hi, maybe was so cute!! do you have any headcanons about living with Stefan or like a fluffy domestic story? :)
- you guys wait a little while before moving out together and it’s ultimately because it gets very awkward always being over at Stefan’s with his dad home.
- you guys start renting a small apartment that’s near Tuckersoft and your workplace (bonus if you work there with him)
- its got just enough space for the two of you and you guys share the spare room as an office but Stefan spends the most time there
- the two of you aren’t great cooks so in the beginning dinners consist of kraft mac and cheese (I googled to check if kraft was a thing in the 80s to be sure and I found out that there were pac-man and super mario themed packs and Stefan would 100% buy them you can’t argue with me on this)
- you guys would usually leave and get home around the same time so you would cook together
- eventually you both get tired of instant mashed potatoes and microwave meals so you’ll try and cook more ambitious things
- you guys work super well together so the food actually turns out good and you’re both shocked
- if Stefan had a lot of work to get done he’d go straight to your home office and you’d take care of dinner and viseversa
- you guys would have a lot of movie nights and stay up talking about whatever you watched for most of the night
- you guys watch cooking shows together and then try to recreate the food (this either happens mid-day on weekends or Fridays at 3 am there’s no in between)
- you guys also wouldn’t have to worry about falling asleep watching tv or movies and having Stefan’s dad find you both on the couch passed out on top of each other (it’s happened a lot in the past)
- you guys can play your music as loud as you want (with respect to your neighbors though)
- although you guys spend almost every moment of your day together you’ll still go out on dates and you guys get ready together and help each other choose what to wear (its a lot easier to steal his sweaters now and you’ll wear his clothes a lot)
- if you have a car then you’ll carpool together to and from work or you’ll take the subway together unless your workplace is in the opposite direction but either way Stefan always tries to pick you up after work
- Stefan will invite Colin over A LOT
- they’ll watch a movie or get high (or get high and then watch a movie) and you’ll join them sometimes
- sometimes he’ll bring Kitty and Pearl and you guys will just have dinner together
- you and Stefan will get high together sometimes
- after a long week of work you‘ll sit outside on your balcony passing a blunt back and forth (Colin probably rolled it for you guys) or share a brownie
- if you’re not into getting high then you’ll just talk to him from the door or sit with him and not smoke and then watch a movie or head to bed together
- every time he releases a game he’ll hold a small get together with his co-workers (its super intimate and it’ll probably just be Thakur, Colin and like two other co-workers)
- Stefan’s dad will call sometimes just to check up on the two of you and you’ll convince him to invite him to dinner one day
- Stefan doesnt really miss living with his dad but he does miss his childhood home sometimes and he’ll open up about that to you after a little while of living together
- they’ll be a photo of Stefan and his mother hanging in your living room
- you’ll recognize when Stefan’s getting too deep into a project or starting to go down the hole and pull him back up
- you’ll be the one to drag him out of your home office to take breaks and make sure that he’s eating and taking his meds
- when work is stressing you out he’ll be there to make you feel better too
- Stefan would make you your favorite food or drink and put on a movie he knows you enjoy
- he’ll try to help you out in whatever way he can and if you want space then he’ll respect that and leave you alone for a little bit
- you guys love living together and genuinely work well together, you respect each other’s boundaries and make sure that the other is alright and it’s overall a really healthy environment:~)
A/N This is my first time doing headcanons so sorry if this was terrible but I really enjoyed writing it so please request more!

LUCY AND TENNESSEE ERNIE'S FUN FARM
S1;E23 ~ March 10, 1969
Directed by Jack Donohue ~ Written by Bob O'Brien
Synopsis
A farmer (Ernie Ford) wanders into the Unique Employment Agency in need of farmhands. Instead, Lucy proposes they turn his farm into a vacation spot for city folks. They start with a TV commercial to get the word out!
