FTL: I am officially declaring the eradication of FTLR-3 a success. In reality, it should never have even taken this long. It wouldn't have, if FTLR-3 were a normal Rot. But my incredibly cobbled-together and extremely risky plan worked. I've also gotten confirmation about Songs of the Negative Sunlight's state as of now. It all worked out, I should be some form of relieved right now.

FTL: Yet for some reason, I am not. I suspect that Songs of the Negative Sunlight's logs had a more... jarring effect on me than I'd thought. I will not dwell upon it, it is in the past now.

FTL: To describe how the success of the plan went is simple. The Locator pushed FTLR-3's container into the Void, made sure my Overseer was looking, and then waited until the start of the next cycle to confirm that it didn't come back. It, in fact, did not.

FTL: The sense of urgency is gone, and now that I've learned to live with it, it is rather strange. I suppose that could be the feeling that is often described as the aforementioned relief. It could also be said this this was all somewhat of an underwhelming conclusion.

FTL: The question is, what do I do now? I've got my list of potential experiments, yes, but. In all honesty, I think I might just take a break for a cycle. Reply to all the messages I've missed while all this was happening, talk with my Local Group about Songs of the Negative Sunlight.

FTL: It is rather pathetic of me to allow myself to even consider pausing like this, nevermind actually doing it. Though I am pathetic in the first place for messing up so badly.

FTL: To conclude, it's... strange. I feel as though I should have learned something from all this, and maybe I did. I do not truly know. Nor do I particularly care, it doesn't matter at all.

I went to library con (lol its not called library con but thats what i called it. Its American Library Association Annual which is funny bc they call it ALA and I was like...that shitty anime con???) this week in san diego to promote the comic I worked with Terry on "Eat your Heart Out"

I got jumpscared seeing the big banner. My art has never been on anything bigger than art center presentations lmao

We handed out signed copies and it was honestly pretty fun. I have a ton of bookmarks as well if anyone wants one.....if you can find me in real life LMAO

I also got to be on a PANEL like a big professional lmao And met Josie Campbell an animation brethren and we were like "LETS GO TAG! LETS GET THOSE NEGOTIATIONS!!!!" (Reminder that The Animation Guild is due to negotiate with studios in August so please support us!!!)

Downside was is that some of my sunburns are still really fresh (most of them are in gross peeling stage and some are...kinda painful) so I was a bit sweaty and uncomfortable...and now I'm paying for it bc i feel really under the weather.

BUT. lol my issues aside (it was my own damned fault getting burned the weekend before)

It was really fun!

Librarians are really cool lol Especially since I tried to get into that field during my unemployment last year and a half it was interesting hearing what they had to deal with as Librarians for children or teens (The teen librarians kept talking to me about Slam Dunk and One Piece *u*)

There's also this huge emphasis for book sellers in getting your books IN libraries. Books in actual physical libraries does so much for the value of payments of the book (which in turn pays the authors and artists that work on those books).

And how much librarians and libraries do for the industry as a WHOLE. I learned that back in the day when english manga was coming out they were binding the books REALLY SHITTY and its funny bc I DO remember that. The quality was really bad. And because librarians complained about it, because a book circulates through a lot of people rather than if you buy a volume for yourself, the book will get damaged really fast if the book is made poorly. So Viz had to change HOW they bound their books and you can definitely tell now how the quality is so much nicer.

Anyway it was really cool lol And also since it took place at the San Diego Convention center it was really cool to see what SDCC looks like when its not an absolute cluster fuck of people and noise lol I saw where I slept on the ground outside to get into Hall H and we were treated to a dinner at Roys which I'd only ever seen in passing lol (ALSO ROYS WAS SO EXPENSIVE!?!? And I thought the onigiri was like...the salmon went INTO the onigiri....so that was the dish. but it was...a ball of rice onigiri shaped with some salmon ...and it was REALLY good salmon and the misoyaki was good too but.....i was expecting really expensive onigiri and was oddly disappointed it wasn't....that.......anyway)

ANYWAY ANYWAY lmao. Our comic comes out in August 13! I've finally seen the finished product and it came out so well. Yknow that thing where you see your art from a few years ago and you want to crawl into a hole and die? Well lol I still feel that but also I don't because it honestly looks so good and its nice seeing it all in one whole place! The coloring came out really nice ! And I can't wait to see what Claudia did in the second half of the book

Oh yeah I also got a comped train ticket to get me down there and I got to ride the Amtrak which was pretty cool! I ...was EXHAUSTED on both trips down and back so I slept most of the way lmao But look at this guy!

