Norman Devane and Dr. Stark, Red and Ressler. That's what I'm expecting in 10x12. I also think a possible parallel to Kirk could happen. The B- blood opposite the B+

Okay ive been following aoc (not the politician) and i love your ocs esp karma but im missing context since i started following u presumably well after u started working on it. Can u give me a summary and rundown of aoc?
It’s cool, everyone started following me well after I started working on it because it’s been in the works since uhhh. I was in middle school. So like 8 years.
Array of Cicadas will (hopefully) be a comic in three installments. Array of Cicadas, Array of Cicadas: Cryptadia, and Array of Cicadas: [REDACTED]. The length of each part is the main thing I’m working on currently.
Array of Cicadas follows Akira Akamatsu two years after the death of her older sister. She moved from the magical realm of Genesis to Earth to settle for a more mundane life. Eventually her father shows up and ruins that whole plan by sending her to the realm of Hveske to protect her from a coming war. She meets Devan Ranim and his friends, they all set out on a journey to find the Sword of Gjalleon to fight the empire that’s threatening the universe. Karma Gjalleon is the main antagonist in AoC! She plots against the Hveske Quartet, but she’s NOT a part of aforementioned empire. That would be the Izebellian empire… I promise to update my World Anvil eventually…….
Array of Cicadas: Cryptadia takes place in parallel to AoC, but on Earth. It follows a group of three teens and their buddy mothman as they investigate the increasingly stranger paranormal phenomenon in their town… the paranormal phenomenon that isn’t them anyways. This part gives more insight on the Izebellian Empire and the world building of Genesis. The main antagonist of this one is Kirke.
Array of Cicadas: [REDACTED] is well. Blocked out that way for a reason. It follows Aranea Weltgeist after her escape from the Izebellian Empire. In its second half it ties together the previous parts as the casts combine to take down the big bad behind it all: Penumbra. And that’s all I can say about it.
I have over 300 characters in AoC and it’s incredibly convoluted. Unchained Phenomenon and Shifting Stars and Moving Mountains both exist in the AoC universe but have no connection (or very little) to the plot of AoC.
I’m very bad at summaries that aren’t literally just a synopsis. PLUS it’s hard to get into some of the story without is being pretty spoilery and I like to keep a lot of it close to my chest. BUT I do love answering questions about it! So always feel free to ask me more about it :)))
#PLEASE bug me to work on my world anvil more…#I need reminders…..#asks#ophidian lore#array of cicadas

Dale Wasserman - Playwright
The playwright Dale Wasserman adapted Ken Kesey's novel One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest as a Broadway play in 1963, and wrote the libretto for one of New York's biggest musical hits, Man of La Mancha, which opened in 1965 and ran for 2,329 performances. The rights to One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Kesey's 1962 novel about rebellion in a mental hospital, were acquired by Kirk Douglas soon after publication as a vehicle in which he planned to return to the Broadway stage.
When Douglas discovered that Wasserman had also tried to buy the rights, he hired him to write the play, agreeing that Wasserman should retain all rights to his dramatisation while Douglas retained screen rights to the novel. After opening to positive reviews in Boston, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest went to Broadway, where it received reviews from New York's most influential critics that Douglas described as "murderous". Howard Taubman of the New York Times wrote of the play's "appalling taste", while Walter Kerr of the Herald Tribune declared that the "tastelessness of this character (R.P. McMurphy) should be talked about".
The play struggled through a five-month run. "It was terrible," Wasserman later said. "Kirk was so frightened to return to the live stage he took refuge in being lovable every moment of the play. But his character was half Christ and half con-man and he was not meant to be lovable." Though One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest flopped first time on stage, an off-Broadway revival starring William Devane in 1971 ran for over 2,000 performances and prompted the Oscar-winning film version in 1975 (which did not involve Wasserman). The play was subsequently revived on Broadway in 2001 starring Gary Sinise, who won a Tony for the best revival of a play, and in 2004 it was successfully staged in London, starring Christian Slater and Frances Barber.
