My husband made a Dungeon Meshi-themed Magic the Gathering deck, and I had the honor of making him a custom card for his commander (a reskinned Korvold, Fae-Cursed King)

Why don't you guys make more different versions of popular legendary creatures when we return to planes? For example Zendikaar and Iona or Korvold and Wilds of Eldraine? I know you'll point out how many Niv's we've gotten, but Ravnica seems to be the exception, not the rule.
We normally revisit some amount of legendary characters when we return to a world. It can vary world to world though.

“Ah, another cursed noble!”
“Excuse me?”
Godric stared up in confusion at King Korvold, who was leaning down to grin eagerly at him. The towering dragon eyed his fellow noble with excitement, despite the latter’s hesitation to do the same.
“I’m sorry, it’s just, I can sense the draconic energy radiating off of you!”
“Oh?” Godric made a show of lifting his arm and sniffing. “Curses, I knew I forgot the cologne this morning,” he joked with a smile.
“And I didn’t think I’d ever find anyone else who had also been cursed into a dragon…Or, well, cursed to turn back and forth between one. But, close enough! It’s simply exhilarating to know that I’m not alone in my-”
“Er, excuse me,” Godric interrupted, through gritted teeth. “Not to split hairs, but I think you should know, I can actually control the change. Between human and dragon, that is.”
“You can…control it?”
Godric flinched at Korvold’s rumbling, hurt tone, offering him a sad smile in response even as he continued: “And I don’t think I’m cursed either. At least, I’d like to think I’m not, seeing as how I’m the one who came up with the magic to turn me into a human in the first place.”
“Oh. You’re originally a…oh.”
Korvold’s head drooped further, leaving him staring directly down at the ground rather than at Godric. The non-cursed dragon approached gingerly to pat Korvold on the leg, as that was the only part of the cursed king that Godric’s human form could even reach.
“Ah, but not to worry, friend. There’s plenty of other…er…cursed nobles out there. And I’m sure at least a few of them are just like you…or at least close…maybe?”
Korvold gave a defeated sigh, forceful enough to billow the banners that lined the hall. “Maybe…”

LiS EDH/Commander Headcanons: Vortex Club Edition
AN: The sequel nobody asked for, including myself! This was never really gonna be a thing, but recently the image of the Vortex Club putting on ragers and really posturing about being the cool kids only to immediately turn around and play in some insular and incredibly toxic commander pod fucking sent me rolling.
I guess the same canon-stretchy shit as the last post like this applies though tbh I would believe it if Victoria actually could afford a fully foiled out cEDH list.
Victoria Chase:
Even if she's horrifically domineering as fuck outside of the game, Vic loves politics, and I mean she LOVES politics. It's her greatest strength and her greatest weakness at the table.
As a result, she tends to honor most of the deals (keyword most of) she makes, though she plays commanders that will inevitably skew those deals in her favor like Shadrix Silverquill, Queen Marchesa, or Tivit, Seller of Secrets.
It's really easy to stop her from fucking with you so long as you suck it up and play by her rules.
Because of that, it's also quite easy to capitalize on her mistakes and spring a win over her because she'll be so focused on trying to get everyone else to bend the knee.
Doesn't particularly care for a specific archetype or color identity but has a Teysa Karlov aristocrats list because she thinks Teysa is hot the character is cool.
Dana Ward
Got into the game because of Trevor and once she got past her qualms about how nerdy everything seemed, really took to EDH.
Once she realized the rest of the Vortex Club had a commander group, she seized the opportunity to drag Juliet along with her on game nights so they can both subtly fuck with them all.
In service of that goal, she builds the most toxically optimized lists she can, but keeps them low key in terms of the actual cards/win-cons until it's too late. Things like go-wide tokens or life gain, that are juuuust annoying enough to chip away at Victoria and Nathan's ego without overtly causing any real out of game enmity.
Her real holy grail idea is to somehow swing a win over Nathan and Vic with Yargle.
To that end, poor Trevor, Justin, and potentially Max have had to put up with an endless slew of Yargle voltron lists in their home games as she inches ever closer to perfecting her list.
Has a pet deck that's a modified version of the Zhulodok, Void Gorger precon (Jesus Christ, IM starting to get pissed about how nerdy this shit is...) that Tervor got her for her birthday.
Grumbles loudly... This Shithead Nathan Prescott
Loves Golgari, but like in a weird way. Like, the kind of way that goes past a fondness for mechanics.
I know this post is focused on how characters would behave as EDH players, but I genuinely think that Nathan's choices as a deck-builder are influenced by his love of the actual lore/philosophy of Green/Black and it's associated factions like the Golgari or Ikoria's take on WBG.
Plays graveyard oriented lists like Grist, the Hunger Tide or Muldrotha most nights.
When he wants to be REALLY competitive, he's got a fucking hum-dinger of a Korvold aristocrats list he keeps in his back pocket.
Splurges on expensive variants of cards as a juvenile way of asserting some sort of weird dominance over others and will flaunt them at more casual players like Hayden and Logan.
Other than that, he actually tends to keep to himself and plays pretty low interaction, recursion loop based strategies that let him just bask in the joy of having a graveyard that's almost as tall as his library by turn 4.
So... that's that I guess. Might do one of these for the True Colors cast as well.

