I would also like to see some miphlink, if that's okay!
I was really struggling with what to draw, and then I remembered your ask from ages ago (dang ADHD brain...) anyway, sorry its such a late answer, but Miphlink inspired by Dicksee's La Belle Dame

Pecco/Luca in that sappy style of French novel (La Dame Aux Camélias) because that's what 2am thoughts do to you. Also a big thank you to @topnotchquark for thinking this is a good idea :)))))))
So basically I'm thinking of Pecco as Marguerite, like he is confident but the confidence is not real, just a façade because people think he is. As you can see with Marguerite, because she is a sex worker, she knows her limitation and so does Pecco, and to feed into that stereotype Capricorn characteristics, he is also a controlled (?) person and hate the feeling of losing control, as you can see how Marguerite reacted about how she wanted things to work in her way (her meeting schedule with clients). Pecco, somehow, has that same thought (misinterpretation of him I know). I also mentioned about the feeling of undeserving when it comes to simple little life with the partner (in this case Luca) and run away because he cannot see himself with Luca in the future and thinking Luca deserves someone better. We cannot forget the self-destruction element of the sport and I THINK it suits the plot purpose. After he ran away, he starts destroying himself physically and mentally. So on and so forth, I mean the later part is pretty painful as he has to deal with self denial and also the pain of illness.
Luca, yes, Luca does not really suit Armand but I think the background is justified as Armand comes from a well educated family, same as Luca because his father is a psychologist. Let's just say it's love at first sight, Luca first met Pecco but not really in love with him, just curious about this boy and later in life being a hopeless romantic for him. I don't think he goes through what Armand went through after Marguerite rejected him. The point here is that they knew each other before this, and imo Luca is not a hot headed person like Armand so it's just the phase of self-doubt and not PDA with another person (or Pecco's rival if you think of it)
They had sex, yes and Luca loved it, but I think he is a possessive individual so thinking of Pecco with others make him kind of sick but he cannot do anything because it's not his problem. Realistically, he will promise to provide for Pecco as long as Pecco stops seeing other wealthy clients (we all know Luca is filthy rich himself but it's for the PLOT). At first, Pecco does not think Luca is serious about spending money to afford the luxurious lifestyle that he is currently living but Luca proved that he wants it, like all of it. So they buy that house in the suburb for just two of them (coping mechanism, not working because in Pecco's mind it's just not for him) and they invite the boys (the academy boys I don't know how to put them here). But as we know, it's not enough, mentally, Pecco just has that thought of undeserving of Luca's love and as many scholars on motogpblr said, repress his love for Luca (even deny it if given the chance). So he escaped that little bubble of paradise that they (mostly Luca but whatever suits) created and go back, all the good memories torment him so he just as I mentioned above. They do meet again after all the psychological warfare (Pecco is as sick as a dog but Luca does not know) and they do reconcile (you have to imagine the process).
That's what I can think of for now. I want to reread this novel once again to understand it better.
#pecco/luca#I'm sure this is not as good or as funny as I think it would be but the potential is there#I'm not a good writer this is my first time trying to write fanfiction or so#But hey I tried and I think it's working#And let's read La Dame Aux Camélias because it's good#the only good French novel to ME#writing experiment of an artist#la dame aus

I got really lucky at a charity shop today and I wanted to show!! I got a first edition French copy of La Dame Aux Perles by Alexandre Dumas (same guy who wrote the OG The Three Musketeers and The Count of Monte Cristo!) and an 1951 copy of Jane Austen's Emma!
I love Alexandre Dumas' works to death, especially The Count of Monte Cristo and La Dame Aux Camelias, so I was really surprised to find such an old edition, let alone in French, for only five quid. Let alone the old copy of Emma.
Are they musty? Yes. Is the cover coming off the spine? Yes. But is it cool to think I'm holding a book that has passed by hundreds of hands, sat on hundreds of bookshelves, and has survived two world wars?? Big yes!!
#I'm a massive old book collector so I got super excited when I saw these two#normally old hardcovers (especially any of Alexandre Dumas' works) go for 25-40 in the least so this was an absolute steal#I'd bring it into school to read but I'm very afraid to break it#but at the same time I'm thinking if it survived two world wars it can survive in my school bag y'know#also Emma had a name and a school signed on the front page!#it says it was given as a 'class prize for general good work' and awarded to a girl#I'm not putting the name up because it's a full name and I'm just a bit weary about it#anywho#quite happy :D#mel's thoughts#mel's photos#alexandre dumas#la dame aux perles#jane austen#emma (Jane Austen)