Regular Cast
Lucille Ball (Lucy Carter), Gale Gordon (Harrison Otis Carter), Lucie Arnaz (Kim Carter), Desi Arnaz Jr. (Craig Carter)
Guest Cast
Tennessee Ernie Ford (Ernie Epperson) was the first and only celebrity to make three guest star appearances (playing a variation on himself) on “I Love Lucy.” A popular country singer of the 1950s, "I Love Lucy” was his first credited ‘acting’ job, before his big hit with the song “Sixteen Tons” in 1955. Ford was first mentioned on season in “Lucy Writes a Play” (ILL S1;E17), when playwright Lucy mistakenly dubs herself the next Tennessee Ernie, instead of Tennessee Williams. He then appeared (also as a variation on himself) on “The Lucy Show.” This is his fifth and final appearance on a Lucille Ball sitcom. Ford was fond of alliterative character names. In addition to Ernie Epperson, he played Homer Higgins on “The Lucy Show,” Loser Lumpkin on "The Red Skelton Show,” and Kentucky Cal on the Desilu-produced "Make Room For Daddy.” He died in 1991.
Epperson owns the Broken Plow Farm in the ‘sue-burb’ of Calabasas.
The Back Porch Majority (Themselves) was a folk music group founded by Randy Sparks in 1963. It was intended to be a rehearsal space for The New Christy Minstrels, another group Sparks had established in 1961, but it ended up becoming successful on its own. The group released six albums and was chosen to provide entertainment at the White House in 1965. They previously backed up Ernie Ford on “The Lucy Show.”
The members of the group are Rusty Richards, Jet Sharon, Kathy Beaudine, Kittie McCue, and Kyra Carleton.
Larry Billman (Dancer, uncredited) was seen on Broadway in the short-lived musical revue Vintage '60 (1960). He has less than ten screen credits and made his career in charge of live entertainment for Disney theme parks. He died in May 2017.
The revue features a live cow, a donkey, and two horses. Other singers, dancers, and musicians appear uncredited.
Two days after this episode was first aired (March 12, 1969) Lucie Arnaz made the first of her three appearances on NBC’s “The Kraft Music Hall”, hosted by Wayne Newton and featuring Judy Carne and Tim Conway. Lucille Ball does not appear.
All the singing and instrumentals are prerecorded, although naturally Desi Jr. played his drum solos live. Lucille Ball has only one brief line of solo singing during “Heavenly Music” and it does not sound like her voice. It is very likely Carole Cook, who has been Lucy's ghost singer on two previous occasions. Gale Gordon is also dubbed in that song.
When Lucy asks the overalls-wearing Ernie if he is a farmer, Ernie replies “Well, I ain't that Omar Shareef on his way home from a square dance!” Actor Omar Sharif was nominated for a 1963 Oscar for Lawrence of Arabia and had won a Golden Globe in 1966 for Doctor Zhivago. There is a slight resemblance between Ford and Sharif because they both wore mustaches for most of their public lives.
Lucy and Ernie joke about Los Angeles' smog problem. The word smog is a portmanteau of the words smoke and fog. The problem was particularly acute in Los Angeles during the latter half of the 20th century. So much so that the word smog became synonymous with Los Angeles to many. Smog was the source of several jokes on “The Lucy Show” after Lucy Carmichael re-located to Southern California, one of them during Ernie Ford’s last appearance in “Lucy and Tennessee Ernie Ford” (TLS S5;E21).
Ernie says he drives a Model-T. The Ford Motor Company manufactured the Model-T between 1908 and 1927, and it is considered the first affordable car.
The commercial that Lucy and Harry do for Ernie's Fun Farm gives us a glimpse of them as a dysfunctional married couple, complete with two teenage kids!
As the bickering couple, Lucy calls her husband (Sheldon) Porky Pig and the Jolly Green Giant. He calls her the Bride of Frankenstein. Porky Pig was one of the characters in the Warner Brothers cartoons voiced by Mel Blanc. Blanc had appeared with Lucille Ball on radio, films, and TV. The Jolly Green Giant was the mascot of a frozen vegetable company of the same name frequently seen in television ads. “The Bride of Frankenstein” (1935) was a film sequel to 1931's “Frankenstein” based on the novel by Mary Shelley. Coincidentally, the Bride was played by Elsa Lanchester, who guest starred on “I Love Lucy,” and an upcoming episode of “Here's Lucy.”
Amidst the clutter of the living room is a bath towel stolen from the Commodore Hotel, a historic building in downtown Los Angeles that has recently been converted to apartments. The Commodore of Hollywood opened in 1927 and has been home to countless celebrities as they launched their careers.
One of the knickknacks on the coffee table is a glass bunch of grapes. If it looks familiar, it previously appeared in “Guess Who Owes Lucy $23.50?” (S1;E11) where there were two of them. After this appearance they became part of the living room set on “The Brady Bunch” which also filmed at Paramount. The recent reality show “A Very Brady Renovation” mentioned tracking them down.
