I got bored and made a future Moomin valley AU and gave them all little happy families

So my Moomin valley fixation came back after like 5 whole years, and originally these were just meant to be one off little ship kid concepts but I grew attached to them and the idea of it and eventually it kinda evolved into a next generation AU in the span of like 3 days… Hope I’m not too late to the party chat…

I’ve been thinking up a LOT about this AU, but I’ll just give a basic run down rlly fast:

Lumi and Linna are best friends and basically take over the roles of snufkin and moomin, who are now lumis parents, the AU is very slice of life and follows a lot of the main lessons from the original moomin shows (Especially a veeeerrryyy familiar dilemma about a friend feeling sad over one choosing to leave for the winter)

Lumi is similar to Snufkin where she has a big urge to get away from social situations and be on her own, and can really only spend prolonged amount of time with her parents (or Linna in certain situations). Despite looking almost exactly like snufkin, she acts a lot like Joxter and it’s no suprise the two are actually very close especially considering their equal love for sleeping and hating authority. Despite her love for sleeping and her indifference to the idea of hibernation, ever since Lumi was able to choose she’s always chose to go south with Snufkin. Even if this makes Linna sad.

Linna is much more social than Lumi, and doesn’t mind speaking her mind and having fun with others. She takes after Snorkmaiden with her love for Romance, and often fantasizes about her “Prince Charming.” Linna, unlike Lumi, has hibernated for all her life, even after she was given the option to hibernate or not, she often wishes that Lumi would stay for the winter, but Lumi is insistent on traveling, but the two are always happy to meet again during the spring and go on their normal adventures. She usually acts as the “pact leader” and is often the one leading the games and day plans, but Lumi helps take charge when they are going on adventures as she is best at it.

There’s a couple side characters that are turned into more important roles, like for example in this AU the joxter is actually a reoccurring character !! (Let’s just pretend that Joxter and Snufkin met & rekindle their relationship and so now Joxter gets to be a silly grandfather!!)

That’s pretty much the basic rundown, and yes I did choose to ship snorkmaiden and Ninny, it was last minute but I thought it’d be actually rlly cute unironically.

at times like these, bruno notices almost immediately that something's up when he walks into your shared home and is met with an eerie silence. it's not long before he's rushing into the bedroom in search of you, only to find you curled up in bed—hidden under covers as you trembled and sniffled lightly. his touch is gentle when he rests his hand on your quivering shoulder, voice even softer as he speaks—asking about what's troubling you.

"what's wrong, mia cara" whether you tell him or not, he encourages you to release whatever tears remain as he holds you, giving you a shoulder to cry on and lots of forehead, nose, and cheek kisses as he tries to soothe you. once you've calmed down, he'll ask if there's anything you want—either a necessity or just something you want, he's getting it without a second thought. he just loves you so much and wants to do all he can for you.

now joesph...is kind of a jerk when he finds you crying at first. he'd baby talk you as he pinches, squishes your cheeks, and flicks your forehead or nose while laughing his ass off, but when he notices that you're not giving him any snappy remarks, slapping his hands away, or laughing with him, that's when he knows something's wrong and he's actually worried.

and when he starts asking you what happened, he almost sounds like a fly that's been buzzing in your ear for god knows how long, but you know he means well, especially when he's giving you the warmest and tightest hug he can—holding you against his chest as you let his heartbeat calm your uneven breathing. he's definitely babying you for the rest of the day and he might tease you a teeny tiny bit, but only to make you laugh.

josuke would probably think he did something to cause you to feel this way and if that's the case, bro's apologizing profusely (please, he's so sorry). whatever the problem might be, expect lots—and i mean lots of short sloppy kisses all over your face while he whispers tons of "I'm sorry" or "it's ok" onto your face. he might refrain from asking what the problem is both out of fear and because he doesn't want to cross boundaries or upset you even more.

but he'll spoil you rotten for the entire week cause he wants you—his everything—to feel better and he wants you to know how much he loves you. cuddles, kisses, hugs, naps together, movie night, whatever the hell you want is exactly what he's gonna give you maybe even before you ask. (he'd probably cry w you, on a serious note).

i think that jotaro would sit there and wait for you to tell him what's wrong so he'll know if it's serious or not—if it's serious he'll stay and listen to what you have to say, but if it's not like you're crying because something is out of stock or something, he's leaving the room and not even sparring you a second glance.

anyway, if you need any type of physical affection, he'd be able to tell from your body language or if you ask him for it but either way, he's not gonna not give you what you want...he's a really good listener, would literally sit there and listen to all that you have to say with no interruptions and he'd cuddle with you until you fall asleep cause he needs to know that you're actually okay, but he's not leaving your side. at all.

ok listen, not exactly like josuke, but i think giorno would be such a sweetheart. he'd ask if you'd wanna talk about it and would be content listening to whatever you say to him while he's holding you in his arms to bring your frantic mind to a slow so you can focus on what you want to say. would definitely cuddle with you in bed—you'll pass out in like less than 20 minutes so yeah.

mista would be so worried but at the same time he's asking who did it with sex pistols in hand (bro's ready to kill a bitch for you). "amore mio, who do i need to kill?" "mista, please don't kill anyone..." he's drowning you in nothing but love (kisses, cuddles, hand-holding, etc). he'd let you wear his hat or play with his hair to calm you down if that's what you want. you're getting spoiled. no, if's and's or but's, you're getting spoiled. want food? he's got it. wanna watch something? the tv's already on. wanna nap? he's already waiting in bed. he'd also let you cry on his shoulder for as long as you need and he'll give you back rubs too. :((

The Batman (2022) thoughts [pt 2/?] FRIENDS AND FAMILY (w Spoilers)

Kinda squeezing opinion about Batman Allies (mainly Selina) and Bruce's family (which includes his parents and Alfred) into one post but we'll live.

