Yeah, Kamala is better than the orange, but we cannot let her sleep on this. Being better than a fascist here at home does not excuse her for supporting fascism abroad.
Is it really just brown people scary? It's gotta be more than that.

Quote
That's according to the Chattanooga Times Free Press, which recently reported that the Tennessee Federation of Republican Women (TFRW) included the Hitler quote when arguing for the importance of influencing the next generation from an early age. The paper reported that the TFRW recommended books by Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) and former Second Lady Lynne Cheney, among others. While the post on the group's website has apparently been deleted, an archived version of it shows that the reading list, which was entitled "Growing American Patriots Through Literacy," quotes the Bible immediately before quoting the Nazi dictator who ordered the murder of six million Jewish people during World War II, and committed acts of genocide against other marginalized groups. The group referred to him an "intelligent leader." [...]"Proverbs 22:6 teaches us that if 'we train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.' Hitler and all intelligent leaders throughout history have understood that the way to change a country was through the training of its youth, to get them while they are young," the TFRW wrote.

BONUS FILLER CHAPTER 5.5: Lacarde's biology class
(Warning: please don't read this)
The next day, Rogue was on his way to class. He walked in and froze as he saw who the substitute teacher. Mr Dragneel. The reason this was so bad was because today was the dreaded day they were receiving the dreaded sex talk. Rogue sat at his seat and his cheeks went red at the sight, on the board was big cursive writing that said “Sex”. In the corner was Mr Dragneel’s full name, also in cursive, “Lacarde ‘Sex Man’ Dragneel”. Nobody else calls him that but him, he’s a janitor for dragon's sake. He isn’t qualified for this talk. But then he began speaking.
“Hello students! Your previous teacher was unfortunately found to be ill from a certain poison. So that means that I, the sex man, will teach you about” Lacarde hit the board with a stick, pointing to the word “sex”. Upon further inspection, there was a sheet of black paper covering up the other half of the board, which perplexed Rogue, also making him blush with anticipation. He couldn’t help but look at Sting to see if he was as embarrassed as Rogue was. Of course not, Sting was amazing, he was practically laughing. Then Mr Dragneel pushed the sheet of paper away to reveal in big bold letters the word “GAY”.
“That’s right, ladies, you can all step outside because this lesson is for the men of the class” Mr Dragneel said, opening the door and watching as all the girls of the class begrudgingly left. “There, now. What is sex you may ask. Well, when 2 men love eachother very much, they go at it real hard and ############# ################ #################################### and then they ########### ###### ######### ###########. Now, I need 2 volunteers to demonstrate” Rogue could see doug out of the corner of his eye staring at him with his iconic smirk.
“Rogue Cheney, Grade A student, come up, I need to demonstrate how to go at it with a man safely so they don’t end up pregnant. Sting Eucliffe, you can come up too.” What a coincidence. The two reluctantly went up to the front, side by side. Rogue thought correcting the teacher might be a good idea to clear something up.
“S- s- sir?” Rogue said, getting Lacarde’s I mean sex man’s attention, “I- I don’t think men can get pregnant…”
Lacarde slapped the back of Rogue’s head. “Wrong! I have made many men pregnant in my adventures!”. Sting snickered and rogue blushed, looking down, ashamed of himself. “Now Rogue! Turn around for us to continue the demonstration!”.
Rogue slowly rotated 1 degree at a time when the bell suddenly went off, saving Rogues life.
“Alright fine, all of you get out of here!” Lacarde said annoyed, “You’ve escaped the sex man for now, but let me tell you it is not the end!”
(This isn't really tropey per se I just had the idea and wrote it)

