Keirr character discussion / breakdown
• The egotistical prick • The Aira hater • The deciever
Tumblr media
- Quick author note: I’m going to be doing something slightly different, where I basically read the scenes that involved Keirr and leave a tag afterwords of pages I am going over. This will at least give you opportunity to read along with me and understand my breakdowns a little better.
- Another note: I am always using the Tumblr mobile app, so I apologize if my documents look rather funky on the computer version. I am trying to spruce them up and make them look at least somewhat good lol.
- Final note: I will be going over “Asmundr” Keirr, only a little bit though, mainly for his background. Other than that, I am focusing on “Home” Keirr. Now let’s get into it!
-
What I will be going over:
- What we know of Keirr’s history
- How he suddenly went from sweet and family oriented. Then turned into an egotistical jerk off, who stopped prioritizing family.
- A little on his personality
-
- Early History
In Keirrs early history, we know that he was born around the middle of Kiques 1st comic, Asmundr. And let me tell you, this fool has changed designs like.. 5 different times.
Ahem, anyway. Keirr is shown as the more “mature” one, compared to Rhov. In Asmundr, it is shown that he is a “decent” hunter, while him and his brother work on deer hides. He is even more reasonably suspicious than Rhov, when Jahla enters the scene and tackles Rhovanion.
When the war between Ranulfr and the Asmundr pack hit, Keirr was pretty useful and followed instructions well. Near the end of the war, you could tell he was tired of having to kill the Shield wolves, but he continued to kill. And really, that about sums up Keirrs story in Asmundr. Obviously, the first comic wasn’t about the offspring, like Home is. So I can’t really follow up with much, in “Asmundr” Keirr.
-
- Read along breakdown:
Now, we’ll be going over “Home” Keirr.
Two years had passed since “Asmundr”, so I feel the rest of this information does not qualify for Keirrs early history section.
Too begin.. Keirr and his family are dropped off on Aedra, they are not given a time limit of how long this lasts. All they know is, father will return at some point. Until then, they all make do and continue with their lives.
Keirr is still shown to be the more mature / family oriented guy. As everyone else decides to explore Aedra and see what they can find, Keirr decides to stay back with the Asmundr pack. Keirr at least retains his personality, for now, from Asmundr.( Page 8. Can also be seen on page 104. )
Then came the time when Zilas died, Keirr was the one to discover him first. Of course, he took it pretty hard considering that he grew up with Zilas and saw him as a brother. Of course, a lot of those crucial bonding moments us readers need are shown “off-screen”. It was never truly shown how close Keirr and Zilas were. ( Page 127 - 128 )
Fast forward to the time he discovered Aira, this is when things get juicy. For a while, Keirr was not Kiques priority and he did not make a real, solid appearance for a few chapters, up until page 138. This is when Kique decides Keirr needs a fucked up “Home” style arc next.
Keirr is seen carrying a torch, probably out mourning his loss I’d imagine.. Otherwise, idk why tf he is out late, or seen / helping anyone bury Zilas? This was the time when night beasts were a thing. Anyway! He is caught off guard by a voice, who comes from Aira, hiding. Keirr still retains his suspicious behavior, like in Asmundr and asks her to come closer, for the fire he is carrying. To his surprise, he is greeted with a badly wounded dog. Reasonably, he asks Aira if she was attacked by a feline, probably trying to see if she is the reason Zilas is dead. Quickly, his suspicions are cleared and he offers her help. ( Page 138 - 139 )
Suddenly, in video game reloading fashion, Keirr spawns at camp with Rhov and Jahla. Where the hell did Aira go? Anyway, I like that Keirr called out Rhov and Jahla for trying to throw blame around on anyone they could, for Zilas’s death. And then looking down at them, like a disappointed father. Thankfully, he is still retaining his personality at this point. I have to say though, it is interesting that Keirr decides to care for Aira alone and not bring her back to the Asmundr pack. Knowing his suspicious behavior, this might have been the better option for him. ( Page 140 - 141 )
We are then shown Keirr and Aira at her den. Keirr is definitely shown as more able bodied than Aira and attempts to help her up, when he realizes she can’t make it up on her own. His so far suspicious behavior remains intact, when he realizes her den has an odd amount of space for one dog; especially one of her size. He even tries to wiggle in some questions for her, but to no avail. He leaves Aira with supplies and is even kind enough to give her a knife and hide a hare nearby for her. ( Page 151 - 152 )
A few hours had passed, seemingly it looks like Aira tracked Keirr down and sat down with him. Keirr then opens up a little bit about Zilas and his family. The odd part for me is that, he is shown to be a family oriented guy, you’d imagine he’d want to mourn with his family? But I suppose he would rather want to mourn alone, for some odd reason. Kique tends to do a lot of important things “off-screen.” Anyway, instead of going back to his family, he chooses to mourn with a stranger. Which to me is slightly out of character of him. ( Page 160 - 161 )
A day or so later passes and suddenly Keirr is an expert in physical therapy. This scene from him looks promising, until he joins up with Whispervale. More on that later. Keirr helps Aira jump over a log and help regain her mobility. Then he decides it’s time to go back to his family, in the middle of such a primary moment? Aira then runs up and kisses him to stop him from leaving. Then he subtly gloats at her about how he is her “only chance of survival”, I mean what a nice thing to say lol. I feel this is when Keirr starts acting out of character, but it isn’t super noticeable yet. I’m also not quite sure why he said she couldn’t join the pack, Kainan would have saw no problem with it? Then he contradicts himself by saying he’ll continue taking care of her, but can’t leave his family to care for a stranger, all in the same breath? What? lol. ( Page 197 - 199 )
Keirr then finally discovers that the Asmundr pack is no longer there. Also, it’s kind of funny how it foreshadows the reindeer being dead in the fourth panel, but magically they’re still alive when Ronja gives them to the Deer humpers. Not only this, but it’s way too soon for the Reindeer to leave behind bones? Or why didn’t Keirr notice them while he visited the territory? Another plot hole lol. ( Page 226 )