Lol ALTHO I was genuinely surprised that when we came back from san diego the train just goes in reverse.

On shinkansen the seats on the train are able to turn around so you're always facing forwards. So it was a little disorienting at first. I also wished I had an ekiben on the way down.

After trying to find cute Palworld content on tumblr and seeing nothing but whining, it's surprising how many people hate this random ass indie game that was made on a budget of 10k? Like yeah the designs can be boring parodies with a handful of great original ones but the amount of people who are outright hateful's kinda.. odd? Like lads you can critique a game, it's designs and CEO without sending death threats to the developers right? Tumblr likes to steal from the rich so why is it bad when someone actually does? Anyway it's insane how there's people trying to prove the game stole assets from Nintendo and then compare models which. Are not the same poly and vertices wise? And even if it was, it's hard to take seriously when the poster is someone who admits they hate the game for... Animal abuse? Also insane how many people hate Palworld for the fact it has -human- slavery, Pals can do jobs for you 'so it's cruel' and has a certain Pal number 69 who's description is suggestive so the game's immoral and over all "trying too hard to be edgy" it's like. Since when do we police such topics in games of all things? Have you played games that aren't Baby's First Christian Game before? Scratch that because even shitty bad Christian games have harsher shit than what's in Palworld. Catching and selling ppl [who tried to kill you in the first place] in the game's exactly like catching 'mons and it's nowhere near as fucked up as Rimworld where you have to go out of your way to make prisons for people and, if you wanna be extra evil, you can extract their organs and sell them on the market n' nobody tried to cancel that game. In-game, Palworld discourages you from overworking your lil guys and asks you to make spas and beds and keep them well fed and to make sure they're medically sound and happy! Oh no! How cruel! i get if you don't wanna drag this convo out so feel free to ignore but the thing (from my pov) abt shannon is that she's one of the more complex characters. that's what makes her interesting! the nuance is why there's so much to talk about there! but being a good character is not the same as being a good person/mom. and the urge to flatten her into solely a victim of circumstance is 100% a fanon brain thing that imho stems from 1) eddie's unreliable narration of their relationship 2) her underutilization as a character before her death and 3) run of the mill misogyny which assumes every woman has some inherent maternal instinct that precludes them from being a shitty parent of their fault. i may find shannon an interesting character but as a "person" i don't! she was a bad and ableist mom and didn't want to take full accountability for her actions (comparing her abandonment to eddie's service. again unreliable narration is interesting but still unreliable!)

anyway all this to say you're 100000% right in your shannon posts and trying to ignore the shitty parts of her character is Weird and Gross lol

like you said i think so many people r kinda buying into eddie's romanticization of shannon after her death and ignoring the fact that like. not only is he an unreliable narrator because of his own subconscious rewriting of history but he's Also intentionally trying to make sure that christopher isn't hearing anything bad about his dead mother and trying to memorialize her respectfully and kindly even if his real feelings are more complicated.

and yeah i think it's very interesting how people talk about shannon as a Woman and Mother because like. i think oftentimes people want to make her good as like an attempt at feminism yknow but they ultimately just flatten her into Good Mom when actually pretty much the only thing we know for sure about shannon is that she abandoned her kid for two years and said really gross weird shit about his disability. like almost everything else we know about her is shown to us through eddie's rose-tinted glasses.

and i do think that's genuinely So interesting like the fact that eddie gives her the Blurry Dead Wife treatment but we actually know as audience members that she was a bad mom/didn't want to be a mom and wanted a divorce is SO INTERESTING!! but alas... fandom brain.

This one i posted a storyboard for actually its An Aliens I Love You by Utsu-P.