People are probably going to ignore this, but I think writing this out will be cathartic.
Today is the day - when Americans decide who will lead them for the next four years. Trump fans are Trump fans and nothing I say will convince them to be anything but. This post isn't for them - it's for people who are willing to throw their votes away because they hate both candidates.
This is what the Republicans want.
This is a popularity contest and they are counting on you to find both parties conceited jocks but, because one jock has promised THEM protection, they will vote for him.
Yes, the Harris/Biden institution has done questionable and some downright wrong things. But are those wrong things worse than a man who disrespected veterans, has badmouthed Muslims, has stated he will put a nationwide ban on Abortion, remove health care for the elderly and trans people, blamed the nations problems on immigration when there is a well-known lady in the New York harbour that offers the world "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe freely", and a multitude of other things that will hurt everyone who isn't a White Anglo-Saxon Protestant?
Trump is not for the working man; he's for himself.
He took files concerning the safety of the country home and left them in unlocked rooms such as his closet.
When he lost the last election, he incited people to storm Capitol Hill to overturn the election - an act that is treason by the constitution.
He walked into the changing room of Miss. Teen USA.
Has threatened Marie Yovanovitch.
He threatened Liz Cheney.
He hates homosexuals.
Called Mexicans rapists.
Told people to swallow bleach during the pandemic.
Ordered Pennsylvania to stop counting votes.
Won't allow abortion even in the event of rape - and just a friendly reminder that menstruation can start as early as 8 years old.
And this is only off the top of my head - this isn't who is the best, it's about who is the lesser of two evils.
Please vote. This is incredibly important.

Dazzler, Lila Cheney, Domino, Strong Guy, Shark Girl and Multiple Man are on the Forever Ship (the starcruiser made with Krakoan technology) where they are investigating on which culprit is behind the sabotage of the concert. However, Lila Cheney takes Dazzler to the last functioning Krakoan portal which teleports them to Tokyo so that they could work out the stress from recent events. Dazzler and Lila Cheney are having a good time in Tokyo but unknown to them, Arcade is watching them from the cameras.
Just as Dazzler and Lila Cheney could race around the city in go-karts, they get attacked by Arcade's henchbots. One of the robots shoot Lila Cheney with the Blightswill to prevent her from escaping the arena via teleportation. Arcade claims that even though he is not the one who sabotaged Dazzler's concert, he wished to do that because he likes to cause trouble for fun. Dazzler and Lila Cheney are chased around by the robot ladies and Arcade's Murder-Kart until they split up to slow down the pursuers. Lila Cheney reaches the spiky wall and climbs up but she gets shot in the shoulder by one of the robot ladies. The other spiky cube is about to fall onto Lila when Dazzler comes in to destroy it, saving her just in time. Just as Dazzler and Lila Cheney get cornered by the robot ladies, they are saved by the timely arrival of Multiple Man, Domino and others. Even though Dazzler and Lila Cheney are safe, their potential concert in Tokyo is still cancelled because of the damages in the city (with no thanks to Arcade). However, not all hope is lost as Dazzler, Lila Cheney and their band are able to perform their concert in Madripoor two days later.

Robert Reich:
Friends, Mark Robinson, the GOP gubernatorial candidate in North Carolina and current lieutenant governor, is in trouble again. Not just because Robinson has referred to himself as a “black NAZI” and a “perv,” expressed support for reinstating slavery, said he watched transgender pornography, called homosexuality “filth” and the Holocaust “hogwash,” and has asserted that “some folks need killing.” He’s in trouble now because he blew off a vote on a declaration that would have granted Governor Roy Cooper key emergency powers ahead of Hurricane Helene’s landfall. Robinson was the only member on the Council of State — a board of nine — who didn’t vote in favor of the declaration. Cooper got the power he needed, but Robinson is now criticizing him for not doing more in the wake of the storm.
Yet Robinson still commands the support of 63 percent of Republicans in North Carolina, according to an East Carolina University poll released Wednesday. Something seriously troubling has happened to the Republican Party. It’s become filled with wacko candidates for office who are being supported by large percentages of Republican voters. The trend started in the 1980s with Rush Limbaugh’s radio program, which attracted a wide audience with a toxic mixture of lies, conspiracy theories, fear-mongering, and thinly veiled racism. It accelerated in 1996 when Rupert Murdoch hired Roger Ailes to emulate Limbaugh with a new TV channel, Fox News. Additional media imitators followed.
The growing supply of this poison offered the (predominantly) white working-class an easy explanation for why the wages and status of many blue-collar men had hit the skids: They could blame immigrants, Black people, Latinos, “coastal elites,” government bureaucrats, pedophiles, women, secularists, Muslims, liberals, Democrats, and Satan. In the 1990s, Newt Gingrich saw an opportunity to build the Republican Party around similar lies and conspiracy theories. Gingrich’s efforts attracted the first group of modern crackpot candidates into the GOP.
Starting in 2016, Trump attracted another group, even wackier than the previous one. It’s become a doom loop. As both the demand and the supply of these lies, conspiracy theories, fear-mongering, and racism have grown, the Republican Party’s base has ventured farther from reality. Meanwhile, sane Republicans have left, reasonable people have drifted away, and normal Republican officials have been purged or voted out. If Trump loses the 2024 election, the Republican Party won’t change, because its base is filled with this poison. So it will continue to attract more crackpot candidates loaded with even more venom; it will nominate them, and some of them will win. In the current election cycle, the poison doesn’t begin or end with Trump. It includes a Republican vice presidential candidate who calls women who choose not to have children “childless cat ladies,” claims Haitian immigrants are eating people’s pets, won’t concede that Trump lost the 2020 election, and won’t commit to be bound by the outcome of the 2024 election.
[...] You see the problem. When the base of one of our two political parties both fuels and is fueled by crackpots, some of those crackpots get elected. The only way forward is with an entirely new Republican Party that rejects and detoxifies the old one and puts an end to this doom loop. Will Liz Cheney, Mitt Romney, and some as yet unknown young politicians lead the way?
Robert Reich has an excellent explainer in his Substack on how the GOP became the home of conspiracy theories of all stripes and where such thought is rewarded.

