💬 EAxis somehow managed to break 18 Deformer Maps that control the shape of all of our bodies back in July with Update 7/23/2024. Since then, we've had TEN (10) Updates, TWO (2) Kits, TWO (2) FOMO Events, ONE (1) Expansion Pack, and TWO (2) "Creator Kits", BUT THEY STILL HAVEN'T FIXED OUR BODIES!

🌺 "KEEP READING" TO UNDERSTAND HOW THIS AFFECTS EVERYONE AND NOT JUST MALE SIMS WITH FEMININE FRAMES:

All sims aged TEEN through ELDER are affected by this but you will only see it under certain circumstances:

The distortion will not occur when wearing frame-appropriate clothing.

Cisframe sims will see it when wearing clothing that was made for the opposite Physical Frame. As a cisframe simmer, you might still ask yourself how this affects you, to which I will say, for the last 10 years EAxis has done and continues to do a horrible job at their own Restrict Opposite PartFlags despite numerous bug reports. There are numerous clothing made for one or the other that is improperly flagged for the opposite, eg. there are MANY Lower Body pants available for Female sims that appear under Feminine Fashion that was made for Male sims and cause distortions on Female bodies. They were NOT remade for Female sims. The Male item was flagged for both Fashion Choices.

Transframe sims will see it when nude or wearing "default" underwear and also when wearing clothing that was made for the opposite Physical Frame. The above applies, but if you've got a transframe sim, you've already encountered that issue even before this "bug" was introduced. Fixing these incompetent Restrict Opposite PartFlags is the core concept behind my CAS Overrides.

Male sims with Feminine Frames will see a raised "spine" from neck to butt while Female sims with Masculine Frames will see a sunken "spine".

Female sims with Feminine Frames wearing Male clothing will see a raised "spine" from neck to butt, and Male sims with Masculine Frames wearing Female clothing will see a sunken "spine".

met during the events of season three, and grew closer following ward’s death. y/n really inspired him to be a better person and see the best in himself.

at the beginning of their relationship, rafe was very hesitant to show any type of vulnerability or emotion, worried he would come off as “weak” or “overbearing” and scare y/n off. slowly but surely, y/n showed him that he doesn’t have to hide and can express himself however he needs to when he’s with her.

rafe’s love languages are definitely physical touch and gift giving… and he loves to shower y/n in both

y/n’s love languages are definitely quality time and words of affirmation. she loves spending time with rafe doing anything or nothing, as long as they’re together she’s fine with that.

y/n wasn’t nervous about introducing rafe to her family. she loved him so much and was well aware of his own familial issues, but she also knew her family would care for him as much as she did.

on the other hand, she was very nervous about introducing rafe to her cat, kit kat:

“why are you sweating so much? do you need some water?” rafe asked as they pulled into y/n’s driveway. “no, it’s fine. i’m fine.” y/n trailed off. “you’re acting weird, baby," rafe reached across the console, taking y/n’s hand. “i’ve already met your parents, and they’re wonderful people. i don’t—” “no i’m just nervous about you meeting kit kat.” y/n mumbled, avoiding the small smirk that crept on rafe’s lips. “the cat?” rafe stifled a laugh. “don’t laugh, cameron! this is very serious!” y/n groaned, running a hand through her hair nervously. “what if he doesn’t like you, then what?” “you’ll just have to get rid of it i guess.” rafe said with a shrug, causing y/n to gasp. “that is not funny, rafe. and don’t call him ‘it’.” y/n scowled.

while kit kat did in fact like rafe, rafe held some sort of one-sided beef with the small, fluffy gray cat. he was fine with cats, but what he didn’t appreciate was how the cat always stole y/n’s attention…

rafe picks her up every saturday at exactly 9 am (even though he despises getting up anytime before noon on the weekend) to get coffee and stop at her favorite flower shop. the look of “surprise” on her face when he gets her a bouquet always makes his heart melt. because of this, he always made sure the vase in y/n’s windowsill was always filled with fresh flowers.

when rafe made it to 100 days clean, y/n woke him up with a cake she had spent the whole night making and a new lingerie set she had seen him eyeing the last time the two of them went shopping on the mainland. he wasn’t used to this sort of celebration or attention on his accomplishments, but needless to say he was very happy with the surprise.