Martha Wayne being a woman with mental health issues that had to have gone to several mental facilities felt like a revelation. I am kinda sad I didn't see more discussions about it in the tags. ESPECIALLY since a lot of her anguish stemmed from Trauma and being so close to the public eye. This is intensifies tenfold if if you relate it to theories like "Bruce is Autistic". Because, HELLO, Martha's family probably viewed her as "wrong" if she exhibited neurodivergent behavior and I keep thinking about possible parllels between her and her son and Thomas accepting her as she is and ahhhhhhh. MUCH TO THINK ABOUT.

Selina Kyle felt much more down to earth in this, which I was thankful for. She felt very... not REALISTIC, rather un-fantastical. She is not Catwoman YET, and is weirded out by costumed weirdo Batman and that made their interactions a lot more potent. The movie also did away with some Catwoman-isms I don't like, what my friend reffered to as "too sexy to be alive".

Actually, I felt as if the movie used wigs to have a visual representation of Selina going into a "role" - being sexy, looking innocent, etc etc, while her no-wig look came into play when she was more her real self - which is part of the movie theme of identity.

That is not to say that Selina wasn't MESMERIZING, btw. They gave her this sparkly/flakey eyeshadow that reflected the light so prettily and made her shine.

Selina red wig look was the best Selina wig look. Gosh, Kravitz made that plastic wig WORK. ALSO NARRATIVE IMPORTANCE. The movie heavily associates black-red with the Batman, so Selina wearing a red wig and black outfit is singling that she is working with the Batman.

no "Hello boys!" from Selina. Thank fuck. Also I kind of enjoyed a version of this character that is not overtly flirtatious. Her romantic moments felt kind of sweet, actually. (I'm going to think about Bruce going "Selina?" when the eyecam gets turned on forever)

So..... Selina and Anika (her "friend" that also worked in the club) were dating, right?

I greatly enjoyed this version of Alfred. It was a diversion from the usual interpretation but I think still managed to capture the character's essence. Alfred is Bruce's father (Bruce, keep your teenage-angst-at-30 for yourself, please) - and I enjoyed his prodding trying to get Bruce Wayne to function like a person in society (level: impossible)

There is more staff than just Alfred - Dory the housekeeper, who also seems like a person who was with the family before the Waynes murder. I don't know why, but I really liked this addition. Maybe becasue it allowed my next point, which is-

It's never was outright said, but I got the feeling like Alfred was the Waynes bodyguard, not butler. Which makes a lot more sense in this more "grounded" universe. It also explains why Alfred was so torn about their death and gives better reasoning as to why he felt it was his duty to protect young Bruce. It's not only Bruce the death is eating up, but also Alfred, and perhaps even more so (as Alfred said, Bruce was just a kid). HOWEVER, I think Alfred dealing with those intense emotions and still not spiraling to WHATEVER Bruce had going on makes him a good foil to Bruce and a better mentor/father figure.

I was legit scared they were gonna kill Alfred. Not only cause I LIKE Alfred, but because I could not even begin to fathom the abyss Bruce would have spiraled into.

Martha was an Arkham? Bruce have a connection to ARKHAM? that's a FAMILY? are they in charge of Arkham Asylum? Are any of them alive? I get that the point here was to be like "Bruce Wayne is the prince of Gotham" (as per Falcone- using Prince cause he's the king) but. Like. HUH?

Thomas Wayne was an idiot for consulting Falcone, and that is the best case senario of that predicament. Especially in a city like Gotham. But that's just the thing - Thomas panicked in how this could have affected Martha / Bruce (I fully believe Alfred when he said it wasn't about the campaign) and that made him act out stupid. It's humanizing.

While I think the death of the reporter was way beyond a reasonable reaction, what business does ANYONE have with Martha's mental health? Rhetorical question, of course. Falcone hinted it was a hit piece but tbh I think it was more like a scandalous "tea" and "drama" about a public figure. There is so much to say about the personal life of public personas, prejudice regarding mental health and especially mental health WITHIN the Batman stories. The movie really wasn't about that, but, you know, many thoughts.

Maybe its only me who noticed this but is Eddie the fan favorite on here? I feel sad for Diva so lets give her some love and attention too! Are there any interesting facts about her that you want to share with us? Leave Eddie at home today lol

This is more of a personal one but does it ever bother you (the creator) when fans ask about Eddie more than Diva? You don’t have to answer this part if its too personal

Eddie sure is a fan favorite yeah !! I wouldn’t say it bothers me— I do get a bit sad but Ik the community prefers yandere men over women, so it makes sense for everyone to levitate towards Eddie. Not to mention I haven’t really done Diva any justice with my writing ^^

There have been times where I considered changing Diva’s sex but eh, I like her how she is rn :3 I just gotta work on her character

But onto the facts !!

Diva actually owns a collection of guns, her grandfather enjoys them and she picked up that interest from him. He’s also where she gets her interest in cars from !! She also has pretty scary aim.