Ernie pays the bickering couple a quick visit to bid them come to his Fun Farm, singing this a capella jingle:
“We're only 45 minutes from L.A. People all breathing fresh air. Even a hog smells better than smog When you're 45 minutes from there.”
The tune Ford uses is inspired by “45 Minutes from Broadway” by George M. Cohan, written in 1906 for a musical of the same name. The title refers to the length of time to travel by train from New Rochelle NY to Manhattan.
The commercial turns into a fully-staged musical revue. Although a lot of standards and show tunes are used, special lyrics to suit the plot were written by Bob O'Brien.
The orchestra plays “Oh, What a Beautiful Morning” from Oklahoma! written by Rodgers and Hammerstein in 1943. A film version was released in 1955. Lucy Ricardo once lied that she was in Oklahoma – then confessed she spent two weeks in Tulsa once. Rodgers and Hammerstein (aka Dick and Oscar) were names frequently dropped on “I Love Lucy.”
The Back Porch Majority sings “On a Wonderful Day Like Today” from the 1965 musical The Roar of the Greasepaint – The Smell of the Crowd by Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley, who also sang it in “Lucy in London” (1966, above).
Ernie sings “Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah” a song written by Allie Wrubel and Ray Gilbert for the 1946 Disney film Song of the South. It won an Oscar for Best Song.
Ernie and the Carter Family sing “Heavenly Music” from the 1950 film Summer Stock written by Saul Chaplin and originally performed by Gene Kelly and Phil Silvers wearing similar costumes.
Ernie and the Back Porch Majority sing “Y'all Come” written by Arlie Duff in 1953. It was sung by Ernie Ford in “Tennessee Ernie Hangs On” (ILL S3;E29). Coincidentally, in that episode he was also on television, doing a (fictional) show called “Millikan's Chicken-Mash Hour.” Both times there were specially written lyrics to suit the episode's plot.
Kim does a specialty dance backed up by the male ensemble – all wearing sombreros. The choreography was by Jack Baker, with assistance from Anita Mann.
Lucy and Harry do an unusual combination of a square dance and the Mexican hat dance.
Craig (also wearing a sombrero) does a drum solo using a variety of instruments.
In a spotlight, Ernie sings a quiet version of "Little Green Apples" backed up by the Back Porch Majority. The song was written by Bobby Russell for Roger Miller in 1968, becoming a Top 40 hit.
The episode ends with a reprise of “Y'all Come” and a hoe down, natur'lly.
Lucy Ricardo did a TV commercial to sell Aunt Martha's Old Fashioned Salad Dressing in “The Million Dollar Idea” (ILL S3;E13) where she also played a bumpkin character.
In the commercial, Lucy wears a blue chenille bathrobe that looks very similar to the one that Vivian Vance wore in 1952's “Breaking the Lease” (ILL S1;E18) and other episodes. It is possible that it could be the same robe from the Desilu wardrobe racks! It was also worn by Ann-Margret on a 1970 episode of “Here’s Lucy.”
At the start of the musical revue, Lucy Carter is milking a cow, something that both Lucy Ricardo and Lucy Carmichael also did! In real-life, Lucille Ball owned a cow she called Duchess of Devonshire when she lived with Desi at Chatsworth Ranch.
The last time viewers saw Ernie Ford on “I Love Lucy” he was calling a square dance.
This was also true of his “The Lucy Show” appearance. Here, the last time Lucy and Ford perform together, he does the same thing. He even repeats a few of the same calls in both episodes:
“Grab yer partner, pat her on the head. If she don't like biscuits, feed her corn bread!”
In November 1968, Lucille Ball appeared on “The Tennessee Ernie Ford Special” where she blacked out her teeth for comic effect.
Get the Door! During the TV commercial, when Harry (as Sheldon) slams the front door, the suction causes the closet door to swing wider open, momentarily distracting Gale Gordon who quickly turns to see what is moving behind him.
Fashion Magazine? In the commercial, ‘Craig’ browses through Fashions magazine, an unlikely choice for a teenage boy. Perhaps this iteration of Craig is destined to become a fashion designer?
Loose Lips! Although Harry's comical yodeling during “Heavenly Music” is obviously not Gale Gordon's voice, there are times he gets more involved with the wayward daisy in Lucy's hat than the lip synching.