Then Keirr suddenly decides he wants to go back to Aira, even after being a subtle dick to her. He notices that she is no longer in the vicinity and begins looking for her instead. Contradicting himself again, because he just told her he wouldn’t leave his family for a stranger. So why does he choose to go after Aira instead and not start looking for his family? Hm. ( Page 235 )
At least Keirr was nice enough to go searching for her.. But he comes across her re-possessing herself with the monster she was previously. Aira explains that she can’t survive without it. Keirr added salt to that wound by saying previously, he was her only chance of survival and then dipping out on her. Reasonably though, Keirr stops her from completing the ritual. Once he is able to pull her away from the spirit, he comforts her and makes sure to tell her that he is here for her. Boy what a damn 180 that happens in the future! Keirr then discovers Aira’s background and what she use to be, they share a tender moment together and then apologize for their previous actions. ( Probably the one and only time you’ll see that in this comic. ) Then Keirr suddenly decides she can join the pack, because it was always an option, Keirr was just being a dick. And with that, Keirr invites her to look for his family with him. Aira is able to offer some advice, as she has previously traveled the entire island in her beast form. ( Page 267 - 276 )
Here comes the total 180 of Keirr, when Aira shows him the way to Whispervale. Suddenly Keirr spouts out “We should ask them to join their pack!” Wtf?? Even Aira asks him why, just ask them if they have seen his family. Then for some reason Keirr wants to use Whispervale for their resources before continuing, but in the same breath wants to join their Tribe? None of what he just said to Aira made sense to me. Obviously Aira is uncomfortable, but Keirr doesn’t give a shit lol. Once Whispervale approaches them, Keirr asks if they can join their Tribe. Keirr then attempts to gain sympathy from Fraujar, but rightfully he gets none. Fraujar makes a statement to Keirr that the health of his tribe is everything to him, and he needs more from them than what they have shown Fraujar. Fraujar then assigns Felidae to get them acquainted with everything. Not sure what Keirr or Kique are thinking in this moment, as this is a total 180 from Keirr and his plans.( Page 311 - 314 )
Time passes for the pair and of course Aira asks Keirr when they are leaving Whispervale. Seems she’s the one that adopted Keirrs old personality, cause she’s the only one eager enough to go find them. Of course Keirr shuts her down with a bullshit excuse. “We need stability!” Not sure why he suddenly is against his own idea of searching for his family and staying with Whispervale. I mean what else did he expect trying to find them? Aira is obviously uncomfortable joining a Tribe she did not want, but again, Keirr doesn’t care. Finally their right of passage comes and Aira is the first one to participate. Aira is once again expressing she is UNCOMFORTABLE, before her trial begins. Keirr tries to reassure her, but beyond face value, Aira is stuck there because of his dumbass, unwilling at that. Of course Aira doesn’t do very well in her trial, Fraujar then says her character can be improved, but her structure is… Not up to parr. Then Keirr is all like “Oh she just needs to be trained!” Homie, did you not listen to anything Aira has said previously? She was BORN like this, she can’t just magically work out and get better. That’s not how disabilities work, idiot. ( And would you imagine it, Kique is actually an ableist and no wonder Airas character was handled like this! Go on! Read Stazz / Zirvasitys documents on her relationship with the kind hearted author! ) ( Page 326 - 331 )
Tch, anyway. Aira is obviously disappointed, she told Keirr and even expressed to Keirr that she did not want to join this tribe. I would imagine being in her shoes, she feels unheard, but tried to please Keirr anyway, only to fail. Then of course came Keirrs time and suddenly we’re shown a flashback between Keirr and his father. Of course, this was never shown in Asmundr, or Home. Suddenly Kainan and Keirr found time to actually give a shit about reindeer behavior. ANYWAY. Keirr is oddly confident in larping, how did the confident, son of Kainan, shield wolf killer end up in this situation lmfao. Of course, to nobodies surprise, Keirr nails the trial, he still loses the fight against Raun and everyone is buddy - buddy. ( Page 332 - 336 )
The next scene that follows, we have Raun shouting out at Keirr, saying he looks good and can pass as a guard if he keeps it up. Tbh, this seemed friendly at first, but watching the way Raun interacts with Keirr in the future, makes me feel like Raun is the neighborhood creep lol. Aira then comes out of the hut, her scars completely healed. Keirr is at least somewhat more supportive in this page, but future Keirr is nothing but a prick. ( Page 345 )
Fast forward to chapter 10, we finally see Keirr again, because all of chapter nine was about dumbass Rogio. Ahem. We actually see some progress from Keirr, at least keeping his word to himself. But the odd part is, he brought Raun and not Aira? First of all, Keirr hardly knows Raun and Aira understood the whole situation a lot better than Raun. Soooo.. Odd choice in bringing Raun. ( Would like to add really quick, I know Fraujar assigned Raun to follow Keirr, but why tf would Aira not come either? ) Raun is more dead weight anyway, because he’s being a giant wussy about being in that area anyway. Not even allowing Keirr to scope out the area, completely. And Keirr is just laughing about it, like cmon man, I would imagine you would want to potentially comb through the area, not cater to some giant wuss like Raun. ( Page 458 - 460 )
And to nobodies surprise, the next scene that involves Keirr is a flirty Raun. He tries to encourage Keirr to let loose and have some fun, which would have been cool if it had stayed as a friendship kind of thing. But yet again, Kique force feeds us another MxM ship. At one point, if Kique had kept up with the Rhovanion x Rogio arc that he was hinting at, at some point. All of his main male characters would have been gay. Which is obviously unrealistic, not impossible! But unrealistic. Honestly, I take Raun as a fucking creep. You hardly know anything about Keirr and yet, here he is trying to make flirty gestures and tell Keirr he’s avoiding him. As a woman, to my fellow women, any time a man points out that you’ve been avoiding him, a very creepy vibe showers over us. ( Page 478 - 479 )
Then to nobodies surprise again, Keirr is suddenly able to pin Raun, even though Raun was seen to be a lot stronger than Keirr in his trial. Aaaaand of course, Keirr reciprocates Rauns flirting by responding to him in a sexual manner, “I’m the lead sarv now.” However, in the future Keirr becomes more of an asshole at Raun from this point. ( Page 480 )
