Danny has been out of the hero game for a while now.
You see, when clockwork reset the timeline to one where the disastroid didn't happen Danny made it his mission to quit the job for good. This involved forming an actual defense from Ghost invasions (though he's sure his parents loved testing out what the magic community likes to call "An awful combination of sentience and technology.") and also giving rights to ghosts. Hell, even Vlad's started to come around. The old fruit loop actually changed his ways and is setting him up to the heir to DALV.co while trying to fix the shit they did to the environment when doing trial runs of Val's suit.
(Mostly because sam threatened to break Vlad's knees, both of the halfas think she could do it.)
He finally do what wants with his life and satisfy his obsessions with space and protection. Danny's got all sorts of projects he's tinkering on like air purifiers and growing food in space. He's been just, doing his thing for so long that his powers had gone into a kind of reserve mode. Danny's strength and speed are back to just above average, his ice only good for ice cubes and being a human AC, can't even feel ghostly presence if it's not right on top of him.
But Danny is actually happy.
Or he would be if not for Lex Luthor. He hates that vindictive, capitalist egg. The male pattern baldness horror story managed to weasel his way into a partnership with Vlad when he was still trying to put the (now reformed) GIW on his leash.
The first time Danny met the man his hair nearly turned all white, literally. He's lucky Lex was more interested in Vlad, his investment partner than him otherwise he'd have seen. He wouldn't have been that mad if not for Lex's pocket full of (condensed mass of kryptoian suffering.) kryptonite, and his kryptonian clone? who kept eyeing that pocket. Kon was the kids name BTW, also he DEFINITELY saw Danny's hair change.
Now he has to deal with the pair every other week, one reason being Lex is not so subtly trying to get his hands on some ectoplasmic generator schematics. The other is that Kon is helping him catch Luthor before he does.

so i was js scrolling thru ur page and i wanted to know if you have any good starter comics abt the superfam ?
oh do i have some recs for you, my friend.
i’ve already answered for kara here and made a jon reading guide here.
now onto my boy clark:
superman: birthright - it’s an origin story. great way to get introduced to the superman universe;
superman: the secret years - it’s a more old comics, but still great. revolves around clark’s college years;
superman: kryptonite - clark’s first encounter with kryptonite;
action comics by greg pak - it’s during the new 52 era. you can skip the unnecessary crossovers and just read his individual arcs - “action comics (2011) #25 - 29, 35 - 40”);
superman: man of tomorrow - hero of metropolis - low stakes. slice of life. great vibes. great way to get introduced to a few superman villains;
superman by kurt busiek and geoff johns. reading guide here;
the warworld saga by phillip kennedy johnson. my favourite superman story ever;
superman smashes the klan. it’s a great story.
if you want to read superman comics chronologically, here you can find great starting points.
it’s a bit more complicated with lois because she is a second main character for a lot of clark’s stories, but doesn’t have her own titles very often (which is a shame because she’s great!). you’d get a pretty good idea of who she is from the superman recs, but during 2019, greg rucka wrote a comic with her as the main character - “lois lane (2019)” so i’d recommend checking that out. you can also check “supermans’s pal jimmy olsen (2019)” as well. it doesn’t have lois, but it has jimmy and he’s pretty cool.
note: both kon-el and john henry irons debuted during “reign of the superman” storyline.
as for kon, i haven’t read much of his comics, but he had a solo in the 90s and he’s a prominent member of the young justice comics so i’d recommend checking “superboy (1994)” and “young justice (1998)”. he also had a mini recently - “superboy: the man of tomorrow”.
as for john and nat, john also had an ongoing in the 90s - “steel (1994)”. nat was a main character during “52”. not sure if i’d recommend her story in that one though. but you can check it out and see if you like it. after that, she was in “infinity inc. (2007)” which is a follow up to her 52 storyline and again, not sure how much i recommend it. as far as i know, nat was also in the titans for a bit - “titans (2016) #23 - 36”. i’m yet to read it though so i’m not sure if it’s good. recently, there was a miniseries called “steelworks (2023)” and it was really good. both john and nat are main characters.
lana, same as lois, unfortunately doesn’t have that many solos. she was great during greg pak’s action comics run. and she had a solo during rebirth - “superwoman (2016)” that heavily featured john henry as well.
kenan debuted during the rebirth era and had a solo - “new super-man (2016)” and that’s pretty much it. he also had a two-part back up story in action comics #1058 - 1059 that explained how he joined the family.
as for lois and clark’s kids (that aren’t jon), you’ll find out more about chris during kurt busiek and geoff johns’ era and more about otho and osul during the warworld saga.
that’s all i’ve got. there are more superfamily members, but those are the once i feel confident giving recs for.

*This minibang is open to followers of @mamawasatesttube on Tumblr. Moderation is tied to "stuff that I, Rimi Mamawasatesttube, want/do not want to moderate", and as such, rules on what isn't allowed WILL be subjective. If you're cool with that, let's gooooo!!!
HELLO!!! Very excited to launch this lil gig. This is a casual chill minibang, focused on Kon-El (Superboy) ♥ !!!
A minibang is an offshoot of a traditional fandom Big Bang. Big Bangs are events where writers come up with pitches for fics, then artists rank their top choices among those pitches, and everyone gets paired up into collab teams to make something for the event! Traditional big bangs are for longfic, but this is a chill tiny thing, so our word count minimum won't be that high (but writing longer fic is certainly encouraged!).
We have a discord server for this event, where all primary communication will take place! The link to join it is at the end of the signup form. If you've never done a bang or anything like it before, don't worry!!! This is aimed to be a pretty chill, casual event just for funsies, so jump on in!!!
The tentative schedule I have in mind is that we'll do claims and start the creative period in early April, then let people have April and May to work, and then sometime in June we can post (pride month Kon SWEEP). If that doesn't work for most people, though, we can fiddle with it! :D

I've just been ping-ponging back and forth between Stranger Things and Batfam obsessions so here's a very self indulgent combination.
Au where Steve Harrington is Jack Drake's slightly older first cousin. They were close until Steve's parents disowned him and then reconnected sporadically when Jack was a young adult, but when Steve and Eddie got married, Janet severed ties claiming she thought Steve and his loser rockstar husband would be a bad influence on Tim. Jack reconciles with him when he wakes up from his coma, and asks Steve to take care of Tim if anything happens to him(Jack). When Jack is killed Steve and Eddie become Tim's guardians.
Rough Timeline.
1966 - Eddie is born
1967- Steve Harrington is born
1974- Jack Drake is born
1980- Bruce Wayne is born
1982- Clark Kent is adopted by the Kents
1983-6 -ST seasons 1-4
1987 - Upsidedown Closes for the last time + the Wayne's are killed in front of their son.
1990- Dick Grayson is Born
1995- Jason is born
1996- Cass is born
1999 - Tim is born/the Batman starts his stuff
2001 - Flying Graysons/first Superman sightings
2004 - the Justice League is formed, Boston legalizes gay marriage.
2005 - steddie marriage. Janet Drake throws a hissy fit and Jack and Steve stop speaking.
2007- Dick Quits Robin, Damian is born, andJason becomes Robin
2010- Jason Dies
2011- Tim becomes Robin
2013- Janet dies, Jack is in a coma
2014 - Jack wakes up. Wants to reconnect with his family (including Steve and Eddie), titans tower ™️
2015 - Damian arrives, Jack finds out. Steph is Robin and "dies"
2016 - Jack dies and Steve and Eddie get custody of Tim. Kon and Bart die temporarily.
Tim is going thru it and also suddenly has two VERY attentive guardians who have been dealing with weird bullshit longer than even Batman. They find out about Robin and lecture Batman and insist that if Tim's gonna pull a Dustin then Steve gets to babysit (be on comms).
Steve insists he's too old to be a vigilante but he is on comms all the time and on more than one occasion busts into a scene hitting goons with the batmobile and rescuing Bruce and Tim. He also basically forcefully adopts Jason after he finds out about titans tower. Eddie just laughs, but Jason used to be a big fan of Eddie's band so he is automatically the cool dad.
Somewhere in here Steve and Eddie kind of adopt Dick, Damian, Cass and Steph
Barbara and Max meet and it's Chaos.
Bruce tries to complain that Steve and Eddie are stealing his kids and Eddie's like. Alfred do you want some coparents? We'll adopt a full grown man. We've got kids older than Bruce that we consider to be ours. And Alfred is like. I'd love the help. He's a handful.
Anyway when Bruce "dies" and Tim's like. He's not dead! Steve is like. Yeah. I've seen weirder. Let me call supergirl- not Kara. My supergirl. Eleven. Yeah. You remember her right? She might be able to find him with her mind powers. No she's not a meta. She's had powers since before metas were a thing.
And El finds him and with her help the Justice League can get Bruce back pretty quickly. They offer her a position and she's like. I'm retired. But I'll always help a friend in need, so keep my number.
Anyways the ST crew are all adults and Tired because they thought when the justice league came around they'd be done. But Steve just keeps acquiring children who insist on getting themselves in trouble so even though he is fifty and Tired with chronic migraines and tinnitus he is still going to be the Best Damn Babysitter there is, and none of his friends/kids will let him do it alone.
Steve managed to keep it all from them before he needed to ask El for help but once the dam breaks they're all in and out of Gotham and meeting the Justice League and causing trouble left and right.
Lucas and Will both try to keep out of it and maintain their quiet lives but end up becoming emotional support/therapists/mentors to young heroes.
Dustin somehow gets to do some work on the Watchtower.
Erica, despite being in her early 40s, is trying to get the Teen Titans to unionize.
Nancy has access to guns she really really shouldn't.
Jonathan and Clark get along really well. Argyle can somehow understand the Flashes when they're talking at almost full speed.
And when Robin (Buckley not Batman-and-) meets Wonder Woman she cries.