“Lucy and Tennessee Ernie’s Fun Farm” rates 3 Paper Hearts out of 5
This episode is like a cross between “Hee Haw” and “The Grand Old Opry” but very short on plot. After a few lines of Ernie's homespun wisdom, there is a very funny TV commercial which imagines Lucy and Gale Gordon as a bickering married couple. The rest is a straight up musical revue.

B- i love visual stimming so much!!! i have a blog dedicated to just visual stimmy videos @pokemonyello (shameless self promo lol) also i love tactile stimming even though my skin picking makes it restricting to tactile stim much. i also totally dig chewing on things from food to.. not food. i wish i had a chew necklace that i could wear in public :P i have one but its big and meant for babies so.. needless to say i dont wear it much C- i kkkkind of answered this in the last one? but more specifically i like stims like rocking when i can, rubbing silky textures like my lanyard/baby blanket (i like smooth textures like the silicone charm on my lanyard i have to stop myself from chewing on it haha) and i love rubbing my fingers together i was literally just doing it while i was trying to think of another example lol!! D. when i was rlly young just barely before i was introduced to pokemon i was really fixated on animals, specifically like insects (like satoshi tajiri!!) and dinosaurs! i looooved dinosaurs and owned lots of books on them. i also really loved steve irwin the crocodile hunter i sent a letter to him when i was 5ish :3 and of course pokemon came around eventually lol! E. four fun facts!!! hmm heck. im bad at this, i can usually come up with facts depending on random context better,, 1. did u know that the Official pokemon mascot was almost clefairy? they eventually decided pikachu was more gender neutral i gues (u kno... bc clefairy is Pink... thas for gorls only everyone knows) 2. did u know pokemon stadium in the us was actually technically the intended expansion to japanese pokemon stadium? it was meant for the nintendo 64 disc drive as an upgrade to the original game but the disc drive did not do well so they just sold it as pokemon stadium (1) in the us as a separate game. 3. super smash brothers for the 64 actually started out as just a plain ole fighting game! the liscensed characters came into the picture later because the makers thought it would make the game more appealing to have it star characters like mario, link, pikachu, and captain falcon. 4. (this one i just learned a couple days ago!) in super monkey ball 2, in the name selection before you start story mode, there is every letter in the alphabet except for lower case w! you can type a capital w but no lower case. also some levels have background things removed to compensate for space, like how the fish is removed in the level "URL" and the vegetables in the soup are gone from... the level with the multiple wormholes and the tilty small paths? i forgot the name of that level :'3 also in one of the levels one of the background assets is randomly yellow, even though that part isnt yellow anywhere else. i forgot which level this one was too haha. F. im a mixture of being loud and quiet! around people i dont know im usually quiet and avoid talking/interacting with people but if youre someone im comfortable with its hard to get me to even stop talking and i can get accidentally pretty loud xD G. usually avoider? i think? if im alone at home i seek sensory input but i avoid unexpected/uncontrolled noise or overwhelming feeling textures a lot H. lots!!!! i love big sweaters, shirts, pants, stuff like that! sometimes stuff like skinny jeans or leggings is okay but not too tight. same with shirts. i end up feeling really uncomfortable in tight clothes I. honestly i dont get many autistic related accomodations from people since im not diagnosed and im not out to most people.. but sometimes my mom will give me apples in my lunch but when she does she peel s the skins off of the slices because she knows i cant stand the texture of the skins. she is so kind :) J. https://youtu.be/rUEVjLvO6FA this video of me when i was about 11? very much me very much an autie child... if u watch it u can tell i clearly havent changed much hahaha K. usually my fav sensory outfit is about what im wearing now, except im wearing not as comfortable tightish pants also my shirt isnt as comfortable but i wore it bc its a pokemon shirt... so thats good. but my hoodie rn is a Good L. when i was little i always kinda thought they looked like hamster paws but i didnt really call them that? i used to do that with my hands bc my friend did it too but my mom stopped me lol. now i like raptor hands and kitty hands thats rlly good M. i always loved imitating animal noises, especially cats! i love meowing at my cat back when she does it :P also this isnt Animal mannerisms, but my mom said i used to try to make facial expressions and talk like i was a cartoon