okay, big q, think about this, bear with me, let me tell you a story and you can tell one back: you're in a nightmare. the alley's chill goes through whatever you're wearing at the moment (not important, don't mind the blood; you were a butcher, no?). you keep walking, it's the only way forward. are you afraid of the dark? surely not.

it's something about— snow, funnily enough. it's prone to swallowing up footprints. you could walk a thousand, million, whatever fucking miles and there'd be no proof of you ever being there.

i think it chases me. and i run terrified of what i'll be met with at the very top. even if i believe i want what's there more than anything else i've longed for in the past. maybe there's nothing waiting for me; maybe it's already been dusted into a perfected pile of flakes that reject your attempt at leaving a mark on this world.

jesus, i cover it up. i cover it up with sand, i threw it in the faces of people i thought loved me, i threw it in the face of peace, i spit glass and kick the remnants of myself into something that i wish wasn't snow anymore. i don't know.

it's something about snow. and it's something about sand, too. how something so soft could become so abrasive over time. over eons. decades. lovers, wars, betrayals, failures, the goddamn fucking political ladder that only showers you in blood for a celebration— multiple times.

i think it all ends up as snow after a while.

and maybe i should stop trying to force the sand into being what it's not.

man it might just be the hetalian in me but i'm literally just so fond of personified/sentient depictions of lmanburg and other dsmp nations like... fuck man its abt the love, hope, and dreams of people taking on the form of a physical being for them to nurture and protect and love, a being that loves them back (a being that forgives them, because they know how hard their people tried)
