#kpop #this is my way of saying we got a ton of the new ateez album #and we still have lots of older releases you maybe haven't seen around for a while #i'd say come in and get RPWP but honestly there's only like 2 left although we did get back in a few copies of indigo lol #some stores have giveaways but it really varies - major markets will have better stuff sadly #our store got little bts stickers (i got a jimin!) and like 4 skz photocards and a couple nct keychains #but the box they came in was much bigger and mostly crushed by the time it got to us #so i think once again it got searched and snatched before it even made it to us #be sure to ask if you visit a store though! (the sale is still works for online orders) because you never know #our selection just keeps growing and growing but some things they send us SO much of #i put these out tonight so i KNOW what's available - we only got like 4 of the lp though and the jongho cd cover

Over the last two years I've really gotten into collecting kpop lightsticks. Something about highly decorative and expensive flashlights brings me an immense amount of joy so I don't question it and keep enjoying them.

It has led to me using them as regular flashlights, which is just so funny. But also so practical, plus now I can say I regularly use my collection. I can even use them as mood lighting because all but one have preset colors. The only downside is they use batteries and I keep forgetting to invest in new rechargeable batteries.

Anyways, I spent some time tonight working on a wrist strap for a lightstick I'm taking to a concert next Sunday by the light of another lightstick. Very full circle moment.

#i have 7 at the moment and intend to keep adding to my collection #I'm just going slow because i want to be sure I'm not bankrupting myself AND I'm still enjoying them #but next kpop purchase after some merch at the concert is going to be albums #but also i got 4 out of the 7 on sale #it's actually EXTREMELY rare for them to go on sale but I'm patient #my list is like 30 long for ones i want... some I'll never get but the others I'll just slowly work on over time lol

bc my thing is that if im gonna get an album i have to have had enjoyed it in the past. which is true for all the cds I own except for the world outlaw and will. which are the only two comebacks I have been w/ atz for. so.

i believe the single album term being used in or music releases is specific to just kr. since they use the world "album" to refer to any music that's released physically, that's how the distinction between what a single and a single album is usually determined. most of the time the single albums will have 2 or 3 songs total, n they can be all different or 2 new songs and the third is an instrumental of the song they promoted with. OR like chunga did with gotta go, it could just be an actual single that's also sold physically, since most true singles are digital only releases. i think that case is related to charting? since like gaon for example has a digital n album chart, n if the single is release physically it has the opportunity to chart on both rather than just the digital one. not too sure abt the last part bc idc abt streaming n charting LOL but yeah single albums confused me too until i asked some of my kr friends abt the nuances of that lol. it's similar to how "title track" is technically meant to refer to the song that the album is titled after but in kr music it's just the equivalent of a lead single/promoted song

yeah that makes a lot of sense! i am aware that there are differences between korea and US/western music in how they label things. actually last year i had a whole conversation with my roommate who's not into kpop explaining how title tracks mean something different compared to western music djfk

but even knowing there are differences it's still sometimes hard to know what they are or what they mean LOL. esp for me since i only follow SVT really closely so sometimes i don't know if certain things are just pledis being weird or if it's common in korea

but yeah i feel like all of that tracks with stuff I've seen from other groups 🤔

#melia.ask #izeden #another example would be how repackages are treated #like in the US the repackage is treated as the same album and like sales are combined for charting #vs in kr its treated as a separate album/release and charts seperately #it is interesting to see the differences but man does it get confusing some times #youd think after being a kpop stan for going on 7 years id know all of this stuff lol #but then again i mostly follow svt and this is their first time releasing a physical single album lol