Ah now this scene just pisses me off and makes me want to throw Keirr off a cliff. Aira is seen laying around, presumably missing Keirr, I’m sure. Or, just wondering where he went. When she catches sight of him returning, she is understandably excited to see him. The one guy that helped her out with everything, in her worst times. The one guy that made her stop from becoming a beast again.. Shits on her entirely. Eyup, you heard it right. Apparently, getting people totally dependent on you and then being a giant asshole, is something Kique favors doing. Aira of course asks Keirr where he went, Keirr is suddenly acting like the biggest ass to Aira. Which tbh, he has no right doing. HE is the REASON she is there, in the first place. She has EXPRESSED to him NUMEROUS times she is uncomfortable with the tribe, but yet, he took her cries for help and rolled them up and tossed them like newspaper. What a god damn jerk Keirr is. And of course, Aira is understandably upset. Keirr basically told her to fuck off and go make her own friends. Even tho a few chapters ago, he was seen cuddling and holding her, telling her he was there for her. FUCK you Keirr. ( Page 481 - 482 )
In the next scene, Keirr then wants to play a pity party for himself, sitting in the rain, all sad looking. Like he didn’t cause this whole situation for himself. Nothing told this jackass to join Whispervale and stop searching for his family, he did it all himself! So really, why tf is he sitting there acting all depressed? Get off your ass and go look for them! Nobody told you that you couldn’t? Honestly, he’s lucky that Aira still gives a damn about him, even after he treated her like utter dog shit. Then, while Keirr is acting like a baby, Zilas makes an appearance and Keirrs dumbass thinks it’s a grand idea to talk to the ghoul. It’s kind of interesting to me how Zilas is still mostly recognizable.. You would think by now he’d peel his skin off, you know, like what Fjordor said that ghouls do. Zilas has been dead for quite a while. Aira then witnesses all of this and comes to his aid, banishing the ghoul. Keirr then suddenly gets all butt hurt about it and snarls at Aira. Okay, I get it, you’re mourning dude, but I would have figured you’d have some logic / sense to know that Zilas.. IS NOT ZILAS! Keirr even asked the ghoul what he could do, like the damn thing can talk back to him. Honestly, Aira should have just let the ghoul tear Keirr up to shreds and save us all the drama lmfao. And one last thing, when Keirr says he saw that ghoul before, but didn’t recognize it. GIRL WHERE? ( Page 515 - 517 )
Suddenly, Keirr is the master of establishing the differences in the ghouls sounds and can still hear Zilas. Also, when Aira mentions that she lived with the Meteor Tribe, really that opened up way too many questions about her that I’d like to ask. But anyway. Aira gives some speech to Keirr about how MT basically fucked around and found out with the spirits. Then a conversation falls into place about burning Zilas’s body on MT land, which ew, his body im sure would be pretty rotted away by now. But this also brings me to another question, what are the ghouls made of? Are they a manifestation of the soul? They quite obviously can’t be their former bodies, because if that were the case, they wouldn’t even find Zilas’s body, as he would have risen and been a ghoul. Another fat question for this comic and I’m not even sure if this was talked about? ( I’ll be honest with you, I forget if this part was talked about. ) ( Page 518 - 519 )
And here we go with the sexual tension between these two idiots, Keirr and Raun. Raun is a full on creep already, but really Keirr is the big asshole here. Previously, Raun asked him out, as he mentioned before the trip, to Felidae and Aira. So instead of.. Idk, not leading Raun on, what does Keirr do? Hugs him and shares a tender moment with him. Oh trust me guys, it gets fucking worse from this point. And I will continue to say that Raun is a creep, but even he doesn’t deserve to be led on. I also don’t remember Raun asking Keirr out, but I’ll just assume that was yet another important off screen moment. This is also yet another rushed, no chemistry ship crammed down our throats by Kique. ( Page 526 )
So finally we get to the part where they eventually burn Zilas’s body, Aira asks Keirr if he wants to say something and of course! Nothing. It’s almost like any time someone dies in this comic, proper funerals don’t exist. Granted, Keirr just said “I love you, brother.” But when given the opportunity before hand, he was like eh, I don’t have shit to say lmao. ( Page 528 )
Fast forward to a year, I mean 3 months later ( in Keirrs arc ). Of course, in another off screen moment, supposedly Keirr and the others returned to Whispervale and told Fraujar what happened. In my opinion, I feel like some punishment should have been bestowed upon them, or at least show Fraujar being upset with them for doing this behind his back. It would have shown more character from Fraujar and also shown Keirr getting his ass chewed out, by bringing all this unnecessary drama and bullshit into Whispervale. Keirr is also being another nosy ass, listening in on his Jarls discussion. Within the midst of this, Ferah makes her appearance. Keirr miraculously still remembers her and asks what the hell happened. I almost forgot that Keirr and Ferah met previously, because they literally didn’t say anything to each other lol. ( Page 566 - 567 )
Oh boy, here comes the cringiest scene that involves Keirr. Keirr steps away for a moment, after watching Ferah, once Felidae walks in. Ferah wakes up and of course is spooked, cause she doesn’t know wtf is going on. Somehow they both remember each others names, though I don’t remember them ever sharing their names to each other previously. Anyway, Keirr asks Ferah questions about Roamer and Ferah tells him that Ronja and Roamer are at MT. Of course, Keirr gets excited and quite frankly I’m surprised he didn’t smell them before, because Keirr was literally in their territory a few months back, but whatever! Ferah then tells Keirr they’ve both been strong and bla bla. Keirr of course tries to take off, being this annoying problem child as usual. If I were Fraujar I would be so annoyed with Keirr lmfao. Of course you can’t just take off like that, from your tribe, which YOU wanted to join. Raun stops Keirr from running off and what follows after is a recipe for fucking disaster lol. Keirr ends up kissing Raun, further leading the king of creeps on. Keirr KNOWS that Raun likes him, so apparently kissing him out of emotional excitement is a totally normal thing to do. Especially when you know that person has a CRUSH on you and yet you don’t reciprocate it! No, no, it’s totally okay to lead on someone who has feelings for you! ( Page 572 - 576 )
