I just know Grizel cares so much about Fitz.

She's known this boy since he was 14 (?) and she's watching him grow up.

She's hung around him for years, day and night.

She's eavesdropped on his conversations, and she was there for all of the aftermath of Alvar's betrayal.

She watched his world fall out from beneath his feet first hand. She heard the whispers that followed him everywhere he went. She watched his shoulders fall.

She probably watched him bake treats for his friends. She probably watched him cry and grieve. She probably dragged him out of his bed and showed him how to work out to get out of his head. She probably reminds him to eat, and to get some vitamin D. She probably listens to him pace his bedroom well into the night. She probably listens to him talk to Mr. Snuggles when he's really overwhelmed and just needs a friend who won't judge him.

She'd die for this little sad, short-tempered baby who has done nothing wrong ever in his entire life. And her heart aches for him. For the way he can be surrounded by people, but still be so lonely.

She probably knows him better than most people just off of observation alone.

idk man. we never talk about it. and the friendship angst/potential is immaculate.

Sandor and Grizel where childhood friends in cannon, and i’m convinced they actually dated before cannon, because that’s what it sounded like in their little act interaction in the books.

i think that Sandor had someone in his family die and they left a spouse and child behind and he didn’t want to hurt Grizel in that way, so he broke up with her to protect her. but Grizel didn’t give up on their relationship for years and that’s why she followed him to the elven gaurd

Im enjoying these dynamic asks :) how about grizel and Ro dynamic? I think they would be an awesome duo if they had more page time. On page 369 of legacy, we see one of the only interactions between them, which is them making jokes about the elves. They seem to get along pretty well, which I think is super interesting since the two species don’t typically get along

Challenge. That's the word that comes to mind for the two of them. They both have a sort of defiance and existence that challenges the world around them, that pushes themselves and the people they're surrounded by; they rise to the occasion and don't take no for an answer, and i think all that would multiply between the two of them.

Grizel with her games, Ro with her pranks. I think it would become a competition between the two of them, but not necessarily a malicious one. But more of a determined, friendly one, as they're basically the same character in different species. They'd feed off of each other, both occupying that role of warrior from a different species stuck in this kinda annoying world (though Grizel's nicer about it) protecting these kids and wrapped up in everything. We can see how that provides a starting point of familiarity between them on page 369. Even though their species don't have a great history!

They are, I think, the best candidates of the characters we know who could start to bridge that gap; both very high ranking, trusted soldiers for their species, and each with the adaptability to learn and form unlikely alliances. Being put in a situation where they're required to maintain decorum could allow them to see that they're not very different at the core of it all.

I agree! I think they'd be an awesome duo defined by their playful natures, confidence, and how they carry themselves. They'd be equal in their dynamic, and it would be very entertaining to see more between them on page. Hopefully we can snag a few more moments of them :)

Tam and Linh's relationship is so beautiful. They had only each other since the very beginning, till they met with the Black Swan and even then, their bond is so much stronger than theirs with anyone else. Linh was the only one who was banished but Tam didn't want to live in a world without her by his side and joined her. Tam was said to be very protective of Linh during Exilium, never leaving her side. He only trusted Sophie when she risked herself for helping Linh. Tam was not ready to commit to the Black Swan but the moment Linh volunteered, Tam followed. Tam only joined the Neverseen when Gisela threatened Linh's safety. And when Linh heard the news, she didn't break down but fiercely believed that Tam can survive, that he'll make it out. And yet, the moment Sophie raised the possibility of Linh being able to telepathically communicate with Tam and hear his voice, Linh's eyes welled up with tears, full of hope. After being able to hear Linh telepathically, Tam cried in his room. He only talked with Rayni, because for a split second, when she asked him if he was doing okay, she sounded like Linh. They bicker and fight like any other pair of siblings but their love runs so deep. They're each other's first priority, always and forever more.
