I'll never be over the fact that Nevarra is Weekend-at-Bernie's-ing its literal monarch, and when Lucanis asks about why King Markus has survived his many, many, many assassination attempts, Emmrich (who knows damn well the guy's a corpse) keeps up the pretense with "oh he's just in great shape for his age :)"

Am I the only one who thinks it's fucked up that the Mortalitasi are parading about King Markus's corpse...as opposed to letting the next in line rule??

He's alive in DAI - old, but very much flesh and blood - and we know this because the venatori use blood magic on him to get him under their control. So, what is he in DATV then? Are they implying that he's a lich? That he still has his mind? That they've got a spirit in there?

What do they gain from this? Cassandra's, what, 64th in line for the throne? So there's a bunch of potential heirs just hanging about -> potential heirs who want the crown because we know that Cassandra's parents were executed for trying to overthrow him.

Cassandra may not be fond of her family, but I can't imagine her letting this slide. This is the type of shit that gets an Exalted March called down on you! Especially if she's divine?! Nevarran's can be 'death-focused'* yes, but they let the living rule and not the dead.

It's their belief that when their soul passes through the Fade it results in a spirit being displaced - so they have the Mortalitasi find the spirit a new home in the Necropolis. That is their job - they maintain the Necropolis and, according to DATV, sometimes deal with awry magic.

The potential relation to a Divine or the Head of the Seekers, the King of Nevarra, is having his corpse puppeted about by a mage...and no one seems to care?!

Is this not super fucked up to anyone else?!!!

Edit - I put this down in the tags but I think it's important to point out: In all the previous games up to this point not once has a mage, manipulating a corpse like this, ever been portrayed as quirky or funny. This is not the norm of what the Mortalitasi are supposed to do - they honour the dead they do not puppet them.

Thedas is a world very strongly intertwined with faith, especially the Chantry. It is Nevarra's attitudes towards death and their burial practices that distinguishes it from other Andrastian nations - they still have the Chantry, the Templars, and the Circle of Magi just as the rest of Southern Thedas has.

It's impossible to imagine any Divine (Leliana, Cassandra, or Vivienne) hearing of this occurring and not taking action against this. It's extremely strange that Emmrich bemoans that half the nobility know this has occurred when this action should be seen as nothing short of an abomination to the faithful - including Emmrich.

I must be a glutton for punishment because I actually watched Kinsey Schofield's 20 min interview w/Valentine Low. May this rant save you from making the same mistake:

Valentine Low & Kinsey Schofield just reminded me that the British press is in desperate need of a grief recovery workshop to let go of their palace manufactured PR image of Sparry, "the CONSERVATIONIST," and accept the REALITY: Sparry has ALWAYS been a member of the lost boys who never intend to grow up. He loves drugs, perverted soho house sex play pens, and living a secret lifestyle in San Francisco, CA. As we saw in the South Park Documentary, Sparry has always wanted to be left alone so he can just bang on his drums all day.

The British media needs to accept that they never knew the Sparry aka Prince Harry. Much like Fergie & Andrew: The Meghans are two (2) intellectually below average individuals who married in haste. Both their academic & professional work histories indicate that these two (2) immature adults, lack even the basic skills necessary to function in society without the help of a PR "machine" whose job is to clean up their messes and repeatedly rebrand them into more acceptable members of polite society. It's past time for Valentine Low and other UK journalists to admit that they never really knew Sparry. No amount of hoping for the best or "covering up" for Sparry's misdeeds can transform the moral rot in his character. They bought and sold the PR image manufactured by the palace. It was the paparazzi & other "undesirables" who had the misfortune of observing the REAL Sparry. They watched him mistreat drivers, security, staffers, etc long BEFORE he was seduced by MEgain.

V Low believes Sparry flew a helicopter! 😳 Come on! Too many REAL service members have spoken out about Sparry's military character and performance and there's nothing good about it.

Sparry, like his wife is also a liar and a bully. He's not intellectually bright, he never was... He even bullied his grandparents before the "spectacle," he bullied Meghan's father...we heard reports about seeking a left wing wife and his interest in living in the US----all before MEgain.