Damn near 100 pages later and we finally see Keirr again. Course, nothing has changed with him. Raun and Keirr are seen in a hut together, Raun is basically asking Keirr what they are, because I mean.. They touched tongues, lmfao. But that was because of Keirr throwing himself at Raun, so really I don’t blame Raun for asking. Now in Keirrs defense, I don’t know why tf Raun is grabbing Keirr like that, when asking him a question, so I mean Keirrs response is a little valid, when he yells at Raun. But the blame still lies with Keirr, because this whole time he has led Raun on, but at the same time Raun has been a giant freaking creep bag as well. They are then interrupted when Keirr walks out and runs into Fraujar, standing there, needing to talk to Keirr. ( Page 640 - 641 )
A few pages later, we see a non emotional reunion between Keirr, Ronja and Roamer. I mean god, all of their expressions are so god damn bland. Y’all haven’t seen each other in months, but let’s just 1,000 yard stare at each other, BEAUTIFUL. ( Page 645 - 646 )
Fast waaaay forwards, to more important scenes involving Keirr. After Rhov and Keirr’s reunion, we are graced with a scene where Rhov and Feaf are telling Keirr that MT might get attacked… This fucking idiot. So instead of putting this whole thing on top priority, Keirr just brushes it off and is like.. I’Ll TeLl FrAuJaR iN tHe MoRnInG. Dumbass, how do you know if they are attacking MT? Feaf literally said they might come to Whispervale? How does Keirr know they aren’t literally waiting in ambush, that very moment? HE DOESNT. So instead of putting his family top priority, like he probably should’ve, he decides to talk about his relationship status. What a great fucking family member / tribe member he is. On top of this, “figuring himself out.” I think you know where you stand, buddy. This whole scene though, Keirr was an idiot. He doesn’t even show the slightest BIT of concern for his family / MT. Let’s act depressed af, because he didn’t know where everyone was, but as soon as he finds them and they could potentially be in danger, ah, let’s wait to warn others till morning! ( Page 788 - 791 )
Finally Keirr and Whispervale show up, but yall are too damn late already. ( Page 808 )
And that about sums up my read along breakdown!
-
- Personality Breakdown
Tumblr media
So looking over Keirrs personality traits really gives me some mixed feelings. To be honest, I can’t say that he is independent. Not anymore at least, he was the one that decided he wanted to join Whispervale, he even went against his own independent idea of searching for his family. So for me, he is neither logical, independent OR family - oriented.
A few of these other positive personality traits really haven’t been tested thru the fire, so I can’t really say what he is or isn’t. Mainly because Kique does not focus much on Keirr, like he does with the jackasses of MT and former MT members.
To put it all in perspective though, Keirr was a pretty solid character in Asmundr and in the beginning of Home. Unfortunately, he too fell victim of Kiques weird kinks / fans and became a whole contradiction to himself and his own personality traits.
-
And that is the end ladies and gentlemen! Hope you enjoy :)

Kique: Anthro or no anthro?
So I was looking at the preview for Chapter 14 and I noticed how one of the big cats is lifting Ranach (I'm assuming it's him by the double-nicks in his right ear) by the front of his cloak with his front paws. I'm not gonna link it because it's on Patreon.
I don't know if his readers/fans have noticed it yet, on Patreon or otherwise, but over the years he's been recently trying to incorporate more and more anthropomorphic characteristics onto his canine and feline characters. Case in point, his gratuitous and unnecessarily graphic NSFW pages, where he puts his characters in various human-sex positions. Then there's several rare moments in the comic where he plays around with his anatomically-accurate quadrupedal dog and big cat characters and suddenly makes them do things with their paws and hind-legs such as this:
Tumblr media
Non-anthro dogs should not be able to cross their hind-legs like that. They can "sploot" similar to the way Jahla is, but "splooting" is where dogs, cats, and others such as squirrels spread their hind-legs out on both sides of their bodies. Jahla is lying flat on her back, but her hind-legs are crossing over one another the way a human would.
Normally, this wouldn't be a problem. It's perfectly fine to give quadrupedal characters the ability to use their paws as hands. After all, that's what "anthropomorphism" is: giving human traits or characteristics, physical or emotional, to non-humans. They don't always need to have bodies with human anatomy fully bound to being bipedal and wearing clothes to be considered "anthro"/"anthropomorphic". But the problem is not that the characters are anthropomorphic or can hold things in their paws. The problem is that this is occurring far into the sequel and none of it was present in Asmundr. If I recall correctly. When characters out of nowhere start exhibiting such traits several pages ahead without any explanation (and when such traits are used so sparingly), there's a problem. It's interesting how for the majority of Asmundr and its sequel, he's had all his characters completely quadrupedal with lack of evolution in their paws, where they can't grip things using their digits like human hands. But now, he's been slowly and gradually changing the rules throughout the rest of the comic. In Home, we've had a few other rare and weird occurrences where dogs and cats would do things with their paws, including but not limited to the awkward-looking panel where Kargo apparently snapped his own arm to grab one of the raiders in a strangle-hold while stabbing it in the neck, and we had Feaf holding up the Golden Lioness feather. And later again when Zahira holds the aforementioned feather after Feaf gives it to her. Characters are also now embracing one another with their forelimbs, which doesn't break the suspension of disbelief too much, as it happened many times in The Lion King and Simba's Pride, but up until Home I don't think we ever saw characters being capable of supporting or holding each other like that. There are possibly other instances where these things happen, but I don't remember the rest. Where was all of this in previous chapters? Where was this in Asmundr? Why weren't these characteristics present throughout the comics? If he had gone in this direction from the start, it would have saved his readers and himself the grief of making excuses and constant head-scratching.It would explain how they'd be able to put the armor and tunics on, as so many readers were scratching their heads in an older chapter. It's weird that he's pulling these rare and sudden behaviors from his characters' anatomy on his readers like this. Screenshots taken by the old CCS blog from the first time Kique had the comments open and posted Page 305 on Smackjeeves:

Symbolism? Where?