y/n pushed rafe to reconcile with his sisters, encouraging him to make an effort to apologize to them and tell them about how much he’s changed from this violent, drug addicted young man he used to be.

for christmas, y/n convinced rafe to wear matching sweaters with her to their friends’ christmas get together. never in his life would rafe cameron ever thought to find himself doing something as cheesy as that, but with y/n, it just felt natural. not even topper and kelce’s teasing could shake his commitment to seeing y/n smile at their identical sweaters:

Hi all! I managed to jinx myself by saying there wasn't a lot to add to the Compendium this week... and then I found a tonne of resources. I can't say I'm complaining about looking like a fool, though! 🪸

A lot of these resources were shamelessly sourced by xiv.sleepyshiba's masterlist! While I tend to endeavour to provide general / creative resources, their master list does contain a lot of discords / guides you can check out around raiding, combat guides, PVP etc. I might have missed. Send them a coffee if you want, for their kit is pretty comprehensive!

I have tried to include sources I can see have been actively maintained but I can't promise all are 100% accurate or up to date. If in doubt, send me a DM.

Additionally, due to the fact I am slowly increasing my collection, the Compendium has expanded its sections from four to five! We now have a dedicated lore section for anyone who wants to learn more about the game. 📖 I'm hoping this will encourage people to write and submit their lore compilations knowing that people will see them.

In the info post it says you have like 5 generators up while playing, may I ask what they are/do? I wanna implement random generators into my game play and find myself blanking on what even to randomize so I'm curious what others do - sorry if this doesn't make sense, love your art :))

(It's a little long so I'm gonna put a break in here)

I don't have everything up right now, but i'll try my best to remember them all here: - I had a randomizer to randomize which cats were picked at the start, (Basil, Fallow, and Rain were selected). I also randomized what roles they got in the clan (lucky Rain was chosen as medcat considering his trait haha) - Every moon I randomize the number of cats that go on a patrol, who they will go with, and I randomize what kind of patrol they go on. (I unit the apprentices with their mentors if possible). Choice is not randomized from there though, these cats will ALWAYS proceed on patrols. - I randomize the deputy selection (I don't let the leader pick because I find a lot of the time they pick cats who like? just joined or haven't mentored yet. So I let the wheel decide between the "available" options- Coalthorn was the only one who could be picked so he bypassed this). Same with mentors. These are less generator based and more the settings I have for my playthrough if anyone is interested: - Mass Extinction events are turned on only if the clan exceeds 20 cats. - Cats can breed with cats who are not their mates. - No same-sex breeding, but they are more likely to adopt. - Cats can have kittens with an unknown second parent. - Cats cannot have romantic interactions with former mentors/apprentices. - First cousins cannot have romantic interactions. - All apprentices will graduate at 12 moons (I actually didn't realize I had this one on, but i fear it may be a bit late to change haha). - Cats with permanent conditions can decide if they'd like to retire or not. - The clan will not have mediators. And lastly, here are the rules the cats abide by in my playthrough: - "Defend your Clan, even with your life. You may have friendships with cats from other Clans, but your loyalty must remain to your Clan, as one day you may meet them in battle." Yes, they follow this 100%. - "Do not hunt or trespass on another Clan's territory." All cats always proceed on patrols, so they do trespass at times. This isn't upheld unless they are caught haha - "Elders, queens, sick or injured cats, and kits must be fed before apprentices and warriors. Unless they have permission, apprentices may not eat until they have hunted to feed the elders." I don't have the prey system in place for this run, but yes I would say they do this. - "Prey is killed only to be eaten. Give thanks to StarClan for its life." Yes, however cats are not expected to pray. - "A kit must be at least six moons old to become an apprentice." Yup! Even if it was possible, no cat under 6 moons would be apprenticed. - "Newly appointed warriors will keep a silent vigil for one night after receiving their warrior name." Yes, this is expected. - "A cat cannot be made deputy without having mentored at least one apprentice." Yes, as stated before this is a prerequisite. (Coal being an outlier). - "The deputy will become Clan leader when the leader dies, retires, or is exiled." Yes, if both are killed/retired/exiled the medicine cat will decide via Starclan. - "A Gathering of all three Clans is held at the full moon during a truce that lasts for the night. There shall be no fighting among Clans at this time." Nope, news is exchanged through messengers if needed. The clans are fairly far apart and have no particular fondness. - "No warrior can neglect a kit in pain or danger, even if the kit is from a different Clan." Yes, this applies to apprentices as well. - "The word of the Clan leader is the warrior code." Nah, they follow the same rules as everyone else and the deputy and medicine cat(s) act as advisors. - "A warrior rejects the soft life of a pet." Yes, even if the life of a pet isn't super glamorous at this time. - "Medicine cats may not have a mate or kits, as they must be able to heal all cats equally." Hey everybody, it's Bluejay! I run the Lost Kits blog, Magpieclan and BluejaysWarriors (my main blog is m/jiskindacool but without the slash bc I don't want my non-warriors friends to find me </3) Anyways, I just hit 100 followers on the Lost Kits account, which makes it the perfect time for a certain event!

