“OK call!” You answered.

It was a few minutes after the end of your work day, and some of your colleagues began packing up to leave for home, saying their goodbyes and ‘see you tomorrow’s.

Pshh… don’t wanna see you though. You thought, watching a condescending co-worker walk by.

You let your head rest on your desk at the office. Work was just too much for you to deal with today, and it wasn't over just yet. Just as you started to rest, you groaned as you heard a zoom call notification pop up on your laptop, thinking it was from a colleague from the marketing department trying to get to you. You accepted the call quickly using a keyboard shortcut by muscle memory, with your head still on the table.

“Baby.” The caller’s voice thundered amidst your quiet office. Realising it was Kyuhyun, you looked up quickly and gasped, fumbling to reach for your AirPods before you replied.

“Chokyu! I’m still in the office!” You whispered, looking around silently to see if anybody heard you.

“I know.”

“People could have heard you!”

“I know.”

“Should I put you on speaker then?” You asked strictly, yet playfully as a joke.

“… if you want to.” He says.

“Hmph. Not gonna.” You decided.

He laughs, sounding relieved. “Dinner? My place?”

“Tteokbokki?" You asked.

“No, I'm making something else tonight. Come quicklyyy-!” He dragged out his sentence, pretending to whine.

“What are you making?” You asked.

“Come home and find out.”

Home? You wondered, and smiled to yourself, even though you weren’t quite living together yet. “Kyu, did you forget? I have an event for tonight.”

“You do? But you didn’t tell me!”

“Check your calendar, baby.”

“Gimme a sec.” He says, as you see him reaching for his phone for his calendar app. Thank goodness you sat against a window, so no one could practically see your screen unless they squinted at the window’s reflection. Otherwise, it would be almost impossible to have a video call with him right in your office.

“Oh. You have a recording?”

“I do, yeah, it’s a marketing thing. With Junho.” You replied.

“Junho? You mean that guy we saw at the park the other time? Why him?” He asks, tone slightly annoyed.

“Are you jealous?”

“Pfft. Me? Jealous?” He scoffed. You looked at the screen and nodded with a smirk. He scoffs again. “No.” He replies bluntly.

“We’re doing a dance.”

“Huh.”

“We’re doing a dance. It’s for some company marketing thing to boost employment. Sounds ridiculous, I know.” You explained.

“A dance? Together?” He probes.

“Yeah it’s a couple dance thing.” You blurted.

“Couple da- What? And you need a dance for that because...?”

“Ask the marketing director.”

“Give me their email.” Kyuhyun says, impatiently. "Or better, their phone number."

He sulks, and you decided to tease him a little more, “They chose the prettiest lady and the most handsome guy in the company to do it.”

“Well, yeah, you’re pretty but… You... you think he’s handsome too?” Kyuhyun asks, amazed at what you had just said.

“Kyu… if you’re jealous, just say it.” You teased him again, laughing this time, at how cute he looked as he pouted and rolled his eyes.

“I’m nooootttt!” He drags out his words again.

Just as he says that, you see Junho approaching your table, looking at you with an eye smile. “Wait a minute.” You say to Kyuhyun, then quickly switched your browser tab to a work related one and pulled out one side of your AirPods, then smiled at Junho.

“Ready to go?” Junho asks. You nodded, almost ready to stand up as you receive a notification from Kyuhyun, which caused your phone to light up, showing your wallpaper.

You picked up your phone from the table, opening the message with the screen facing yourself so Junho couldn’t see. It was an emoji again. Kyuhyun: “:’(“

Junho smirks. “I didn’t know you’re a fan of Kyuhyun.”

You looked at the webcam of your laptop, knowing that Kyuhyun was still on the line, though your browser wasn't on Zoom. You smiled briefly into the webcam, then looked at Junho. “Is it that obvious?” You asked.

“Well yeah, you have him set as your wallpaper. Sorry for looking at your phone, though.” He says kindly.

“That’s okay. Yeah, I’ve been a fan for a while.” You giggled.

“<3” Kyuhyun sends another emoji.

“And you have pictures of him all over your desk. Also, sorry for paying attention to your desk.” He smiles sheepishly.

“It’s okay.” You replied, a bit touched by his sensibility.

“Would you date someone like Kyuhyun?” Junho asks swiftly, taking you by surprise.

“What?” You asked and laughed awkwardly. “Hah, no of course not. He’s too famous. And he’s not my type.” You lied. It was such a big lie, and you were afraid that Kyuhyun would be hurt over that.

“Is that so? Then are you single?” He asks.