Tumblr media
So many readers were scratching their heads and getting frustrated by his vague answers for how his dog characters could put the armor on, and he excused it away by claiming the clothes had magnets created by the aliens. I know magnets were established earlier in the story, but I don't remember if it was always there or if Kique had gone back and edited the page to include Roamer's speech-bubble including magnets. I'm sure he didn't, but I wouldn't be surprised if he did go back and add some things since he's had a bad habit of doing that, even with the Roamer x Kargo panels and pages, making it seem like Roamer was always uncomfortable around him or hesitant even though he never was, until Page 214 on Chapter 7, where Kargo is being intimate with Roamer until Roamer basically tells him to slow down and Kargo obliges... which by the way, was so generous and sweet of Kargo to do, slowing himself down and allowing Roamer to catch up and get more comfortable around him. Unlike Rogio. The page initially had slightly different dialogue that Kique edited, but still has the same meaning. It baffles me that Kique dragged that dude through the mud, made him go full OOC and irredeemable, and then killed him off, only to bring him back and forcing him into a poly relationship with Roamer AND Rogio (the dog who betrayed him and used Roamer RIGHT AFTER THE PUP FUCKING BROKE UP WITH KARGO BTW) and after Rogio "saved" him from the spirit world complete with reopened wounds from his death and forcing Kargo to believe he owes his dept to Rogio. All so Rogio can look good. But I digress. Why these dogs even need clothes when they have thick fur meant to protect themselves against winter, I have no idea. And why they even have shirts, I have no idea either. I remember he'd draw his old German Shepherd fursona and his old girlfriend Meg's feline fursona in a Don Bluthy style where, naturally, they were quadrupedal but still able to hold things in their paws and balance on two legs, since they were heavily inspired by All Dogs go to Heaven and Madagascar. Wurr, No North and Lost Scent have also done this (and I'm currently trying it out with my own art/story). If these anatomical aspects of his characters were always present since Asmundr, if he had gone in the anthropomorphic All Dogs direction from the start, it wouldn't look so out-of-place. I'm curious about what his readers think of these instances or if they've even noticed it yet. With Avantifeigr, I can buy it because she's a heavily-modified canine that has always had hands and the ability to grip things since her introduction as a monster. And climb, even if Kique made her conveniently forget how to until the fire at the Meteor Tribe.
But yeah. This is what happens when you make up your story and its world-building as you go and publish the first draft without editing, redrafting, and polishing. EDIT: Someone reminded me in the comments of these pages. It looks so awkward. Same with this one with Raimo (the black GSD-looking dog) and Lifa. Piccolo snatching the stick and pointing it at Raimo's chest looks very awkward. There was also this scene with Rogio that I overlooked.

Thank you for the tag @carlossreaders 💕
He’s found himself thinking a lot over the years since his father’s passing, about the memories the mind chooses to purge versus the ones it decides to keep. Life is long and and often painful, friendships end, people go missing, parents are taken from us too early. But there are beautiful moments too, meeting a beautiful boy with sparkling eyes under a rainstorm on the side of a highway and choosing to spend the rest of your life with him, rekindling a relationship with your semi-estranged parents, adopting a sweet boy with big curious eyes and an even bigger heart.
Shortly after his father passed he realized his mind had been selective with the memories it decided to keep from his childhood. He remembered stern redirection, but not the times he was pulled out of school for impromptu visits to the ice cream shop on the other side of town. He remembered an awkward and uncomfortable coming out, but not the baseball games with his father cheering proudly from the stands. He’d forgotten sock puppets and Kique the koala and after-dentist donuts.
With the help of his sisters and his mother, from family photo albums that had been gathering dust in the attic and home videos that required digging through the garage for the VCR, he slowly began reclaiming the happy memories from his childhood. He remembered family cookouts and Slip ‘N Slides patched together in the backyard, weekends at the family ranch and his father teaching him the proper way to throw a football.
It’s something he’s spoken about extensively with his therapist. About the kinds of memories he wants to keep going forward, about ways he can re-train his mind to hold onto the good stuff.
He wants to remember the sweet moments. Like the way his father hugged him so tightly when Carlos asked him to be his best man, and the way TK looked at him on the first night of their honeymoon, out on the balcony as the ocean waves crashed below them, in that perfect moment they were the only two people in the world. He wants to remember the way his mom cried and held his face in her hands when he told her he’d caught his father’s killer, the way his heart felt like it was gonna beat out of his chest the first time Jonah called him Papa.
Or right now. The look of sheer delight on Jonah’s face as he takes a huge bite of his donut, the way the chocolate is smeared across his cheeks and chin. The way his whole body vibrates with it, because, just like his brother, he can’t help but dance when he’s eating the food he loves most.