Diva also does cam services, and it’s how she makes a lot of her income— glucose benefactors, onlyfans. That being said— she does it just for fun and would have no problem quitting once she got a partner and they voiced their discomfort towards it. That being said— Diva would not do twitch streaming, idk she’s just not v into gaming streams, so she’d probably get a job related to fashion/marketing.

I think a lot of people missed this since I’ve only mentioned it a few times and waaaay back— but Diva has a large scar on her back due to conflict with Eddie in the past. While she holds no grudge against him, I don’t think she cares too much about how he’s still hung up over it. (Not in like ‘get over it’ kinda way but like, ‘it’s not my problem’)

Diva doesn’t live in the same town as Eddie, she moved after getting a scholarship to a university a few towns north, so she lives in a city that’s a few hours away. While Diva typically comes off as a bimbo and almost airheaded, she’s very smart and it comes more naturally unlike Eddie who has to actually study.

Cannot cook, can barely bake. It’s just not in her genes and she has a hard time following recipes because she can be pretty lazy geehee… so she typically eats out or someone she knows cooks for her.

Diva is still very social and bubbly, and she’s extremely friendly. It’s her natural personality, but also— it sure helps draw people closer, and those she’s interested in even closer.

Not to mention when someone likes you, they’re more malleable. Diva’s thoughts not mine !!

Her toxic trait? Poking a bear with a stick. But not in the sense that she wants to get people mad at her— in fact, it goes the other way, she wants to see how far she can push someone when they’re into her.

Unlike Eddie who is repulsed by his violent tendencies, ever since Diva moved to the city, she’s had bad influences. But at least when she needs people to disappear she knows who to call. There’s no blood or dirt on her hands. Usually.

Maybe she isn’t a yandere after all, maybe she is. All that matters to her is how far you can prove how much you love her :)

She wouldn’t stalk MC babes actively, but she would so put an AirTag on one of their possessions without them knowing just so if she did want to check on them, she can check her phone.

And he took the prank on another level

That was it for your relationship

Your boyfriend's behavior was super strange all day today, that making you worried like crazy, on top of everything else you were dealing with, and being pretty unstable emotionally.

You finally got to confront Han about his distance he kept constantly all day long, which is uncharacteristically to this 24/7 clingy man of a boyfriend. And he's literally the biggest support and help you can ask for in every moment of your life. But not today for some reason, when it was one of those days you were feeling drained the most.

Your thoughts were interrupted when you hear a knock on the front door of your house. Taking a deep breath, you reach to your door and opened it, allowing your boyfriend to enter. As he enters, you start feeling sick to your stomach, because he looks and acts nothing like his usual self.

He is usually all smiling and cheerful with all of the occasions he gets seeing you, all the time giving you the biggest and warmest hugs you could possibly ask for, and peppering your face with tons of kisses. Telling you how much he loves you. But right now, he has a cold look on his face, and he says nothing but a small hi, and not even the slightest touches. He just enters your house like he's a total stranger.

"H-Han... My love... What is wrong...? You were all day like this." even if you didn't saw each other, his texts responses were as cold, which caused you anxiety all day.

Sighing, he takes a look at you, before speaking "I'm going to be as quickly as possible. I want to break up with you. I'm not in love with you anymore..." this sends shivers down your spine and your heart drops.

"What...?" your face is drained from every color you had at first, as you are trying your best not to throw up everything you've eaten that day. Every thought possible is crossing your mind now, tears trickling from the corner of your eyes, and you slowly came to the realization "Was I too much of a burden to you, that's why you don't love me anymore, wasn't it? I'm sorry... I knew I should've keep everything to myself. Maybe that way you still loved me..."

If Han didn't regret the prank yet, he does it now. He knows very well about how you feel and how low you can be sometimes but he didn't knew today was one of those day where you needed him and his love the most, not to be met with coldness and distance.

"Oh my god... I'm so sorry... If I knew you were feeling like this, I will not be pulling this prank on you-" he approaches you and take you in his arms, trying to get you to calm down. And you did calmed down, but not because of his hug. More likely because you just shut down completely.

"Playing games with someone's feelings I see. Only if it wasn't in this moment of my life. Maybe then I would've find it funny and laughed." now you are the cold one, pushing him away from you.

"I don't know why exactly I wanted to do the prank... I thought it was going to be funny... I didn't meant to make you feel like this... Is there anything I can do to make up for it?" he's saying it with hope in his eyes, hoping you will forgive his dumb ass and give him another chance. You scoff hearing his words.

"'I thought it was going to be funny'. For who? And yeah. There is something you can do. Get the fuck away from me. I don't want to see you again." you spit every word with so much venom, that if your words were able to kill, he will be dead by now.

Han wants to continue on pleading for forgiveness and asking for another chance. He wants to do better for you again, like he did in the past. But he cannot do it anymore. His words are stuck in his throat. He's too shocked to say anything. Shocked by his own actions. Why did he choose to hurt you like this for fun? This got him sick now. He knows that you are going to do better without him. He always knew that you needed someone better than him. Because even if he knows how hard it is to be emotionally unstable, he still pulled such a prank on you. And not just in a simple, direct way. He went straight up giving you cold shoulder all day long before going to the subject itself. He's no good for you. So he doesn't even try to apologize anymore.