Low also thinks Sparry loves his children. Has Valentine Low ever seen the invisibles? No. He's transferred a PR image to a couple of never before seen kids and their so called father. A so-called "father" who is willing to destroy his brother's children (and the innocent children of other couples) through the spread of destructive lies, has zero interest in the REAL wellbeing of anyone's kids, least of all his own.

As for the Wife: her ability to earn a college degree as an American teenager/young adult without even the offer of an ACADEMIC scholarship means that she too is mediocre and overrated. Her university commencement program states that she was a candidate for a degree in "communications" NOT some whip smart area of study like biochemistry or engineering! 🤦‍♂️

As a university student, thanks to her dad's brother (mike), she spent a measly six (6) weeks in Argentina on an exchange program (paid by her father) until she failed an exam that would have allowed her to apply for (real) jobs in the States. An intellectual or any hard worker would have studied until she passed the test. Not Rachel Meghan Markle. If no one was willing to make an exception for her low marks, then she would whore her way up a series of ladders until she found someone dumb enough to give her a platform.

No, this is NOT a "smart" couple. This couple is a cautionary tale about how Water seeks it's own level: Sparry's mother and teachers did him a disservice, just as MEgain's father did her a disservice: SPARE the rod & SPOIL the child

Kinsey believes that MEgain is "smart" because she achieved a Duchess title. (What does this tell us about Kinsey's IQ. 🤦‍♂️😳)

MEgain became a "Duchess" because she was a professional "seductress" employeed by Markus Anderson & Soho House. Everything this couple achieves is smoke & mirrors based on TRANSACTIONAL relationships where they bully & harass anyone standing in their way.

They don't even possess good work ethics, let alone above average IQs. Please call a spade a spade (or in this case a spare a spare) and stop gaslighting the public about what Sparry could have done had he not been involved with the wife.

A double life | plotted starter

Meeting on dating apps was a regular occurrence for Donatello King, it wasn't anything new for him but this was the first time he started a relationship with someone after meeting them. Something about Ms. Ada Wong drew him in like a fish on a hook and he had to have her. The way she held herself, how she talked, never giving too much information but enough to keep a conversation going? Donatello found himself smitten despite never truly showing it other than physical affection, after all the body told more than words ever could. He would know since he dealt with bodies personally and violently. Always making an assassination look like an accident, no one had caught him yet and no one would ever would.

Donatello was employed as an assassin by a mysterious stranger who was only addressed as Michelangelo after he had dropped out of his residency due to burn out, but he didn't want to waste his years in medical school and apparently Michelangelo had different plans for him and that was to use his scalpel for causing death instead of saving lives. Rumor among the the assassins was that Michelangelo wasn't even even his real name; apparently he changed his alias based on the person who was under his employment. Since Donatello was named after a fellow renaissance artist, it would make sense that the stranger would choose to call himself that.

However, today wasn't the day to think about his employer he had a mission that needed attended to and it just so happened to be the day he planned a date with Ada. Luckily for him, he could do both. He needed the relationship with Ada in order to cover himself so he'd be least likely to be caught while doing his job. Being an assassin put money on the table and paid for the high life that he enjoyed living. Penthouse apartment, luxury car, luxury clothes and accessories, Donatello loved all of it; even it mean to have what he wanted meant taking a life. At first, he couldn't stomach it but over time his victims were well known corrupt people that needed to be terminated. In a way, their sacrifices were for a greater cause. Take one life, save many more.

Once Donatello pulled up to Ada's apartment, he parked his car and headed in the building. He was thankful that he was part of the guest list so going to her apartment would have been easy for him however he choose to remain in the lobby. Pulling out a phone he sent her a quick text letting her know that he had arrived and was waiting. After a couple of moment, he looked up to see her and he almost lost his breath. She was breathtaking. No, you can't get involved too heavily. Just play the part - she's a means to an end. A voice in his head said. Yeah, good luck with that. Another replied, great now he had his consciences arguing, lucky for him he was a master as poker faces.

With a smile spreading on his face he offered his arm for her to link with. " Well you sure do know how to make an entrance. "

yaaaaas, i finished lining up my physical tbr for the summer and i'm excited to see if i'll finish them before the fall. i've never read a Colleen Hoover book, but i wanted to buddy read her most liked book with a friend to see why a lot of ppl hate her so much. i think i'll read the Dune series this fall.