President-Elect Donald Trump’s landslide victory will likely go down in the books as the greatest political comeback in American history.
With every win, there is a loser. The biggest loser of the presidential race was Vice President Kamala Harris. But her failed campaign, once propped up by Democrats and media allies, also left many others with egg on their faces
Below are five big losers after Trump’s massive victory.
Media Elites
The credibility of the establishment media appears to have hit rock bottom after it tried to smear Trump as fascist and a threat to democracy.
In the final weeks before the election, the media tried to push several hoaxes. It claimed Trump called for guns to be pointed at Liz Cheney. But far from speaking about executing Cheney, Trump’s remarks were about the establishment’s willingness to send Americans to die in foreign wars.
It also pushed a Harris campaign narrative that accused Trump of wanting to “control” women’s bodies “whether they like it or not.” Trump’s full statement shows Trump said he would “protect” women from migrant crime and from foreign adversaries. Trump’s statement was not in the context of abortion.
The media also ran with an Atlantic story that cited “attendees” and “contemporaneous notes” of a meeting taken by “a participant,” that claimed Trump refused to pay for the funeral of U.S. Army soldier Vanessa Guillen in December 2020.
Americans already did not trust the media before the election. A Gallup poll in October found that Americans’ trust in the establishment media to report current events “fully, accurately and fairly” had plummeted to a record low.
Obamas
The Obamas’ massive effort to help the Harris campaign defeat Trump failed. The Obamas are the most esteemed members of the Democrat party after former President Barack Obama won in landslide victories in 2008 and 2012.
Barack Obama campaigned hard for Harris. He appeared to use every trick in the book to help Harris win, such as guilting black men for purportedly not wanting a woman president.
Former first lady Michelle Obama unexpectedly took to the campaign trail in the final weeks. During her rallies, she implied that people who don’t support Harris for president are sexist and racist. She also questioned if voters were “ready for this moment.”
Voters rejected the Obama’s scare tactics. Early voting data suggests Trump performed historically well with black and Hispanic voters.
Mark Cuban
Cuban, a never-Trumper, strongly backed Harris as a campaign surrogate. He appeared for weeks on high profile shows, trying to bridge the gap between business leaders and the Harris campaign. He claimed Harris was not an ideological politician and defended her refusal to answer policy questions.
In the last week of the campaign, Cuban delivered a large gaffe that galvanized Trump’s base. Cuban claimed on The View that Trump was never around “strong, intelligent women.” Conservative women immediately took to social media to condemn his remark. Trump slammed Cuban’s claim by stating “all strong women, and women in general, should be very angry about this weak man’s statement.”
Liz Cheney: Republican Benedict Arnold
Cheney, another Trump hater, made a Democrat alliance with the Harris campaign, and it backfired. Cheney campaigned heavily with Harris in suburbs of rust belt states. At each campaign stop, Cheney ripped Trump as a threat to democracy, a rhetoric that voters rejected on Election Day.
The failed alliance suggests Cheney might have actually helped Trump. The Democrat party is already asking questions about who is to blame for the failure.
“The thing that I’m really most curious about now is, where does the Democratic Party go?” Democrat Dan Turrentine, co-host of The Morning Meeting, said. “I think there’s going to be one side that’s going to say that the party did not, you know, Harris was howling around with Liz Cheney in the suburbs, talking to Haley Republicans and not talking to the progressive base, and the kind of RFK, Bernie Sanders, progressive part of the party, wound up in Trump’s camp.”
Joe Biden
Americans widely voted against four more years of President Joe Biden’s vice president. Under the Biden-Harris administration, costs increased by about 20 percent across the board, Russia invaded Ukraine, Hamas and Iran attacked Israel, illegal migrants invaded the southern border, and the nation suffered the deadly Afghan withdrawal.
Voters soundly rejected the Biden administration’s unprecedented tactic of waging lawfare against Trump. Never before had a nominee of an American political party been indicted by an administration’s Justice Department.
In addition to his shunned agenda, Biden, who Democrats have praised for stepping aside for Harris, will likely be viewed as a failed president because his chosen successor did not prevent Trump from completing the greatest political comeback in American history. Biden endorsed Harris, campaigned for Harris, and conveyed all his campaign money to Harris.
“It’s been a historic presidency,” Biden said Thursday. “Much of the work we’ve done is already being felt by the American people…”