Wasserman settled with his second wife, Martha ("who remains wonderfully serene in the face of my troublesome ways") in Arizona and was still writing up until his death. Recently he told his wife that he would require obituaries to say only that he invented the phrase, "the impossible dream" – and lived it.

S3 was different. 3x19 was Cape May. 3x20 was The Artax Network. 3x21 was Scottie Hargrave. 3x22 & 3x23 was Alexander Kirk. At the end of, they found out Liz was alive. They already confirmed Liz’s death. You wanna know what I find interesting about the comment made in the promo? Here...
“Whether she died in vain is up to you.”
Back to Norman Devane.
“I'm glad you think so, Donald. Because I honestly don't want her to worry. Whether she does or not is entirely up to you.”

I recently started watching Newhart with my sister. I'd seen a few episodes out of order on TV, but now we're sitting down and going through the box set as the Lord intended. I'm sad Kirk is only in two seasons, because him and all his bullshit are one of my favorite things about the show.

MOTA AND/OR AOC FOR THE FANDOM ASK
DOING BOTH
mota:
blorbo: def aetius purely bc i think of him the most because he’s the protagonist so like. of COURSE. but also damrina just because i love her so much. she would be the protagonist if i could find a way to make that work, unfortunately that just isn’t how the story is structured.
scrunkly: aaa difficult because i don’t wanna just say aetius again but the problem is… he is literally the “baby” of mota. every single important character is older than him. so therefore i will go with the most shaped of mota characters and you know i’m a sucker for dragons. so i’ll say drakabe borealis. love the giant evil dragon >:3c
scrimblo bimblo: TECHNICALLY all of them are underrated because nobody really knows they exist except for like five people, but i’ll say eudoxia because nobody but ME knows about her mwah ha ha. she’s super important to the story but i don’t talk about her much on account of her being dead. ALSO same with matrodora for all the exact same reasons as eudoxia.
glup shitto: the priestess of the well of mortality. homegirl shows up ONCE and has a really bad day and leaves an incredibly important impression on aetius then we never see her again. i haven’t even named her yet.
poor little meow meow: chaos. next.
horse plinko: alphaios, easily.
eeby deeby: taphion. these are all easy.
aoc:
blorbo: KARMA AND AKIRA. easily.
scrunkly: devan :) he is my VERY FAVORITE, but most importantly he is baby and shaped like such a friend
scrimblo bimblo: azar and ophelia.. i don’t talk about them enough :(
glup shitto: onyx gjalleon. i am no immune to bad dad jokes.
poor little meow meow: izebel. my poor little emo imperialist tween.
horse plinko: kirke because being mean to her is funny.
eeby deeby: hilgamesh gjalleon. hate this cunt.

ugh FINE i guess i can give you the backstories of the dragon gang 🙄
lonan is the oldest, being a dragon sage. he changes his name every few 1000 years to keep up with the times. his current name is dwarvish. lonan got banished a few thousand years ago by the dragons of genesis for training one of kirke’s children. (since kirke is responsible for the great dragon hut happening in the first place and dragons fucking HATE her)
he was a vagabond masquerading as a human for about a thousand years before he started serving the emissary as a personal guard. he holds the same position in the modern day as the current emissary, lumaria’s guard.
python’s backstory is..... something i can’t really talk about a whole lot. basically they had a pretty average life. with a pretty common name. average magical abilities. but they’re a HUGE ASSHOLE. i like to draw them hanging out with my other dragons for fun but in canon they’d probably never really interact since they’re on opposing sides of a war.
jinlong was taken by hunters and sold to a mage in the middle of the great dragon hunt, but managed to escape said hunters while traveling through the mediterranean. both his parents were killed by said hunters so he decided to hide in human form to avoid getting captured again.