Hazelkit's story is in need of background characters for an upcoming battle, and I want your help!

My personal headcannon is that memento mori made Gray more demon so he’s got a bit of a taste for blood. He was going to keep it secret but after defeating Avatar one of the members were like ‘they’ll never accept you. You’re a monster!’.

Also that Avatar messed Gray up. He just casually mentions his initiation (ie torture) or Briar and Jerome being a bit too friendly, or not being able to get out a blood stain. And everyone is just wtf?

Gray gets sick a lot, and its never just a simple cold or small fever, its always smth vaguely serious

and the dragons absolutely despise it, they also despise that its not something they can just destroy

Every time Gray gets sick all their inner dragons are immediately running in circles with the need to make him feel better

He sniffles once or gets a tiny scrape and theres a multitude of crashes and yelling to find blankets, med kits, and trying to find the best spot for him to sit down at

Wendy is extra feral and protective during these times

(which is saying a lot bc her dragon is definitely the most protective normally, whether bc its young or bc theyre a healer so thats their job to protect doesnt matter, it just is)

she has bitten people for getting too close (ie. within 40 ft) to them, even if theyre in a public place

Shes also forgotten shes a healer multiple times bc her dragon was so hellbent on the good old fashioned hands on approach

During one of the times he was bedridden at home, they found an book with Isvan style recipes in it, then proceeded to try and make something from it

they failed, they are complicated recipes and they probably wouldve failed home ec

but its the thought that counts and count it did bc Gray practically threw himself at them in a hug when they told him what they tried to do

GOING OFF THE HC OF DEVIL SLAYERS SLEEPING A LOT THING LIKE CATS (ty @bluneko91 for the idea) i think Gray in general has always been the type to sleep anywhere and everywhere

but now he can actually easily get to those hard to reach places and nap, and hes a menace with it

a weekly occurrence at the Fairy Tail guild is half the dragon slayers frantically searching for their demon slayer, looking in his past usual haunts (at the bar, on a table, under a table, makarovs office, on the stairs somewhere, the more random the more likely)

only for him to be found on the rafters 100 ft off the ground

when they find him they have about a good 7 seconds of peace before they verge yet another cardiac event bc holy shit oh god hes gonna fall!!

another common scene is Gray sleeping (in less dangerous places) and having various token dragon slayer clothes covering him

The dragons asking Gray if he wants to go on a job with them, only for him to (reluctantly) decline bc Lyon is in town and they have plans

then proceeding to sulk the whole job

Natsu was sulking the most, and spilt what happened on Galuna

and suddenly Lyon and Gray had 5 fuming dragons following them

(and if Lyon got graphic threats if he ever fucked up again he never said anything)

Gray is a hit of a wanderer, not in a ‘getting lost/bad at directions’ way, but in a ‘likes to see the scenery/has a feeling and doesnt voice it, just goes with it’ kinda way

Hes done this enough times and is quiet enough about it the others dont realize till hes gone

On one of the jobs he took with Rogue & Sting they half jokingly and half seriously threaten him with a tracker

and Gray says that Juvia probably already has one of him

Rogue and Sting not having a whole lot of context on that asks what he means, and then gets a disturbing account of some of the things shes done

Lets just say the feelings they harbor for her and for the people who let it continue are neither kind nor pretty

they probably ripped the other slayers a new one when they got back

Contrary to popular belief, ice mages can get cold, it takes a hell of a lot more than an average person but it does happen.

