One gripe I have is that the LADS game doesn't have more story-unique soundtracks.

One of Rafayel's story parts lately has a whole few minutes of the arcade claw machine music 😭 on repeat,,, and they weren't anywhere near an arcade? Or playing games? It was just supposed to be lighthearted, and then the dialogue shifted to more earnest. It didn't reflect the moment at all. My brain stayed focused on "Is that the claw machine music?"

I hate to keep comparison to Hoyoverse but Hoyo has literally so many micro-pieces of mood music to set a tone.

You can reuse pieces of music, that's fine, but the intent needs to be there. There needs to be a new unique piece to fit that kind of moment, or don't fill the space at all. Filling the space with music that doesn't fit is worse than silence.

every time i see fic where mustang procrastinates on paperwork and riza has to scold/nag/threaten him into doing it i have to click away immediately. like, either tag your 03 works correctly, or watch brotherhood/the manga again. mustang’s procrastination is very clearly shown to be a facade. hawkeye being his babysitter is very clearly shown to be a facade. in fact i want to point out this brilliant moment in episode 31, after the team is reassigned and riza comes to his office to pick up some books. they banter about their very macabre secret promise like dweebs, and then riza opens the door before turning to tease roy about his paperwork. even at this point, they’re keeping up the facade for the benefit of anyone else listening.

When most people ranted, their emotions were stuck firmly in -annoyed!- mode. Sam drifted constantly between -annoyed!- and -frustrated!- and, surprisingly, -jealous!-. It was a rainbow of emotions tapping gently against his nerves.

Real Life by @cordria is the fic that hooked me on spooky!danny fics. Ghosts are blind and feed off emotions. Everything is deliciously tactile, and Danny is Conflicted.

After Andrea casually mentions making contact with Gabriel during a séance, a freaked-out TK becomes convinced that Gabriel has returned with unfinished business relating to his almost-son-in-law, and dreams and reality begin to blur. Are there ghosts, or is it always grief? What is a trick of the light or a fault in the shadows? And what would dead silence say back if it could speak?