I gave young Rin a sakura motif with her dress because of miku and rin meeting under a sakura tree, teen miku has a pink ribbion and hairclip to continue this. both rins bow and mikus outfit get darker outfits overtime to sybolize the song getting darker. I also gave adult rin the future rin hair. Miku's "alien" form is more or less how its described in the song tho i was lazy and didn't draw the 4 arms in the refs.

also Lily is Rins mom in this yup there she is indeed.

I actually have a lot of assets finished including the ones above i may show em off one day who knows.

i have a fair few sadist Dick thoughts based of off the times in canon where he hurts someone, recognizes that he enjoys it, and express at least some level of disapproval towards himself for feeling that way. no one really talks about how Dick does seem to, yknow, like fighting. not bc he's some angry violent asshole or bc it's violence for the greater good, but just bc it scratches the ever persistent adrenaline need in his brain.

hmmmm. Dick getting fed up with Jason being too thoughtful. we're gonna tread a tiny bit into projection territory but stick with me. when someone spends too much time being used by people or constantly shaping themselves around what others want it can kinda fuck up their head. when someone approaches without wanting that, without wanting them to shape themself around what they want, it can be a shock. Jason so aggressively wants Dick to be independent and true to himself that it's something they fight over, bc Dick's entire life has revolved around serving others and Jason can't just uproot all that by telling him his entire life is a lie and that he should reevaluate everything about himself and everyone around him. ok yeah im having flashbacks to the jaydick thing i wrote forever ago. they can both cook and take turns planning meals, with one making sure to call/message the other if they get busy with something so that they can adjust their plans around whatevers happening. i can also see cooking being a bit personal and intimate to them. Jason sticks to eating shitty fast food most of the time and never really cared about proper meals when he was on his own, but now he has someone to come home to. someone to eat with. he cares a lot about cooking well because he wants to show without words just how much it means to him to have Dick around. Dick has been shown to cook for people when they come over, so i think it'd just feel like basic courtesy to him. some sort of standard politeness to feed and welcome his guests if he can. he wears himself thin a lot of the time and doesn't tend to make an effort to cook when it's just him, but when he does cook he enjoys it. repetitive motions, straightforward instructions, relaxing sounds and smells, cooking is fun. seeing Jason gorge himself is also very heartwarming, and more filling than any meal.

theyd have a mutual agreement to, /if/ they have kids, raise them non-religious. between Jason "possibly catholic but also died and so it's complicated" Todd and Dick "my religion is Batman" Grayson, they really don't wanna pass on any of that to any theoretical kids.

on the subject of child rearing still: i think Dick would be against sending them to any kind of private school. he had a very not good time there and thinks that if theres gonna be a chance for their kid to be picked on either way than he'd rather not waste the money. if anything he thinks private school would be worse, because all those shitty rich kids know each other and each others parents and he'd really prefer his kid not being beat up and called slurs bc of who their parents are. he'd rather homeschool if their schedules allowed it but he recognizes that would be too impractical. Jason would have more mixed feelings, bc there can be a bit of an advantage in the long run from having gone to a reputable and recognizable school, but he also isn't sure it's worth having an argument about when chances are the kids gonna learn all the important stuff from them anyways. there is a very tense conversation to be had before enrolling their baby in kindergarten.

they have a few too many conversations about theoretically having kids for guys who don't have the guts to just go for it. waiting for an orphan to drop in their laps like theyre fuckin batman. idiots.

they're a bit worried about the Titans' reaction but the worst that happens is Wally giving an exaggerated sigh as he gives Donna her well earned 50 bucks. everyone saw it coming, and you two are hopeless. DR thinkin time ummm. I think all the big villains are gonna be somewhat reflections of the main cast in some way. I am once again making sweeping assumptions based on the only 2 seasons of the show we have so far so idk proceed at ur own risk lol