GOP Convention:: Mike Luckovich
* * * *
LETTERS FROM AN AMERICAN
July 16, 2024
HEATHER COX RICHARDSON
JUL 17, 2024
The Republican National Convention is a moment to reintroduce Trump and MAGA Republicans to voters who have not seen them up close since at least 2021. So far, the convention has proved that the Republican Party is now the MAGA Party. It has not been a smooth unveiling.
Yesterday, just after House speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) announced that delegates were formally nominating Trump as the Republican Party’s presidential candidate, the teleprompter failed. Unable to continue without it, Johnson quickly left the stage. This was awkward, since two weeks ago, Johnson said on the Fox News Channel of President Joe Biden: “Unless the president is reading off the teleprompter, I don’t think he’s capable of making these big decisions and that is something that should alarm all of us….”
The teleprompter having been fixed, Johnson returned forty-five minutes later to introduce Iowa’s attorney general, Brenna Bird, who in turn began the process of nominating Ohio senator J. D. Vance for vice president. The last time a Republican vice presidential nominee has been named so late was 1988, and while announcing at the convention has the benefit of generating enthusiasm for the novel story, it has the downside of bringing an avalanche of opposition. Vance brought the latter.
He is very young—just 39—and has held an elected office for just 18 months, making him notably inexperienced for someone in contention for the vice presidential slot, especially behind a 78-year-old presidential nominee. In the past, he was a never-Trumper, saying that Trump “might be America’s Hitler,” “might be a cynical a**hole,” and is “cultural heroin,” “noxious,” and “reprehensible,” but he came around to embrace the Big Lie that the 2020 election was stolen and to say that if he had been vice president on January 6, 2021, he would have done what former vice president Mike Pence would not: he would have refused to count the certified electoral ballots for President Joe Biden.
Former Wyoming representative Liz Cheney, who was drummed out of the party for standing against Trump’s attempt to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election, wrote: “JD Vance has pledged he would do what Mike Pence wouldn’t—overturn an election and illegally seize power. He says the president can ignore the rulings of our courts. He would capitulate to Russia and sacrifice the freedom of our allies in Ukraine. The Trump GOP is no longer the party of Lincoln, Reagan or the Constitution.”
Both ends of the Republican spectrum have also expressed concerns about Vance. The far right has been vocal today about their disdain for Vance’s wife, who is the American-born daughter of Indian immigrants. “Do we really expect that the guy who has an Indian wife and named their kid Vivek is going to support white identity?” Nick Fuentes asked.
On the other side of the Republican spectrum, those who opposed Trump because of his extremism, especially on abortion, are unlikely to have their fears relieved by Vance, who has advocated no-exceptions abortion bans, that people stay in violent marriages, and said: “We are effectively run in this country…by a bunch of childless cat ladies who are miserable at their own lives and the choices that they’ve made. And so they want to make the rest of the country miserable too.”
But for all the talk of unifying the country since last weekend’s shooting, Trump did not pick Vance to bring Republicans together. His selection of Vance reinforces that the MAGAs have taken over the Republican Party with an ideology that rejects democracy in favor of Christian nationalism. Vance has repeatedly elevated Hungarian prime minister Viktor Orbán’s destruction of democracy in favor of a strong leader imposing Christian family structures, ending abortion rights, enforcing anti-LGBTQ+ policies and encouraging attacks on immigrants, and seizing universities. Heritage Foundation president Kevin Roberts, who is also aligned with Orbán and was key to the production of Project 2025, which echoes Orbán’s co-called “illiberal democracy,” cheered Vance’s selection.
On Monday the convention approved a platform, the document that outlines the party’s position for the administration they hope to put into power. The evolution of Republican platforms since 2016 shows the evolution of the Republican Party. The 2016 platform fell pretty much within the norms of the genre, celebrating the nation and attacking the opposition before calling first for tax cuts—standard fare for Republicans since 1980—open markets, and deregulation of business and finance, as well as a smaller government. It called as well for an end to gay marriage, protection of gun ownership, and opposition to abortion.
In 2020 the Republican Party did not write a platform, simply saying “[t]hat the Republican Party has and will continue to enthusiastically support the President's America-first agenda.”
In 2024 the Republican Party platform reiterates the points of a Trump rally. Its capitalization is erratic, as his is, and it is full of sweeping and often incorrect statements. Rather than celebrating the country, it warns that “we are a Nation in SERIOUS DECLINE. Our future, our identity, and our very way of life are under threat like never before.” It promises that, under Trump, “We will be a Nation based on Truth, Justice, and Common Sense.”
The only real sign of the old party is the platform’s promise to make the Trump tax cuts, which have already added $2.5 trillion to the national debt, permanent. Otherwise, the platform is a MAGA document. It portrays a world that reflects Trump’s dystopian vision rather than reality, then promises to fix that dystopia either with vague promises or with culture war victories. In odd passages, it promises to do what Biden has already done: conquer inflation, bring supply chains home, revive manufacturing, and save the auto industry.
The speakers at the convention have largely been MAGA extremists, and the picture they painted of the United States echoed Trump’s. They portrayed a country in decline from the heady days of the Trump presidency, but their image was not based in reality. Virginia governor Glenn Youngkin, for example, claimed that “Women, Black Americans, Hispanic Americans, Asian Americans all saw record low employment under Donald J. Trump,” when in fact those record lows have come under Biden. Former CEO of Yammer, South African David Sacks, echoed Russian talking points when he blamed Biden for provoking Russia to invade Ukraine. Tennessee senator Marsha Blackburn attacked “racist DEI requirements.”
CNN fact checker Daniel Dale has been kept busy correcting the Republicans’ repeated lie that there is a violent crime wave in the U.S. under Biden; the opposite is true. Both violent crimes and property crimes have plummeted since the Trump administration. Republicans are also saying that Democrats “have eroded the American energy dominance that President Trump delivered.” In reality, while Biden is trying to shift the U.S. to renewables, Dale noted that “the U.S. under Biden is producing more crude oil than any country ever has… the U.S. is setting fossil fuel world records under this administration. The U.S. produced a global record 12.9 million barrels of crude oil per day in 2023, easily beating the Trump-era high of 12.3 million barrels.”
Today’s speakers included Nikki Haley, a last-minute addition to the program after the events of the weekend in an apparent attempt to create a sense of unity. She made a good pitch but didn’t convince everyone: there were scattered boos at her appearance. Her speech was the high-water mark of the unity effort tonight; the rest of the speakers hammered the idea that the country is divided in two and that Trump’s opponents are persecuting him. They singled out the media as a key enemy.
The bitter rift between establishment and MAGA Republicans has been evident in other ways, as well. Attendees booed Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) when he pledged Kentucky’s votes to Trump, from whom he has kept his distance. MAGA congressman Matt Gaetz (R-FL) interrupted CNN journalist Kaitlan Collins when she was interviewing former House speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) to taunt McCarthy by pointing out that he had not been asked to speak, adding that if he had been, “You would get booed off the stage.” Gaetz was behind the move to throw McCarthy out of his office, and he resigned from Congress shortly thereafter. McCarthy reacted by noting that there is an ethics complaint against Gaetz for sleeping with a minor.
Trump has appeared at the convention with a large bandage on the ear he says was pierced by a bullet on Saturday. Journalists have begun to note that there has been no medical report of Trump’s injuries, an odd omission after the intense recent scrutiny of President Biden’s health.
Trump seemed oddly subdued on Monday and appeared to fall asleep during the proceedings. His wife Melania has not yet appeared at the convention.
Today, presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s son Bobby Kennedy III posted a video of a call Trump made to his father in which Trump appeared to try to win Kennedy’s support first by appearing to support Kennedy’s opposition to vaccines and then by suggesting that he could get Kennedy a job. “I would love you to do something,” Trump said. “And I think it’ll be so good for you and so big for you. And we’re going to win.” He also noted that Biden had called him after the shooting, saying “it was very nice, actually,” and that the cause of the injury he sustained on Saturday felt like “the world’s largest mosquito.”

