I expected something more terrifying to Spidey-Kun while I was reading the 6 Parter of The Arachnis Project comic book series.

For most who respond to abusive fathers by bullying others, breaking and entering is the height of their crimes. But Thomas Fogge happened into the home laboratory of a Raxxon physicist and ended up with the power to dissipate into a thick smog. With this great power, came a far greater crime spree.

But then a simple museum robbery went sideways. Fogge hadn’t meant to injure the guard but in the struggle for his gun it went off and.

The blood went everywhere, including onto the armor of a Cuman warrior.

And Mordar was reawakened.

Mordar had been blessed, or perhaps cursed, by the Kam of their tribe that he would return to haunt the world when a libation of blood was performed on his armor.

Sir Knight and Mr Fogge work well together, the magic binding Mordar making him uninclined to disobey any exact order he agrees to balancing out Thomas’ disinterest in planning and preparation.

Okay so,

I was inspired to spell out some comparisons/similarities me and a few other Jedtavius fandom-goers made years ago back when the fandom was much more dead. At the time I had called it the "Jedtavius Circle" but I feel like there's a better name for it out there somewhere

So, I made a venn diagram to show all the weird similarities these films have with each other, and how I feel they are personally connected in a way that is so unique.

Since the image and the writing may be hard for some to access and not all the details I'd like to add will fit in the image, I will also do my best to explain these comparisons in text:

There are three films/franchises being compared here with their respective mlm ships:

1. Night at the Museum (Jedtavius)

2. Around the World in 80 Days (2004) (Phileas Fogg x Passepartout)

3. Shanghai Series (Shanghai Noon, Shanghai Knights) (Roy O' Bannon x Chon Wang)

What Night at the Museum and Around the World in 80 Days share is that they both have characters played by Steve Coogan that have implied or coded romantic connection or ships with another main character, that other character played by one of the other two actors listed.

What Night at the Museum and the Shanghai Series have in common is the exact same, except instead of Steve Coogan being shared by these films we have Owen Wilson.

And, much the same, for Around the World in 80 Days & Shanghai Noon/Knights we have the same comparison as for the other two (implied romantic connection and/or is commonly shipped with a character played by another one of these actors mentioned) this time with Jackie Chan.

But get this: something all these films share is that they are queer-coded or implied silly little historical comedies from the 2000s, which on top of everything else, links these films to one another in a way that I haven't seen in any other media before.

(Another fun fact mentioned in the diagram: Owen has a cameo in Around the World, technically meaning he was in all three films. This cameo is also believed to be where Owen & Steve first met.)

The Tapestry by Zdenka - T - 1.2k - Theodwyn & Miriel - From one seamstress to another, through the ages.

Jacquetta was the only woman named in the manifesto, among important knights and influential men at court, all men of war, and the fact that she was mentioned shows that she was regarded as politically important in her own right, and not merely as Rivers' wife. The manifesto was meant as propaganda for the general public and written to appeal to the masses. Perhaps this is why Warwick and Clarence felt the need to clarify that the duchess of Bedford was Rivers' wife. There do not seem to be many other occasions during this period in which a woman was particularly singled out in this way. The duchess of York, for example, was not implicated in her husband's many quarrels with Henry VI and his councillors. Jacquetta's inclusion shows, at the very least, that Warwick and Clarence considered her powerful and influential in court and had a very personal hatred against her.

SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN #165-167 JUNE - AUGUST 1990 BY GERRY CONWAY, SAL BUSCEMA, RENEE WITTERSTAETTER, SUZANNE DELL’ORTO, BOB SHAREN AND RICK PARKER

Spider-man fails to save the life of the Arranger, but his death takes him to England to fight against his killers... Knight and Fogg.

It’s so weird to look at Buscema’s art. At times, it looks like a comic-book from the sixties, others from the eighties.

He has great moments, and it is usually thanks to the dynamism in his art, and sometimes a creative use of different layouts.

The script is a little bit hard to get used to. It’s fine, a little bit soap opera, but that sometimes work well in comic-books. I think it was mostly fine, but I could have done without the “Peter Parker gets amnesia after hitting his head”.

I am really curious about the American writers depiction of English people. I mean, the idea that it is always raining in London us not true... but it is common enough to be practically true. But, you know, I never heard an actual brit say “gov’ner”... maybe they stopped saying that after a certain decade and the writers on the other side of the pond didn’t get the memo? Or do they still say it?

And why don’t we say it in Aotearoa?

There is also a minor plot around MJ being alone and being seduced by another soap opera actor... and she feeling conflicted because she was tempted.

OK... but... well... I guess that is... a plot that could work...

If you were wondering, Spidey gets his memory back, right on time, because there weren’t enough pages in the last chapter, so he had to catch up with being Spider-man really fast.

But overall, it was entertaining.