trans headcanons time for the superpeople
- Kryptonian sex isn't viewed as much of a rigidly separate thing; gender is straight up viewed as a presentation thing in concept, since they're such an "advanced society" & may not even have a similar reproductive setup to humans, it truly doesn't matter what gender or sex a couple is to have kids, so the social aspect is just that. it's seen as a social Thing. there are some differences & associated hormones, but not by a large margin.
-All this to say, I think Kara is also trans, but already knew this long before she arrived on earth, and was likely surprised to find that it was more uncommon for humans.
- Clark on the other hand was just lucky enough to kind of pass by accident, on account of what I just said about sex being less rigid for them. His parents didn't really....know....which way to view him given they literally had an alien child so they didn't really know what to assume, but at some point masculine seemed right & they all went with that, more or less. It wasn't until he was a little older he realized that was a different process than most people had about their gender.
- he also may not have even known he was technically AFAB until he met Kara & they compared & offered info on that. (I guess it does depend on how much information on krypton he actually had access to & what version you're looking at, but Kara definitely offered more firsthand information and context either way; it's like reading an encyclopedia about something versus talking to someone who was there.)
-they also, probably with the help of all those super scientist genius friends or whatever, both Kara and Clark are able to have synthesized hormones (pretty much all that is inspired by @/homokommari's comic), Clark still calls it t even though it technically isn't lol, Kara doesn't bother to even try to explain to be very honest because she basically isn't used to the concept of cis versus trans, she's like, you just are what you are?? why would saying I take hormones make you think I'm not a "real" girl???? & It's upsetting so she just...doesn't.
-kon el is also trans in that lex & the other scientists couldn't figure out why the cloning process kept fucking up on the sex characteristics they assumed he would have, so he also just added some of them artificially (some of them human traits Clark may or may not even have, they just assumed he would). kon might also be intersex under this assumption but I think that's also cool so we can run with that. all I know is he's a guy who was created in a lab using the DNA of a transmasculine alien and a human. so, it's not so cut and dry, but he's definitely got Gender.

Whats some non shipping plots on muns wishlist?
Curious not so anons! || always accepting
Tumblr media
Oh!!! I like exploring the themes of identity with Kon so my non shipping plots usually revolve around that
- if like to explore Kon’s gender identity, I headcanon Kon as somewhere on the nonbinary spectrum but I’ve never really gotten a chance to explore that in a thread. I think Kon’s a little dense, a bit confused and a little in denial having someone talk through that with him would be so cool it’d be a fun exploration of all of his identities. Conner Kent, Superboy and Kon-el are all slightly different.
- Kon has a pretty hard time not being Superboy so sometime where he gets more comfortable in the Conner Kent persona could be fun, Kon’s doing this the opposite way round to other heroes. Usually they are the civilian playing hero but Kon’s the hero playing civilian. I think he could easily come to someone who’s able to juggle those two identities and be like “hey how can you just be normal for ten minutes”
- Kon’s never really dealt with his death so that’s something to explore. He tries to joke about it to cope but people never really laugh so he does get frustrated. He wants to move on and forget that it happened and not deal with it but people keep telling him that’s not healthy. I think talking to someone with shared experience could be a fun thread, maybe an older hero could be fun! I’m open to anything really this could be a lil angsty though.
- Clone rights! My god clone rights! Kon identifies as a clone and you know people who exist via cloning don’t fit in to the definition of birth and therefore by extension can’t benefit from the universal declaration of human rights. I think that’s something Kon could lobby for and do activism with. This could be fun for clones! And clone rights supporters! There’s lots that can be done with this, you don’t even have to a long winded thing about human rights, they can easily complain about how clone rep in media sucks. This is one of the things in Kon’s solo that gets bright up but they don’t really do much with it! I think it’d be a fun topic to write with.
- Kon in college? Pls just imagine Kon trying to do college just as a concept. I think it’d be fun there’s lots to explore there as well with Kon-el vs Conner Kent. I think just some silly little threads like that could be fun!
- I’m totally open to any other gen ideas that anyone else has, like if you have a big wishlist for a muse send it my way and I’d totally pick a Few thing off it! These are just like the big ones I have!

“Then don’t,” Kon replied simply. He threw himself back into the grass, his legs getting thrown in the air before plopping back down to earth. He tucked one hand behind his head and used the other to point up at the sky. “See those three stars in a row?”
The person was silent for a moment before hesitantly answering, “Yeah?”
“That’s Orion’s belt. It’s one of the easiest constellations to find in the northern hemisphere.”
“Just those three stars?”
“Well those two are his shoulders and those two are his hips or knees or something,” Kon said conversationally as he pointed out said stars. “There’s more to it, but I can’t remember the rest.” He glanced over at his stargazing companion, they seemed just a little less see through, glowing a little bit brighter. Guess he did a good job distracting them. He went on to point out the big and little dipper, complete with Polaris. He didn’t know many of the constellations, just some of what Tim had taught him for navigating. Finding which way was north was really useful, if you can find north you can also find east and west.
Kon glanced over again to see his companion’s eyes had drifted closed, their face peaceful. That seemed weird, if they were already dreaming were they dreaming they were asleep?
Wait, were they getting more see-through?
Slowly, bit by bit, they were definitely getting more see through, until all that was left behind was a barely there indent in the grass. Kon put his hand to it and the grass felt cold, not cool, downright cold. The only hints that someone had been there at all. This was definitely something he needed to ask his team about.
Kon gave a jaw cracking yawn.
In the morning, this would be something to ask for advice on in the morning.
✦✧✦
The next time Kon saw his mystery visitor was early evening nearly a week later. He’d prepared for this, he’d memorised all the constellations visible this time of year, several star facts, and a list of information to try to get out of them. Currently they were sitting on a split rail fence, face turned towards the setting sun, feet gently kicking the air. It was odd, watching their feet swing. On the upswing they had a full leg: pants, toes, and all. On the downswing the leg faded to nothing shortly below the knee.
Kon intentionally made noise as he walked closer, not wanting to startle his guest. “Hello again,” he called gently as he approached.
The visitor turned slowly at his voice. Their eyes opened and blinked in surprise, then a smile lit up their face. Literally lit them up. Made them look just a bit more solid too, enough that Kon could guess they looked like a kid, somewhere in their early to mid teens. Maybe. Just because a lot of aliens looked similar to humans didn’t mean they aged the same.
Kon smiled back, both happy and sad to see them again. He leaned against the top of the fence one section down from his guest. “I wasn’t expecting to see you again.”
“Neither was I, but I guess I should've.” They laughed to themself a little at that, already turning to face the sun again, their face peaceful as they basked in the warm rays.
“My name’s Kon, by the way. Kon El, he/him.”
His guest hummed in acknowledgement, though his brows furrowed in confusion near the end. “He… him…?”
“Sure, makes it easier to refer to someone by their pronouns if they’re part of introductions.”
They turned to look Kon up and down in confusion. “... okay?” They turned back to their sunbathing, little that they would have left.
“... And what should I call you?” he eventually asked.
His guest huffed a quiet little laugh before replying, eyes still closed and face turned to the sun, “Danny.” Such a strangely human sounding name. Then again a lot of names sound pretty similar, there’s only so many ways a mouth like theirs can form sounds. After a moment they tacked on, “He/him.”
Kon wasn’t sure if they- if he just copied Kon’s pronouns or if those were his actual pronouns, but until he said otherwise that’s what he was. “It’s nice to meet you, Danny.”
“Nice to meet you too, Kon.”
Kon smiled and let the silence sit for a minute. So he finally had a name, though no family name. He wasn’t sure if one would help, but Tim insisted the more information they had the easier it would be to find where Danny was from and go help him, because anyone who was afraid of waking up, anyone who needed to run so badly he could only do it in his dreams absolutely needed help.
Now to just… find ways of getting that information out of Danny without scaring him off.
He watched for a bit as the sun touched the horizon, the sky changing colors and the golden light beginning to fade. Beside him Danny opened his eyes, the light no longer too bright to watch the show.
“I’ve missed this.”
Kon just nodded, unsure what to respond to a statement like that. Instead they sat in silence, enjoying the sunset until it became dark enough for the first stars to come out. Danny leaned back, slowly floating down until he was settled against the grass and staring up at the stars.
Kon joined him on the ground, staring up at the stars. “You like space, huh?”
“Yeah, it’s pretty cool,” Danny replied nonchalantly.
“You know which star is yours?”
“No.” He sounded sad as he said it.
Time for a distraction, “So I looked up Orion and I know the rest of the constellation now.” He pointed out the rest of the stars and what shape they made, then finally asked the next question. “What about your constellations?”
“What about them? I can’t show you, they’re not here.” Danny glared up at the sky as if he could move the stars around if he just thought at them hard enough.
“So draw them for me.” Kon pulled out a tablet from his jacket. He quickly turned it on and opened it to a simple art program. When he handed it over Danny stared down at the device with huge eyes.
“What’s this?”
“A tablet. It’s… it’s like a big phone, though it doesn’t have the call function like a phone does.”
“It’s a big phone without the actual phone?” Danny sounded confused, looking the whole thing over. “Where are the buttons?”
Kon laughed, then poked the screen. “Here, it’s touch screen.”
Danny’s face turned greenish, “Oh.”
“Guess our worlds have different tech.”
Danny was already back to looking the device over, flipping it around and checking the thickness. “This is some real Star Trek shit.”
“Star Trek?”
Danny glanced over with another amused huff. “It's a show back home, really popular.”
Kon just nodded, something else to help them look, he guessed. He quickly ran through which buttons did what and helped Danny get started. Then he just sat and watched over Danny’s shoulder as he worked.
He started by filling the whole thing in black, then making a colorful smear across the canvas, then began putting white dots of various sizes all around. It was obvious he was very familiar with his own night sky, even going so far as to draw both hemispheres. He nudged a few of the stars this way and that, had to resize the canvas a few times to make room for everything, kept adding in more stars as he remembered them, and then did something Kon didn’t expect. Danny changed the color to a bright green and started writing.
While he wasn’t sure giving the names his planet called the stars would be helpful, a written script would really help narrow things down. Tim would eat this up!
“Oh, I guess names won’t help much,” Danny said after writing a few letters.
“Doesn’t stop me from being curious,” Kon said quickly.
Danny shrugged, “It doesn’t matter.” He handed the tablet back to Kon and went back to stargazing.
Kon quickly saved the picture, then sent it to Tim. Even a few letters or hieroglyphs or whatever would be helpful. Though… Kon squinted down at the start of the label for the Milky Way. It looked… kind of like the start of the word milk? Just loopy and the letters strung together? Odd. Probably just a coincidence, right? Pareidolia, he expects the word milk so he sees it.
So he tucked the tablet back away and starts pointing out other constellations.
DP x DC Prompt/Plotbunny #6
After days? weeks? months? years? in this mercy-forsaken lab, Danny finds himself slipping; his core straining under the weight of what he's been subjected to. In a last ditch effort to save his fracturing soul, his brain simply stops processing the pain and allows his mind to escape into a waking dream.
Danny knows it's a dream. If he thinks about it; he can still hear, see, feel the scientists at work. He doesn't think about it; instead embraces whatever false world his mind decides to concoct for him.
.
Several states away, a young boy opens his eyes to the inside of a strange pod in an abandoned lab. Though he cannot see it yet, a strange metal tag dangles from his ear, stamped on one side with the word 'CADMUS' and on the other with 'R-13'.