He take one more look at you and his heart broke in an instant when he sees the emotionless eyes before him, which usually are filled with love as they are watching him, but not today. Not anymore. Never again.

Han finally take his leave with that. He regrets everything now. He regrets even thinking about the prank in the first place. He just hopes you will get better soon and move on from him. Allowing yourself to be happy. Allowing yourself to love someone who won't hurt you intentionally with a reckless prank.

Felix sees, Felix does...

Can someone take tik tok away from his hands?

Of course he sees the prank and tries to do it.

Who would think that he, from all of the people, will do it, literally the sunshine

But the sunshine won't shine anymore after this

Seeing this prank all over his tik tok, he is starting to consider doing it on you, just of pure curiosity to see how will you react. He is thinking optimistically and imagining you will recognize it's just a prank and laugh it off.

As he's debating on how to bring this up to you, you just then arrive home, extremely angry and mad because of your work. He doesn't see that you are feeling unwell, as you are usually pretty good at staying calm around other people and smiling like there's nothing going on, which is a bad habit of yours.

"Hey, Lixie." you smile, already feeling much calmer. But your calm state is instantly replaced by an unsettling feeling, as you your boyfriend being all serious and having two fingers on his neck, checking his pulse, being a bit nervous about this prank. "Something bothering you?"

"I... I'm breaking up with you" he avoid looking in your direction and doesn't give you any reason for this sudden action. That's when you come up with the realization that it is one of those tik tok pranks. You already being angry, this just adds more fuel.

"Is there any exact reason for it?" you start questioning Felix, entering his extremely dumb joke.

"W-Well... I-...Um..." he didn't think this through, he doesn't have any reason for breaking up with you. You are literally perfect for him.

"Next time think twice before pulling a hurtful prank." you go in the bedroom and start packing up some of your things, Felix not so far behind you, as he now sees that you were actually in a bad mood and did not want to put up with something like this.

"I just wanted to see how you will react to this prank... I'm sorry... I won't do it again. Please, don't leave me... Please-" he starts pleading for you to stay, but to no avail. You continue packing up the essentials in your bags, before heading towards the front door, in complete silence. This sets Felix into total panic mode. He runs after you and grabs you by the shoulders, spinning you around for you to face him again. "I'm really sorry... Please..."

"No, Yongbok. You fucked up real good with your pranks this time. Oh, and you wanted to see my reaction, right? Well congratulations, you have it. Hope you will enjoy being alone from now on. Goodbye." you snap at him, all of the anger stuck in you all day long finally leaving your body. "I'll send someone to grab the rest of my stuffs in a few days." and with that, you move from his grasps and go out the door, leaving what was your house as well until a second ago.

Felix can't do anything anymore, completely frozen in place. As soon as realization slowly kicks in, he starts sobbing. Falling to his knees as his own legs gave up on him. And his heart aching in so much pain, that it could actually stop any second now.

He doesn't even know what he was expecting at first when he decided to give this prank a go. But he surely didn't expect this. He truly didn't want to hurt you in any way. Felix really thought that you will see it as a silly joke, like you always did with every other pranks. He didn't expect you to react this way, but now that he's thinking about it, you had every right to do so.

He played a game he didn't know it was dangerous and he got you hurt. He should've think the consequences through. Not to think this optimistically about a joke that could potentially hurt a person's feelings.

He fucked up and you have every right to go somewhere better. Somewhere where he couldn't hurt you anymore.

But after you came with another prank and he knew it was a prank, he gave it a shot

This relationship is plant based on constant jokes and stupid pranks...

Everyone questioning how you are still together...

Your dearest best friend, Felix, shared you a link to an unharmful prank, the hickey one. And you immediately wanted to put it in practice, being the fact the your amazing ass boyfriend last week replaced your favorite lipstick with glue. The most common prank, but you still somehow fell for it. After being stuck with your lips sealed together for a good 30 minutes a few days ago, you swore to get revenge. This opportunity is perfect. And the perfect timing indeed, because in one hour you were supposed to meet with Seungmin for a date. So you start preparing everything.

After securing the fake hickey in place on your neck with some setting spray and making sure it's not going to smudge easily, you start heading towards your meeting place.

Seungmin was already waiting for you, as you arrived. "Took you long enough." he says teasingly, before hugging you.

"I was late 5 minutes, pup." you kiss his cheek, before heading towards the actual you needed to be. As you two are walking, you make sure to move your hair away from your neck, so the hickey could be seen.

Seungmin spots short after that the bruise on your skin, and he can feel his stomach drop. Stopping both of you from your track, he takes a look at your neck. "What is this?"

"Hm? I burned my skin accidentally with my hair straightener." you say it so innocently, trying to look convincing that you actually cheat on him.

"Hair straightener my ass, you whore!" he gets extremely angry now. "If you think I'm falling for this excuse of yours, you are totally wrong."

You try to say something, to fix this situation, but nothing comes out of your mouth. Too shocked of how your boyfriend got this angry over a prank. You really thought it was going be a small innocent prank, but you are terrible mistaken.

"We are done. Go to whoever left this mark on your neck." turning around, he takes his leave. And you can't do more than just to stand there, all confused and hurt for a good second. Before coming back to your senses and go after him.

"Seungmin! Wait! Please! Let me explain!" you try your best not to break down sobbing, feeling super guilty for hurting your boyfriend like this. To your surprise, Seungmin stops and turns to face you again, rising one eyebrow, waiting for an explanation. "It's a prank... It's just makeup...Please... I'm sorry..."