he was adopted by a human family who had no idea he was a dragon until his new human siblings found out. they spent several years hiding it from his parents in fear they’d reject him. (nooo kel, don’t make another trans allegory) but his parents were good folk and accepted him when he came out told them.
his youngest sister died shortly after genesis was formed at the age of 200 (did i mention his family were all DAMN good magicians, wizards live a long time). after being in human form for 200 FUCKING YEARS, lonan was like “holy shit kid do you know how much magic it takes to do that for that fucking long? a stiff wind could kill you right now. go to sleep for like a CENTURY to recover that magical energy” and jinlong had apparently exhausted SO MUCH magical energy that he didn’t recover it all for 2000 years. when dragons sleep to recover their magic they don’t age or change, so despite TECHNICALLY being 2500 years old, jinlong still isn’t an adult. (but he sure likes to ACT like he is, despite being like 13 by dragon standards)
ryuji my beloved. little bit of lore first: one of the most powerful types of human magicians are elemental mages, they’re so powerful, in fact, that dragons don’t trust other humans to deal with them. so they take in the human kids and teach them how to use their elemental magic. azar was one of such mages. ryuji and azar were both trained alongside each other by ryuji’s parents and quickly became besties. unfortunately azar beefed it fighting a big ass monster and ryuji decided to take it upon himself to look after the descendants of azar’s family, which he grew to hate.
about 200 years later azar’s last living blood relative never married and her only child was adopted so he decided that meant he was free of his duty as their guardian. problem, adopted kid was a kitsune. (this is rin) the kid would bother him all the time and he could never get away from her. eventually he grew to like the kid and as she grew older they became friends. rin ended up dating some human guy even though ryuji insisted that was stupid because she’s be upset when she outlived him. rin, being a mischievous teenage fox spirit, did not give a shit what the edgy teenage dragon had to say to her. years went by, rin married her STUPID human boyfriend and had STUPID human kids with him “you will outlive them rin!! you will literally outlive your children! you will live for thousands of years! what is wrong with you?!?” rin, mischievous adult fox spirit, still didn’t care.
rin resigned herself to her immortality and wanted to be like what ryuji used to be, a guardian of her family and all their descendants. ryuji would still come around to hang out with his bestie from time to time, he’d play with her daughter, akane, then when she grew up he helped take care of HER daughter, izumi, and izumi’s daughter takara. but he STOPPED when izumi’s second kid started making it their point to pick on him every single time he came over to visit. after that rin could visit HIM and she could keep the little brat AWAY from him.
and TO THIS DAY akira makes it a point to be the BANE OF HIS EXISTENCE!!! because she inherited [REDACTED] and befriended devan who is literally a [REDACTED]
#rin is an honorary member of the dragon gang for being funny and pretty#infodumping#array of cicadas#colored text

Because people keep claiming Red never leaves bodies behind. Three bodies in The Samaritan Killer. Wujing's tech. The Stewmaker. Floriana Campo. He sent Mako Tanida's head to Ressler. Anslo Garrick. Fake Berlin. T. Earl King VI. Sir Crispin Crandall. The Director. Scottie Hargrave's tactical team, Bradley, and more of Scottie's men at the airport. The body he cuffed to Miles McGrath. The Debt Collector. Smokey Putnam. Dennison. Colin Kilgannon. Sutton Ross. He was in a shootout to save Liz in Braxton: Conclusion. He was in a shootout to save Tony when he stole from Big Willie. He was in a shootout to save Koehler from The Corsican. He was in a shootout to save the task force in the S6 finale. He was in a shootout to save Cooper in his Kuwait episode. He killed Devane right in front of Ressler. He left bodies behind in Cornelius Ruck's episode. I don't recall anyone cleaning up Berdy's body. Or Gordon Kemp's. Or Roy Cain's.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/f046168c81558b70d348219d839ba5c3/e0e710973fe845d0-f5/s540x810/5bce3663a5d49ca0f04928716ee5b31df0aa26c8.jpg)
Red could’ve left everything there (including the bodies), since Liz already witnessed him kill the woman. Because she was there, Liz can confirm that he also killed Heidegger. Instead, he took both bodies. He had them recover his gun even though he wore gloves and destroy the woman’s DNA even though Liz just watched her die. Let’s say the woman from Paris was the real Katarina Rostova. It would’ve done nothing to leave her body there with all the evidence to prove as much. Neville and the rest of the Townsend Directive players would simply learn that she faked her death - only to get killed later. There’s nothing to lose under these circumstances. Actual confirmation of Katarina’s death and her body literally handed right to them. What could protect Masha better than that? Nothing. It was the entire reason Dom and Ilya set her up to begin with. Dom and Ilya spoke of this. The woman and Liz spoke of this. It would’ve brought that danger for Liz to a complete end. Literally.