You quickly pointed out the window behind you. “Oh my God! Junho! Look at that!”

As he turned to look outside, you quickly looked towards the webcam again, mouthing a “sorry!!” and held your hands in prayer to your chest. You received another emoji from Kyu.

“What am I supposed to be looking at again?” Junho says, still glancing out the window.

“Oh, hmm… I could’ve sworn I saw Girls’ Generation’s YoonA in the opposite building.” You said, pretending to look out.

He scoffs, but squints and pretended to look in the opposite building too. “Negative!” he confirms. “Anyway, back to my question.” Junho thinks. “What was my question?”

“If I was ready to go?" you tried to change the topic.

"No. It was... are you single?" he asks, smiling again.

"... I guess." you said.

"</3" Kyuhyun sent yet another message.

"Can I ask you out for dinner then?" Junho smiles, looking at you sincerely in the eye. "After the event."

"I..." you looked to the screen of your laptop.

"GUYS! We're late! Let's go!" The marketing assistant barges into your office and waves at you to leave. Junho smiles.

“Aren’t you going to close that zoom call? The recording light is still on.” Junho smirked and waved to the screen.

You quickly closed your laptop and followed behind Junho and the marketing assistant.

You realised Junho knew about you and Kyuhyun all along.

"Can you keep it secret? No one's supposed to know." You asked Junho for a favour.

He laughs. "Of course. It's not for me to say." He winks.

"Thank you." For a moment you were afraid he really intended to ask you out.

The rest of the crew in the room had been setting up for 45 minutes, as you waited and did the camera rehearsal diligently, waiting for Kyuhyun to respond to your messages you had sent a while back, asking if he was okay.

The camera crew signalled for the both of you to stand closer and you had to put your phone away. The both of you got ready as they counted down, before the recording started.

"Ready in 3, 2, 1..."

You both read and acted based off the script as you rehearsed, then came the game segments where you were supposed to explain and engage the audience with. It was a good 40 minutes until it finally came to the finale - the dance segment. You knew Junho had some kind of social media presence, which was why the team wanted to do something like that to boost awareness of the company. But you still felt that it was a little too extreme.

As the music began, you saw briefly saw the studio door open and close. Junho held your waist as part of the choreography, and as he spun you around, you caught a glimpse of a familiar figure standing near the door. The rest of the crew stared at him, wondering why a celebrity had just stepped into their studio.

Kyuhyun stood at the entrance, evidently frowning. You tried looking away as you continued with the sequence. Your heart started beating faster knowing Kyuhyun was looking at you, but took a few more steps to attempt finishing the original planned choreography. It didn't take long before he stormed towards the both of you, with the staff trying to hold him back, and Junho knew to let go in seeing that reaction. Kyuhyun held you quickly in turn and switched it to his own choreography. The music was slow yet cheerful. It felt like time stopped a little. Chokyu, what the hell are you doing? You thought. But it felt a little too romantic to let go at that moment.

He was finally ready to let some people know about your relationship, you thought. Though unplanned, you could almost follow his lead as he danced in a slow pace. Before you knew it, the music ended, with everyone else in the room watching you. Applause roared through the room as you stopped.

"What's gotten in to you?" You asked him, knowing it was unlike him to be impulsive like that.

Kyuhyun seemed to then have snapped out of a trance, looking at the crew, then back at you. You booped his nose, unable to hold back because of how cute he looked in the moment. "My jealous baby."

He smiled sheepishly and pecked you on your cheek.

"Can you cut that part out?" Kyuhyun asked the crew.

"We can't cut that out." The marketing director comments.

“Please keep it a secret? You guys can know I guess, that's fine.” He says to the rest of your department.

“It’s a broadcast though.” You laughed.

“A WHAT? Baby, you said RECORDING!” Kyuhyun whispered (loudly) and pulled the both of you out of the frame.

“OMG! He called her baby!” Another colleague squealed in excitement.

"This is what you get for being jealous, Kyu... and shouldn't you know what a livestream set up looks like after years of being an idol?" you teased, but he stays silent for a few moments. "Sorry for making you jealous." you said, returning him a kiss.

Before you knew it, the livestream comments were going crazy. And the marketing manager stood there clapping while the audience numbers rose like no tomorrow.