"I know." he says smirking. "I was just returning your little joke."

You look at him in shock and tears streaming down your face, glad that it was nothing but a prank, but mad at him for scaring you like this. "You scared me so bad! I thought I lost you!"

"You scared me as well for a second when I saw that mark at first. But I know you and I know that you won't do such thing." taking a napkin from his pocket and wiping away the makeup from your neck, he then hugs you to his chest, letting you crying everything out.

"Let's keep on doing little pranks that won't hurt us next time. Ok, my love?" he continues rubbing your back in circles motion, trying to calm you down.

"Yeah... This was too scary..." you manage to calm down and look at Seungmin, giving him a small smile.

He mirrors your expression, having the sweetest smile, the one that is meant just for you to see, the one that is melting your heart everytime. "I love you, dumbass."

"I love you too, Minnie."

After this prank, he swears he won't listen to his Hyungs ever again, especially Felix and Lee Know

Felix mentioned randomly the prank, and Lee Know came with the suggestion of I.N to do it with you

And poor Innie just went with it and ended up regretting it.

You have felt insecured about your body. Most likely because of the hate comments you get from Jeongin's "fans" on a daily basis, after your relationship got public. People got jealous and starting hating on you. All of the comments about your body. How you should lose some weight. Or how you aren't beautiful enough for Jeongin, got you pretty fast. And now your mind is in a constant spiral. Are you really good enough for him? Does he really loves you? Will he soon see how ugly actually you are and start being disgusted by you?Will he ever stop loving you?

But to your absolute horror, he payed you an unexpected visit, and starts confirming your biggest fears.

You are just standing now in the living room, looking at your boyfriend, while he starts talking "I think we should break up... I fall out of love with you..."

Every color you had in your face until this point, totally drained and gone now. "It is because of how I look... Right? I wasn't enough for you from the start. Your fans were right... " right now, you are incapable of showing any emotions anymore, feeling numb.

✨2024 fic overview✨ (this is mostly for myself and is just me rambling about my writing this year)

okay, so i hesitated making this post. i decided i would, then that i wouldn't. i was convinced i wouldn't because there's no point, really. but here i am because acknowledging accomplishments is something i feel like i should do. this year has been- something, for sure. it's been bad and difficult for the most part and obviously all that won't be over after midnight but i figured i could use some 'celebration', even while i'm struggling

i managed a word count of 172,325 this year which both feels like a lot and very little. i posted 34 works. among them are the longest ones i've written yet, ones that came very easily, ones that mean a lot. i had a lot of fun writing this year but at the same time, it hurt a lot, too, which sounds silly but it really did. i'm not entirely sure how i ended up here but i'm grateful that i did. there's a lot that i can't reread without cringing, a lot that i would rewrite if i had the energy and time but they all mark a moment where i was at that point in time and i think that's okay, in a way

so, as a sort of tradition (can it be a tradition if it's only the second year i do this and i almost didn't?), some of my favorites from this year:

Waiting for the One (The Day That Never Comes)

i really loved the style of this one when i wrote the first chapter, and wasn't planning on expanding upon it but then i spoke it out loud and my brain was like '👀 what if-?' and then it was a lost cause and i suddenly had a few thousands words extra. i still like the style, i think, and some of the choices about the story

Show Me Love

this is one of those that i cringe at, although i hold a lot of love for the whole series and was (am?) thinking about reworking it sometime. i know it meant a lot when i was conceptualizing and writing it, it houses a lot of pain, even though it came out mostly fluffy in the end. i suppose it helped cement me in relation to fluff, and soup as the genesis of everything (/j /lh)

Burn to Get You Out of Me

oh, this one. the concept is painful but i might also cringe at it a bit, i'm not sure why. i think i still like it a lot, it just feels clumsy for some reason. maybe because it feels like long ago, i can't pinpoint it. the feels are something for sure, though

To Safety

this one has a doc with bits and pieces and ideas to expand it into a series, i'm not sure if i'll actually get around to it or not. i know i liked writing it but i have mixed feelings about it now. i also didn't plan on writing more chapters after the first but it still happened. based on 'popularity', i suspect people like it because it's soft and has a certain vulnerability. it's also kind of special to me because it led to me receiving an ask i still remember being very :)) about we'll see what happens with that wip next year

Show Me That Your Arms Can Hold Me

i remember this one. this started as ~1k words written in bed on my phone because i was feeling particularly sad and the words just flowed. i can't recall which part i wrote then, i know it grew quite a lot (i expected it to be a max. 2k oneshot). i still like it but i'm surprised that there was a 'fan favorite' sentence in it, although i have to say, i do like it, too, it's a nice sentence ("Vessel let himself be eased from the tense position he instinctively assumed, knees slipping away from his chest, torso turning towards II’s like his heart was the head of a sunflower seeking the Sun."). i also feel like the style and the metaphors/imagery i used are kinda nice, too, which makes me happy because fairly early on, i knew i wanted to gift it, so i'm glad it 'holds up'

