Tia laughed in response. “Of course you are. About that, actually… you aren’t moving back too, right? I know you and Nicky came here together, but—“ Tia cut herself off, pressing her lips together.

“I’m not going anywhere,” Dame assured her, voice saccharine as she tucked a wayward curl behind Tia’s ear. “No need to be worried, mon ange.”

Tia’s eyes fluttered shut momentarily at Dame’s touch. “Good. I don’t want you to leave.”

Dame didn’t respond, locking eyes with a gorgeous woman who she hadn’t seen before who was standing near the door. “Tia, lovely chat but I have to run,” she said, eyes never leaving the strangers. Without waiting for a response, she set down her untouched food and slipped away.