Who would you say are some exceptional female historians who've written about the US presidency?
There are scores of great female Presidential historians, so any quick list that I make will invariably leave deserving historians out and I apologize ahead of time. Before I begin the list, I want to give special recognition to one of the very best: Doris Kearns Goodwin's bibliography measures up against the books of any and all Presidential historians. Her first book, Lyndon Johnson and the American Dream: The Most Revealing Portrait of a President and Presidential Power Ever Written (BOOK | KINDLE | AUDIO) was originally published in 1976 but, in my opinion, remains one of the greatest Presidential biographies EVER written.
Others, in no particular order: •Margaret Leech •Amy S. Greenberg •Elizabeth Drew •Brenda Wineapple •Candice Millard •Amity Shlaes •Jan Jarboe Russell •Annette Gordon-Reed •Alexis Coe •Lady Bird Johnson (her diaries are priceless first-person accounts of her husband's Presidency and life in the White House) •Joanne B. Freeman •Lynne Cheney (surprisingly to most people, the wife of former Vice President Dick Cheney is a respected historian who has written excellent books on James Madison and the early Presidents from Virginia) •Fawn Brodie •Aida D. Donald •Kate Andersen Brower •Elizabeth Brown Pryor •Peggy Noonan •Nancy Gibbs •Nancy Isenberg •Susan Swain •Margaret Truman •Edna Greene Medford

