for amber: does your OC have a tendency to get jealous? If so, how does this manifest?

jealousy is one of those pesky emotions that amber doesn't really have time for. she thinks it's a waste of time to harp on 'what could've been' or what she wishes she had. thinking like that takes away from her mission at hand, and she has to remain focused on that mission, lest she fail at her duties as savior/scion.

that being said... the first time she ever really experiences jealousy is when she's been away from khrysalis for awhile away during arc 4. when she visits again, a denizen briefly mentions that since the events of arc 2, many burrowers have wanted to court dyvim. she keeps an entirely straight face and flat affect about it... but inside, something twists. it's more symbolic, if anything, of how she begins to open herself up to regular emotion as time goes on.

for genevieve: what's one way your OC has changed since you first came up with them?

genevieve's original concept was like... ravenwood mean girl. she was supposed to be a myth student who gave cyrus' shit right back to him. and she has stayed partially true to those roots, but since then, i've had fun digging into the parts of her that are a little less morally sound. she doesn't follow the same code of ethics as ambrose, the council of light, etc. she largely does things the way that she wants to do them, which leads to the denizens of the spiral not quite knowing if they should praise or ignore her.

originally, genevieve just went with the flow of the story because she had to. now, she's kind of the anti-hero of my young wizard oc roster. she'll get the story beats done- but she's going to do it her way.

for primrose: how far is your OC willing to go to get what they want?

prim is not as ambitious as ambrose and co. would like her to be. she is debilitatingly cheerful, upbeat, and good-natured, to the point of being content in mundanity. she sees the original story beats (such as being sent to krokotopia) as a "fun opportunity to learn more"- and quickly gets more than she bargained for. because she isn't expecting the hardships she faces, it's pretty easy to knock her down. she relies heavily on her allies to keep her on track. she has the magical ability, but her emotional ability needs work, especially in the early arcs.

things get easier for her from celestia-on. she learns to channel her enthusiasm into her do-gooding, and really adapts a "kill them with kindness mindset." she gets much more persistent and stubborn as time goes on, but with that lethal dose of positivity worked in.

I think it’s a very funny idea that his backstory is the exact same despite it being an X-Men-less universe. He’s still Weapon X and did military work, it’s just that once he decided he was done with it all, he decided to become a teacher at the private school. You find this out when he’s whisked away for S.H.I.E.L.D shenanigans while the band is doing some mundane activity. Cue everyone trying to get Kurt’s chemistry grade up periodically interrupted by Mr. Logan going through actual hell.

I mentioned before that I think he knows the bass. It’s just a hobby of his, mostly to take his mind off of things, so no one else really knows he can play. Except for one specific alumni;

Mr. Logan actually recommended Rogue to Xavier’s mutant education scholarship after having a chance encounter with her. While she refused to take residency up in the Institute, she eventually gave into Mr. Logan’s urges to at least attend the school. This is the start of their delinquent-child-who-gets-adopted-by-the-gruff-old-man dynamic. Mr. Logan eventually teaches her the bass, and she really takes off with it. I can see her being a part of her own southern fem punk band after she graduates.

(I think it goes without saying that Rogue is the group’s vodka wine aunt that makes her occasional appearance. When Mr. Logan is preoccupied, leave it to Rogue to recklessly drive them to their gigs.)

Also, while we’re talking about the band universe, I think I figured out the eventual 5th member;

Meet Kitty Pryde, the freshmen that joins as their second guitar. She also knows how to play piano, but she prefers the mobility guitar grants her (she cannot stand still when she plays music). She probably met Kurt first in the music room while she was practicing for a piano recital. Though Kurt can recognize the musical talent she has, she can tell her heart isn’t into it. So now there’s a montage of Kurt and Kitty messing around with other instruments. Neither of them really know how to play anything besides piano, they’re just trying to see what feels right for Kitty. And that’s how she finds her interest in guitars.

I think it would actually take a while before she gets used to guitar. Hank would try to teach her, but Kitty’s learning style just doesn’t match well with Hank’s teaching style. So everyone thinks that she’s just not meant to play the guitar until some sort of epiphany happens, and suddenly she can absolutely shred.

She rounds out the group quite well, don’t you think?

Imagine you and sukuna having a son, but some time throughout in kindergarten he gets really invested into hello kitty. So you go out with your son to buy some hello kitty shirts that he can wear to kindergarten! He’s overly thrilled and excited and starts to get into the pink bows too, wanting a hello kitty bag as well 😭 you of course can’t deny your sweet baby.

The next day you come to pick up your son from kindergarten, he runs up to you excited to see his mom. As you hug your son back, you fail to notice two other parents coming up from behind your son with their kid walking hand in hand. You’re a bit surprised when you hear them laughing, saying “so this is s/n’s mom,” you pull away from your son standing up to face them properly, this comment alone making you pull your son close to your legs, a scowl forming in your face when you hear the mother of the couple say, “I don’t know about you, but I find it a bit..let’s say risky to let your son walk out like that. I mean hello kitty-?” The woman was close to finishing her sentence but got interrupted by her own laughter of arrogance. Her partner and her child slowly joining in as your son can’t help but lower his head in shame.

Just as you’re about to say something, you feel a reassuring hand you know all too well rest in between the space of your neck and shoulders, pulling you into the very comfort of your husbands chest. “Are you this insecure to laugh at a 6 year old about a shirt he fuckin’ likes?”