character which is still kinda how i see myslef haha! also i used to pretend i was pikachu even if i was just alone also one day i only talked to my mom in pikachu speak (pika pika!) N. i used to love mac and cheese but Only the kraft kind with the skinny noodles, i would not eat any other shape of noodles haha. also i went through a phase where i wouldnt eat anything with melted cheddar on it (which is weird bc now i love cheese) also one of my favorite foods in the whole world when i was in 1st grade were these little mexican chocolate cake treats they had jelly in them and my friend roberto used to give me them at lunch i wanted them all the time!! i tried looking up the name of them i found buba lubas and they were rlly similar but i dont think it was exactly those O. now i dont rlly? have "same foods" mostly because im less picky now and i will eat most things... but i think anything with dairy is kind of a comforting constant, like if we have rice and curry or soup or smth i always put sour cream/greek yogurt/ranch in it otherwise it feels like a chore to eat lmao? P. already answered!! Q. time for my own question!!! for my autie followers: did u guys ever have stuffed animals/toys you really loved or love now? u should share abt ur favorite toy in the replies!! infodumping is fun, feel free to tell me abt ur favorite pal as much as u want my dudes thank u thwomp for the ask!!! i spent so much time answering this it was a lot of fun :3
#my posts#long post#asd#actuallyautistic#i rlly rlly hope mobile doesnt mess up the formatting!!!!! id have to wait to fix it :s

When you get this, please respond with five things that make you happy. Then send to the last ten people in your notifications 🌼 {IC or OOC !}
In no particular order...
1: Really good porn where nobody talks and the guys moan/grunt freely
2: Really stupid movies that elegantly sit astride the line between campy and offensively terrible and spank themselves at you, daring you to watch them sober
3: Kraft Macaroni n’ Cheese (it’s my comfort food, don’t you fucking judge me)
4: Snuggling my kitties until they get fed up with me and kick me in the face trying to get away
5: You! And all my friends and peeps who have cool things to say to/about me all the time, and play silly fantasy games with me all the time

Musical Kitten Gift Wrap
Meet your best new cat friends: Bandana Kitty and Top Hat Tomcat! Use a kraft paper bag and just a few tools from your craft cupboard to make the most adorable gift wrap you’ve ever seen! Whoever receives these beautiful will definitely love the wrap as much as whatever gift you put inside. If you want to keep your kitties on display, you can even adapt these instructions to wrap an open-topped storage box instead!
A few notes before we begin:
All sizes will vary according to the specific size of your box, so I tried to also include general proportions in addition to measurements for my 8.5” X 5.5” (22cm X 14cm) box.
I strongly recommend making ALL your pieces before gluing down. You can see how everything looking before committing and will avoid the chance of gluing small pieces underneath larger ones.
Since this tutorial features two variations, follow step 1 through step 7 for both designs. At Step 8 you can choose your own adventure!
Gift or box
Paper bag or kraft paper
Scissors
Glue (I prefer glue stick)
Black construction paper/cardstock
Pencil
Contrasting paper (I chose white)
Clear tape (for wrapping the gift)
White pen/pencil (optional)
Printable template 1 and template 2 (optional)
Step 1 Wrap gift/box with a paper sack, kraft paper, or solid color gift wrap. I used a paper grocery bag.
Step 2 Use extra paper scraps to cut out two triangular ear pieces. I made each of the ears approximately ¼ of the box’s shortest side: 1.5” or 4 cm for a box 5.5” or 14cm wide. You can use the printable template, or make your own by drawing a right-angle triangle, then adding an extra rectangle on the bottom (where you will put glue to attach it).
Step 3 Use extra paper scraps to cut out two arms. Use the printable template, or make your own by drawing a wonky macaroni noodle shape with one end (the paws) a bit bigger than the other (the shoulder).
Step 4 Make a tail from scrap paper. Use the printable template or draw your own squiggly “S” shape.
Step 5 Using black paper or cardstock, cut out eyes, nose+mouth, and six thin whiskers (I like to make my middle whiskers a bit longer than the tops and bottoms). Use printable template or experiment with drawing your own. A white pen or pencil can make it easier to see markings on black paper.
If you hate handling tiny bits of paper, the face and whiskers can alternatively be drawn onto the box with a black marker.
Step 6 Time to make the accordion! Cut a long strip of white paper or cardstock. It should be at least twice the length of the box’s shortest side. Follow the template or photo to make the necessary folds.
