I got reminded of a game I used to play when I was kid.
Kinda explains where my obsession with GitS and cyberpunk began.
I mean no wonder, ''Oni'' was heavily influenced by it.

TCTF: The Syndicate is so evil! They have SLDs that are actually dangerous! They are big and strong and they can smash your head on their knee, which can give you a concussion! Or worse!
TCTF: Our SLDs on the other hand, they are built with the bodies of children, so that they're safe.
TCTF: They are also filled with so much explosives that if they get a self-destruct command they immolate a huge room and can destabilize an entire atmospheric conversion center.
TCTF: Wow we're so responsible.
TCTF: Oh, please don't sneeze, Shinatama, you'll kill us all.

Computer Gaming World August 1999
There was more than one cover for this issue, befitting the multiple “third-person-perspective 3D action games” following Tomb Raider’s lead. LucasArts insisted players wanted to see Indiana Jones; Bungie’s Oni promoted “hand-to-hand moves” (although the coverage this month included features left out when the game eventually got released). I did wind up playing Oni, in some part because of Bungie’s name on it, in some part because of its “anime-esque” look, and in some part because it had a Macintosh port. I also have to admit I wasn’t very deft with its combo system, slugging my way through the game with the simplest of moves.
