one quarter of my hue shift afghan is done! i’m really hoping this project will keep my interest, as i’ve only ever finished ONE afghan (despite starting many lol).
i think the color changes and stripes really help my brain stay interested though, as this has been easier than other attempted large blankets. i do have another panel in process that i’m making good progress on, so that’s good!!
i also chose my own colors for this instead of rainbow/other pre-selected palettes. i’m hoping it will end up kind of sky-like at the end but we’ll see ! 😅

Finished the rainbow shift baby blanket! It’s made from leftover yarn of the hue shift afghan I made recently. Had about 66g of each color left, used about 34g of each to make the blanket. So there’s enough for another! Mwhahahahaha!

Knitting a handspun scrap square to test some yarn. This is not even the yarn I'm testing, just was sitting nearby, but I am obsessed with this diagonal pink mark. Really want to recreate it at some point. It's 2 ply and sort of bouclé in places, but I've certainly made 2 ply bouclé before and not had such a striking effect. Color obviously plays into it but I think it must be mostly the gauge, right ? Hm.

Made this patchwork blanket during the pandemic as a way to work through a lot of the scrap/extra yarn I had. I even flew across the country with my squares when I went to quarantine with my sister!
I realized I never posted about it since it wasn't very ~~aesthetic~~ but it has been such a good blanket for me since then that it seems like a shame not to share it! It is just warm enough to be comforting, but not so heavy that it makes me sweat outside of winter months
Pattern: Kraft-tanken-Patches

This has been almost done for weeks, waiting for me to knit ribbing and sew side seams. Finished just in time for fall.

Tortured myself in sizing but it's good after blocking.

got reminded it has been a while since i've done a knitting round-up, so here we are!! Last time I said I was only doing the active projects and honestly, hated that approach. So now we've got all of them back on the plate.
First picture, top to bottom, left to right: [jem cowl] [mini quinn] [birch creek bandana] [hollows] [trigradient shawl] [color symphony]
Second picture: [holocene] [ethos cowl] [esther jacket] [koko] [irish chain afghan] [triangular shawlette]

80 squares down, 20 to go. This really will be a tiny “blanket”. Maybe one of my dolls can have it or I can use it for weird picture backgrounds.

I haven't knit anything in forever but had three garbage bags full of yarn and thought I should make some use of it. This is a couple color combos of Noro Transitions, I lined it with flannel to cover the wrong side and make it softer and more comfy. :) Prob pretty basic compared to crafters around here but I thought it turned out pretty even though I randomly grabbed a bunch of skeins and went to town... so I'm sharing!

made a slight miscalculation on a blanket i’m knitting… with the bulky yarn and the large needles, my 50in by 60in blanket measures at 74 inches wide. i’m only at 25 inches long and i’m already halfway out of yarn. i did not intend on making a six foot two blanket. send help

i don't know who needs to hear this (me), but collecting yarn is not a hobby. (it's me) you have to actually use it. you have to do something with the yarn. just stockpiling it is not enough. (i'm the yarn hoarder)

Knit this square yesterday, the yellow is that little skein of handspun hampshire that I dyed in the second round of exhaust. I got pretty far on an acrylic garter stitch scrap blanket à few years ago, before realizing I hate acrylic and have less than no use for a blanket made of the stuff. But man, the squares looked really nice. This blanket is stockinette because I intended to practice flat colorwork, but I wish I'd just done garter stitch. I love how it looks a lot more. Anyway... the gray is some Jacob scrap. I like both sides, not sure which will be face up when I sew it on. I need to block a ton of them atm, just don't really enjoy it. (That is another benefit of garter stitch squares).

Also the bread. Just finished its first rise. It's a blend of bread flour, whole wheat, and rye. The rye was accidental, I was looking for either spelt or more whole wheat but it wasnt labeled and light in the basement was off, so I grabbed rye accidentally, and... eh. Also has toasted Pecans. Idk, all my bread is 'what if I tossed a bunch of random stuff in a bowl while having very thick brain fog ?' But it usually tastes pretty good.

Also, 3 rolags down. I'm taking a long time with them trying to get all the vm out, but I think it's actually working really well. We'll see.

Fixed some snags and washed my mom's afghan. She said that I made it while I was in college. When in college, I don't remember. I do remember that I made from a Bernat kit that I got for $12. Strange to look back on something that I made so long ago.