Gray probs mentioned this once and now when it rains or snows-

Laxus throws his coat at Gray, Natsu offers to share his scarf and using his fire to warm him up, Rogue drapes his cloak around him

its a very soft image and i needed to share it

Gray starting to push the other slayers away bc hes struggling with his demon instincts and because hes scared hes going to become a monster and hurt them

them not taking any of that shit

reassuring him that he would never become something cruel and evil

hes becoming a demon, hes not a monster, not a murderer

Ppl are frequently gross about Grays stripping habit

its one of the only things that made him genuinely try to stop

People tend to think since hes so obviously confident in his body that its okay to touch him whenever and however they want

the dragon slayers are inclined to disagree

Gajeel breaking some guys arm after he wouldnt keep his hands to himself

Laxus spilling water on someone whose personal dictionary didnt include ‘No’ then repeatedly shocked them until they werent in reach

Wendy having to be (reluctantly, they just dont want her to get in trouble tbh) held back when someone keeps making comments on his body after he told them to fuck off

that did not stop her from giving them the worst insults and threats anybody has ever heard

[if she went back to find them again nobody would know, i mean, and they were perfectly intact! not a scratch on them! and who was gonna believe that a sweet girl like her would harm anybody?:)]

Gray has been threatened with being wrapped in bubble wrap after being injured so many times, which is crazy considering its Natsu of all people who says it

They have gotten really comfortable with eachother

and i mentioned once smth abt the slayers having little private hang outs (jobs or normal get together or ‘meeting’ type things at guilds)

during one of these he casually mentioned what he had to endure to be accepted into Avatar

“yeah, they locked me in a kiln like room for hours every couple days”

jaw drops galore

“i beg your fucking pardon.”

“oh yeah, dw tho, it usually overlapped with the deprivations days so i wasnt fully aware of what was going on, didnt even hurt”

“THE FUCKING WHAT”

I think Natsu is also a total cat magnet, so when Gray is having an off day he’ll go in search for a cat

when they approach him, he picks them up and drops them in Grays lap and waits

it always helps him feel better

Today has not been your day. You could sit and review how you ended up here but that would be a waste of time. You're better off trying to get out of this site.

The ropes are tight around your wrists and ankles, all sharp objects taken away.

You don't even remember what exactly brought you here, just the screaming of Time as you fell unconscious.

You hope he's okay. Your lover has always been reckless with his own life if it meant someone he cared about would be okay.

The barred window is not a viable escape option, but it allows you to watch the sun drift across the sky aimlessly. The sky is vast. And your cell-

Your cell is anything but vast.

The stone floor leeches all of your body heat away from you. And to top off this great experience - they took your boots.

Great.

You'd try to chew through your ropes but your hands are behind your back and bending the way you would have to to get your ankles is hard without being tied up.

You hope the boys kick your captor around extra hard. This is a disgrace of prison treatment.

You can imagine it now, the boys have always been a little protective of you. You aren't a chosen Hero like them.

Even if you can hold your own in a fight the boys still want to keep you safe. Unless someone is hurt super bad you're always the first to receive healing.

Mostly because Time insists, your lover has always been cautious with you.

Hopefully he finds you fast. Because you're half dehydrated and your head is giving a protest headache.

Not to mention being held hostage never leads to a happy outcome for the hostage.

What a mess.

"Holy shi-" someone's voice calls in fear.

"Where is (Y/n)?" Time's voice asks sharply.

You smile softly, he's here. Which means you're safe.

"I don't know who that is!" Calls back the first voice "Please put the sword down-"

"Where. Is. (Y/n)?" Time demands again, angrier.

Huh. You haven't really heard him this mad before.

Is it really because someone took you?

That's both really sweet and kinda weird. You'll have to unpack that later.

"The last cell!"

Footsteps come towards you. Quick and barely heard.

In fact- the footsteps are familiar.

Hands land on the bars of your cell, pulling at them with a hiss.

"(Y/n)!" Time calls when he sees you, something fragile in his voice.

"Time!" You smile, glad to see him and finally feeling fully safe.

"You're hurt." Time says, his eyes roving your form and cataloging each shallow scratch, bruise, and skinned knee.

