A little taste of Bangalore, Mumbai and Delhi
Traveling to other cities on work or otherwise anytime soon? Have you asked the obvious question on your social media about where to eat while you're there? You must have received a plethora of answers and you don't want to spend time sifting through all of them. How about we narrow it down for you and you can stay focused on the eating-your-heart-out part. We'll tell you where you can go to find the best in cities like Bangalore, Delhi, and Mumbai for starters.
Keep these bookmarked for your next visit.
Bangalore
Introducing some of the best south Indian food to you with Southindies in Indiranagar. Not exactly a restaurant for local fare but you will find the best food from all south Indian states. Arisi urundai from Tamil Nadu, kadala curry and parota from Kerala, Mysore masala dosa from Karnataka, Andhra chilli mushroom from Andhra Pradesh are a few among the others from a lavish vegetarian buffet style fare you can have here. If that's one too many vegetables for you, there's Anupam's Coast 2 Coast in MG Road. Dig into coastal specialties like crab curry, prawn masala fry, mussels sukka, chicken ghee roast and more.
Can't do Bangalore without paying a visit to a local pub. That's why we have Toit. This pub is already popular among people from out of town and locals make sure everyone visits it at least once. Don't forget to try their Tin Tin beer and pizzas. If you want to get a real taste of what old school Bangalore pubs are, then head to Pecos on Brigade Road. From appam and stew breakfasts to a pitcher of draught beer with a plate of chilli chicken, you can enjoy a good old fashioned pub meal right in the heart of Bangalore.
Of course, you can't leave without getting yourself some greasy masala dosa, fluffy idlies and crisp vadas with sambar and chutney and the mighty filter kaapi (coffee for the uninitiated). If you have the time and patience to wait for a seat, you should go to Mavalli Tiffin Room (MTR) in Basavanagudi. This is where the rava idli was invented. But we'll anyway tell you what to order: Masala dosa, rava idli and finish this off with filter coffee and then thank all the food gods. If you are in and around west Bangalore do stop by at Shri Sagar (CTR) for their unusually crisp and super delicious dosa. They too have some good filter coffee.
Delhi
As any good food lover, one must start with breakfast. And when you're in Delhi, the options are plenty. One for sure is Chache Di Hatti. Their limited menu has chole kulche, aloo wale chole bhature and sade chole bhature which are enough to give you a true Dilli style breakfast. You could also try Sita Ram Diwan Chand in Paharganj for their legendary chole bhature. If you want a more non desi fare, try The All American Diner for their bagels, French toast, waffles and pancakes.
When in Delhi, eat chaat like a Dilliwallah. The colourful alleys of Chandni Chowk are filled with shoppers and hole-in-the-wall kind of joints that serve some of the best chaat you'd find in the country. Take a bite of dahi bhalla from Natraj Dahi Bhalle Wale and you're sure to experience a flavour showdown in your mouth. Then go to Jung Bahadur Kachori Wala for the flakiest and most delicious kachoris. For something sweet head to Chaina Ram Sindhi Confectioners for their ghewar and gulab jamun. Else, try some piping hot and crisp jalebis soaked in warm sugar syrup at Old Famous Jalebi Wala. Actually, do both.
If there's one thing Delhi folks know, is how to party. Be it on Bollywood music or the latest from around the globe - they are sure to keep the night going and drinks flowing. After all the food from Chandni Chowk you've got shake a leg or two to burn it all, or simply lounge with some of the finest cocktails. The new kid on the block these days is Prankster, in Gurgaon. Not just local and imported beer, they have some good house brews too. And their food is not just plain old pub grub, but a delicious mix of Indian and international dishes. Kitty Su is one of the more established party spots that most Delhiites have paid a visit at least once. They are known for their cocktails and a place where you can bust out some moves. Another place for good food, cocktails and good times is Monkey Bar. Go there with your friends, get some cocktails, some pizza, shoot some pool and make a night of it.
Mumbai
The city that never sleeps, they say. But you've got to wake up and have breakfast, don't you? Let's give you a little taste of what the locals here eat on the go. Try some misal pav at Mamledar Misal in Thane West. A plate of the misal pav and some kokam sarbat to cool off will set you back ₹75. The iconic Bombay sandwich - green chutney slathered on buttered bread and veggies scattered about, then pressed in a grill to toast both sides to give you an utterly delicious sandwich - is available on any street corner. But if you're in Breach Candy, head to the Right Place for some of that toasted goodness with some ice cream for company. For cafe lovers there's Bistro 1 in Lokhandwala or Candies in Pali Hill. These old favourites won't disappoint you either.
For lunch, we'd like for you to roll up your sleeves and tuck into some of the best seafood you'd find in the country. Serving some of the finest seafood since 40 years is Trishna in Fort. Don't forget to try their signature dish, crab in butter pepper garlic sauce. A home style set up and serving pretty much everything in the ocean is Fresh Catch in Mahim. If you want to try some authentic Malwani style food then there's Chaitanya in Dadar West. Of course, not to forget the Mangalorean fare at Mahesh Lunch Home that has gained so much popularity outside of Mumbai that they've opened branches in Pune, Bangalore and Dubai.
You can stay awake with the city too at some of the best bars there. On the lines of your friendly neighbourhood bar is Elbo Room in Khar. With their retro music, delicious cocktails and a vibrant ambiance, they're sure to win you over. If you're someone on a shoe string budget and don't flinch at the thought of dive bars, then this classic bar is for you. The Ghetto in Breach Candy has a fun vibe and affordable drinks. The Glocal Junction in Lokhandwala has a fun menu filled with some great cocktails and food. --- Travel wide and far on work or pleasure. But don't forget to feel the pulse of every city you visit with its food.

This is a place you must stop by for an indulging experience. . Our Scores Location: 5 Taste: 5 Quantity: 4 Presentation: 4 Ambience: 4 Hygiene: 4.5 Service: 5 Cost: 4 . Our Review: 4.5 / 5 MH 09 is an extension of the Shetkari restaurant, well known in Kolhapur for servicing authentic Kolhapuri cuisine for about 20 years. This is a small place with humble ambience. They can accommodate around 16 people at a time, so you might have to wait during peak lunch & dinner hours. There are chairs kept outside for you to wait and you’re served with ‘Kokam sarbat’ as welcome drink this is a sweet gesture when you’re a visiting on a hot summer day. There is a common notion that Kolhapuri cuisine is very spicy, but let us tell you that this place will break that myth. The food tasted so comforting and satisfying as it was perfectly cooked with the right spices and core flavours of Kolhapur making it right to eat and to have a mouthful of flavours. People prefer having a Thali (chicken, mutton or veg) for a sumptuous meal. However, you can explore the rest of the menu and won’t be disappointed. Chicken Kharda, Mutton Ghee fry and Kheema is something that you must try. We would especially talk about the ‘Jawar Bhakri’ which was served hot and is specially prepared by the women staff they have hired from the native Kolhapur to give you the perfect “Aaichya haatachi bhakri”. You’re served with ‘Gud’ (jaggery) at the end of the meal . #foodreviewonline #maharashtra #mumbai #foodie #foody #maharshtrian #thali #thane #mumbaikar #foodofmumbai #indian #food #goodfood #goodvibes #cosy #kolhapuri #mutton #chicken #yum #tasty #instafood (at Mh09-SHETKARI) https://www.instagram.com/p/BtiK-8TF7tl/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=rwqxey2bsl8d