Old lady on tumblr rambles again
Hi again, people younger than 30, it's your rapidly-aging-due-to-stress aunt on Tumblr.com. Our country sucks at teaching even recent history, and I'm young enough that it's still shocking to me that some of you were born post 9/11, so I'm going to muse a bit on the experience of being young in a Republican-dominated era.
The Bush II years were dark. The Iraq War started when I was a junior in high school, and I was the only person I knew who was even remotely politically aware. Back then, if you didn't "support the troops" or froth at the mouth for America, you were considered a dangerous freak. 2000-2008 was a very, very difficult time to be politically left in this country, and it was isolating and scary. Watch The Simpsons where they get sent to Guantanamo, seriously. (Honestly, watch The Simpsons from the beginning. Political satire is a great coping mechanism). My advice to you on an individual level, though the situations are not necessarily comparable, because That Fucking Guy is so much worse than even Bush II, who was one of the worst people on the planet (although a lot of the same fucking people have been syncophanting for the frothing Right this entire time! Look them up! Newt Gingrich! Karl Rove! Dick Cheney was around during Iran fucking Contra!), is: * Read books. I'm serious, you gotta do it. If you need help with attention or getting better at reading, there are kind and caring people who can do that. Please ask someone for help if you struggle with reading or attention. It's a prerequisite for getting through this with your sanity intact. You are scoffing, but I'm serious. Books. BOOKS. * Read about history. Read books by Black and Indigenous Women in particular for the most honest and incisive looks at this complex and frustrating country. Try going a whole year only reading books and articles by black women. * Find like-minded people and stick close to them. Keep your distance from people who will hurt you. If you have to interact with people you can't trust, keep it surface-level. Do not be afraid to cut ties with peers who are unsafe. There is a graceful way to do this by letting the relationship slowly die, and they don't need to know why it did. Finding like-minded people just to be friends or activity buddies with feels more achievable than "finding an organization" or "creating community." Make dinner for a few friends and talk about how you're feeling right now. Call a friend you haven't seen in a while and ask how their folks are, how their job is. Write a letter or a card to someone you love far away. * If you cannot travel for financial reasons, consume long-form media (especially independent films, books, poetry, comics, journalism, weird stuff made by other thinking and sensitive people) from other countries and other kinds of people inside your own country as much as you can. Learn another language to a deep level, it will open up your mind and world, and is just a useful skill to have. * Do not forget who you are, know what your values are, and stick to them when things are tough. When you feel like you can't fight or absorb anymore, take a break. Check out for a day, a week, a month, but as a rough guide try not to mentally check out for more than a month unless you are going through some serious shit like grieving a loved one. If you do that it will be very hard to find motivation to come back and keep doing the work.