His eyes seem to darken at what he finds. Obviously displeased with your injuries and imprisonment.

"It's … Not bad."

The try at reassurance doesn't do anything to help Time feel better.

"Let me get this door open and then we'll get you healed and safe."

"Okay."

Even as Time uses all the tricks he can, including his tools, he can't get the door open.

"Hylia-"

"It's okay. I'm sure Four or Wind can get the lock." You say, exhaustion catching up to you as your body realizes how safe you are now.

Time mutters under his breath, trying to slam the door open with his shoulder, Armour denting as he does.

"It's gonna be okay. I'm gonna get you out." Time says again, trying to figure out the best way to approach this.

"I know. "

"Sailor!" Time barks out, "Can you break the lock?"

"I can pick it." Wind says as he comes into view, already procuring a lockpick kit.

"Hurry." Time grits out, eyes holding yours even as the world starts to swim around you.

You swallow back your spit as you try to refocus. The world has spots swimming all over it.

Oh.

You've been running on adrenaline.

Huh.

You watch something launch at Time only to be harshly dispatched. The snarl he gives is harsh.

"No one touches them." Time says sharply.

Wind pops the door's lock right open. He pushes it open before stepping away.

Time rushes towards you as your vision goes dark, eyes closing.

You feel Time pick you up gently in a bridal carry. His voice is heard but not processed.

Your eyes refuse to open. You try again. And again.

And again.

They won't open.

"Link." You manage to whisper.

He says something but it's lost to the darkness.

You fall unconscious to Time's heartbeat pounding against your side. And it's okay.

Because you're safe.

……..

You wake slowly, to someone's hand holding your own. The person has rough calluses across their palm.

"Link- Time?" You ask, hoping it is your Link.

"(Y/n)." Time says with a relieved sigh.

You pry your eyes open, gaze landing on a very haggard Time. He looks exhausted.

But his gaze is soft and loving as he takes in the sight of you and how okay you are. That you're safe and with him.

"You saved me." You say, mind supplying the way he had held you close.

"I'll always save you." Time says evenly, his own voice thick.

"Thank you."

"Of course, (Y/n). I'm just sorry it took so long."

"It's okay. I'm here now."

"I know."

"You were angrier than I'd ever heard- what happened?" You ask, recalling the sheer callousness of the voice he'd used on the guard you couldn't see.

"They kidnapped you." Time says slowly, his gaze narrowing as he becomes sour.

The very thought seems to unlock an unfettered rage you've never witnessed. It's intense- but you also know that he would never turn his rage on you.

Ever.

"Hey, it's okay." You say, knowing he has some sort of undisclosed trauma fueling this particularly issue.

"I know. I'm just glad you're safe. I was so worried."

"I'm glad to be back with you."

"I'm glad too."

"How do you feel?"

"I feel okay. I'm just tired."

"Good."

You smile softly, sitting up from the covers before standing up from the bed.

You walk the few steps it takes to get to Time before hugging him tightly.

“Thank you.”

Time smiles gently, his eyes clear of worry this time. “Any time, (Y/n).”

“I love you.”

“I love you too.”

Time leans in, kissing you gently.

And for him- it’s all okay. You are safe, and here. He didn’t fail.

you’re running from the police. woah most creative introduction 🤯

you don’t look over your shoulder, you can’t risk being caught now

i mean, it was just a harmless prank, its not like. someone got hurt. mhm!

you can hear the police officers’ voices yelling out for you to stop running

you spot an alley way, one that most likely leads to some abandoned shops

you take a few random right turns, then one left to confuse the police following you

then you quickly run into the alleyway, using you hand on a pole to smoothly turn into the alleyway

but you. grab the wrong thing

instead of keeping up your pace by smoothly turning using a pole

you trip face first onto the concrete

and a person falls on top of you

you groan, quickly trying to get up to check if the police were behind you

but you can’t get up. there’s a dude on top of you

you sigh, nudging him to stand up. he stands up, sheepishly offering his hand for you to use

“sorry…” he apologises as you brush your clothes off

“what? why? its fine. and sorry” you say, turning to keep running since you could hear the police again

