I wanted to share some of my favorite recent pickups for the nintendo switch!
Labyrinth of Galleria, Gris, and Celeste are all games I was lucky enough to find at our local game store!
Ministry of Broadcast is one I had been keeping my eye on for a while, but when I saw it at the Midwest Gaming Classic in May I wasn’t able to pass it up. I’ll be posting about some of the Indie games I saw there once I get all the information organized!
Ib I found on playAsia! I saw it while scrolling through and I’m so happy to get it. The art book is in Japanese but it’s still cool to have 🧡

Years ago, for what it felt like the span of an Ice Age, I was encased in a ludicrously dense, obtusely designed Dungeon Crawler RPG that harshly tested my sanity, my spirit, and my body. Now, I seek to play its sequel. Can I survive the Nightmare once more?
Join me on this accursed thread as I journey through the abyssal depths of the “Labyrinth of Galleria” and live to tell the tale - hopefully.

labyrinth of galleria is truly innovating in the field of "Jesus Christ what the fuck was I doing in this game when I last played it half a year ago" by giving you not just
- customizable party members
- customizable party configurations with different set abilities based on layout
-max of like 45 characters deployed in the party at once
- highly specialized and min-maxed equipment
- having to reset characters into different classes when they hit level cap so as to make them stronger, thus requiring shifting everything around to ensure equipment / positioning reflects the current class makeups as dispersed among the 30-something puppets in the party
but also
- relationship status between the party members that are not always reciprocal
I open the character sheet on the puppets in a random brigade. I look at the backline support mage's stats. I notice she mostly just has a lot of "Teammate" / "Friends" statuses towards other dolls, with one or two "More than Friends?". I go, sure, and out of curiosity I check how other dolls feel about her
It's a line of like fifteen dolls that are maxed out with her that all say shit like "Hopelessly In Love" and "Burning Devotion" and shit. How am I supposed to factor this girl's fucking harem anime into my party comp when she has to get switched to frontline work. how did this happen

What are some video games that you really like?
Well, aside from the obvious--
I'm a bit of a sucker for fantasy-based farming sims that blend the harvest moon thing with dungeon crawling and stuff--so Stardew Valley, but I'd say what really scratches my itch in that regard would be Rune Factory 2 and Rune Factory 4! (Only played a bit of 1, never played 3, and 5 was handled by a different studio so it's. Hm.)
I'm also a Pokemon junkie, liking the mainline games as well as the Mystery Dungeon series--I'm a shameless Explorers stan, but I also like OG Rescuers just because of how easily broken and OP you can get in that.
I enjoy rhythm games as well, but I kinda stick primarily to Project Diva for that--I've been playing Mega Mix on both the Switch and PC, but I think I like Project Diva X the best because it's the main game I played on console really getting into it--I also have WAAAAYYYY too many hours sunk into Project Mirai: DX because the portability made it easy to just pick up and play during lulls in high school.
Other games I've enjoyed have been Digimon World: Next Order, Labyrinth of Galleria: The Moon Society, and Trinity Trigger!

Note
Labyrinth of Galleria looks like it'll be available for download on the Switch! And more importantly it looks a LOT less deeply fucked up this time, I reckon I'm gonna buy it.
Did you see the labyrinth of galleria sequel is coming out soon ish? I remember yoj played the first game a while back
Oh, I did not know that! Labyrinth of Refrain had a terrible story, but the gameplay was fun. I don't know if Labyrinth of Galleria will come out to Australia, but I'll be sure to keep an eye out for it. Thanks for letting me know!