I Will Be Here When You're Ready to Wake Up

oof. this one. i loved it and i kinda don't like it anymore. i know. i fought with it, i planned so much for it, i struggled and i did enjoy it. i didn't expect it to be this long, either. i guess lessons learnt? i don't hate it but it also makes me cringe a bit because i know at one point, i was annoyed, like 'how many sentences can i possibly write that go 'he [did] [something]. [name] [did] [something]'?' and it felt like the answer was 'all of them'. you know what? i do kinda like it. it has details that i like (love?) and it's not half bad. remind me to remember this when i next catch myself hating it (/lh). i also hold it close to my heart because it's the first time my fic inspired art and it's gorgeous

For a While, You and I

this one was so much fun. the idea and the imagery. listening to the songs on loop. loving Vessel for his thing for niche details in his covers that actually carry meaning (or not) but they're still fun. yeah, i like it a lot. i meant to write it with no hope left for them to ever meet because to me, that feels more realistic. stardust doesn't care about love and by that point, does it really matter? really "And they say that nothing is forever // Then what makes love the exception?". i guess it's romantic and comforting to think they might meet and that their particles will collide and fuse for eternity. i think i wanted it to be more like 'if i have to live without you, i'd rather choose not living without you because then we both just don't exist and then we can't be together but we're not apart either'. it's humanly tragic if they're just gone because that's how things go. it's horrifying but it's life. yeah, anyway

Something to Confide In

i didn't plan on writing this. i know that the grocery store conversation was written fairly early on, and some of the later pieces of dialogue. then i was very busy and stressed and sat on the train, and was suddenly at 11k. i finished it all before posting because it was an already anxiety-filled and overwhelming period, so i just put it in my drafts and posted it quickly because i was excited about it. then, i think, after like the first chapter out, i started to dislike it. that's just how things go sometimes. i have a continuation in the works for this, we'll see what happens to it

i have really complicated feelings about my writing and am in a bit of a slump (in general, too, but it extends to creating because of course, it does) but i'm still amazed at how i ended up here in the first place. it feels like i didn't write 'enough' this year and i have my insecurities and little (well. not so little) annoyances. i'm grateful to everyone who reads my works, leaves kudos and comments or shares them when i post their links here. thank you, i appreciate you a lot, you and your feedback help keep me going

at the same time, i have to say that i do often go 'maybe i should just stop', probably more often than it comes across from my words and frequency of posting, which is, oh, well. i'm still going. writing kind of happens at this point, i can't exactly stop my brain from doing it and i do enjoy it, it means a lot, it's an outlet. it is also a weird source of validation but i try not to let that get to me when i can (and fail at it quite often). i've rambled so much, i think i should wrap it up. thank you, i'm still here, this year happened and the next one will, too. take care of yourselves, if you can 💜

im v proud of the story bc i had sm fun writing it and thrillers are my favorite to write, so it means a lot fr. i left it open for interpretation but i did write it with the intent of hc not being a trustworthy character and reader being too clueless to realize lmao.

my interpretation is: hc did get himself in that situation, the entity being himself bc of his power, he has too much of it to handle, he was never to be trusted. he can’t handle NOT having control, ex: with mark when they had their argument, hc felt powerless therefore using everything he had to make a point but ended up effing himself and mark over. i’d also like to think their argument was about haechans change in demeanor and mark wanted to help him/address it but hc’s ego got in the way which is why he won’t explain a lot of details abt the argument to reader.

he ALWAYS gets what he wants and he will find a way to take what he thinks is his. he knew about readers presence at the carnival before he laid eyes on her bc he felt her energy and bc she was already vulnerable since the start of the story he saw her like a squeaky new toy. although he’s the cause of all of this, the sad part is, he really doesn’t know that he’s the problem. therefore he swears it has to be something else. that’s also why he was so attached to the spellbook bc that’s his source for everything.

it goes to show that no matter if reader was there or not he will always find himself in a repetitive cycle of something, whether it was the circus or not (the new cycle being forever trapped with reader and the previous cycle of being addicted to power and not being able to stop).

he’s immune to the mirror maze bc everything was built off his own magic so he won’t be able to see anything that he’s already seen. he’s not able to break the curse on his own bc he’s truly not aware tht he did this to himself.

the souls like jeno, chenle, jaemin, and readers parents are all lost spirits from the town who unfortunately are being used by hc.

reader was able to see everything bc of her vulnerable state and bc of the affects of the blood moon. it could’ve happened to anyone, she was just unlucky. i kinda wanted to show that reader has horrible luck.

reader was lured into hc’s world to show they have always been equally cursed in life which is why their connection is so strong.

but then again thats all my interpretation. i say just bc i wrote it doesn’t mean it has to be 100% true. i didn’t address a lot of that in the story bc theres so many amazing plotlines that could fit into it, i want everyone to have their own version.

ok so um…. My thoughts. My thoughts and my opinions on both the 2004 and 1990 films for POTO. I do heavily criticize the 2004 film so there’s that warning for you if you like the 2004 film more than I do.

The 2004 poto film is ok, not the best thing in the world. I don’t like how Erik (I think he’s called Merik by the phandom, I also like how y’all started calling yourselves the phandom instead of fandom) acts. Tbh there’s not a single joke in that man, he’d hate Cherik (1990 Erik I think).

2004 Erik or the film in general as an off feeling to it but then again idk if this is true to the actual story or not because I haven’t read the book. Also my explanation as to why I absolutely do not like 2004 Erik or the film in general.