The small amount of Conner/ Kon-el x male reader fics is sadden.
You know how Conner is half kryptoniton? Seeing your headcanons for Kryptonition's, what if Conner figures out that he loves the reader's scent and not really knowing why, so timidly starts stealing like a hoodie or two from the reader.
Bonus points: the reader already knows why, because he is responsible for being the historian for the alien cultures on earth.
Conner Kent/Kon-El x male reader
Headcanons
Tumblr media
This is my fav Conner gif btw
You are so right about the lack of Kon x male reader content, it saddens me sometimes.
-          I have always had the headcanon that scents and alike are important in kryptonian society, that in ancient times it was used more than speech at times. Like communicating intention, feeling or the likes.
-          Its not used as much in modern time, though scents still play a pretty important part when it comes to finding a likely partner, or just scenting stuff that you own or good friends.
-          Conner isn’t as extremely affected by the likes of scents and wants that a full blooded kryptonian might, but he still is effected by it to some extent, so when he notices your scent makes his chest rumble and makes him feel jittery all over he’s confused at first.
-          He has very little knowledge about kryptonian biology at the time, and it also took him a while to realize no one could actually hear his purring. He later learns its because kryptonians purr as a frequency very few can hear, so he doesn’t have to worry about embarrassing himself.
-          The pull in his chest isn’t as powerful as a full blooded kryptonian, but he is still extremely drawn to you and wants to be around you at all times if he can get away with it.
 -          The first hoodie he steals is an accident, some laundry had been mixed up and your hoodie ended up in his things on accident. Now, he was gonna give it back, but that pull in his chest wanted to keep it.
-          He thought you might not notice a missing hoodie, so he kept it. Kon would go around wearing it in his room or when he was alone, even as your scent faded from the fabric over time, just knowing it was yours made him purr.
-          As time went on, he got a little more bold, stealing more of your laundry or even stealing one of the blankets. He had gotten his hands on the blanket during a sleepover where a lot of your mutual friends, titans and alike had holed up in the living room to watch movies all night.
-          He took your blanket “on accident” and brought it back to his room where he spread it on his bed and rubbed against it like an over excited puppy.
-          Kon might even have started to scent you without noticing, rubbing up against you or hugging you for longer periods of time.
 -          It was when Kon started truly scenting you that you realized what was happening. Clark had allowed you to the fortress of solitude where you learned a lot about kryptonian history and biology.
-          The information had of course been passed on to Kon as well so he could learn about it, but he didn’t seem to notice anything he was doing. Even after you two became official he didn’t notice how he was hoarding all your clothes and blankets.
-          At some point you end up semi moved into Conners room because he already has all your stuff in there. He also uses you two dating as an excuse to be close to you all the time. Expect many cuddle piles and many kisses.
-          Based on his kryptonian urges he will also be bringing you food or other offerings and gifts. You have a shelf for all the trinkets he brings you, there’s a lot of cool rocks on that shelf.
-          Conner would want you to wear his leather jacket, because it looks cute on you but also because he wants you to wear it as a claim or to show you are taken.
-          All in all he’s a sweetie who tries his best, so kudos to you for bagging him as a boyfriend, even though he steals your favorite clothes and hides them under his bed.

AAAA!! I love ur art and writing so much!! 🩷 🩷🩷 This was a good time to catch up bc now I can tell you abt my boy Conner. I’m still making my way through his stuff but I’ll try to give u as many sources as i can.
First, pls pls pls I beg of you don’t make Superman hate Conner. Superman has never hated him. Even in the Young Justice cartoon where he avoided Conner like the plague during the first season, and only bc ppl (Batman) kept trying to push responsibility of this kid on him while he was still processing everything. They literally make up at the end of the season and become brothers. Superman gives him the kryptonian name Kon-el because he considers him to be family.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Superboy #59
If you’ve heard about the “Kon-el means abomination” that was a New 52 thing and New 52 is highly regarded as being *very bad*. (Also N52 Conner is a different character with a different backstory)
Anyway, his first appearance was in Adventures of Superman #501. He’s sassy, flirty, and loved being the center of attention. He’s also a little gullible bc he was literally born yesterday. He wants to give ppl the benefit of the doubt.
Tumblr media
Kon says CLONE RIGHTS. He’s a clone himself (even though technically hes a clex test tube baby and not a clone but wtvr, thanks Geoff johns). He has an evil clone made to replace him called Match and Conner still considers him family.
Tumblr media
Superboy #36
During Kon’s introduction, there was an editorial ban on any kryptonians so “Last Son of Krypton” could stay a true statement. Their work around is that he’s a human clone with an ability that mimics kryptonian powers. This power is called Tactile Telekinesis and he does not shut up about it. Despite its lame ass name it’s actually really cool. He’s able to shield ppl from bullets just by touching them just to name an example.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Adventures of Superman #503 & 506
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Young Justice #2, Superboy #18, YJ #3
Young Justice. I haven’t read much of YJ yet so I actually can’t talk much abt it. Kon, Tim, Cassie, and Bart are the Core Four of YJ and they are incredibly close. Think everlasting trio levels of close. When Kon died, none of them took it well. Cassie joined a cult about him and Tim tried to clone him back to life. Shipping between the them is pretty common, though Cassie is usually agreed to be a lesbian and ;is often shipped with another YJ member Cissie (Arrowette). I’m personably a fan of TimKon and there a lot of comic refs I could use for why, but this is getting kinda long.
Some more stuff:
JLA: World Without Grown-Ups: is pre-young Justice. It’s an impromptu team up of Kon, Tim, and Bart (impulse) after magical shenanigans splits reality in two. I HIGHLY recommend this comic. It’s only two issues and is so damn funny.
Superboy #85: hella goofy. Has some fun interactions between kon, cass, and Tim. Set during cass’ term as batgirl. I still quote his dumb ‘pregnable’ joke often.
Reign of the Supermen (2019) movie: This is a retelling of the Reign of the Supermen arc that started in Adventures of Superman #501. Superboy’s origins has be changed so that he’s more involved with Luthor (reflecting his new origin as half Luthor). In the og comics him and Luthor have like one convo and that’s it. BUT his personality is mostly the same, he’s still the flirty sassy kid with the leather jacket and dumb glasses. The movie is free w/ ads on Tubi, otherwise you’ll either have to pay or pirate to watch.