If using cardstock, I find it very helpful to carefully score the paper with scissors or the back of a craft knife, or a bone folder.
Create the “accordion fold” by alternating folding the paper to the left and right. IMPORTANT: Be sure the first fold of the “accordion fold” area (which would be the third line) is folded DOWN from the first “decorate” area. You can improvise your accordion, but you need to have an even number of folds in the “accordion fold” area.
Step 7 Flatten your accordion out and decorate the designated “decorate” areas to your liking. Add keys, buttons, and whatever designs you like.
And now it’s time to CHOOSE YOUR ADVENTURE! This tutorial features two variations. Directly below are the instructions for the “Bandana Kitty.” Skip ahead to Step 10 for “Top Hat Tomcat” instructions.
Step 8: BANDANA KITTY Choose a contrasting color of paper or cardstock to make the bandana. Use your box as a stencil to trace the correct size for your project.
Cut out the paper bandana shape.
Decorate however you like, or leave a solid color.
Step 9 Using the same paper as you did for the bandana or a complimenting one, use your box to trace a rectangle shape to make an outfit for your kitty. I made mine approximately ⅔ of the box’s height.
Decorate as you like. I spontaneously decided to make a collar from black cardstock.
Step 10: TOP HAT TOMCAT As you can see, I followed Step 1 – 7 and have all the same pieces, but scaled down for a smaller box. For this step, choose a contrasting color of paper or cardstock (I chose white). Use your box as a stencil to trace a rectangle the same width and approximately ¼ – ⅓ of the height.
Cut away an upside-down arched “V” to make a patch of face coloring.
Step 11 Draw two overlapping triangles and cut it out to make a little bow tie.
Step 12 Use black cardstock to draw a top hat (a square on top of a long, thin rectangle), and then add an extra rectangle at the bottom where you can put glue to attach to your box. Cut out.
Step 13 It’s time to put it all together, whichever style you’ve picked – now comes the really fun part! You’ve worked so hard getting all your pieces ready, and now it is time to grab your glue and start sticking things down. You can mostly attach the pieces in any order, but be sure to glue the “outfit” on the Bandana Kitty BEFORE the accordion. The face patch of the Top Hat Tomcat needs to be glued BEFORE the face pieces, but I bet you already knew that. ;)
To attach the tail, align the tail the way you like and attach to the back BEFORE gluing arms and accordion.
To attach the arms, apply glue to the shoulder area and attach to the sides of the box.
The accordion needs to be glued in the designated “glue” areas PLUS on the bottom ridges of the accordion folds, so they stay in place and don’t pop out away from the paper.
Step 14 Fold the “paws” so they overlap the accordion to make it look like your cat is playing the instrument.
Happy wrapping!!

Over 100 Innovative and Exciting Toys & Games Are the Judges’ Top Picks for the Holiday Season
The Toy Association has unveiled the 123 finalists for the prestigious 2019 Toy of the Year (TOTY) Awards. Known as the “Oscars” of the toy industry, the TOTY Awards program recognizes the top toy, game, and licenses in the industry, and supports children in need by serving as a critical fundraiser for The Toy Foundation.
Finalists were announced by prominent online influencers who serve as TOTY Ambassadors. Between now and January 6, families can visit www.ToyAwards.org to vote for their favorite playthings in each of the 17 categories, including Action Figure of the Year, Innovative Toy of the Year, and Collectible of the Year. [SEE FINALISTS BELOW]
One winner in each category, as well as the coveted “Toy of the Year” award winner and the “People’s Choice” winner (based solely on consumer votes), will be announced at the TOTY Awards gala to be held on Friday, February 15, 2019 at the Ziegfeld Ballroom in
New York City. The celebration will kick-off the 116th North American International Toy Fair and will include the induction of toy industry trailblazers into the esteemed Toy Industry Hall of Fame.
“If you’re wondering what to get the kids and ‘kidadults’ in your life this holiday season, this year’s TOTY finalists are the hottest toys and games on the market. Whether you are looking for a doll, a board game, or the latest youth electronics, you’ll find great gift ideas for children of all ages. Every one of the TOTY finalists has been carefully screened by judges for its outstanding ability to deliver joy and wonder while facilitating key developmental benefits of play,” said Steve Pasierb, The Toy Association’s president & CEO.