Erik is a bitch, I’ll put that up first. He throws a toddler fit every time something doesn’t go his way (tbh Cherik does this as well but his fits feel “toned down” but at least he didn’t actually burn down the building). Merik, which is what I think y’all call 2004 Erik, his character feels stiff for some reason? It feels like he only has 2-3 emotions throughout the entire film, anger and “hubbhuh I’m sad” and “haha I love Christine”. Which those are just anger, sad, and love.

but he just feels stiff

The movie is great, I can appreciate all the costume design and effort that went into it in general, the singing is great and I can appreciate how they put effort into song writing as well. Personally sing songy movies aren’t for me but I can appreciate the music and the songs by themselves. I love the effort that they put into the movie itself because when Erik brings Christine through that hallway of arms holding the candle thingies, I actually really liked that part and how they revealed that the whole thing wasn’t even real later on. I have a hate love relationship with that scene reveal if I’m going to be honest because “erik wtf you walked her through there” and “did he cause those effects???? That’s so cool”

final thoughts on the 2004 film, I can’t really get a clear story on the film. I know what it’s about but the story it’s trying to tell doesn’t feel finished. Sure it tells you what happens between Christine, Erik, and the rest of the opera house, but the only “story” I get is how Erik got there. At the beginning I got confused because Christine already knew Erik, I don’t remember the film having a clear scene on how they met.

moving into my thoughts on the 1990 film, I enjoyed it a lot more than the 2004 film. I feel like it builds up who The Phantom is a lot better and why people fear The Phantom and how this story of The Phantom of the Opera even came to be. It’s because he was born there in the opera itself and according to the movie, his wails as a child started the whole thing in the first place. It also shows other things like why he was put in the opera in the first place. It also tells how tf he was even cared for! He has a father who raised him there and told him why he must never go outside. In the 2004 film it feels weird that he just *stayed there* instead of escaping to a much farther away place in the middle of the night.

in the 1990 film, it feels like I can sympathize with Erik a lot more. I’m not sure if you’re even supposed to sympathize with Merik, but if you were, then I can’t. Cherik on the other hand just feels tragic tbh because he didn’t have to be put down here, sure his face is kinda horrendous but there were so many more options of where he could’ve ended up. With Merik? I cannot sympathize with him, he’s honestly too much of a bitch and I can’t sympathize with him over “he didn’t get the girl” because she doesn’t deserve him.

with Cherik, there’s a reason for why he loves Christine but he does initially take it too far by trying to force her to stay down there with him. I also don’t like when she’s first “I’m worried about him!” Because girl, he tried to trap you down there. Her love for him feels forced because he did indeed hurt her in ways. I’m pretty sure most people don’t like it when you throw them in a cage as if you’re swinging a softball as hard as you can.

Other than that little section of where Cherik tries to trap Christine and where her love and worry for him feel forced? I genuinely like this movie better than the 2004 film

It feels like there’s more overall story to it, how Cherik got there and why, how him and Christine met, how The Phantom of the Opera legend got there, and to me, the story concludes nicer. I meant that it concludes nicer because the 2004 film doesn’t feel finished, to me it feels like everything that could’ve been finished and fleshed out, wasn’t. Sure you don’t have to show *everything* to the viewer because in the 1990 film they could’ve shown Cherik’s face but didn’t, but the 2004 film still feels like there’s holes in the story.

I think this kind of premise can easily be like... edgelord central 'ooh what if the hero were actually the villain', but this one feels true to the characters and their relationship + is very engaging

The dynamics of the other Cegan project I have planned will be very much similar to the Savior!Carl universe with Carl and Negan going from enemies to lovers. The only one that is truly different is the reverse sugar daddy AU where I'm going for a Carl that is super shy and vulnerable, really a gifted kid who has trouble connecting with people and who clings to his crush for his former PE teacher for dear life. I'm really excited about those projects even though I have no idea when I'll have time to write them 😅

I am still heavily involved in TWD universe and I have watched the main show until the end, as well as the Daryl Dixon, The Ones Who Live and the Dead City spinoffs. I was very unhappy with Negan's characterization in the last season of TWD but Dead City really brought a breath of fresh air and I'm excited to see what lies in store for Negan in season 2.

So funny thing, part 4 of the Savior!Carl universe will cover Rick's arrival and the war between the Saviors and the other communities, but because I want to stick closely to canon, part 5 will deal with the time Negan spends in the cell and the Whisperer War. So I have in fact plans for Carl and Negan's relationship even after Negan loses his empire. (I'm actually very excited about their new dynamics after that happens ❤️‍🔥 While Negan will go softer, Carl will become a lot harder and more ruthless so that will be pretty amazing to explore...).

So for the time-line, part 3 will finish this summer for sure, hopefully by beginning of July. I will post chapter 10 this week (hopefully today or tomorrow), and then it's only two more chapters to go. The time-line for 4 is a lot blurrier because I still have a lot of brainstorming to do. Same for part 5 and for the Negan's pov. Ideally, I would like the Negan's pov to post at the same time as part 5 because Carl will spend a lot of time away from Negan while he's in the cell, so posting Negan's pov at the same time would still giving readers a healthy amount of Cegan next to the plot of part 5.

You have no clue how much I wanted to yap about this to someone other than my bestfriend and in a discord server holy shit-

So the Next-Gen Au is literally kinda what you would expect it to be. It's an au about the next generation of dreamchasers...

Basically I aged the dreamchasers up and gave them kids idk it came to mind.

The au is still being worked on so not much as been done but I can still share some stuff about it so here we go!