The excursion in the Batcave hadn't set Danny’s recovery back as much as he'd thought it would, which he was grateful for. He’d missed dinner that day, having slept through it after they had given him additional medication to keep his fever under control. But the next morning he'd still been able to join a few people for breakfast, even if it was a little later than most. It was also a little quieter than usual, with the heavy topic from the previous afternoon weighing on people’s minds.
“...Are you sure you’re still feeling better?” Jazz asked, noting how Danny was absently nibbling on the toast he had with a light cream cheese forgotten on the side.
“Hm?” Danny voiced, twitching his head to look at her before fully registering what she’d asked. “Yeah, I’m okay,” he assured, giving her a brief smile. She didn’t seem convinced though, so he gave her a little more. “I’m just lost in thought, Jazz. Yesterday was… a lot.”
“You mean the part about Raven saying you were probably murdered?” Jason asked, strangely having stayed at the manor that night and stuck around that morning. Cass had ended up starting a hushed conversation that he had adopted these kids as his responsibility since they had shown up closest to his usual patrol grounds, but he wouldn’t comment on it.
“Yeah… Yeah that’s probably the big thing,” Danny agreed with a grimace. Man this guy was blunt. But, also maybe the best one to be commenting about something like this. There were a lot less people around too, maybe it was safe for him to satiate his earlier curiosity. “...I guess out of everyone here you’d … probably understand the most?” Wait, Danielle had said Jason had died before, but she hadn’t said it was murder. “U’unless it was something else that…” Okay this was a lot more awkward than he thought it would be.
“...No, you’re right. I was… murdered,” Jason confirmed, toying with his own cereal for a moment. “But it wasn’t anything crazy magical like you. Just a crowbar and bomb. That and we all know the guy that did it. Piece of shit.”
“Oh…,” Danny responded quietly, thankful that Jazz was decidedly staying quiet and allowing them to converse. “I don’t… Hm… I’m not sure which one I’d prefer honestly,” he admitted with a weak chuckle. “I mean, electrocution is no fun, hurts like a bitch, but… But at least it wasn’t drawn out.”
“...That’s a fair point,” Jason agreed, “I imagine it’s not the part that’s got you so distracted though.”
“...... No… It’s not,” Danny confirmed, lowering his toast as his brows pressed together in smothered guilt. “I…” It was hard to say it aloud, but of anyone he felt like Jason wouldn’t judge him for his thoughts. “S’she said that someone who was there would’ve had to have had the desire to s’sacrifice me or whatever. A’and at the moment I was more angry that she would imply that Clockwork had lied to me, that I - that something had happened that took away my ability to choose. But also… I don’t like what it implies about…”
Jason was quiet as he listened patiently for Danny to voice his thoughts, the words confirming ideas he’d had as well as keying him in on what was bothering Danny. But when he fell quiet before being able to finish voicing his concern Jason filled in what he could guess the worry was. “About who was there with you…?” he half asked, half stated.
Danny flinched when that fact was put in the open, but now that it was it made it easier to add details. “...Sam and Tucker were the only ones there with me.”
“Oh!” Jazz suddenly burst, raising her hands in realization and reaching over to grab Danny, “Oh my gosh! I’m so sorry, we forgot to tell you!”
“What? What!?” Danny sputtered, startled by his sister’s outburst.
“Sam asked Raven about that last night before they left. She was worried that her and Tucker being there could have been seen as them trying to murder you, but Raven said they couldn’t have just been present, they would have had to know about the sacrifice being a payment for the ritual kind of thing and clearly had the intention to kill you,” Jazz rambled quickly. “Sorry! I didn’t think that was what had you so distracted. We were going to tell you last night when you woke up, but you slept through the night.”
Danny had to stare at Jazz in silence while that whirlwind of facts got smashed into his brain. So they had already cleared up that Sam and Tucker hadn’t accidentally murdered him, but forgot to tell him? Well, it was only a few hours later, so maybe he shouldn’t be upset. At least it clarified for certain that his friends hadn’t secretly wanted to kill him. But then it brought him back to the major question that had yet to be answered. “Then who did?!”
That one Jazz didn’t have an answer to, and reluctantly let Danny go to helplessly raise her hands in a shrug. “I don’t know? Maybe no one did? I mean- Mom and Dad couldn’t possibly have accidentally done magic, right?” she attempted with a weak laugh, betraying her own discomfort with the idea that their parents had accidentally done something more dangerous than they’d ever thought.
“No, I think they did,” Danny countered easily, a little miffed.
Jason raised a brow after that, curious what else Danny had realized. “Care to elaborate?” he asked, half because he wanted the answer and half to give Jazz a chance to process what Danny had said.
Danny did not actually want to elaborate, he didn’t want to pull up memories of that afternoon again. But he did realize it was important, and therefore forced himself to answer. “The portal… After drawing that diagram out yesterday, and remembering some things, I realized Raven… might have some merit to what she’s saying,” he admitted, pouting a bit reluctantly since he’d been so ready to discredit her before. “The portal didn’t turn on when I went inside it. It was when I put my-... put my hand on the wall. There was a switch that I knocked, and I realized… it was located at one of the concentration points I drew on the diagram. So I probably completed the circuit by accident, and made it so the stupid ritual thing was complete,” he explained, absently raising his left hand as he recalled the memory.
“...Oh….,” Jason grunted, having not expected that. So this kid’s parents probably really had accidentally mixed science with magic, and Danny had ended up half killed because of it. But despite that, Jason was curious. “Okay… so maybe someone did want to kill you, maybe they actually didn’t. It really sounds like happenstance from what I’ve heard. Does it matter if someone wanted to kill you?” He already knew the answer, but he was curious if Danny would surprise him and actually admit it didn’t matter.
“Of course it matters!” Danny sputtered, bringing a fist to the table. “I want to punch them in the face for ruining my life for the past two years! Do you know how hard it is to get into NASA? I just wanted to be an astronaut and go to space - the literal coolest thing ever to exist - but now my grades are shit and I’m barely passing highschool because of all these ghosts and people think I’m stupid because of it!”
Jason couldn’t help it. After staring at Danny with slightly wide eyes in shock at the outburst, Jason couldn’t help the laugh that escaped him. Though part of it was because Tim had just walked into the dining room and nearly dropped his plate of breakfast and cup of juice after also being startled at Danny’s outburst. Danny was about to get cross with Jason for laughing, but only spared him the lecture when he also noticed Tim there.
Oh- Sorry- I didn’t mean to startle you,” Danny apologized quickly.
Tim just sighed, grateful only a little of the juice had spilled onto the floor. “It’s fine, just give me your napkin,” he directed, setting his breakfast on the table and reaching out for the requested object. Once he had it, wiping up the spilled juice was a quick task, and he was sinking into the chair next to Danny with another sigh. “You’re not stupid, by the way. If you really need the academic records for the job you want, just test out. I’m sure you’ll be fine, and get flying colors. I can get you a study packet if you want,” he commented casually, taking a large bite out of a sausage.
Not only was the comment unexpected, but it also sounded like a flat out lie from someone who had no idea what it was like to struggle at school. “...Yeah, sure. I’ll get right on that,” Danny scoffed sarcastically, going back to nibble on his toast.
“Danny…,” Jazz hushed gently, sympathetic and immediately ready to comfort him.
“I’m serious,” Tim enforced before she could say more. “Well, I dunno how you are with english or something like that, but you’ve got great math and science aptitude.”
Danny just stared at Tim incredulously, not buying it.
So Tim threw a hand in the air and rolled his eyes. “You just recreated a complex concept schematic from memory within a 90 to 95% accuracy range on the measurements and functions, while high on morphine and fever,” he pointed out. “Also, if you’re any good at being a vigilante like everyone has been implying, you’ve got to have great problem solving skills. And that’s hard to teach.”
Danny was now openly staring in surprise, because he hadn’t realized he’d done anything that Tim said. At least, not when phrased in that manner. It wasn’t like he could discredit Tim’s words either, they had all been there as he’d drawn the schematic. “I…” He should probably say something, but he couldn’t think of a single response other than to stare blankly in surprise at the table in front of him.
It caused Tim to sigh again, slumping into his hand and rubbing his brow. “Honestly, if there’s anything you’re dumb in it’s self awareness. I’d switch out a dozen of the interns in engineering for you in a heartbeat.”
Okay, so maybe Tim wasn’t actually pulling his leg, or trying to prank him. If Danny’s cheeks weren’t already red from illness they would definitely be from embarrassment as he shyly sank down in his chair.
Jason laughing that hard wasn’t helping either.