“Importantly, the TOTY Awards program supports The Toy Foundation’s important mission focused on serving children in need – whether they are living in foster care, impoverished, dealing with a traumatic or life-threatening illness, or facing other adversities,” added Pasierb.
The finalists were selected from more than 550 nominees submitted by over 200 companies of all sizes. Nineteen judges, including toy and play experts, retailers, academics, and journalists, reviewed and ranked the products in specific categories relevant to their areas of expertise. The judges then participated in a live discussion to determine the finalists in each category. They considered each product’s creativity, design, play value, and marketing.

In 1984, the Toy Industry Hall of Fame was established to recognize the people behind the power of play. Every year for the past three decades, members of the industry have proudly nominated hundreds of men and women – from toy inventors to toy retailers – who have made their mark on the industry and created a love of play in the hearts of children of all ages.
The Toy Industry Hall of Fame Committee carried forward for 2019 both Stan Lee (Former Chairman, Marvel Comics) and Brian Goldner (Chairman & CEO, Hasbro, Inc.) as two of the three leading vote-recipients and planned inductees from 2018. Mr. Goldner had previously stepped aside to give Mr. Lee and Ms. Andrea Barthello the spotlight while it was later determined that Mr. Lee’s induction would be delayed one year. Hall of Fame Co-Chairmen Neil Friedman and Alan Hassenfeld commented, “The Nominating Committee Members are excited to finally induct two outstanding individuals in Stan Lee and Brian Goldner who had the support of the voting membership, our Committee and The Toy Association’s Board of Directors.”
2019 Living Inductee Brian Goldner, CEO, Hasbro
Nominated by: Reuben B. Klamer, Reuben Klamer Toylab
2019 Hall of Fame Recipient Brian Goldner
Since joining Hasbro in 2000 and taking on the role of CEO in 2008, Brian Goldner has been instrumental in transforming Hasbro from a traditional toy and game company into a global play and entertainment leader. During his tenure, Hasbro passed the $5B revenue mark for the first time in company history. Mr. Goldner pioneered Hasbro’s entry into entertainment and has served as an executive producer on a number of films based on Hasbro brands, including the wildly-successful Transformers films and the 2017 animated feature My Little Pony: The Movie. He is actively involved in driving corporate and community initiatives to fulfill Hasbro’s purpose to make the world a better place for children and their families. Hasbro ranked No. 5 on the 100 Best Corporate Citizens list for 2018 by CR Magazine and was recognized as a 2018 World’s Most Ethical Company® by the Ethisphere Institute, a global leader in defining and advancing the standards of ethical business practices.
2019 Living Inductee Stan Lee, Former Chairman, Marvel Comics
Nominated By: Pat Feely, PSF Consulting
2019 Hall of Fame recipient the late Stan Lee
The late Stan Lee, former chairman of Marvel Comics, has been an important creative force in the toy industry. His impact on the vital action figure segment is unparalleled; Mr. Lee co-created Spiderman, The Hulk, The Fantastic Four, Iron Man, X-Men and many other prominent characters alongside several artists. Over the years, Mr. Lee has mentored countless creators of characters, motion pictures, and toys and led the expansion of Marvel Comics from a small division of a publishing house to a large multimedia corporation now owned by Disney. He also headed the first major successful challenge to the industry’s censorship organization, the Comics Code Authority, leading to policy reform. Mr. Lee founded the Stan Lee Foundation in 2010 to support programs and ideas that improve access to literacy resources, as well as promote diversity, national literacy, culture, and the arts. (Mr. Lee died on November 12, 2018, at age 95.)
2019 Posthumous Inductee Joe Mendelsohn, Former President, Kenner Products

Joe Mendelsohn joined Kenner Products in 1956 and led the company as president from 1978 to 1985. During his tenure Kenner thrived, producing major hits each year in the categories of toys, dolls, and fad items. Mr. Mendelsohn guided the development of Kenner’s product lines and interacted with the industry merchants who were so important to Kenner’s success or failure. He ensured that his customers always had a flow of hot merchandise and that promotions were adequately backed by product that was critical to a retailer’s success.
Mr. Mendelsohn was a big believer in partnerships in business and strove to develop them with each of his business partners. He always solicited input from those around him (as well as from retailers) and leveraged that input to make his company a leader in the industry. He was a respected executive during a period of dynamic growth at Kenner, and within the toy industry as a whole.