First we got Beatrix and Zeatrix, twin daughters of the emporer, both potential heirs to the throne of imperium. I could see them having a connection to either Wu and Garmadon or Arin and Sora. Wu and Garm mostly because like… their dads?? Both sets of families got the two siblings who are both heirs to this big legacy or whatever, and then the father who’s like the wise old leader of a realm that both children seek approval from (but who might also be kind of a dick sometimes maybe). Beatrix and Zeatrix are definitely the more cynical pair of siblings tho; to me it feels like Wu and garm might have been able to mature and grow in their relationship a bit more than them, just like, over the course of their long lives. (It would honestly make me a little nervous if there’s meant to be a parallel between them lol). On the flip side you have Arin and Sora: one of them has elemental powers, the other does not, just like B and Z. Not a whole lot of coherent thoughts there other than “oof”

Second, we have Bleckt and Roby. Ok like come on I can’t be the only one who thought it was kinda weird that they specifically made Roby Bleckt’s nephew, right? Out of like any other kind of relationship they could’ve had?? There’s something going on there, but the only thing it reminds me of is Wu and Lloyd, the only other prominent Uncle-nephew thing we have in the show. Which again! Making me kinda nervous cuz we know Bleckt absolutely despises Roby like, a startling amount??? Like stabbing voodoo dolls of him and shit?? All because he feels Roby is marring a tradition he probably trained and studied his whole life for. The implications there for Wu and Lloyd are scary

—but also intriguing, cuz it makes me think if maybe a part of Wu does resent Lloyd a little bit. Wu always tried his hardest to live up to his dad’s expectations and legacy and stuff, but I don’t know if he’s ever gotten like, the acknowledgment for all of that, yknow? Then in comes Lloyd, yknow, this little kid who doesn’t know anything about spinjitzu despite being the grandson of Mr. Spinjitzu himself, and he gets to be The Guy who carries on The Legacy. I could imagine myself being a little peeved in that situation (maybe not at Lloyd specifically but just like. At the shitty situation. Just peeved in general yknow) Again, it feels to me like Wu is more mellow than this, like he’s not the kind of guy who would think that way; however I could potentially imagine a younger, less experienced version of him really holding on to these feelings of bitterness.

But I could also be approaching this wrong, in the sense that the parallels aren’t there to show what the main cast’s relationships are “really like” or whatever. They could be trying to show how different they are in contrast, like it’s a “this is what the protagonists are doing right in comparison to the villain” kind of thing. We’re too early on to know what the deal is at this point but I’m definitely still chewing on this stuff lol

i think the story could go similarly but not exactly. obviously a lot would have to change for scourge to fit into idw, but i do think AT LEAST him getting his green look and scars and everything via the master emerald could still work. knuckles would have to be the one to do the deed this time though, and probably some like..idk. writing finagling somewhere. but i genuinely think he could still fit in as some sort of antag like that--a mean sonic from a parallel universe. maybe eggman has something to do with how he got there, too, like he opened a portal to a parallel dimension and out pops this other sonic who happens to be a huge asshole

fhuisdhf iwish i had aventurine cause i feel like ive been getting into a really good groove with planning on how i should play with aventurine as like the support character (support as in im taking an aventurine from my friends lol) but also. the one thing that infuriates me is that you just. shields cant heal you. so theres just that chunk missing from the hp bar that cant be fixed until the battle ends and i go to like a space anchor (or use consumables but i forget they even exist)

but theres just something nice about not taking damage at all because the shields are taking it for you. ...but anyway shields or no id probably still get fucked over

BRUNO -> the people most likely to invite him to things are elsie and mallory and he’s definitely going with mallory. mallory usually invites him to orgies so he’s a bit biased about why he’s going frfr but yknow. if pax invites him to anything tho all bets are off and he’s going to whatever pax asks.

PAX -> i need to actually work on establishing pax’s other friends tbh BUT between another friend and bruno he’d probably pick the other friend. not great best friend behavior sure, but in his defense he’s trying to build up a friend circle of his own outside of just bruno so he kinda frames it as “well i wanna make a good impression and get to know these other people better” — doesn’t make bruno happy but yknow they’re not dating so it’s not like he has a say in it 🤪 (i’m rubbing salt in the wound sorry rune fjdjdjrej)

MALLORY -> she’s the kind of person who wouldn’t pick, she’d just say yes to both plans and then if she made it to both cool—but if she got hung up or wasted (or distracted 👀) at the first event, she’d message the other person as soon as she was able to try and set up a make up event lol. no one ever really gets mad at her if she flakes but that’s mostly bc her follow up is really good.

