gravity well

just the fact that no one is allowed to upstage Batman, the Batman understudy, or the Joker and how obviously other heroes have to get nerfed to make this happen or how other villains have to get turned into Joker to make shit happen is just so… blatant

Worst of all, our dear Empress gives each and every plushy a good night kiss, it's a long process. And only AFTER every plush has gotten its goodnight kiss, do any of the actual courtesans get theirs.

First character background for the Fairytale AU: Lhikan

Shout out to @chancetimespace for helping me kinda figure this out because Lhikan's story is definitely one of the more interesting in this AU

Y'all ever heard of Will and Elizabeth from the Pirates of the Caribbean?

Well, Lhikan used to be a blacksmith, one that worked specifically under the king, making weapons for his guards and knights, even swords for the king himself; "All your men have a weapon. It's only for you get one, your Majesty."

Like Will Turner, Lhikan was also GOOD with these weapons, which was something the King Mata Nui took notice of and tested by having Lhikan duel a few of the knights. It and Lhikan's nature of protecting others and being bound by honor and duty made earned Lhikan a place as a knight.

In time, he would rise in ranks to be essentially a white cloak and was appointed to be a part of Mata Nui's Kingsguard, being the King's hand as Mata Nui knew something was afoot, especially when he felt himself grow weak, in the presence of his brother, as well. It made Lhikan more alert than ever and led him to start looking for answers, seeing the King grow weak and the people be treated more like prisoners of the land. It really came to a head when someone tried to kill him and instead led him to the truth as to what was really going on.

It also led to him being framed for the King's death, and having his titles stripped and handed instead by his replacement and the 'Sheriff of Nottingham' character, as well as the guard of Teridax's friend The Shadowed One: Sentrakh, who is also tasked with killing the witness of Teridax's crime- I mean, Traitor to the crown.

Why did I bring up Will AND Elizabeth?

Well, before he left, Lhikan had to say goodbye to someone: Naho, who had been fostered by Mata Nui, but is related by blood to The Shadowed One. She knows he's innocent, but Lhikan refuses to let her follow him; a life on the run is no life for a lady, and not a life she deserves.

There's more to their conversation(We'll get there when we get there😉), but ultimately Lhikan departs, Naho making him swear he will stay alive long enough to see the King return or to see a new King rise and bring light beack to the kingdom.

After that, Lhikan's life is indeed spent on the run. He goes by no name, not wanting anyone to put two and two together and realize who Teridax says he is. He also never stays long or sleeps in taverns; he did have a night or two where Sentrakh or someone else found him and tried to kill him and he had to leave in a hurry.

He often leaves towns better than when he found them; he ensures what was stolen from the people to help them survive is returned to them, he discretely reveals when the village leader is about to sell the sons and daughters just to ensure he himself will be okay for a few months, he clears people's names when they are about to be executed.

He never stays long enough to hear when people realize who he really is and that he couldn't possibly have killed the King, never hears them pray for his safety and be grateful there is a remnant of the old world left in the form of the former knight, never hears when people raise their drinks and toast his name, raising their glasses to his honor and wishing he get justice for what has been done to him and what was taken from him.