Marduk was a bad villain from the start because he was never established as a villain beforehand. From the very first page he had appeared, he had been J-Harper's character with a different personality, character design, and motivations. As I said in the comment section, he was a former Sky God turned into a dog for whatever reason, in order to live with them. Because of their falling-out and Kique blocking him on every platform, I don't know what else J-Harper had in mind for him in future chapters. The whole buildup to the final confrontation between him and Jahla could have been more impactful if it wasn't built on coincidences, and if we had actually SEEN him do villainous things, aside from using the obelisk a couple times. Her fight with Marduk was so rushed. She just tears his head off with zero effort, as a final slap in the face/"fuck you!" to his co-writer, I guess. And as usual, Kique can't even give us pages of satisfying, exciting, intense, bloody fights against the “heroes” and villains. Much like the potentially interesting concepts of his world and characters, his fight scenes and battles ALWAYS have to be rushed with unsatisfactory conclusions, and every character moves very statically and the camera angles are always the same. Even Rogihoe's "fight" against his inner-demon/ghoul was anticlimactic, unearned, and unsatisfying. Not just because the fight was rushed as fuck, not just because the characters weren't drawn from multiple different angles, not just because the movements of the characters were very static due to being heavily-referenced from Google images of jumping dogs, but because Rogio is a trash character who did absolutely NOTHING to earn his "redemption" moment. There are so many potentially-good scenes and ideas that Kique just underdevelops and rushes through to get to the next Roamer x Rogio scene. He has plenty of time to draw multiple bonus pages of NSFW dog porn on Patreon, and yet can't be bothered to show us more info of the world INSIDE OF THE COMIC, character development within the comic, their interactions and relationships with each other (and write them as HEALTHY and not co-dependent and toxic with only ONE party making all the decisions for the other person), and can't be bothered to at least give his readers some actual intense, satisfying fight sequences. I've seen anime and read Shonen manga that have had multiple chapters and pages of intense fights for fuck's sake!
I'm not saying fight scenes and battles must ALWAYS be long and drawn-out. You can have quick or short fights as long as it’s well executed, and it isn't sometimes necessary for a fight to last a long time, just as it can be necessary to have long fights. Also, sometimes bigger conflicts can get tiresome if they drag an unnecessarily long time. But if the characters and their struggles and relationships with the villains are engaging enough, they can make sitting through long-lasting fights worth it. However, if almost ALL your fights are rushed with lackluster and anticlimactic end results, there's a problem.
Also, you should NEVER rush your climactic showdown between your main protagonist and your main villain. These are two of your most important characters in your story, who’ve had chapters after chapters, pages after pages of development, personal animosity, and build-up to their final confrontation, so it is the responsibility of your protag as a character to settle their conflict with the main villain once and for all.
Also, don’t shove in another character to do the job FOR them if they never had a personal connection with the villain up ’til now, and it was never supposed to be THEIR fight to begin with. Basically, don’t do what David and Dan did to Arya and the Night King in Game of Thrones Season 8, and most likely what Kique’s going to do with Roamer and Ranach, never mind that Kargo and Ferah have more personal history with him than Roamer ever did. I guess you can argue that it became personal after Roamer got himself involved with Kargo and Ferah’s lives and rescued them during their second escape, and after Ranach killed Kargo…? But it still doesn’t feel organic and earned, it just feels more like it MUST be Roamer’s fight because he’s the hero and a Gary Stu self-insert.
But “heroic" or otherwise (and I say heroic very loosely, as Home’s characters can hardly be considered that, no matter how many times he tries to convince you), the majority of the characters within Home and their conflicts are not engaging, they're not relatable. Either they’re all idiots, or they’re unintentionally written as sociopathic assholes to everyone around them. How the fights in Home play out is ridiculous to look back to, especially considering how Kainan and his pack's final fight against Ranulfr and the army of Liulfr/Shield wolves lasted multiple pages, even if they were unceremoniously killed off too quickly due to the magic spears. Asmundr wasn't that good either, but at least the dogs had a reason to use spears in that comic, because those specific spears were designed to kill the Shield wolves.
Also, I hope Romé is dead. Dude was insufferable and just a yes-man (dog) to Jahla, and an overall idiot who didn’t even try to hide his suspicious attitude and dislike for his former-leader and colleagues when Jahla was held captive, and nearly got his whole pack killed over a stranger he had no reason to trust. Dude was an herbalist and could have just used the sleeping herbs to knock them unconscious while he snuck Jahla out, or he could have invented a lie about having to gather more herbs, as Kique mentioned on the wiki that herbalists have to travel a long way, depending on the type of herbs. He could have been actually smart and strategic, instead of coming up with that dangerous, stupid plan to create a stampede of buffalo that could kill his leader and colleagues.
As much as I hope Romé is dead, there is also a chance that Kique might unfortunately bring him back with the power of asspulling good guy plot-armor. Because good guys and author self-inserts just can’t ever stay dead.
I just found the updated archive and, wow, Marduk's storyline was so... bizarre? And now it's over? (Spoilers ahead)
I thought he was going to be the climax of the entire story, but he was little more than a B tier villain. Even now that he's dead, we never actually saw him do anything outright villainous, and it's just a frustrating tell-don't-show. How we got there also relied on so many coindicences and assumptions. Why did Asmundr pack trust the zioqa and rabisu without further questions? For all they knew, the rabisu could have been the real villains, with Marduk having legitimate need and reason to attack them. They could have lied to the Asmundr in order to gain their trust. At that point, it was still Marduk's word against theirs.
The climax itself also relied on Jahla coincidentally choosing right that moment to start translating the scrolls, and for those scrolls to contain Marduk's Sparknotes backstory. Those scrolls could have been Father's grocery list. It was then perfect timing for her to reach Asmundr right when Rhov and Feaf had coincidentally decided to run away, leading to the fight. Marduk's villain story isn't bad per se, but there was so little build-up to it, and now with Marduk dead and Ranach as the final boss, I doubt the avalanche of plot holes and moral conundrums will ever be addressed.