Okay I'm gonna fully admit this chapter was unplanned and full of stuff I actually didn't think I'd get to include 'cause I just could not figure out how to naturally include them in conversation in the previous chapter or any future scenes I could think of at the moment. But then I started working on this next chapter and within the first paragraph was like '......oh..... oh it all fits rather nicely right here actually. |DDD'
So that was fun XD
And then this took awhile to actually post because I hyper fixated and wrote about 11,000 words for this fic of just scattered, disconnected scenes for future chapters all the way to about the end @ v @ I'm excited.
In other topics, I had a request/question if Conner Kent would show up, and I wouldn't mind giving him a cameo, but I am very confused about what his personality is like. 8'DD Can someone info dump on me about him and his relationship with other characters? There's one that had a black t shirt with the superman symbol and he's like this angsty angry guy that I honestly don't find all that interesting and would be hard to write. But then there's this flashy leather jacket flirty boy with a different flavor of angst and fun that I find a little more interesting. But I'm curious what the DPxDC fandom seems to favor more. Are Conner and Clark dad and son relationship? Does Conner get along with Jon? He's friends with Bart, Tim and Cassie yeah? Feel free to link me to google docs, or recommend movies or comics to me |D This boy is a little harder for me to figure out than the other characters.

Post-Mortem Notes II Accepting
Tim Drake did not want to die, nor did he plan on dying. But in the event that he did, he had written letters to his loved ones, which were sent in accordance with his will.
This one is meant for Kon-El.
Kon,
Jesus. How do I even start this?
If you’re reading this, it means I passed recently. But that sounds stupid, doesn’t it? Knowing me, I didn’t pass, so much as I probably got killed.
Was it heroic? I hope so. It would kinda suck if I was done in by something lame.
Think you could do me a favor? Even if it was lame, will you pretend like it wasn’t? I think I’ll rest easier knowing that the hero of heroes thought I did something that made me worthy of his approval.
Because you are a hero, Kon-El. You’re the best of us all, and I mean that.
I know you probably don’t feel like it because if I’m dead, then you’re probably blaming yourself for not stopping it. I hope you don’t, or, that you find a way to stop feeling like that. If I went out because of this life, then I know I don’t regret it, and never will. And that’s not your fault. My death is not your fault. Never will be, never was in the first place.
But, hey, remember when you told me something similar? How you didn’t regret dying because you know you went out like Kal did?
I get that. Dying like you… It would feel pretty darn cool, huh? I bet it did.
Well. Maybe to me. To you, it can’t be easy, and for that, I’m sorry.
I didn’t want to leave you, believe me. I didn’t want to die, contrary to what this letter might suggest. This is just… a contingency.
And hey, we once fought about that, remember that, too? On Apokolips. You were worried I had the same contingencies for you guys that Bruce had for the JL.
I was being truthful when I said I didn’t. I didn’t and I never did. Not even after Lex got his greedy little billionaire hands on your mind– sorry to bring that up, by the way– not even then, did I think that it was a good idea to make a contingency for you.
I trusted you to the end, Kon-El. Know that. I trusted you to the end, just like you trusted me.
I mean, I guess I don’t know for sure if you trusted me up until the end, but it feels like a good guess, right? You’re the only person whose faith in me has never wavered, Kon, not even a little.
I still think about how you believed me about Bruce. You were the only one– and I mean that– the only one who did. It meant the world.
You meant the world to me, Kon-El.
I know I sucked at showing it. I really sucked at showing it. But you did. Still do, even here in whatever comes after.
Oh, you probably know what comes after right? This is my first time, so do you have any advice?
…I’m gonna pretend you said something super cool and smart, here– and probably witty, too. I bet it would have made me roll my eyes, even as I tried to resist a grin.
Sorry, I know you weren’t always a fan of my hiding my smiles from you. I tried to stop doing that, I swear. It was… It was just scary.
I was scared, Kon. What if one day you saw me smile and then you saw what that smile had in it, and you realized how I felt for you? I couldn’t risk my best friendship in the entire world over a crush. So sometimes I had to make my face stay all neutral or something, so that you couldn’t figure it out. I don’t know what I would have done if you had.
I still don’t know. I mean, I’m telling you now, because you have a right to know.
I’m scared it’ll mess up everything post-mortem, though. Will you hate me in death because I loved you in life? I promise that not every encounter we had was touched by my crush. I cherished our friendship more than I can ever find the words to say.
Our friendship was everything to me, Kon. I promise.
Please don’t think of me as weird, now. If you like, you can ignore the parts where I talk about liking you romantically. I won’t be mad.
I mean, I’m dead, so what can I do about it now, you know?
Sorry if this is a lot to take in right after my death, by the way. Ideally, this should be delivered two weeks after. Enough for the shock to fade, hopefully, so that you don’t get crazy overwhelmed.
I’m not sure if that’s enough time for that, to be honest, though. I swear it felt like months before I even hit the denial stage for you.
Either way, I hope this is still a comfort nonetheless. That’s what it’s meant to be. I don’t want to make it hurt worse, though I know it might.
This is meant to be like… I dunno. One last hug. One last hand hold. One last laugh.
I’ve been aiming for humor in some of this, that is. I dunno if it worked. We had very different senses of humor, so maybe I’m really missing the mark, here.
I feel like I missed the mark a lot with you. As much as I hit it, too. You and I kinda stood at odds a lot, I feel like.
On the bright side, I also feel like it was one of the things that brought us closer together. I dunno what I did for you, but I know what you did for me.
Whenever it was hard to believe in the things I believed in… whenever it was hard to see a point to this giant, messy, endless fight… whenever the shadows pulled me too far under, or clouded my judgment, or made me a jerk (sorry)... you were there. You were a bright spot in my life, Kon-El. You were the sunshine and the brightness and the joy. You were the reason I laughed, the reason I smiled, the reason I didn’t succumb to despair or exhaustion or unease. You were the reason I made it through this life as far as I did. You did that, Kon-El. And you do it for so many of us.
You’re a gift to this world, Kon. Don’t you dare ever forget that. You’re incredible, and you deserve so much better than you got. You deserve everything you could possibly want out of life, and then some. And I sincerely hope you’ll go after it, someday. I know you won’t, but I hope someday you’ll be selfish. That you’ll go and get what you want, and you’ll hold onto it tight, and you’ll know that you deserve to have it, and more.
I hope you’ll realize one day that you’re worthy of everything good and beautiful in this world not just because you’re Superboy, but because you’re a person, with a soul. A heroic, bold, sweet, kind, incredible soul, as big as your giant, giant heart.
Thanks for saving me a place in that heart, by the way. Again, your friendship was something so precious to me. So special. Just like you were, to me.
I’m sorry I ever thought I could somehow clone that. I’m sorry I went a little crazy after you died.
Not to overstate my own importance, but just in case I should say it: please don’t go crazy because of my death. It’s not worth it. I’ve been there, and it’s not.
I hope you move on, Kon, I really do. I hope you find another team to love and cherish, and I hope you hang on to our best friends, and don’t ever let them go. I hope you aren’t sad forever about me. That would suck, because you were always the reason I was a less sad person, a less sad piece of our world. You don’t deserve to be dragged down forever just because I seem to be a little too good at spreading that sadness.
Sorry, I think I’m dipping into bat angst again, aren’t I?
I promise I don’t think that awfully about myself. (Again, thanks to you). I just… I really don’t want you to be sad for me. I know that’s a really big ask, but please, for me, try to keep seeking happiness and peace for yourself.
I don’t mean that you should, like, be only happy all the time ever. That’s really not healthy. Please grieve however you need, however works best for you. Don’t ignore it, either. Grieve–
And then let me go.
Maybe don’t forget about me, though. That might suck, to be honest– but maybe it wouldn’t, too, because I’m pretty sure that would give me full haunting rights. So don’t forget me, or I’ll so go Paranormal Activity on you. Your favorite mug? I will break it, Kon. I won’t even feel bad.
In all seriousness, though, I really mean it when I say that you should grieve, and then let me go. Grief is a terrible thing; it’s so hard and cruel, and it sucks the life out of you as much as the person you’re grieving. So just… hang in there for me, okay? Get through the suck, and then you can get to the good.
(There has got to be an innuendo there. I bet you already found it, faster than I did. I bet you’d say it, and I’d be unable to hide a laugh this time).
God… You’re gonna have to forgive me now, because I’m running out of stuff to say. I don’t know what else to tell you... except that I love you, Kon-El.
I love you, and I’m glad I knew you. I love you, and I’m glad you let me be a part of your life. I love you, and I hope you love me, too, whatever form of love that might be.
I love you, Kon-El. Be good. Be safe. Live long. I’ll wait for you on the other side, as long as it takes– and it better take long. You better soak up every moment of your second life. You deserve a full one this time.
Okay. My last request: Imagine me hugging you one last time. And then go hug our friends. Tell them you love them, as much as I love you, Clone Boy.
I love you.
Forever your Robin, Tim.