It was never a coincidence; it couldn’t be one. For years, wandering through the realms of humanity, making contact with a human more intimately than merely drinking their blood was a task that demanded much of Song's energy — an unnecessary energy, according to him. Yet, someone as special and strong as he was, he had a visceral need to engage in activities beyond the endless paintings he had been creating for centuries. Minho could no longer endure the cold, which only ceased when he drank the blood of others, and even then, it was so exhausting, and he wasn't quite sure why. It had been years since Minho had genuinely connected with a human because, otherwise, Kyuhyun was the only vampire who had even minimal intimacy with the younger one, an intimacy built at great cost and with many reasons for them not to be so close. Minho was highly cared for by his clan because he was promised to be one of the strongest and most successful in terms of power. However, in Cho's opinion, Minho was useless, more specifically, a useless being that evoked both pity and envy in him. Kyuhyun wanted to be treated like him, to have the respect that spoiled child received wherever he went; he wanted to usurp Minho. Minho was, once again, lost in his drawings and reveries when Kyuhyun entered his room, hugging him from behind, sliding his arms over Minho's bare chest.

"He came to my mind again... This person..." Minho said, his voice almost sighing, nearly lost in Kyuhyun once again, staring at his painting in front of him.

Some years ago, more precisely twenty-two years ago, Minho began dreaming of a person frequently, and it became an obsession for him for a long time. At that very moment, they were surrounded by paintings of the same person with the same characteristics: the medium-length hair, the glasses, and the lips adorned the room meticulously, from frames, torn notebook pages, to walls... It was desperate to enter there.

"I've told you, this person only exists in your head, Minho."

"I don't think like that anymore."

"Why not?" he questioned, sitting on one of Minho's legs, looking at him.

"There are too many... coincidences..."

"What?"

"The features. They are always the same."

Kyuhyun didn't understand, but Minho wasn't talking about the physical features of that person; he was referring to his strokes. They were always the same, everything was so detailed, as if they had lived that life before and he couldn't remember.

“Ah~ I’m tired, Minho,” Kyuhyun complained, kind of exhausted from hearing him talk like that.

“You go rest, I’ll go out.”

“Where?”

He didn’t reply.

“Your mom will be mad at me; please don’t go too far.”

He didn’t reply.

Minho disliked the idea of doubt cast upon him, as if he were going insane, even if he truly was. He wanted to shut off his brain for just a second, but it was impossible. It hurt. It hurt deeply.

It was almost a physiological need to be close to something that at least reminded him of that person.

That person.

The chains echoed through the room while Minho was sitting on some type of throne, Kyuhyun by his side, sitting on the armrest. The screams were like a sweet delicacy that they didn’t know yet, but Minho was nervous. Anyone could feel it in the air.

It had been two days since they found that person, alive, living on the south side of their city. It was kind of impressive to see how much time it took to find her. Twenty-two years for her face to look exactly like what Minho would see every time he closed his eyes. Kyuhyun, on the other hand, was really pissed. He wouldn’t admit it, but he was mad at Minho finally having that someone who could indulge his passion and feelings.

Kyuhyun was jealous. That’s all.

— Why do you look so happy? — Kyuhyun said, his hand-fan blowing his face.

— What are you talking about? I’ve waited for this moment for years!

— I just think you shouldn't get so excited about something so stupid.

— Stupid? I don’t think you get what’s happening right now.

— Of course I understand! I've been listening to you talk about this person for years and you don’t even know who they are! Seriously, what is your problem?!

Kyuhyun almost didn’t have the chance to finish speaking because the room was invaded by the servants of that community pushing a wooden board, delicately decorated with a person, their arms and legs stretched and handcuffed against that board.

Minho got stuck.

It was all exactly as he knew it to be, and yet it was a surprise. The face, the hair, the body. Everything was exactly the way he wanted, as always.

He got up, walking towards the art, being able to touch him for the first time.

— It is such a pleasure to meet you… I’m sorry that you can’t say anything right now…

Cas was squirming under the strings, trying to get himself out purely out of desperation. Minho watched it patiently, as if his life depended on it. While this all happened, Kyuhyun was at the back, with some type of anger or equal desperation while watching the scene, which made him get up and walk towards them, still silently.

— Calm yourself down, I won’t do anything to you, darling.. — Minho touched Cas’s cheeks, caressing them. — I adore you more than you think, darling, you don’t have to worry, I won’t hurt you.

— Why are you treating this human like a king, Minho?

— Kyuhyun, you’re really getting on my nerves right now… — He said, dragging Cas to his realm where all of his art and paintings were. — … Of everyone in the world, I thought you would understand how important this is to me.

— Hm…

— Hm..? — He mimicked. Cas was looking everywhere for some place that didn’t have his face painted on it. It was impossible. — Darling, you’ll be there and I'll paint you one more time, looking at you. After that we’ll treat you so right… I promise you.

— Can I do something?