I'd also be surprised if Romé is actually dead
Now imagine if Jahla ascends to godhood lmfao

I'm guessing the true antagonist is supposed to be Ranach, but he's so one-dimensional, nonthreatening despite everyone in the comic goes on and on about how threatening he is, and has long overstayed his welcome. We should be looking for a Greater Scope Villain at this point. Another problem is that Kique has way too many characters and plotlines. Jahla's Mission to be the World's Worst Ambassador, Origin Orion, the MT plot with Roamer and the others, Rhovanion and the Guild, Deer-Fucker's tribe, and the long-forgotten Asmundr pack with Evil!Khellir--I mean, MARmaDUKe and his possible evil plot against Kique's self-insert--I mean, Father... and possibly many, many other dropped plotlines I probably forgot.
This comic is 800+ pages. It's a reanimated corpse with no legs and dragging its intestines around at this point. The comic should have ended a long time ago, yet it keeps on going. Kique has to wrap up all these plotlines and end it already, or just scrap everything and start all over again with an actual outline and script, instead of improvising everything as he goes.
Alright, Kique really needs to figure out who the hell the antagonist is.
When we first met the matriarch, she was suppose to be seen as pure and kind hearted. Now all of a sudden, Kique seems to be trying to make her evil? She was supposedly playing good guy, telling Jahla that her brother and Origin Orion are about to become a problem. Now suddenly, they’re making tribes disappear, discriminating felines and even at one point trying to wipe out an entire species. I mean, we haven’t even seen Origin Orion try and make any moves, yet. Lately it’s been the matriarch making all the moves, so which is it Kique? Because I’m confused as to how you’re trying to present the matriarch.

So I saw the two most recent pages of Home by Kique Nordin, and it first occurred to me just how awfully rushed these pages are. The last page, Page 807 (yes, seriously, there are 800+ pages and nothing has happened lol), it was daytime and Roamer and Kargo talked about the former killing a dog in cold-blood with no remorse like a psychopath. Yet now, it is suddenly in the evening?
Tumblr media
So, Ronja's Mary-Sue daughters asking her about the raiding dogs in Panel#1 made me think it took place right after Roamer and Kargo's convo last page. But the rest of the page shows that its somewhere in the evening? What?
All because Kique didn't bother to put in a timeline box (for lack of a better word) on the upper corner of the first panel. Which is what he has done every time a scene cuts to a later time in a day, or a time-skip (a month later, a week later, etc.). And now it suddenly jumps to night.
Tumblr media
And Ronja still hasn't punished Roamer for killing that dog. Not surprised. Also, Deer-Fucker Dog (whatever the eff your name was), you are a fucking idiot. More bloodshed would have made things even worse! All they were doing was forcefully evicting MT from their land (btw, what was stopping them from doing that years ago when Arenak was leader??). Yeah, they were destroying their property, which is awful anyway, but someone destroying another person's stuff shouldn't be punishable by DEATH. Ronja specifically said NOT to harm them. Going against that order puts Meteor Tribe in jeopardy. Not to mention, they weren't physically assaulting anyone. Roamer killing the dog was uncalled for.
Tumblr media
Some comments from the newest page. It baffles me that a whole day has gone by, and Ronja STILL hasn't punished Roamer. Roamer should be held accountable for disobeying her orders to not hurt anyone. The fact that the MT is on constant alert now is part of the consequence of Roamer's actions. While Deer-Fucker's advice is true, that if she wants to lead the tribe, Ronja needs to toughen up and not let anyone walk all over her, if she still allows Roamer to get away with doing whatever he wants, she'll stay a doormat.
I doubt Kique will ever let his precious Roami-Stu face real consequences for his actions. Dude has put the entire tribe at risk, yet Ronja and Rogio have talked about it like Roamer (to quote someone in the earlier comments a few pages back) "stole a coworker's lunch".
I also hate how Kique is still turning Vigr, the same dog that pinned Ronja to prepare her "marking" (rape) by Arenak, into a "comic-relief".
Tumblr media
Gotta love retconning previously-evil rapist characters, huh, Kique?? He didn't even show any of these characters getting redemption arcs either. We just have to "assume" all of the rapists are dead in the present, and Vigr and Fúss were good all along but were just "acting on orders" out of fear or some BS, despite never SHOWING any of it. Same with Rogihoe--I mean, ROGIO's so-called redemption.
Everything about Home is awful, and I don't recommend it to any animal xenofiction lover.
Tumblr media
There. I fixed it. XD

The sixth edition of Festival Marvin starts today in Mexico City, and it presents three full days of talks, stand up comedy, and of course, a lot of music. The fest will take over a slew of venues in the neighborhoods of Condesa-Roma and feature some marquee international figures, established names in the Mexican rock pantheon, and new Latin American talent. But the bulk of the festival is given to newer artists from across the country. Marvin has distinguished itself by booking bands from emerging scenes others won’t touch, and that’s where some of the most exciting sounds are developing. We talked to a few acts to see what they had to say about the festival and their respective corners of the music industry.
“Even though it’s very disperse, the scene is freeing itself from stigmas that have hurt it for years,” says Kique Jiménez, singer and guitarist of Car Crash Sisters. The Aguascalientes band has based their sound on 90s alt rock and isn’t afraid of dissonant chords or melodic choruses, as heard on their record The Crystal Garden, released last year. Jiménez continues, “[There’s] dumb stuff like getting called malinchista for singing in English or not playing with mariachis or pre-Hispanic instruments.”
Still, the underground scene is not without its obstacles. “Because I’m in a band, I know a lot of [the other acts], but other people have asked me “Who are they?” And those were similar to some of the comments I read when the lineup was revealed. “They must know them at home!” adds Car Crash Sisters guitarist Alma Salcedo. “It’s great that Marvin decided to turn and get some independent bands, because that’s not something you usually see in festivals of that scope.”