do you ever. Can’t figure out which translation to read. So you say fuck it. French time.
#honestly it feels like an inconvenience but everyone is like wow that’s kinda a flex#and I’m like. listen. I could read this book so much faster if I read it in English#but alas I wanted the more period language and place details while keeping the lesbians#I’m reading count of Monte cristo#I was reading the English project Gutenberg translation but some people on Reddit were talking about it might be slightly abridged#and the robin buss translation is easier to read bc it’s more modern language. but she cuts out some little details that I like to have#like one guy quoted the beginning where she says ‘the watchtower’ rather than ‘notre dame de la garde’ and like#I like that flavor! give me the flavor!#but she doesn’t censor the lesbians!#so here I am translating words that I don’t know like ‘wick’ and ‘gloomy’ constantly bc I decided to read in FRENCH like a PRETENTIOUS BITC#but also none of the English versions mentioned that this one lady has thin lips so#worth it to hear dumas call her a thin lipped bitch#also learning that his grandmother was a slave and he was black and then reading this is like. damn the main characters are super black#why are there all these white guys in the adaptation#(I know why)

In The Dark: Chapter 3
Ezra x f!Reader
Rating: Mature, age gap, mentions of drinking
a/n: taglist coming later - enjoy!
Chapter One I Chapter Two
The early morning light just beginning to seep through the blinds in your room, the small space is illuminated with a tinge of blue that washes over everything, including your slowly writhing form on the bed.
The sheets rustle against each other, your body covered almost completely by your thick, floral comforter and when it gets too hot under it, you restlessly kick it off before flipping over on your stomach.

so my knowledge about her is entirely limited to your posts, but may I request ophélie from la passe miroir for the character ask? 💌 very curious about this series!
Ah, I'm so happy that my posts got you curious about it ✨ (I’m also so sorry for the super late reply, but this week stuff just kept happening and I haven’t had a moment to write anything) Anyway! Thanks for allowing me to indulge in more obnoxious gushing u.u
Favorite thing about her: that she's devoid of any sentimentalism, even if the plot constantly puts her through super angsty scenarios. And that in her character arc of opening up to others and accepting the Mortifying Ordeal of Being Known, this part of her never really changes; she comes to realize that feelings are not necessarily melodramatic, that she can love and love deeply, but always in her own way
Least favorite thing about her: even though I really like the general theme of Thorn’s wounds running too deep to be magically cured by him falling for Ophélie, at times in tome 3 I did wish she wasn’t that accommodating to him. Which, again, is a fundamental point of her personal growth and objectively well done (and he’s like. very much accommodating to her as well), but there are a couple of specific scenes where it rubs me the wrong way a bit, can’t help it
Favorite line: Il n’avait pas le droit!!!! Character thesis statement. Iconique. Also, given that the whole series is her internal monologue, honorary mention to the resolve moment in the final paragraphs of tome 1
brOTP: so many to choose from, so I’ll go with: the scarf. Unironically one of my favorite characters.
OTP: Thorn, of course. I love that they’re one and the same obstinate communication disaster, that he realizes it almost immediately and does nothing at all to shy away from or hide his feelings, while she needs to go through her whole journey to understand and accept this new part of herself. Excited to read in which other way they’ll misunderstand each other in tome 4! (I’m not actually. Let them be content, at least for a while, please)
nOTP: given that Ophélie notp-ies herself with everyone aha I'd say Renard, Archibald, anyone of the dudes she forms a strong friendship with, basically (I’m not as opposed with the gals for some reason? But I’m also very monogamous with my ships, so still ain’t it)
Random headcanon: this may be more of a general lore thing because I also apply it to other characters, but the use of "of Anima" - ie the place she comes from - as a surname stand-in, Middle Ages style (mainly because I hate tagging characters with only their first name so I had to make something up aha)
(Wait, now that I think about it, they do use the Family Spirits names in the wedding ceremony... that's pretty much the canon equivalent of a surname... well, there goes my headcanon)
Unpopular opinion: welp, I don't even know what the popular opinions are, the fandom here is so minuscule aha. One thing may be that I'm very adamant about her being in her early twenties, or 19 at least? If she was a teen her uneasiness about romance/sexuality and frustration at feeling "half a woman" and "a child" simply wouldn't hit as hard
Song I associate with her: Alice's Theme by Danny Elfman!!
Favorite picture of her: this picture of an Edwardian young lady who looks precisely how I see her with my mind's eye, minus the scarf
Bonus: these stunning portraits by @fantasy-seal and Ilenia Pastore
#anyway there is much to chew in this series but I'd wholeheartedly recommend it even if only for the simple pleasure of reading#like I'm enjoying it immensely on an almost gut level - which prevents me to appreciate it fully in a way I fear?#and yet it feels amazing to be so sucked into a book#la passe miroir#ophélie d’anima#ask games#ophélie de dame artemis#...this actually sounds super cool I'm changing all the tags#@francophone friends: do you confirm that the correct titles for the family spirits are 'dame' and 'seigneur'#recensioni