On the topic of obscure and underrated Superman character, what are your thoughts and personal takes (if you have any) on Mae Kent, a portoplasmic matrix from another universe who was adopted by Ma and Pa Kent as their child and Clark as his younger sibling and had also taken up the mantle of Supergirl a little while before Kon arrived on the scene as Superboy during the Reign of The Supermen storyline following Kara's sacrifice in Crisis on Infinite Earths?
Right I'm just going to use this opportunity to write about all the weird Supergirl alts they had when they couldn't use Kara. Oh man were these some wild ways of working around the ban on Kara.
Mae Kent/Matrix
Tumblr media
Boy is this a weird, weird character in retrospect. Sometimes the Post-Crisis era could give the Silver Age a run for it's money. Overall I thought she was fine but no real substitute for Kara. Man has some stuff with her aged badly like the Luthor relationship or Kon ogling her chest.
Linda Danvers
Tumblr media
Heard her PAD run was really good, never checked it out myself. The concept of a Supergirl who draws her powers from an angelic source is actually pretty cool though. If we can't get Kara herself than I think Linda is an interesting replacement at least conceptually. Obviously she has a very different background from Clark that allows for different kinds of storytelling, she's human, and the religious theme is potentially interesting as well. They kind of skate around Superman and religion, but with Linda you pretty much have to dive in. If she ever comes back they should tie her to Zauriel though, let her be a spinoff of him.
Mia/Cir-El
Tumblr media
What a weird concept this was. Superman's time travelling daughter who was actually a Trojan Horse for Brainiac who merely thought she was Superman's kid. Frankly I'd rework her completely as Kara's replacement since it looks like Kara will become Superwoman. Make Mia a Latina (I thought she was but can't find a source) who gets her powers from Kara in a similar way as Kenan did from Kal. Mia already looks a lot like Sasha Calle, she can be the Latina Supergirl for synergy and also to let Kara move permanently on to Superwoman. Prefer her not being an American, would be cool if she was actually operating in a Latin American country (how about Colombia in honor of Sasha?) but I'm not picky. She can be an American if needed, but I just like having more DC heroes operating outside the USA.

