So in my job there are 4 instructors including myself and we all have our own strong points.

There’s one who actually has the certification to handle animals (very important given every day of our camps involves a close encounter with an animal) and is the most familiar with the facility because she’s been working here a while.

The one who can pull a game out of his ass at any given moment and is also the only one who has actual summer camp experience. This dude has like a billion summer camp games that are all age appropriate. I’m not even sure he needs to consult our emergency game sheet.

My close work friend (also trans!) who knows. A lot about bugs. Like a lot. Like they have a Bachelors in Bugs, I’m not kidding. This is very useful when we have an entire camp dedicated to bugs. They also know a lot about birds and dinosaurs, which are also central themes of some of our other camps.

And then there’s my ass who has been called “the health and safety guy” by Work Friend because someone will get an idea and I’ll immediately go into Ratchet kinnie mode being like “I can’t even begin to count the number of ways this could go wrong: mass displacement trauma, twisted limbs, metal burn…”