BRUNO -> define jealousy…? he’s not jealous of most of his friends in the “i want to be you” or “you’re better than me” kind of way, but he’s definitely jealous about pax in the “i don’t want you to find people more important to you than me” kind of way. he’s not particularly egotistical about himself or anything actually it’s more like, when you take him out of his messy relationships and emotional turmoil bruno is actually a really good student and a pretty hard worker—there’s a reason he did actually get into this school on his own merit lmao. tbh it’s night a day what he’s like dealing with real life things and whatnot versus the way he deals with relationships 💀💀

PAX -> he’s a little jealous of bruno actually—but he knows it’s silly bc it’s something neither of them can control: their magical heritage. in the sense that, pax doesn’t have ancestral magic at all (neither of his parents were particularly studious magic users and only know the little basics that most people know so that’s not enough to pass onto him) so he has to work Much harder to do magic than bruno does; who’s got 6 generations of magic at his back. mind you, bruno isn’t like a savant or a prodigy or anything—but pax always (when they were growing up) felt like his achievements paled next to bruno’s who was able to do harder spells and master concepts earlier in life than he did just bc of that slight boost. pax knows it’s silly; he and bruno have talked about it a few times before and bruno is nothing but encouraging of him and his study so it’s not like bruno is being a shitty person and rubbing it in his face or anything he just kinda can’t help it. it’s more… redirected frustration at his parents that he projects onto bruno than him actually being jealous of bruno particularly. tm.

i'll just keep it simple: basically kaito gets dementia (or i guess the robot equivalent of it??). yeah.

not sure if this takes place on the cusp of v3 happening and just this specific kaito v1 module was unable to be updated for some reason? or if they're all still stuck in v2 and v3 hasn't happened yet/will not happen for a while... but i do know its def before v4 happened, so people like fukase and una don't exist yet

anyways though as you might expect, it pretty much sucks all around for everyone involved. not just the other 5 cryptonloids watching their close friend so previously full of life deteriorate into a husk of his former self, but for kaito himself too. he suddenly can't remember things like where he is or who the people around him are, and its incredibly frustrating b/c he knows he did have the memories at some point, its just as if they got misplaced... there's random bits of recollections that do come sometimes but as much as he tries to hold onto them they flicker and fade away just as quick as they appeared. left sinking back into a feeling of hopelessness that then becomes pure emptiness, as you can feel how you're losing yourself but there's quite literally nothing you can do

visually the static is used to represent a lot of that "foggy" feeling as things become more and more unclear, and given the robot/android nature it makes sense i guess? it's not really seen here but just as an actual machine might be when breaking down, his visual + audio processors begin to malfunction, causing a literal static overlay on his vision with faces/objects he can't recognize occasionally glitching out as well as constant white noise in his hearing and the sound of people talking to him becoming garbled and unintelligible. as time goes on he also loses his own ability to synthesize speech so aside from becoming withdrawn and quiet out of fear he'll say something that makes no sense, he then literally just becomes incapable of responding at all

again (as you might expect), the other cryptons aren't doing very well as this is happening. rin and len see kaito almost like a father, so watching one of your parental figures slowly march towards death is... not great. rin (as seen here) is still trying to hold on, because she swears kaito has had a few good days where he does recall more, where he seems much more like his old self, and maybe, just maybe if they wait a bit more he'll get better [tbh she's speedrunning the 7 stages of grief but goes between being stuck in some of the earlier stages its... not good]. len's grief on the other hand is manifesting itself in a way more similar to meiko's: he's not as distant as her, but he has already recognized that there's pretty much nothing that can be done and just wants to minimize kaito's suffering. len's just as shattered as rin though, but he's not showing it openly, figuring he has to accept it, as fighting against the grief like his sister won't help anything.