Summary: Avengers enter the cave, and meet the batfam!
Notes: In sorry if this chapter is a bit boring, I tried to keep it light. (I know the techie stuff that I glossed over bored even me) But now that I’m done with the first introductory chapters, I can move to some - hopefully - more fun scenarios!
“Woah.” Peter looked around at the giant cavern that the Green Lantern guy had flown them into. His ring had formed some kind of platform to carry them, and Peter was still theorizing how it worked.
They had flown toward the city - named Gotham apparently - following the mysterious “Batman”. Then reached a waterfall, which had a huge mechanical door system that parted the water. They had gone through a long pathway lit up on the edges before emerging in the cave.
It was huge, with multiple platforms built into the rock. Peter first found himself on one that was clearly meant for vehicles, as there were multiple motorcycles parked beside where Batman’s car stopped. There were other levels that held gym equipment, a sparring ring, weapons stations, and some sort of lab. There was weird memorabilia too. Peter spotted a giant penny, dinosaur, and a Joker playing card. A few more levels had cases for suits, not unlike that which Mr. Stark had. Though some of the suits were strange. One was clearly bloody and ripped. One of the most prominent platforms held a huge computer with a dominating black chair.
However, Peter could have sworn it was playing … The Dinosaur Game? That was weird.
Batman got out of his car the way he had before and made his way over toward the Avengers, where they had been set down by Green Lantern. He opened his mouth to speak, but before he could, a very loud voice called out in the cave, startling everyone except the Batman.
“Bruce! Where the F*** is my AK-47?!”
The Hulk, who had since transformed back into Bruce Banner, frowned in confusion.
No one got the chance to question it, however, because a young man in a skin tight black bodysuit swung from another level, and was now hanging upside down from a support beam near Batman. He had a blue bird on his chest, Peter thought it looked a bit like an eagle. He also had on a black domino mask.
“Hey B!” He said cheerily. “ I should probably warn you that Hood is on a rampage ‘cause he can’t find his gun. And also Robin is threatening everyone as per usual. ” The Dark Knight sighed. “What about Red Robin, Spoiler, and Oracle? ”
The new comer grinned. “Dinosaur Game Championship. Oracle is in the lead.”
There was a sudden shout of disapproval from where the apparent game seemed to be held.
“And Signal?”
“Taking weapons stock while muttering about how insane we all are.” He shook his head. “He seems to forget he’s one of us, and therefore crazy by association.”
The Dark Knight sighed once more, this time with his fingers on the bridge of his nose. “Thank you Nightwing. Would you tell Red Hood that his AK-47 is in the Med Bay where he left it when he was doing his stitches? And tell everyone to meet in the conference room in uniform. Code 27G.”
Nightwings eyes - well, lenses - widened. He glanced at the Avengers. “Huh. Sure can do B.”
He swung up from his perch, flipped onto the platform above him - Peter was pretty impressed at how casually he did so - and ran off, seemingly melting into the shadows.
An awkward silence followed, with the Avengers all huddling protectively together. Peter really wanted to explore - that T-Rex looked awesome - but he saw the worried look on Mr. Stark’s face. This was an unfamiliar situation. They must be cautious.
A moment later Peter had had enough of caution. “Excuse me sir, is that a dinosaur?”
The Dark Knight turned toward Peter and glared. Out of the corner of his eye, Peter saw Mr. Stark tense up. But a split second later the glare softened. “Yes. Animatronic. From one of my early … endeavors.”
Peter grinned under his mask. “Cool!”
Batman lifted his head, and began walking on a path up. “Come, I’ll show you where we can talk.”
*****
They entered a meeting room that was off to the side of the cave. There was already a group present. They were clumped loosely in a corner, boredom and intrigue apparent on their faces. They all stood to attention when Batman walked into the room, all except for Nightwing from earlier. He was currently in a handstand in the center of the conference table, shifting from one hand to the other. He collapsed onto the table at the sight of the arrivals, before quickly jumping to his feet and saluting with an embarrassed grin on his face. Batman rolled his eyes and they all went back to what they were doing, except Nightwing who slumped into a chair.
The group of teeneagers were dressed in more skin-tight suits. Peter was slightly taken aback by how young they were. The smallest seemed to be around ten - perhaps he was this “Robin” mentioned earlier - and the oldest in his early twenties. Most seemed to be about his own age though, in their mid teens. It felt weird to not be the only kid.
The closest was a young man sitting in one of the chairs with his feet on the table. He seemed to be taller than Nightwing, with a broader chest. He wore gray cargo pants, some sort of utility belt, an armored shirt with a red bat on it, a leather jacket, and a red helmet that looked a lot like Tony’s. Peter could already imagine the copyright complaints from their resident billionaire. The man also had gun holsters on each leg, and was stroking a - newly returned - AK-47 in his arms.
The first teenager had black bottoms and red top with a black and gold “X” over his chest, joined by some symbol that looked vaguely like an “R”. He also had a black cape and smooth cowl. He was standing in the corner, leaning against a wall with a tablet and mug of coffee in hand.
A teenage girl stood beside the teen, dressed in a mostly purple with hints-of-black bodysuit and a purple hooded cape. She wore a full black mask over her face, with only white lenses. It was a bit freaky, but she was mostly non-threatening, due to her easygoing posture and laugh, which was directed at the teen with the cowl.
The kid was dressed in black leggings, green boots and gloves, a red and yellow tunic with an “R” on it, black and yellow hooded cape, and green domino mask. Though the strangest thing about him was the huge Katana he was sharpening while sitting at the table. He also had an unimpressed glare on his face. Peter decided that he and Helmet-Guy were the scariest in the room. Aside from Batman.
Another teenaged boy had a tired look on what Peter could see of his face, as he looked slightly disapprovingly at his companions. He stood in more heavily plated bright yellow and black armor with a bat symbol on it. He had a utility belt, and a helmet which looked to be shaped like a bat.
What was with these people and bats?
Peter didn’t get to ask, as at that moment a new person joined the group. Flying down a ramp was a red headed young woman in a wheelchair. She expertly slowed to a stop in front of Batman, who had not yet entered the room. Peter noticed that she had hastily applied a black domino mask, leaving a pair of glasses in her lap, along with a laptop.
“Sorry I’m late B, I forgot where I had put my extra mask. These things keep disappearing!” She said the last part while glaring at the kids.
“It’s fine, Oracle. Now that we’re all here-” He paused, then looked around at the group. “Where’s Black Bat?”
“Handling a Robbery downtown. She’s finishing up. ETA 20 minutes.”
Batman nodded. “Very well, we’ll continue without her, she won’t mind.”
He entered the room, ushering everyone else to do so as well. With a quick glare, all the kids sat down. The Avengers joined them, as there were plenty of seats. The only one who did not sit was Batman.
He spoke once everyone was ready, mainly directing his words to the kids. Peter briefly wondered what it would be like to actually be respected like that, but shook off the thought. Batman quickly and efficiently summarizes the events, including several readings of the energy sources, which only the red and black teen seemed to understand as he nodded along, looking fascinated. Once he was done, Batman turned to the Avengers. “Names. No need to share personal identities if you are uncomfortable. Though since we are from different earths, I doubt it would matter.”
“Everyone already knows our identities on our earth,” Mr. Stark said, receiving several weird looks from the teens. “So it’s not a problem for us.” He removed his face plate. “Tony Stark, I’m Iron man in the suit, which I built myself.” He gestures to Steve Rogers next.
“Captain America, Steve Rogers. Our resident super soldier and senior citizen.” Steve frowned at the last comment.
“Bruce Banner,” Mr. Stark said next, “Alter ego is the Hulk. Anger Issues and Gamma radiation galore.”
Red Robin perked up. “Cool! How did-” He was cut off by a glare from Batman.
“This is Thor Odinson, named… well, Thor. God of lightning, has a hammer. You can call him Sparky Sparky Boom Man.” A pause. “Yeah, maybe just stick with Thor.”
“Clint Barton, codename Hawkeye. Our long distance weapons specialist.” Mr. Stark gestured to Clint’s bow for good measure. The kids giggled and whispered something to each other that sounded like ‘Green Arrow knockoff ’, though Peter didn’t get it.
“Black Widow, Natasha Romanov. Intelligence expert, and ex-assassin.” This got a bunch of whispers from the kids.
Peter was the last to be introduced. He pulled off his mask while Mr. Stark said “The kid’s Peter Parker, our rookie, also known as Siderman ”
“You sure it’s Spiderman,” Helmet-Guy said.
Peter glared. “Yes.”
“Red Hood,” Batman said, frowning. “No antagonizing the interdimensional visitors.”
Red Hood just shrugged and went back to stroking his gun.
The Avengers just sat around awkwardly. The Woman jabbed her elbow into Superman’s ribs, which got him talking.
“Oh… It’s only fair we introduce ourselves, since it isn’t really official earlier.” This time it was Superman who spoke. “I’m Superman, known as Kal-El, a kryptonian. Human name is Clark Kent.”
Huh, he didn’t look like an alien.
“Here we have Wonder Woman, an amazon, demigoddess, and princess. Secret Identity is Diana Prince.” He gestured to the woman, who, despite just being called a princess, looked very threatening indeed.
“Martian Manhunter, a martian known as J’onn J'onzz. Civilian name is John Jones. Yes, quite original.” The Martian nodded in greeting, and Peter was seriously freaking out. A real martian!? Cool!
“Flash, a speedster also known as Barry Allen.” The man pulled back his cowl as Superman spoke.
“S’up?” He asked with a smile.
“And Hal Jordan, one of the Green Lanterns.”
“The best Green Lantern.”
Batman grumbled something that sounded suspiciously like “keep telling yourself that.”
Superman turned to Batman, but before he could, the Dark Knight spoke. “I can do it myself Clark.” He lifted his hand and removed his cowl to reveal a handsome man in his early to mid thirties with black hair and blue eyes. “Batman, also known as Bruce Wayne.”
He turned toward the kids. “These are my kids, as well as partners.”
He started with Nightwing. “Nightwing, aka Richard Grayson. My eldest.” Richard grinned and removed his domino mask. He too had blue eyes.
“Call me Dick,” he said.
“Red Hood, aka Jason Todd, my second eldest.” Jason pressed some button or something on his helmet and took it off to reveal… a domino mask. After a quick glare from Bruce, he sighed and took it off. Revealing black hair and blue eyes.
“Red Robin,” there was a soft ‘yum’ that came from the corner, though Peter couldn’t tell who said it. “Aka Tim Drake.” Tim pulled his cowl back and grinned. He had black hair and blue eyes.
“Over there is Signal, aka Duke Thomas, my ward.” The teen took off his helmet, revealing yet another black-haired kid. Though Duke was clearly african american, and had brown eyes.
“Next is Robin aka Damian Wayne, my youngest.” Damian sneered as if he were above everyone around him.
“Spoiler, aka Stephanie Brown, is a family friend.” Stephanie waved.
“I’m also his ex,” Stephanie said, jutting her thumb at Tim.
Tim groaned. “When will you stop introducing yourself like that?”
“When it stops getting under your skin.”
Tim sank back in his chair and flung an arm over his eyes.
Batman sighed once more. “Oracle, aka Barbara Gordan. Also a family friend, and our tech specialist.” Baraba nodded in recognition. “Now that introductions are out of the way, we must discuss how you got here, and how you’ll get back.”
Everyone nodded and began the discussion. Mr. Stark started off the explanation, going over Anagnorisis, the compound, the gun that they got hit with, and how they ended up in the crater.
The other adults - mainly Batman - popped in, talking about the calculations for such an interdimensional jump. Peter listened intently, as he found it utterly fascinating, but didn’t add anything. Then Tim spoke, listing off a series of numbers and variables, that were received with nods. Peter was a bit jealous that he spoke so easily. So Peter decided to add something later on, a small comment about energy sources. When he did, the conversation stopped. Peter thought he was dead meat for interrupting, but then Bruce - Wayne, not Banner - spoke.
“The kid’s smart.”
Mr. Stark smiled proudly.
A moment later the conversation continued. They went on for almost a half hour, and even Peter was getting a bit bored. He could tell the other kids were too. The girls seemed to have gotten back to their Dinosaur Game championship, and there were small cheers and groans coming from their corner every so often. Jason and Damian had yet to set aside their weapons, though they had begun a small conversation too quiet for Peter to hear. The only people who seemed to be paying attention were Dick and Tim, though Dick clearly didn’t understand half the words that were being tossed around.
The adults seemed to be disinterested as well, namely Barry and Hal, who were in the middle of a thumb war. When they inevitably got too loud, Batman sent a glare their way. The other members of the Justice League seemed to only be listening out of courtesy. As were Thor and Clint. Natasha seemed to be focussed more on the kids. She had a small frown on her face, as if something about them bothered her.
Everyone paid attention when Batman spoke next, however. “It should take at least a week to charge up the energy sources and prepare a device to send you home.”
Peter perked up. “That’s not that long. Have you dealt with interdimensional travel in the past?”
Several of the kids groaned. “Don’t remind me,” Stephanie said.
“Worst twenty-six hours of my life!” Dick agreed.
Then Jason spoke, and Peter was speechless.
“It was almost as bad as that time I died. Now that wasn’t a fun evening.”
“You died?” Natasha said, clearly confused and worried.
“I’m better now,” he said as if referring to a common cold. Jason had a small smirk on his face as he shrugged.
“Back to the discussion at hand,” Batman said, glaring at Jason. “Yes, Peter, we have dealt with the multiverse before. It should be fairly simple to locate your dimension and send you back. The only problem is powering the device. It requires Superman flying out to the sun and placing the energy core inside to fuel it. It needs to remain there for over a week.”
“You can fly to the sun?” Mr. Stark asked. “How do you survive?”
Clark shrugged. “I have impenetrable skin, and a very high melting point.”
No one questioned this, though Peter was quite intrigued.
“Where will they stay?” Dick asked, which caused a sudden silence.
“Does the Watchtower have enough rooms available?” Barry asked.
“What’s the Watchtower?” Peter asked.
“Our space station,” Diana answered, much to Peter’s delight, “and no, we have those visiting Green Lanterns, remember? Hal has been grousing about it all this week.”
“I was not!” Hal said, then sighed. “Okay, maybe I was, but that’s beside the point. What about your farmhouse, Clark?”
Clark shook his head. “Under renovation. Speaking of which I need to head over there after this. Lois will have a cow if I’m late.”
There was silence after that, as everyone was thinking. Then Stephanie got a - slightly evil, Peter thought - smile on her face. “What about the Manor? God knows we have enough space.”
“You don’t even live here!” Tim said.
Bruce glared at Stephanie for a bit then sighed. “The Manor would work. Though why anyone would want to stay with you rabble rousers is beyond my understanding.”
Jason snorted. “Says the guy who adopted us all willingingly.”
Batman grumbled, but was saved from replying as a sudden noise came from the door.
The meeting room had a wide glass window next to the exit - which was open - so Peter had a good view of the sleek black motorcycle that entered the cave, upon which rode a figure dressed all in black. The motorcycle was parked and yet another costumed teen - this time a girl - strolled toward the conference room.
She was dressed in head to toe black, in the form of a skin tight suit. She also had a yellow utility belt, and outline of a bat on her chest. She wore a black cape and cowl which had pointed ears and covered her whole face. There seemed to be some form of stitching across her mouth, which was quite creepy.
She walked forward and entered the room quickly. Bruce smiled upon seeing her.
“Ah, Black Bat. How was the robbery?”
She motioned with her hands in a way that Peter didn’t understand. It seemed vaguely like that sign language which he’d seen Clint use.
Whatever it was, Batman seemed to understand. “Very good. These are our visitors. Code 27G. They’ll be staying at the manor till we can send them back.”
Black Bat reached up and took off her cowl revealing an asian girl around eighteen year old with a black bob. “Good,” she said. “Names?”
“We’re allowing them. Over there we have Tony Stark, Steve Rogers, Thor Odinson, Clint Barton, Natasha Romanov, Peter Parker, and Bruce Banner.”
“Bruce?” She asked with a smirk.
Batman sighed. “Yes.” He turned to the group. “This is my Daughter Cassandra Cain. Alias is Black Bat.”
Everyone muttered small hellos, except Jason who said something with the word “favorite” in it. Cassandra didn’t seem bothered by the lack of enthusiasm. She just smiled and walked over to Damian.
“Seat. Mine.” She spoke simply.
Peter thought the kid would just sneer, but instead he quickly moved over. He could have sworn the kid looked scared. Perhaps the kid was all bark and no bite.
“Well, if that’s all, I really should be going,” Clark Kent said as he rose from the table. “Good luck with staying at the manor. See ya kids.”
“Bye Uncle Supes,” The kids chorused
“I should be going as well,” Barry said. I’m needed at the station.”
Soon the rest of the league left, and the Avengers were left alone with the bats and birds.