Young Ilya: Are you worried they’ll find you? Young Dom: I’m worried they’ll find Masha, try and leverage her. Young Ilya: Look, Dom, I - I can’t help you. Young Dom: You made a promise! To Katarina. You told her you would look after Masha if anything happened to her.
Woman: He lied to you to hide the truth, that he tried to assassinate his own daughter. Liz: Why would he do that? Woman: Because if the people hunting me saw me die, then the person he really cared about would be safe. Liz: You’re his child. Who could he care about more than you? -- No. That can’t be true. Woman: I’m a mortal threat to you, a mother whose very existence puts her daughter’s life at risk. Liz: My grandfather tried to kill you to protect me. Woman: And in the process, he killed the man I loved.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/69de4f1d764585673031926bc81fb3dd/e0e710973fe845d0-a1/s540x810/08b108075be9a9599a5f487e3107318da0240433.jpg)
People would rather believe Red just killed Liz’s mother right in front of her, and actually believe she’ll somehow move past this and forgive Red despite it because they don’t want to accept what is. Red took the woman’s body because he wants the world to continue believing she was Katarina Rostova and for the Townsend Directive to continue believing she's dead. So long as they believe that, they won't go looking for Katarina or Masha. He's able to protect both mother and daughter that way. He had to take William Heidegger's body to avoid a future war againt Neville Townsend. The only thing William's secretary knows, is that Katarina Rosova called and William disappeared soon after. I doubt she'll talk, and I doubt Neville would believe her even if she did. Leaving her body and her DNA would only confirm the woman from Paris was an imposter, and in doing so, leave Katarina and Masha to the danger of the Townsend Directive. Red would never kill someone that close to Liz without compromise. He was willing to spare Kirk on the rooftop, Tom when he married her, and even spared Kate in the end. He spared all three despite the danger he felt they presented to Liz. His actions always lean in her favor because his love for his daughter makes him powerless. The woman being an imposter is more believable than Red killing Liz’s own mother right in front of her, and for no other reason than protecting himself. Because Liz comes first. Period. Dom would never kill his daughter. Ilya would never kill the childhood friend he pledged his life to. Katarina Rostova herself would die before placing her daughter's life in danger. She walked into Cape May waters for that very reason, would’ve changed her identity for that very reason. She sought help from Ilya, who suggested she become Reddington, and she did. In doing so, Red was able to build a criminal empire with the sole purpose of keeping himself free and his daughter safe. That's why Dom took a bullet and Ilya hung himself from a ceiling fan. "She loves you. She always has. Nothing could ever change that." Not even a gender transition. Red always loved and needed his father, his father simply didn't accept who he became.
Perhaps Liz will. Because “Love wins.”

“But I’m not on Reddington’s side. Or her side. I’m on the side of the truth.”
Insert Donald Ressler for the whole truth because he’s going to learn everything Tom knew right before he died. That’s why Ressler has been playing opposite.
“But the truth is, when I was in Stark's lab, I saw Reddington's medical file.”