Trillones. Photo by Daniel Patlán
“[The scene is] vast. It’s generating venues where all these projects can have a place,” says Polo Vega, who records under the Trillones alias. “Even though I’m part of it and try to keep up to date, I’m sure I don’t know 60 percent of the things out there and I’m sure there’s a ton that’s really wonderful that I haven’t yet had the pleasure of listening to. It’s impossible to cover everything. That would be utopian; not one festival can do it, but Marvin made a great effort.”
“Even though it’s very disperse, the scene is freeing itself from stigmas that have hurt it for years.”
From his post in Mexicali, Trillones has released two well-received EPs, a critically acclaimed album (2015’s El Tiempo Es Circular) and various collaborations with his unique combination of heady techno and swirling dream pop.
Although much has been accomplished, there’s no finish line to cross. About the scene, Puebla’s Los Sex Sex Sex vocalist and guitarist Yea Speed says, “It’s great, but it’s just starting up; we can’t forget that. Marvin is just a step and hopefully more people will get hyped to keep up with their projects or try to do something different than what you see in this year’s lineup. They should know that making it is not impossible.”
Los Sex Sex Sex
“It was difficult to get gigs outside our city,” says Salcedo. “That’s a chance we didn’t get with our other bands. I’m glad people are taking into the account the music more than where you hail from.” At the same time, Festival Marvin and other similar efforts have been instrumental into rethinking the scene. Vega says, “How the scene has grown – it demonstrates that there are no important cities. Every corner of this beautiful and beaten up country is capable of giving us great surprises.”
For many of these bands, Marvin represents a chance to show their stuff to unsuspecting audiences. “It’s a great opportunity to make friends. We hope to put on a great show and sweat some rock ‘n’ roll with all the energy we have been saving for the day.” Indeed, Sex Sex Sex’s simple yet powerful take on manic punk rock will yield plenty of frenetic moments, something their great Crisis EP only hints at. “Everybody has their own idea of what music and rock ‘n’ roll should be. It’s a great opportunity to hear different perspectives. Mexico is pretty varied, it can’t be defined by one or two bands.”
“Every corner of this beautiful and beaten up country is capable of giving us great surprises.”
Festival Marvin is a big showcase, and having a good section of underground talent surely has its advantages. Yet it remains to be seen if the festival is trying to break this band or if it reflects the state of the music scene at the moment. All three bands agree that it’s a combination of both. “Some bands have had to work hard to be noticed,” says Speed, “But at the same time I like to think there are artists that are [still emerging] and they’re looking at what’s happening – festivals, records, tours, designs, concepts – to see where to take their project.”
Salcedo adds, “Fortunately, there are a ton of blogs, collectives, and people that are helping without trying to take advantage of anyone.” Or as Polo eloquently puts it, “It’s like a closed circuit with each part feeding back into the other.”

It's nice to know that kique-N would rather use the same style/repetitive dialogue for everyone that you can't tell them apart personality-wise more that you can't tell the dogs apart unless they have color splattered on them. very boring and generic if I may add. also, the group trying to avoid the word feral so badly to not give people bad ideas is hilarious. ps. staz tries to contradict herself in at first saying the feral dogs are anthropomorphic and denies they're human but still the dogs do stuff in a human way and not a canine way, we not gonna forget the number of times they don't use their basic dog skills and would rather act human, adding on that they do clothes/weapons/ bonking in human ways that are not possible for dogs to do by anatomy....ok 🙃 💅🏿 oh and stating beforehand they're not drawing feral porn because they're more human but then contradict that in stating they aren't human....n'alright 🤡 💅🏿

White knight in hot waters and seeks vengeance....at the wrong person.
so we have ourselves Liul_fr, a classic name - I know really screams kiq. & staz cult, ass kisser.
Tumblr media
SO we have here a fanatic that follows Home and believe it's the holy grail and staz / kiq. are the symbol of their full devotion. now from actual insight and screenshots (coming soon) this person blocks people, deletes comments, and only wants to hear themselves yap and get praise from the creators, like this is a straight "would live and die" for the cause of staz and kique who has much affirmation of their toxic behaviors and their fanbase. They are now literally stalking this small artist account and seem to be bullying and harassing them just like what staz did in leaking their social media account ( which can be a way of doxxing because doxxing is when you spill information for Malicious intent ) even though the creators tried to save their image of trying and failing to stop the rabid fans that THEY unleashed. Along with them defaming the artist with fake information. what's even funnier than they have Rogio as their PFP and with Rogio being a bad example ( 1, 2 ) to follow. It is just coincidental irony that you choose an emotionally manipulative, sex trafficking, sexual predator as your PFP. Adding on this person got the lashing, more so shunned by his senpai(s), despite them doing everything to be under their graces, alas this grew them into bitter anger and sought revenge....foolishly at the wrong person. instead of moving on, apologizing, or stoping FROM THE BEGINNING!! they went after Carole as stated and now trying to be the batman in their own bloody fantasy. so either way I'm saying this to all DO NOT BULLY OR HARASS, report them to Instagram cause them stalking someone to harass because you got your butt hurt for being banished for something you did, while also going to others accounts and DM's is such a fucking slimy and cowardly way to do it. Especially when they don't have the balls to comment with their own counterattack of the claims on the Staz and Copyright video cause it's easier to scourge someone who wasn't even the one who did the video. and they're lucky this person hopefully is not a minor because that's a whole can of worms I do not want to dive into nor not want to think of. and even after this Liul_fr will STILL THINK Carole did this, I'm calling this obsessive stalker the ✨Liu-andere ✨ and again this is what happens st4z and kique for when you don't take responsibility in making your fanbase healthy and weeding out people that cause problems cause at the end of the day it will backfire. especially when you have over 500 sexually frustrated, horny people that have a thing for feral porn drawings and also the IQ of a cabbage patch. signing out ♡