“ah! wait!” he grabs your wrist just before you can start running off

“what?” you snap, making him let go of you wrist out of fear

“sorry! but you’re bleeding, please let me treat your injuries, cus you tripped over me!!” he bows his head down and says his words quickly

you let him lead you to one of the abandoned shops, he finds an old first aid kit

you sit down somewhere the windows aren't directly in front of you

he sits down in front of you, holding out his hand for you to put your arm on

you hesitantly do, and he gently dabs a cotton bud with some disinfectant on it, on your wound

you wince. he frowns and apologises

this goes on, repeating the cycling of him apologising over and over

once things go silent, you speak up

“order whatever, my treat.”

he declines politely, genuinely not wanting to spend your money

so you insist.

and eventually he orders a small cake and a drink

you two talk, you thank him once more

“it’s really okay! i’m just glad you’re okay.” he smiles

“but can i ask why you were running that day?” he asks hesitatingly

you briefly (and casually) explain that you were running from the police

and he looks shook. jaw-dropped, even.

and then he laughs. an adorable laugh that makes your face heat up

“so i’m an accomplice? cus i hid you” he jokingly asks

“well, that depends. be my permanent accomplice?” you half jokingly reply

and he, fully seriously replies “yeah.”

Hallo Al!

I've been a fan of your works for...a while and am down on my knees for Arlecchino

But I have a slight problem. I've also started falling for Mavuika and the fact that they both are in 5.3 banners is extremely frustrating. So now I have to choose between Arky or Mavuika. I was thinking about going with Arlecchino as Mavuika will probably have a rerun. What do you think I should do?-

ooooh idk if I‘m the right person for that question because I‘m a meta NERD. i also might be biased since I have Arle on C6 (NO I AM NOT A WHALE), but I‘ll try sharing my opinion on the current situation you are in.

starting with Arle, it is her second banner and I don‘t think she will have second rerun before 6.0. she’s even at low investment a very good damage dealer and by low investment i mean LOW investment. literally give her white tassel and 4p gladiator and throw her in a team with xingqiu, bennett and sucrose and that‘s it. but she also scores in high versatility and doesn’t have to rely on vaporize, melt etc at all. you can put her in hundreds of combinations and she‘d still deal massive damage event at c0. she is just that girl. i am just waiting for a bond of life support at this point.

now about mavuika, it is always a bit difficult for me to rate a characters gameplay without having actual in game comparisons, so I‘ll base matters off of her kit. mavuika is a damage dealer than can be used as either an off-field or on-field unit. her elemental skill manifests a ring that follows the active character around and deals nightsoul-aligned pyro damage at a set interval of two seconds. a fairly good pyro application if you are asking me, while xiangling does an equal good job but the focus of her kit is actually her ultimate so let us move over to that.

mavuika‘s burst is the first burst in the entire game that doesnt use energy like every other to charge up, it uses „fighting spirit“. fighting spirit has a limit of 200 and mavuika can trigger it once it reaches 100 fighting spirit. but to get out the highest damage from her, you want to use her burst with full fighting spirits (her damage seems to be diabolically high btw). now the main problem for me arises here: to gather fighting spirit faster, you will need natlan characters. you can also gather them via using normal attacks with party members but the gain is so LOW, without xilonen it‘s not a viable option imo. but again, there is still the option of using her as a sub dps in a large variety of teams and she will probably get more team options in the future so not all hope is lost.

Now this was just my meta view on the situation! mavuika will get a rerun on before august either way so if you skip her for arle and regret it later on- don‘t be sad! at the end of the day they are both wonderfully written characters and you should pull for whatever characters speaks to you more, maybe you are lucky and can manage to even pull them both! i hope i could help anon and tysm for enjoying my works❤️

Imagine Series

Side Notes: 

This imagine series takes place 200 years after the events of Baldur’s Gate 3.  Everything you read in here is a story from my mind outside of the original BG3 character Astarion.

In this imagine series, Astarion is a bit more unemotionally unavailable, and this series will follow the decisions and consequences of that change. This is not canonically accepted and it is just an idea I’ve had in my head! (I do believe Astarion might truly care for the reader after Ascension, but that is open to individual interpretation.)

In this series, TAV is mildly based on my first character I played in BG3; she is a drow and I will make references to her in her background and knowledge as well. I do apologize that it is not 100% your own imagine, but the name for TAV is up to you as well as anything else that I can think of leaving to you, the reader, to decide.

