This Creators' Club was created by my dear friend @starryeyes2000. As part of her legacy, I was debating how I wanted to celebrate her. Starry was extremely supportive of everyone and their work. I would like to continue that.

You only have to read 3, but this is me trying to make sure you still get a fic you like if one of them fills up before I get to your choices.

What’s something about your writing that you pride yourself on?

Happy STS!

I really like my dialogue and my symbolism.

I work really hard on making my dialogue sound natural, and I feel like I really manage to catch the natural rhythms of human speech in my writing.

And I have a deep love for symbolism, I love getting to add deeper meaning to my works, and I don't always manage it. But it's nice to really think about how deep something can go, to really think about the depth of something and how it can mean so many things or just be surface level. It's fun for me.

Ohhhh. Yeah, AO3 is relatively permissive about what html you can use. IDK if they added that particular html tag to ones you could use in notes or if people just recently noticed that html could always do that.

In general, knowing more html lets you do more on oldschool sites or even on tumblr when it refuses to properly apply styles in the regular editor.

hey ao3 enjoyers!! i SWEAR I can remember a recent feature they rolled out that is kind of like a collapsible text box you can insert into the beginning notes or something? but I can’t find any info about this online. did I make that up entirely or am I not searching well enough? i want to see and implement this feature!

I haven't written much over the last week, since my spoons have been really low. Holidays tend to take a lot out of my family now.

I have been working on a drabble or flash fiction. It doesn't have a title, yet. As always, this is a really rough draft. :)

"As a god," Sephiroth said, his voice was smooth like poisoned honey, "I can offer you something the Celestials or Devils cannot."

"Oh? What can you offer me that the divine can not?"

"Everything." He glided his hand down the smooth sloop of her throat, igniting goosed flesh to rise on her skin. She shivered. "Absolute power. Unlimited wealth. The submission of nations and empires. The Promised Land."

As he lowered himself to her height by bending towards her, his lips hovered close to hers. His breath fanned her cheek and lips, igniting fire within her belly that soon spread throughout her entire body: a burning need to join him on his crusade for revenge against those insects that call themselves human.

"But, most importantly," he whispered, "eternal devotion and unwavering loyalty. You are mine by right, Bia, and I will treat you like the queen you are meant to be."

For this, i wanted to share something from a one-shot I have been working on. Asmodeus is really fun to write, since he's always so over the top.

I have the same problem with introducing characters. I even feel like I don't have enough or I have too much. I love her design.

Character Introduction

I'm not sure why but I've always struggled to summarize my characters or stories into bite sized descriptions. It's something I've been thinking about lately because it would be a lot easier for people to get to know my little brain babies without having to read 72k words first.

So I'm using the Creator's Clubs "meet the character Monday" (by @bardic-tales) to finally kick myself in the butt and write up a character profile.

Introducing: Princess Dai Yu, my main Atla OC from my fic Black Jade.

(While a big point of her story is about growing up, I'm writing most of this with her 16yr version in mind. Since thats where she is when the canon timeline starts.)

Hobbies: playing pipa, writing songs, sewing, studying history and reading.

Likes: music, dancing, singing, festivals, plays, babies, cute animals, sweets, makeup, fashion, romance novels and erotic art prints. 

Dislikes: sand, spicy food, combat and training, bugs, and reptile

The daughter and only child of King Janyu of the Earth Kingdom province of Nanfang and Zara, a fire nation woman from the colony of Yu Dao. Despite the fact that no one on her mother’s side is a bender, and many on her father’s side can earthbend, Dai Yu turns out to be a firebender.

At twelve years old she agrees to marry Prince Zuko, believing that it will bring her country peace. She gets along well with Zuko and is more upset about leaving her home and family than the idea of being bound to him.

Dai Yu loved her father probably more than anyone else in the world, and is particularly sensitive to other people bad mouthing him. She struggles to acknowledge his faults even to herself as she grows and her outlook on her situation changes. He was the one who taught her how to play pipa, starting a lifelong love of music they shared.

Not having had the opportunity to learn before moving, she isn't a skilled bender at the start of her story and starts training mainly out of nessesity to control her bending and defend herself. She's competent enough by the time Sozin's comet comes around, but never manages to come anywhere near the ability of most of her bending contemporaries, which she is just fine with.

Hi, guys.

Just wanted to let you all know that with the holiday season approaching, I'll be stepping back from the Creators Club for a bit. It'll be paused from November 1st through December 31, and we'll revisit it in the new year (Jan. 1st). I am the one who is mainly in charge of the holidays in my family, so I'll be busy.

Tumblr Games: Heads up, 7 up

Rules: Share 7 lines from your WIP.

This is from a rewrite of a flash fiction that I am writing. Bianca and Sephiroth will be snowed in. No hot chocolate, though. It's a little bit more than 7 sentences.

The jagged walls surrounding the black crater curved inward as shelter against the outside world. Shadows stretched down upon her concealing her and her companion in darkness. From above, from the colossal, impenetrable barrier encasing the entire impact site, the glint of several weapons stood silent over a battlefield lost to the annuals of time in this god-forsaken hole.

Her sole companion shambled next to her and trudged through the snow which came up to the middle of his calf as his mouth hung open loosely in a perpetual state of confusion. Black robes hung off of his lanky form, as the fabric dragged on the snow behind them, leaving a faint path along with their footprints. The tattered cloth flapped in the acrid wind, molding to his body, while the sudden gale threatened to rip his hood off of his head and whipped his long, midnight-colored hair against his gaunt cheeks.

“Rest,” the man, a Sephiroth clone by the name of SC-X, muttered, as he continued to shuffled behind her and only responded to her safety and comfort.

[. . .]

The ebony feather danced across her shoulder and arm, swaying end over end until it fell to the snowy ground before them, signaling the arrival of him — her godlike lover — and the temporary loss of SC-X’s autonomy.

Hello. Happy Tender Tuesday.

What’s a tender or intimate moment between Dai Yu and Zuko that strengthens their bond without words?

(catching up on tender tuesday on wednesday instead because the depression got me yesterday sorry guys)

The "without words" part is a bit tricky to me. I don't think either of them are very good at knowing what someone needs without being told, and a huge part of their relationship arc is figuring out basic communication skills period.

That being said, the way he carries her over sand so she doesn't have to touch it (she's got sensory issues) comes to mind.