Consider “fate” to be a series of events beyond a person's control, and these events happening for a reason. Consider these events needing to happen in order as they do for things to happen as they should. Norman Devane's entire episode was written around fate.
Fate #1: Red getting kidnapped by the woman in Paris.
Ilya: I’m not like you. I may have been once, but not anymore. What happened in Havana and Paris, I - I just can’t shake it. Red: Neither can I. But I can accept it. Things happen. Ilya: You, a fatalist? Save that for someone who doesn’t know you so well. You leave nothing to fate. Red: I try to leave nothing to fate, but I’m perfectly comfortable with chaos. That’s why I trust that whatever happens is probably meant to be.
Fate #2: Ilya going to his goddaughter's wedding.
Red: Drunken revelers, interminable toasting, cheesy cover bands - I can’t think of a better place for a covert meeting. Ilya: I doubt it will work, but I will try. Red: That’s all anyone can do. The rest, we leave to fate. - Ilya: You were right. About the wedding feeling safe. Meeting is confirmed. Red: Then you need to change. We’ll have you home in a jiffy. Things are looking up! Between you and Devane, we now have two lines in the water. A fish will eventually bite. Ilya: Because everything happens for a reason. Even if that reason is as random as my goddaughter’s wedding.
Fate #3: Red's "treatment" with Dr. Stark.
Red: Stark’s treatment was ineffective. Ilya: I’m sorry. Red: Sometimes, things happen for a reason. And sometimes I just don’t know what that reason is.
One must truly see fate play out, and they gave us a small taste of that with the Berdy intel. Fate wanted Aram to crash this specific wedding with Elodie and get that intel in order to save Ilya's life. One can argue that Ilya's life would've never needed saving had he gotten the intel to begin with, but had he gotten it when he was supposed to, you can remove Orion's episode and everything that followed. The timing is just as important as the order. This was fated to happen because one event is leading into another. Fate #1 because this woman from Paris was meant to be Agnes' nanny. Red getting kidnapped leading to Dom getting shot leading to the woman entering Liz's life to be Agnes' nanny.
Now it's time to push it backward in order to move it forward, which is what I've been saying regarding Liz's "bigger life." Bring back that Berdy intel so we can reverse it. Fate #2 now going back to Fate #1 in order to reach Fate #3. The Berdy intel later rather than sooner so the Stark storyline can play out as fate wants it to. It's a series of events that must happen a certain way or it won't work. Had Ilya gotten that intel when he was supposed to, Liz would've never found out about Maddy Tolliver, she would've never found out Red isn't Ilya, and the woman from Paris would've never led her to believe she's her mother. This would’ve removed Fate #3.
Insert: An out-of-the-blue collapse. Reason for reason.
Doctor: Maybe you can get him to listen to reason. Dembe: It's unlikely, but I'll try. Doctor: Try hard. His life depends on it.
"Trying"
Red: I try to leave nothing to fate, but I’m perfectly comfortable with chaos. That’s why I trust that whatever happens is probably meant to be.
Ilya: I doubt it will work, but I will try. Red: That’s all anyone can do.
No need for Dembe to try, fate is finishing up its series of events. This incident acts as the bridge, leading Red to learn the reason for Fate #3. Consider the episodes in their original order before the writers chose to reverse them with the season cut short.
Roy Cain, 7x17.
My guess, Red's collapse in 7x16 was fated to happen because it scared Red into choosing his successor in 7x17. In doing so, led to Liz informing Ressler about Red choosing his successor and question his timing. Ressler now believes it has to do with Red having medical issues.
Dembe and his imam are saved by Red and his team, so Liz is now faced with the idea of choosing between Red and the woman. Imagine the burden.
Brothers, 7x18.