Mrs Leslie Carter:
Apparently her ghost haunts the Theater Republic??? This isn't even really propaganda I just feel that more people should know of this. Gave me whiplash scrolling through her Wikipedia, which is perfectly normal, and then just getting to the section called "Ghost". But apparently she haunts this theater Phantom of the Opera style, they all blame her ghost if something goes wrong or goes missing

I didn’t have any of this on my 2024 Bingo Card
[1] Darth Cheney and I are voting for the same Presidential Candidate.
[2] Then I learn that back in 2019 Seth McFarlane in “Family Guy” accurately predicted Trump’s ‘empire’ at no more than $700M and all of it tied up in debt (could have saved me days to come to the same conclusions working through the details in Judge Engoron’s decision on the Motion for Summary Judgment.
[3] Now Melanie and I are in agreement that the gunfire incident on July 13 is suspect
“Now, the silence around it feels heavy. I can’t help but wonder why didn’t law enforcement officials arrest the shooter before the speech? There is definitely more to this story. And we need to uncover the truth,” Melania Trump says. The 20-year-old shooter was able to fire off multiple rounds from a nearby rooftop before he was killed by law enforcement officers.
======================================
In the “Family Guy” episode referenced Peter’s accusation that “you’re cash-poor” prompts a fist fight with the Mango Mussolini.
At one point Melania hands Peter a golf club and the promise of a sex if he gets rid of Trump.
Melania may be hoping for a ‘Peter with a golf club’ criminal investigation accelerate her and Barron’s futures post-Trump?
So Melania may also be thinking but not saying that what a GREAT COINCIDENCE it was that
[a] the shooter had an ultra-right internet footprint
[b] just when Trump was facing a ultra-right anti-Trump-as-candidate uproar in the RNC in two days by the anti- abortion crowd over Trump’s waffling.
[c] the BS photo op of six Secret Service Agents allowing the defiant fist in the air exposing Trump’s head and chest to potential accomplices.
[d] an ultra-conaervative shooter worked the miracle of getting ultra-conservatives to shut up and seeth in private at the RNC (Cancel Culture!)
That’s one scenario.
On the other hand Dark Money may be worried that Trump has the six Opus Dei SCOTUS judges on his enemies list for turning down his plea not to release his taxes to New York State.
Weisselberg flipping, criminal conviction of Trump Payroll Co on 17 counts of tax evasion, the bank fraud Civil case, the Felony convictions (for falsifying financial documents NOT for paying hush money). Probably the $100M IRS tax lien on Trump Chicago gisxa result of info shared by Leticia James.
An ultra-conservative kid who worked for big hedge fund spraying bullets overhead [**] may have been meant as a warning not to mess with SCOTUS.
I don’t see any scenario in which the Democrats see an advantage in Trump as a martyr - the Dems raise too much money from being the only other choice in thd 67th or 68th ‘most important election of your lifetime.’
As long as Trump’s alive inspiring MAGAs will energize voting the local theocratic patriarchal narcissus out of local and state offices 2026 &. 2028.
Obviously by the time the RNC Harris was already in as the new candidate. Assassinating Trump would have killed the pure joy of his being gobsmacked by the old switcheroo right after the RNC. Joy anticipated from Dark Brandon on down.
Whatever the scenario those Secret Service agents are too well trained in what to do. Whatever that was thatthe world saw on July 13 had to be a deliberate violation of massive amounts of protocols.
In every scenario but the lone gunman vs the Keystone Kops there will be an ongoing murder investigation.
Someone is going to flip because it’s life without parole.
There may already be a sealed grand jury indictment. One of which lists Co-Conspirator #1?
Such an indictment may remain sealed until after the Election for the same reasons the Court acceded to postponing Trump’s Felony sentencing.
I have an unsealed indictment on my 2024 Card.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
[**] Within a one or two second window of time while being caught in the Butler police/SS counter sniper crossfire the kid fired a seven shot burst.
He would have had it already set for a burst rather than targetting Trump.
Experts have trouble with bursts