Superman & Lois Season 2: What to Expect When the Show Returns
https://ift.tt/3xZHqMm
This article contains Superman & Lois spoilers.
The first season of Superman & Lois has come to a close, and what an absolute joyride it was from start to finish. Are you left craving more? Do you need to spend more time in Smallville ASAP? Well, we’ve got good news for you, because Superman & Lois Season 2 has already been confirmed by The CW, and the first episode has already been written!
We spoke with showrunner Todd Helbing to try and get some details about what to expect from Superman & Lois Season 2.
Superman & Lois Season 2 Villains
Superman & Lois has already given us multiple Kryptonians for Superman to have super-powered brawls and trade heat vision blasts with. There’s always an instinct to just give Supes someone he can hit, but the first season managed to do that while also telling a pretty nuanced, even tragic, story for its central villain. But that just means it’s going to be a little trickier to follow up Tal-Rho with someone equally compelling.
“From the earliest days that Greg Berlanti and I talked about this show, the question was always, ‘okay, if we’re going to do this, how are we going to make it different?’” Helbing says. “And if you go through any of the movies, I think the natural tendency is, you have to have somebody as strong and powerful as Superman, or he would never lose. The story engine that we have though, and what’s really important is the family of it. So once you become a father, once Superman became a father, he has weaknesses that he never had before, his thoughts about Lois, about the boys. That family aspect makes him a weaker in a lot of ways, because he loves more. But it also makes him a better hero, because he has something to fight for.”
It doesn’t seem like Helbing thinks power levels are as important to building a Superman threat as others do.
“It doesn’t have to be somebody that can punch as hard as Superman,” Helbing says. “I think of the end of episode 14, when he came back and he had to tell his wife that he can’t find Jordan. There’s a look on Tyler’s face, like he doesn’t know what to do. Those are the situations we want to put Superman in. Because I think to all of us, writers, actors, producers, that’s the most important and what really works on our show.”
Lex Luthor?
And everybody knows that if there’s one villain who definitely can’t “punch as hard as Superman,” it’s Lex Luthor, who has been brought brilliantly to life on Supergirl over the last few seasons by Jon Cryer. But with Superman & Lois determined to forge its own path, it may be awhile before we get to see Lex show up in Smallville.

Lex Luthor: Jerk Of All Trades
By Mike Cecchini
“Look, I think Jon was awesome as Lex, so I’m certainly open to anything,” Helbing says. “I think we’d have to find the right story where it would work. Lex Luthor is such an iconic character, so it might be a bit, you know what I mean? There are some other characters that we want to explore. If we’re going to make our own stamp here and try to carve out our own story in Superman history, let’s tell some fresh new versions of this.”
Will There Be More Flashback Episodes?
One of the highlights of the season was the flashback episode, which told us big pieces of Lois and Clark’s history together before the boys were born, and showed us Clark’s first adventures in Metropolis as Superman (in that cool Fleischer-inspired costume).
“We’re not going to make the show into Lost,” Helbing jokes. “We’ll certainly have flashbacks if it’s going to help tell the story and help the audience understand where a character is and where they came from so it really lands emotionally, then yeah, we’ll do it.”
Still, that doesn’t mean that a flashback episode is automatically baked into the plans for Superman & Lois Season 2 just yet.
“We don’t necessarily have a format that we’re trying to follow per episode,” Helbing says. “Not having the typical sort of heroic television formula is really, I think, allowed us to approach stories from a different point of view and aspect, and not maybe worry about stuff that I would have worried about on The Flash.”
Will There Be Crossovers With Other DC TV Arrowverse Shows?
The pandemic put the kibosh on all DC TV crossovers this year, although in fairness, those were always expected to be smaller in scale after the massive Crisis on Infinite Earths in 2019. As for what characters or shows Superman & Lois Season 2 could potentially crossover with, Helbing isn’t talking yet.
“I think our sort of north star is just, it’s not any particular character, it’s just whatever benefits the story the best,” he says. “Honestly, it could be anybody right now. I think we’re under the assumption right now that things are going to kind of get back to how they were pre-pandemic, but I’m still a little hesitant to do that. And not just me. I think everybody is a little cautious, and we just want to be safe first and make sure everybody’s protected. We’ll see how it all plays out. I’m optimistic. I would love to do what we can.”
Helbing also teases more information about where Superman & Lois sits in relation to the other Arrowverse shows airing.
“There’s been a lot of talk and questions about how all the shows interact now and are related post-Crisis,” he says. “I think in season two, the audience will get a lot more answers about that.”
Natalie Irons and Steel
Helbing is keeping quiet on all the implications about Natalie Irons arriving from her corner of the multiverse to surprise her father, John Henry Irons, and the Kent family.
“We knew Nat was going to show up, and we knew we wanted her in the show, because we want to explore a new family dynamic,” he says. “I’ll just say, in season two, there’s a lot that everybody is dealing with, having to get used to new members of a family, I’ll just put it that way.”
Yes, we have to imagine she won’t be thrilled to see that her mother on this world is married to the man who murdered her on their world, for starters.
Will Reign of the Supermen Happen?
Look, you can’t blame us for speculating on this. Superman & Lois introduced John Henry Irons, and even gave him his Steel armor and hammer. They introduced the Eradicator, both as a piece of Kryptonian tech and also as the living embodiment of that tech with a mission to make Earth more like Krypton.
And in a sense, it also gave us Superboy. No, not the half-clone of Superman who eventually adopts the moniker of Kon-El (and then Conner Kent) but the actual biological son of Clark Kent and Lois Lane, Jordan Kent. For Superman fans, this is 3/4ths of a set of “replacement Supermen,” the heroes who rose after Superman’s “death” at the spiky hands of Doomsday in the famed Death and Return of Superman comic book story.
Helbing admits that they’ve talked about things, but certainly won’t commit to the possibility, either.
“We talk,” he says. “We kick all that stuff around, and it’s … I won’t say no, but I won’t say yes either, because we already wrote the first episode of season two. There’s some really cool stuff coming.”
And since Supergirl already did a version of Hank Henshaw, the infamous Cyborg Superman, and with all the other love for Superman comic book lore already on display in Superman & Lois, is any of this ever being discussed by the writers?
“I think one of the things that we want to do is we want to stay away from any of the villains that Supergirl did for the most part, unless we’re going to completely reinvent them like Morgan Edge. So we’re trying to find some deep dives and bring those stories out in our show. And I think so far, I’m really excited about season two.”
Superman & Lois Season 2 Release Date
At the moment, all we know is that Superman & Lois Season 2 will arrive in early 2022. The first season arrived in February, so that might be a good spot to pencil in for now.