Take that burden to their Keenler scene. “Have you looked at my life? I'm a widow and a single mom. A marionette with a high-functioning sociopath pulling my strings. My grandfather tried to murder my mother, and my mother is a legendarily lethal Russian spy who moved in next door without even telling me who she was. I mean it. Have you looked at my life? I mean, really taken a close look. Because it's like I'm in the middle of a monsoon that's constantly threatening to drown me in bad news. And somewhere in the middle of that FEMA disaster of a life... somewhere is just a tiny island of calm. And if that weren't there, I would be swept out to sea.”
Our finale with 7x19.
“Looking”
Liz and Ressler in Roy Cain.
Ressler: But the truth is, when I was in Stark's lab, I saw Reddington's medical file. Liz: What did it say? Ressler: I didn't read it. But it was the size of a telephone book, and clearly he didn't want me to see what was in it.
Liz and Ressler in Brothers.
Liz: Have you looked at my life?
Liz: I mean it. Have you looked at my life? I mean, really taken a close look.
Ressler back in Norman Devane.
Red: About my chart. Ressler: I didn’t look at it. Red: Why not? Ressler: Because sometimes you’re supposed to look the other way. It was a pretty thick file, though.
“Not on my watch.”
Imagine fate wanting one man to save an entire family. If Ressler goes after Red's medical file, it will cause Red to go after Ressler. After all, he’ll learn Red’s truth just by looking at it, and Red can’t have that. Liz’s life and soul. The burden of choice is now shared. Based on intel from Red’s medical file, saving Liz's life and soul in helping her make that decision by telling her the woman from Paris isn't her mother. In helping her make this choice, saving Red’s life because Liz will kill the woman from Paris. After all, she went after everyone Liz cares about, which she made another mention to in Roy Cain’s episode. This can be done without revealing Rederina.
Finalize it with a Red-Ressler conversation because Ressler shoved his nose in Red’s medical file. I don't believe Stark has anything to do with Red. I believe he’s trying to donate to someone, and that's why his file is as thick as a phone book. Because it contains multiple medical files. Insert Dom being a Rostov, then take that back to Constantin Rostov and his blood disorder. Blood panels. I believe Red was trying to donate to Agnes after Kirk took stem cells from her, and Ressler will be the one to donate instead. Ressler then saving Agnes' life by being the one to donate. In order for Ressler to find out he’s the father, he must first have that converation with Red over his medical file, which won’t happen unless he takes a close look at Liz’s life.
Basically, Ressler and Red would never have a conversation about his medical file had fate not let Red get kidnapped in Paris and pushed them through this series of events. Ressler would never learn Red is Liz’s mother, and Red would never learn Ressler is Agnes’ father.
“Destiny. Fate. Me. You.” - Rederina
Liz: My question is, what the hell happened? Red: You did. You and Agent Ressler. “Destiny. Fate. Me. You.” - Keenler & Keenler baby
I wanted to put this in a separate post because it got to be so long. There may be missing bits to this, but I’ll note them with a link back in my rewatch post. But as I continue to state and stand by my statement, I don’t know why the fuck people are assuming Red is sick. No symptoms until he’s literally coughing and collapsing. Has he so much as coughed any time before then? NO. Did he think to consider his successor after finding out Stark’s treatment didn’t work? NO. Did he seek assistance from Dr. Stark after his collapse? NO. Because they’re not related. Fate #3 going back to Fate #2. Agnes isn’t Ressler’s gooddaughter, she’s his daughter.

And blackmail is such a nasty business, particularly among friends, don’t you think?” And my Minister D prediction still stands. “My boss ordered me not to kill you, but he didn’t say anything about messing up that pretty face.” Tom’s debt from 4x8. “You owe me.” Tom saving Ressler’s pretty face. “Yeah, I know I'm pretty, but you're not my type.” Because Red’s medical file is blackmail material... against Katarina Rostova. “You blackmailed the wrong person.” Taken back to Cape May. “And to harm him would be to harm her. A mortal sin.” Ressler is the father. “Her father.”
My question is, what the hell happened? You did. You and Agent Ressler. ... and then her memory was wiped.