— You can… Help me with the expressions, please.

— I thought you wouldn’t want me to play with your toy just yet. — Kyuhyun said, walking around the scene, his hand fan traveling over Cas’s body, which immediately became sensitized. His eyes became red with the proximity, and suddenly a huge desire rose in Kyuhyun, as if Minho was controlling him to want more and more from the other boy. — Oh, fuck…

— Go for it, you’re allowed.

— By you? — Kyuhyun couldn’t take his eyes off Cas.

— She’s mine now. So, yes.

Kyuhyun didn't need another warning. In fact, it was quite simple, but the feeling of playing with someone you didn't know, better yet, who didn't belong to you, was divine. His hands let go of the hand fan, throwing it away so he could caress the boy's chest, looking at Minho as if asking for approval to continue, receiving a simple look from the boy who was drawing, walking slowly to a good spot so he could bite his neck, with an absurd slowness, wanting to stay there forever. Minho had made him feel like that moment was the best moment of his life, and Kyu hated when he manipulated him like that, but this time, it was more than bearable. It was good. It was amazing. Cas's blood tasted like something he had tasted a long time ago, which he didn't remember well until that moment.

Cas passed out.

Kyuhyun kissed him there.

Minho finished his painting, finally completing his collection of desires, ready for starting the new part of his process.

To the anon, if you were following JaeDo closely, Jae had expressed multiple times his jealousy and discontent on camera. Over the times, Jaehyun has that habit of pursuing/biting his lips with a poker face on whenever he sees Doyoung being openly affectionate with others but not him. if you search it on twitter, I've seen a lot of Jaedoists talk openly about Jaehyun's jealousy. Just to add my two cents as well, Renjun and Jaehyun aren't close. They're amicable (and there's a difference). Jaehyun dotes on him like a dongsaeng from the Dreamies, the same way that Doyoung does, but they're not close as Jaehyun is with Haechan, Mark, Jeno, or Jaemin. I can see though that Renjun is trying to approach Jaehyun more. But they do not hang out off cam nor would consider each other as someone who belongs in their close circle. Also, I don't see a lot of people talk about this Kyuhyun and Jaehyun interaction. Seems like Jaehyun is very well accepted by the Kyuline, huh. Haha, yeah, the boyfriend was definitely officially introduced to Kyu-line. Kyuhyun didn't just smile to a passing dongsaeng, he shouted in a surprise and pulled Jae's arm in greeting.

On Mokchu Haechan said he doesn't know many sunbaes. We see different stages of closeness among even NCT, same team (like Hendery and Doyoung vs Xioajun and Doyoung). If a senior shows recognition and distinction with emotions, then the different gens are closer than normally.

Thanks for the input on RenJae. You supported my suspicion. Jaehyun can give Renjun a piggyback on stage, but unless some TMI surfaces about them spending time together, saying they really became close is out of the question. Kun took Dreamies out to dinner after the concert, for example.

this is gonna be the silliest of text posts because i just wanna talk abt single's inferno s2

watched it because my sister wanted to and a coworker rec it to me so like ok watercooler convo

i mean: reality dating shows are manufactured and scripted as hell

and it was p obvious all of the contestants are basically there to promote their own career (except nadine, the harvard premed?? but my sister said this might be her legally blonde moment and she's just trying to get something interesting to talk abt her in college entrance essay)

but what fascinates me the most abt this show is the blatant performance???

like seul-ki, basically the main character of the show, performing femininity to the degree that 3 different men pursue her but none of them clocked that her act, maybe not disingenuous, but something she is tirelessly putting in effort to appear elegant, demure, shy, and lovable? like i'm so sad that she seemed to understand her value as a woman is limited and she will work to meet societal expectations of her because she has been rewarded with attention, affection, and popularity and in her own words "she always gets what she wants".

i am speaking from a place as an outside observer (as we audience do!) but i just wanna shake her shoulders and go "aren't you tired of being nice? don't you just wanna go apeshit?". but! they are in a reality tv show watched by millions. so perform they shall...

and don't let me start on the male macho kayfabe that most of the men are on ... esp jinyoung who wouldn't make his feelings towards seul-ki evident despite knowing from the start who he'd gravitate towards (hate his ass when he revealed his real job - seul-ki dodged a bullet).

and likeeee i know they are a viewers' favorite but sol-e x sejun are sooooo scripted. i mean he can only say one line abt why he liked sol-e like way to give away that he has been fed it by the writers. i do like the performance of their little romance tho. i'm a fool for down-on-their-luck girlies being spoiled silly what can i say!