Monday, September 9, 2024 - Kamala Harris & Tim Walz
Today in the campaign brought together both Vice President Harris and Governor Walz in Philadelphia. Tomorrow is the Presidential Debate between VP Harris and Former President Donald Trump, so today was spent doing the final prep. VP Harris is feeling confident in her abilities after the rigorous review of Donald Trump's prior debates. Additionally, she has had many mock debates with various campaign surrogates and staffers as well as Former US Representative Liz Cheney.
While the campaign Staff, the VP, and Governor did the prep. Doug Emhoff and Gwen Walz spent the morning volunteering at a local homeless shelter, Philly House. This was an important event for the Second Gentleman and the First Lady of Minnesota as the two plan to work closely together on various issues, if the campaign is successful.

What is your favourite Doctor Who story?
Tumblr media
ROUND 1 MASTERPOST
synopses and propaganda under the cut
Dreamland
Synopsis
During a visit to a local diner, the Tenth Doctor stumbles upon a mysterious alien artefact that leads him on a mission to rescue Rivesh Mantilax from the threat of the Viperox and the clutches of the American military.
Propaganda
Literally a doctor who area 51 episode. It's done in the WORST 3d animation possible and looks horrific. The story is completely uninspired and terrible, the characters are flat and uninteresting. It was so bad that it has practically been erased from existence. HIGHLY recommend watching it with friends because it is the absolute funniest thing i've ever seen. (@Alexmey-does-an-arts )
Real Time
Synopsis
On a planet known only as Chronos, two scientific survey teams have vanished. Inexplicably. Without warning. But with just one clue supplied - a single screamed word: "Cybermen!"
The University they worked for has called in the Earth security forces who despatch a third team, a mix of military and scientific might, under the auspices of a University Administrator. If that kind of volatile grouping isn't bad enough, three strangers have been added to the mix - a young human expert in Cybermen and a mysterious traveller in space and time, the Doctor, along with his companion, Dr Evelyn Smythe.
But can they solve the riddle of the vanished survey teams before the Cybermen harness Chronos' unique temporal gifts and rewrite the history of the galaxy?

Ronald Rat Continuity Announcement
Synopsis
The Sixth Doctor disdainfully introduces an episode of BBC3's Roland Rat: The Series, and then proceeds to inanely cry out "Yeeeaaah!" — Roland Rat's catchphrase.
After the episode finishes, the Doctor is awoken by the prodding of a pole. He recaps the audience on what they had been watching, and then excitedly tells them to switch over to BBC1 to watch Doctor Who, which he refers to as "the series". Ron Rat jumps up, calling Doctor Who "rubbish" — an act for which the Doctor attempts to shoot Ron with a ray-gun he just happens to have on his person. Fortunately for Ron, the Doctor is a lousy shot.

The Man from M.I.5
Synopsis
MI5 agent Jimmy Bondson asks for International Rescue's help to locate the stolen plans for a nuclear weapon which threatens the safety of the entire world. Lady Penelope assumes the identity of a leading fashion model investigating the crime to lure out the culprits but is kidnapped and restrained aboard a boat with a bomb set to detonate. Scott and Gordon have little time to find and rescue her, as well as to steal back the plans, before the boat explodes and the criminals escape.
Propaganda
The First televised appearance of the Dalek Emperor. In an episode of thunderbirds no less. A continuation of the regular Dalek/Gerry Anderson crossovers which had been happening weekly in the TVC21 magazine for a year or so by this point. It is just a decent Thunderbirds episode with a cameo of the Dalek Emperor. (anonymous)