I appreciate everyone who reads the imagines and this series, and I hope you enjoy the story!

TAV POV

I didn’t drop the comfort of the invisibility spell until I was in the comfort and seclusion of the rock cave. After setting the backpack and satchel carefully on the slate gray rock floor, I took a few minutes to cast Leomund’s tiny hut to make the small cave a bit more comfortable in the cooler evening hours of the autumn season. I lit most of the candles in the cave and proceeded to set out all the supplies from my satchel and backpack. As I grabbed the vial of blood from the satchel, I felt a familiar hunger pain start in the pit of my stomach, and I mentally cursed as I had been so occupied all day and had forgotten to feed. Taking a focusing breath, I finished setting up the alchemy kit to test the contents of both flasks I had poured from the chef’s wine bottles. Pouring the liquid from the first flask into the testing tube, the amber light flickering from the burning candles gave away to my keen drow eyes that the liquid has a slight shimmer to it.

Be always weary of the surface dwellers, and even those that reside in the Underdark with us. You never know if you were to run into a fae, but you’ll know by the shimmering dust those mischievous creatures leave behind. Mother’s tough-love lessons found their way into my thoughts once more as I proceeded to test the liquid in various ways. After running a series of tests on the liquid, my eyes widened as I came to a stunning conclusion: the wine was mixed with dust from a fae, and a single drop of blood from Astarion. Further testing revealed that the wine could enable the fae creature to easily charm whoever’s blood was mixed into the wine.

Clever. I thought. Make a wine to charm a usually hard to charm elf. If I had been living in the Underdark, the effort to charm the ascended vampire might have been commended, but I was far more upset about it at the current moment. Luckily for Astarion I was  trained when I was a young drow to make antidotes for such things, so I set to work making a specific antidote to the charming wine. Fortunately for me, I was able to make one charm antidote from a single drop of blood in the half-full vial; however, it did take me a few hours to correctly make it. Once it was complete, I glanced outside the cave entrance to find the moon rising slowly in the dark black sky before it disappeared behind several clouds. I sighed heavily as I begun to test the contents of the second flask. The tiefling had mentioned that it was to be a more potent and longer lasting charming potion, but as I tested and studied the second flask, I made a grave discovery: the second bottle was not a charming potion but a potent poison.

He doesn’t want to use the vampire for nefarious means, he wants to avenge his daughter. The realization hit me like a ton of bricks. I hurried to pack up the antidote for the charming wine and all of my evidence against the traitors living in the castle. Astarion was in terrible danger, and I had to protect him. 

My unfortunate victory on the discovery was undermined, however, by the familiar ache of my fangs wanting to sink themselves into a vein. I groaned as I regretted not sneaking something for me to feed on before coming down to my hole. Ignoring the growing hunger pains, I packed my satchel with all of my evidence against the tiefling and the chef then left the cave. Checking to make sure the coast was clear, I snuck my way back up to the castle’s back door.

“Wiap (fly).” I whispered as I touched my shoulder. I felt light as a feather as my feet hovered off of the ground. I held my breath as I quietly flew up to the balcony outside of Astarion’s bedchambers. Peering through a window offset of the balcony, I noticed the tension in the shoulders of the vampire lord as he listened to the tiefling say something to him.

“Leave me. I shall seek you when I need you.” He angrily said to her as he turned away from her, but he missed the eye roll she gave him before turning on her heels and exiting the room. Those sharp crimson eyes didn’t notice me as he stepped onto the balcony and into the cool autumn night.

Astarion POV

“What have I done? Why did she leave me?” I let out in a somber voice to the night sky. Zeyis had just informed me that it appeared (TAV’s name) had abandoned the castle—abandoned me—and I felt as if my heart weighed heavy like a ton of bricks in my chest.

The one person I thought would never leave me has left. I thought to myself.

“I did not abandon you, my love.” (TAV’s name)’s hushed voice came from the darkness beside me. Startled, I turned to peer into the darkness. There, perched on the balcony railing, was the gorgeous drow I had fallen in love with many centuries ago. Her (TAV’s hair color) had small stray hairs that had fallen out of the braid her hair was done in, and her ruby-colored eyes took in my face with a bittersweet expression on her lips. The jade dress she wore was crinkled with how she was sitting, and particles of a fine white substance settled on the stone flooring beneath her feet, which were still missing their shoes. I opened my mouth to ask her what she was up to, but her slender finger pressed to her lips told me to hush. “Hiedra told you I had left the castle, didn’t she?” (TAV’s name) asked in a hushed tone, and I felt confusion spread itself on my face at the mention of the unfamiliar name.