i just mentioned meiko so speaking of her: this is also probably extremely difficult on her, as, yknow, the counterpart v1 to kaito. she's withdrawn herself away from kaito, as she doesn't want to cause him pain in case he happens to recognize her, remember something about their relationship, but not comprehend what it means and just become confused/distressed. at least, that's what she says; it's more or so she can't bear to see him in this state, as he slowly loses more parts of himself, so she isolates herself in hopes the pain will be somewhat less when its all over, for having seen him less and not having false hopes of his recovery. that being said though she has definitely still been around him and tried to keep her composure... from kaito's pov, in moments of recollection, its disheartening seeing your wife close friend suddenly ignoring you, almost like she's mad or sad about something, but you can't remember why. did you forget to do the laundry? is it something unrelated? you want to ask her but she won't tell you; why? did she already and you just forgot? why...

miku's usual cheeriness has also crumbled, as even with rin's attempts, she can't find anything to be optimistic about in this scenario. she just feels this immense guilt, that she should've done something about this; she has influence as the most popular of the entire group, surely she could do something to make it all better. but aside from the arguments and indecisiveness regarding ethics and not wanting to do something without everyone's collective decision, she does know deep down its not her fault. maybe someone like one of the technicians or programmers would be more at fault, but she doesn't want to blindly throw accusations either, because surely they hadn't foreseen this happening either; nobody would intentionally throw in such a cruel fate for someone, it was an unfortunate system glitch that they were working to fix, but even if they did come up with a patch for it, it would be far too late for kaito at that point. she doesn't want to dwell too much on the logistics of it, miku just wants to be there for everyone else, because she knows how deep in despair the others are—she is too—and doesn't want their whole group to fall apart after such a devastating event.

as for luka: i would assume we're kind of actually seeing everything from her perspective, so as an audience lens she'd be more objective about presenting everything as it is without putting too much of her own bias/thoughts into it. but she's not completely unfeeling either. she tries interacting with kaito quite often, despite some of the others warning her about doing that too much. she tries talking to him about random things, not necessarily aiming to get him to remember anything in specific, though if any of his memories do surface in conversation she'll def address them and ask if he recalls anything more (and if not that's alright too). on some occasions she's been accused of being insensitive, but she doesn't want his death to be this huge tragedy, she would want him to be somewhat happy in his last moments. after everything that's happened, he deserves to leave in peace, in her opinion.

i've mentioned death a few times and there's a literal gravestone in the original emoji combo so safe to say, yeah, he dies. unfortunately the damage to his hardware is beyond repair from the critical/fatal errors and glitches, and it's decided that it'd be best to ultimately just deactivate him and delete all his files to not prolong any pain he might've been in for any longer. not exactly sure what would happen afterwards (aside from an obvious aftermath of the grief): if this is before/on the verge of v3 happening, there's the situation i thought about of them receiving a new replacement v3 kaito module, which has its own angst w/ it: its almost like seeing a fucking ghost, but it's not the same one they all remember, nor does it have all those memories. and this v3 kaito himself experiencing conflicted feelings as someone who was brought in to try and give back happiness to this group, only to seem to cause more despair for being so similar to someone long gone that he'll never truly replace. again though i'm not sure if i'd actually have that happen for the sake of everyone involved's sanity but it is something interesting to think about

So first you yknow,,,,, need to make the drawings,,,, so do that

Ig my tips for that is when coloring I like to pick a main color for each person and keep with that color theme kinda. Also I think drawing very quickly helps cus animators have to draw quick idk 🤷‍♀️

Backrounds you can kinda get away with looking shitty cus who looks at backgrounds except NERDS ( me I am planning on studying backgrounds )

Now the part that people are here for, da filters :3

So I use an app called prequel ( dw it’s free. well actually you can pay for premium but I’m cheap I don’t do that ) and I do like 2 rounds of filters cus you can only have one effect and one filter on at a time

So here we have raw, round one, and round two

( note I usually only do the effects on round two for most of my drawings )

So round one I use the effect Story and the filter Oklahoma ( story adds the text and some texture, Oklahoma adds some yummy color stuff )