He talks back from behind you, the couple’s smile fading away at a pace so quick it had you pressing your lips together holding back a chuckle from coming out. The parents on the other side take in his rough, buff appearance, his white buttoned up shirt tucked in lazily into his black slacks, the fabric pressing onto his toned thighs. His sleeves rolled up revealing his veiny forearms and the hard to miss tattoos. His outfit clearly missing of a fitting jacket and a tie that he’s gotten rid of not too long ago, seemingly just coming back from work. Their gaze shift back to his face, a tired yet hard glare drilling right into their very skulls, the man on the other side visually intimidated, swallowing out of nervousness as he took in Sukuna’s slicked back, peach colored hair, a few strands falling onto his forehead, the result of his hands always messing with it after a long day at the office.

Instead of a snarky comment, the couple retreats back, knowing better than to start a fight with Sukuna and his family as the husband pulls his kid and his wife away from the lingering glare that towers above you.

Your son shoots his head back up screaming in excitement when he sees his father, asking to be picked up. Walking back to the car, you could only do so much but smile when you overheard Sukuna giving his son a mild scolding for not standing up for himself. You however had to interject when Sukuna started his ramble about how his son needs to beat up the kids that pick on him for liking hello kitty-

The next day it’s only Sukuna picking up his son, standing with his arms crossed in front of the entrance with some of the other parents, who couldn’t help but steal a judgmental peek at the man. But it wasn’t the tattoos nor his in general rough and intimidating looks that threw them off.

It was when they saw a little copy of Sukuna, undeniably his son running out of the door, his cute pink hello kitty shirt resembling that of his father’s that they started to get the message.

4. when scared, does your oc fight, flee, freeze, or fawn?

in the first arc, genevieve is definitely the type to flee. she herself would say this is less because she's scared/overwhelmed and more because she just cannot be assed to care. she doesn't want to be the savior of the spiral, so when she can avoid conflict, she does. of course, some of this mindset stems from fear, though she won't admit that.

however, things change in wintertusk. being isolated for that long kind of unearths something in her, and at a certain point, she absolutely snaps and goes off on an enemy, killing them in a more brutal way than intended. from that point on, she harbors a kind of bloodlust that makes it much easier for her to fight. by the time arc 3 roles around, fighting becomes her default, whether necessary or not.

12. is your oc self destructive? in what ways?

YES! genevieve goes from being extremely posh, moody, and stuck-up, which doesn't afford her any extra friends/allies, to being... a bit unhinged and unpredictable, which also doesn't make it easy for her to connect with others. because of this, she often sabotages relationships before they have a chance to begin, acting outright rude or off-putting to potential allies right off the bat.

she has a lot of anger re: her upbringing (her parents, originally from mirage and empyrea, moved to marleybone before she was born) and her lack of say in becoming a child soldier that she takes out on others in order to keep those who she assumes may hurt her at bay.

20. does your oc have a tendency to get jealous? if so, how does this manifest?

though she would deny, deny, deny it... yes, she does. genevieve grew up wealthy, meaning that she's always been very spoiled by her doting parents. she doesn't react well to not getting what she wants. she's very jealous of fellow wizards who get to live a more normal, everyday life, and lashes out to them as a result. it isn't until arc 3 that she actually begins to take pride in her role as the savior of the spiral.

also... on a more personal/emotional level... she really does not know how to regulate her feelings. so, for example, if she had an extreme attraction to a certain bat (she doesn't!!!!!!!!) and someone looked at him in a certain way, she may go into a complete tailspin... and get simultaneously very angry and very clingy

Thanks!! I'm so glad u like my art but tbh I never had a permanent art style lmao, the style of my art always depended on what brush I use. It's sometimes very frustrating for me to have different art styles and I sometimes wish I have 1 definite art style lmao.

(I want to incorporate something similar on a smaller scale within my artwork, I don’t plan on posting anything but I can run the art past you if your worried about me actually stealing your style)

sure! as a note I'm not a pro or anything, this is just how I render my comic for ease of access

as a general note I draw everything in black and white first

I use a LOT of texture heavy brushes for effects, and specifically because I render with gradient maps a lot. people ask me why I do AU's in different styles - usually anything outside of feralnette is done in color - but that's because the rendering process is different.

for instance in the dad villain au, I do basic linework and chunky colors. if I was to do Feralnette in the same style, the gradient maps wouldn't nearly have the same effect, as you can see up there ^

when a gradient map is applied I can fiddle with the color values to set a Tone for the update I'm going for, while also making it really pretty, bc textures can really bloom the subtle colors in a gradient map. I get a lot from the CSP page itself, but I also MAKE a lot too. this specific map I made by color picking off of a neuron map from a brain scan I thought was pretty~

I don't do the feralnette AU in full color because generally, anything IN full color will have significance - either to show that a scene is important character development,

is a flash back,

or to put emphasis on something supernatural happening.

with Feralnette, when something is colored purposefully, its to emphasize it, whether that be to highlight character moments, or to stress that something eldritched and unnatural could be occurring, as its colors that do not exist in the pre-existing gradient map. Color out of space, yknow?

((SOMETIMES I put gradient maps on my colored chunky stuff, but once again, for the purpose of creating a tonal shift, like when papa Tom shows up in the dad villain AU!))