Korvold, Rei Maldito pelas Fadinas/ Korvold, Fae-Cursed King

I was curious about that because I knew Brother's War had some dragons (including some artifact dragons) and upon checking I found that yeah, it's dragons were all rare (and one uncommon.)
I was then curious how much farther back you'd have to go to find the next set without a red dragon at mythic rare, and what I learned is that The Brother's War is an outlier.
Now depending on how technical you want to get depends on the answer. If by "red dragon at mythic" you mean a mono-red dragon then technically the answer is New Capenna from earlier in the same year (literally the set before the set before Brother's War). New Capenna's sole dragon is Ziatora, who does sit at mythic rare but is Jund colors (BRG) rather than mono-red.
But if by "red dragon at mythic" you mean any dragon with red in its cost/color identity, we have to keep going because Ziatora does have red in her cost. Strixhaven would be the next set to fail the mono-red criteria, but two of the founder dragons that make up a mythic cycle in the set have red in their costs (Galazeth Prismari and Velomachus Lorehold.) So we have to keep going until we hit 2020's Ikoria, which surprisingly only has a single dragon in the entire set, Sprite Dragon at uncommon.
In the interest of further curiosity I went just a little farther back. Interestingly enough Theros Beyond Death and Throne of Eldraine, the next two sets on our trip backwards also lack dragons at mythic in the sets proper (but do have red dragons at rare)...although Throne of Eldraine does have Korvold from the Brawl precons who is technically a mythic rare and Jund colors again, but I'm not gonna count him. War of the Spark and Ravnica Allegiance get us back on track with some mythic red dragons (War of the Spark's Niv-Mizzet is 5 color but that counts.) Interestingly, Guilds of Ravnica doesn't have a mythic red dragon despite having a Niv-Mizzet card because he's only rare in this set. Dominaria did have a mythic red dragon again (two technically, one mono-red the other Jund), only for us to finally run into the end of the block model with the two sets of Ixalan block which didn't have any dragons because dinosaurs ate up the available creature slots for large red creatures. So if we go from 2018's Dominaria to Bloomburrow this year, we hit 24 sets, of which only 5 sets lack any kind of dragon at mythic rare, and an additional 3 lack a mono-red dragon at mythic rare.
The last premiere set without a red Dragon at mythic was The Brother's War two years ago.

Hey Maro, it's my birthday today. Could I please get some trivia about Korvold, Fae-Cursed King, or if not then Jund sac in general?
In Shards of Alara, Jund’s named mechanic was going to be something that triggered whenever a creature died. We end up making a three-card cycle out of it and replaced it with devour.
Happy Birthday!