And then round two I use the effect Lomography and the filter Brownie ( lomo adds a blur which I think is Essential to retro stuff I use it on every single drawing I’ve posted pretty much. It also adds a little texture and some cool “ leaks “. Brownie just kinda makes it darker lol )

And then for adjustments crank dat grain up, I lower contrast, highlights, add a Tiny bit of fade, saturation up, and add warmth if I’m going for a piece that’s supposed to look like it’s from 1955-1979 and cool I’d I want it to look more 1980-2000s vhs look )

SO i was listening to a song my sister like (Valerie, Amy Winehouse) and there's this line about ginger hair and it was just so specific ig it stuck with me? so im thinking man who do i know with red hair...DUH KUWABARA!!!

nearly every song i listen to gets assigned a character or ship or relationship of some sort idk why but yeah once i fixated on the hair i was able to expand on the rest of the song and a sort of idea settled in the back of my head about kuwameshi

we all know kuwabara is always the one getting left behind but what if while he's off doing his thing yusuke also feels that sense of loss? an absence even though it was his decision to up and leave. it makes no sense cos hey! you felt the need to go back to the demon realm bro but he cannot help how he feels left behind in some illogical sense. i made some notes 😤😤

centers round the time where yusuke goes back to makai after the whole sensui debacle and kuwabara is getting his education studying in prep for college (hell yeah boy !!) not sure if the timelines even match up like that but i literally dont care

i'm working under the canon divergence that keiko really did decide she's not gonna wait for urameshi like that but ofc she's still his bestie and he loves her sooooo much <3

so he's going back. he's a demon now so he feels drawn to the culture. it's a side of himself he's never known after feeling so othered ofc he's interested right?

i mean sure he grew up with other humans but almost everyone hated him/was scared of him ironically he was called a demon or monster or wtv

so he's a little distracted when he literally came here to fight he cant even focus on it

"how is college prep treating him? are the teachers there just as bad as middle school? did he make new human friends? a girlfriend?" basically he's spiraling over changes he might be missing out on this very moment

there's a bunch of talk in the song where the singer wonders if valerie dyed her hair if she's busy if she ever paid that fine if she sold her house if she got a man so that's where i got it lol

yusuke doesn't have to worry about kurama and hiei cos hey they're from here and have lived way longer and they actually do visit but who knows what typa shit could be happening to kuwa right now

ofc he can take care of himself he's really strong but yusuke can't help but remember that time he let kuwabara go when he shouldn't have and he almost died because he wasn't there and yeah. he's worried. sue him

so it's half worry half wistfulness and maybe some other secret third thing and when hiei and maybe kurama (depending on how the idea forms as i write) come to visit or maybe they're also participating wtv

he cant help but think well kuwabara could be here with us if he really WANTED to :/ he's got the jigen to down pat by now so...why hasn't he...

and those old but ever remaining insecurities resurface about how people don't wanna be around him they think he's a nuisance at best no good waste of time a trouble maker. keiko already dumped my sorry ass so who knows maybe kuwabara just...wisened up

kurama has deliberately been using kuwa's first name knowing damn well urameshi doesn't even use it because this dude is not JUST a sweetie he's a fucking master manipulator. gaslight gatekeep bbg

and yusuke is significantly eased by this reaction but now he feels stupid cos he up a left everything just to what? bother kuwabara while he studies to achieve his dreams? yusuke has got no human world aspirations like keiko had. like kurama has. like kuwabara.

and ofc kuwabara looks glad to see him but he wasn't desperate enough to just show up like yusuke had just done and he feels like a pathetic loser so he pouts

he's like yeah hey man just uh. checking in. and i should probably check out hah you seem busy with your books so im gonna scram and he tries to retreat through the window

and ofc kuwa is NOT letting him get away

and there's that desperation yusuke had selfishly wanted to see. kuwabara had just grabbed him without thinking even though he'd promised himself when urameshi left he wasn't gonna just sit around waiting for his life to start when he came back

he remembers when yusuke took him into that headlock and he wanted to succeed like he said he would that day

but still he's just thinking about urameshi all the time and it's awful. he always said he was gonna beat him some day but he just wanted to be near him. but all he sees is his back, even right now