“Zeyis told me you had left.” I replied in the same hushed tone, and I watched her eyes as she, no doubt, studied every emotion passing through my eyes. There was no use in hiding it—the drow could read me like one of her favorite books. I swear to all the stars and gods above that she was the only person in the entire realm who could see the person underneath it all, even if I tried my damnest to hide it from everyone. But the look in her eyes right now, the emotion they held, took me back to every moment that I saw the same look in her eyes: when I saw Sebastian at Cazador’s palace, the first time she heard about the carving of my scars, and every time I spoke about life as Cazador’s slave.

“Come here to me, Astarion. I have something you need to see. I know who stole your blood, but I need you to actually see what I saw.” She held out a delicately small hand to me and waited patiently for me to step towards her. “Before you ask, I fear you will understand why I can’t just tell you.” I laid my hand inside of hers, and she gave me a sorrowful smile before she spoke in Draconic. “Drex ekess wer ir geouir gipren wer irthir si sweekmon ekess kaoj (show to the one willing to receive the knowledge I seek to share).”

As (TAV’s name) spoke the last word, the world around me went black as a heavy sadness and heartbreak overcame me. Zeyis’ mischievous smirk and endless taunts echoed through my head as a multitude of flashes of myself pushing the spectator out of the way or blatantly ignoring the spectator’s words played in front of my eyes. All of the dirty insults the tiefling had ever said to the spectator continued to echo in the background until I could see myself standing in front of the spectator. I recognized the robes I had been wearing the day before, and my face bore an expression of…anger? I heard my words replay in my head, “I need you to find whomever has disgraced me in such a manner, but I do not want the entire castle to know what has transpired. You must conduct your investigation in secrecy.”

Flashes and blurs of a library filled with books and a golden dragonborn giving the spectator three specific books passed in a whirlwind before I felt the spectator’s frustration build within me as the spectator struggled to successfully complete a ritual. In a blur, I felt the familiar shifting of warm sand under the weight of the spectator’s barefeet. Brief moments of sitting in front of a large mirror with a drow staring back at me flashed before me as (TAV’s name)’s voice echoed in my mind, “Now, you need to figure out what she actually is, and how she is managing to control our little star. If you figure that out, we may be able to get him back.”

Next, I watched as a beautiful woman with pointy ears spoke with our chef, Ahriman, while standing in the rain outside of the castle before the woman shapeshifted into Zeyis. I heard Ahriman call her name, Hiedra. The visions of that night swirled and melted into Zeyis walking into a room with the chef before they discussed the creation of a potion using a vial of my blood. I felt my hands dig in a chest with a false bottom as the spectator pulled out a half-full vial of a dark crimson liquid. My nostrils were filled with the scent of a finely aged brandy, rosemary, and bergamot--a scent the spectator knew belonged to me. An empty bottle was filled with a similar liquid before the scenery blended to the spectator hastily packing a bag of some kind, but Ahriman’s voice spoke in the background, “Astarion, you will soon pay for taking my daughter from me, and you will know what it is to have lost everything.” After watching the chef leave, the spectator read the words of a letter written to the chef about his missing daughter, and my name had been mentioned in it. 

Soon the spectator was testing flasks of wine and learned the tiefling was a fae in disguise. I watched as the spectator took her time creating an antidote to the charming wine the chef created, and the shock as the spectator realized the second flask wasn’t a charming potion, but a poison. I felt the familiar sting of hunger overcome my senses before I found the spectator standing in front of me, hoping I would take her hand. With a blink of my eyes, I stared at the woman in front of me who was now avoiding direct eye contact. Her throat moved as she forcefully swallowed as I made the connections to what I had just seen--she was the spectator, and she had shown me what she had seen and felt for the last hundred years along with what she learned in the last couple of days.

For the first time in a century, I could truly see her again, and I felt horrible for all of the shit I had put her through.