This is just me yapping about the kids because I don't have much for everyone else again this au is still in the works sorry.

Mateo and Zoey are married and they have a daughter named Tayley.

Tayley shares a lot of interests and talents with both of them and wants to be an artist like her dad. Although, this terms of personality, she got it from her aunt. She is very social and also very hyper. Unfortnately is very much has beef with Chelsea, Cooper's youngest.

(Small fun fact: One time Izzie babysat her and when Mateo and Zoey returned they found her and Izzie covered in glitter. This happened when she was very young. No one knew how she managed to find the glitter in the first place but she did it.)

Cooper is unfortnately divorced but has two daughters: Jessica (Older) and Chelsea (Younger).

Izzie is a single mother who adopted a child named Marco.

Marco is a complete nerd. He is a BIG fan of Bunchu Bunny (His mom caused this by letting him watch it with her when he was small. Yes that anime still exists in this au. Yes she is still a fan.) often beggin his mom to get merch for whenever he has the chance. He is also insanely... like... very energetic... even more than Tayley. DO NOT let him eat a large amount of sugar.

(Fun fact: His room is decked out in Bunchu Bunny plushes and action figures. There are some things from other things he likes, however, but it's a very small amount.)

Speaking of Tayley, those two are basically partners in crime. They often hang out with eachother, basically sharing a braincell too.

Chelsea is... very rude, honestly. She has a very large ego for some reason, often being very snooty, making light yet harsh jabs at others whether provoked or not. Although despite her rudeness, one could say she is very smart, even smarter than her sister, often getting straight A's in all of her classes. She is also very interested in technology, sometimes pestering her father about it. However, despite this, she is somewhat more into poetry.

Jessica is a very sporty girl with a hint of nature lover in her. You would often find her outside either playing soccer with her friends or perhaps simply enjoying the outdoors. She is very smart, especially in terms of both sports and nature. She is also very fond of animals, her favorite being dogs.

(Sadish Fun fact: Before the divorce, she loved to garden with her mother. She still does it, occasionally.)

Sad fact: She cried when their dog ran away. Her name was Rose. She named the dog.)

(Sad fact: While she has had certain moments before the divorce, most of her rude ways started to occur post-divorce.)

Logan and Astrid and are married and have a kid and I really do not feel like sharing current his name rn because I wanna change it into something else so please give me suggestions. I beg of you-

I will say he is actually like... insanely shy. He's very quiet and soft-spoken in nature and often finds himself reading books he likes or otherwise just... not socializing. It's only really when you get to know him that he actually comes out of his shell a little bit. He is also a little sporty but finds himself more into music. Very big fan of EDM but he will never admit this out loud. He is also a "straight A" student.

(Fun fact: When he was younger, he always needed to be read a bed-time story before he sleeps. Otherwise, he's not gonna go to sleep. Telling him some story of whatever happened that day or maybe even in the past worked as well.)

So yeah that's kinda... all I really got for now. There's more but I'm gonna share it later since it's getting late for me. Ty so much for letting me yap I appreciate u

Okay so this is kinda mildly related to the post I made a while back about people making a crossover between diff Mike Faist characters but also slightly unrelated.

Anyways - here are some of my HCs that Art Donaldson can sing (Pls don't hate if you don't like/think it's OOC and stuff - this is pretty much completely self indulgent)

He's always been able to sing, and he actually really likes it

In terms of natural talent this is probably the thing that he's best at - like yeah he's good at tennis but he's always had to train super hard - when it comes to singing it's like how Patrick is just naturally great at tennis

He also happens to like musical theatre - when they're kids Patrick teases him for it and Art tries to say smth about how there are plenty of straight male theatre kids out there (Patrick always scoffs, but he lets it be)

When he's younger he even joins a choir and in school he checks out if they have a musical theatre club - when they do he joins

When he starts to get very into tennis he stops any extracurriculars that include singing, he's got to work extremely hard to be as good (or one day maybe even better) then Patrick

He still likes it he just doesn't have time, by the time they're in college it's something he really only occasionally does in the shower or if they're at karaoke or something (and occasionally just when he's really drunk)

Additionally with all the exercises and practice (and pining over one (both really - though he doesn't know it) of his friends) he doesn't really even have time to consume musical media like he used to

In fact the first time Tashi hears him sing it's cause he's drunk and he just happens to like the song on the radio

He doesn't sound as good as if he was sober but Tashi makes a little comment about him not sounding too bad later

When Tashi gets injured (and when they start dating) he pretty much stops all together - he has to work hard to be great, because he wants to be great (and because he wants Tashi to be proud of him, because he knows that she was the one who should've become a great tennis player and he figures maybe if he can be good enough for her she'll be able to live through him just a little bit and she'll stop looking so sad and maybe that little bit of hatred in her eyes will finally disappear)

When his daughter is born he doesn't stay home for long - no matter how much he wants to - but when he does he offers to sing her lullabies and sometimes Tashi will watch

In those moments their home feels genuinely filled with love and warmth

Then he goes back to tennis

When he gets injured he's at home for a while and he lets himself go back to some of the things he enjoyed

He watches movies with his daughter and catches up on musicals that he hadn't seen yet

More then once Tashi comes home and Art and their daughter (srry I don't actually know/remember her name) are both cuddled up together, maybe they're asleep, maybe they're awake but there's always the sound of a Disney movie playing softly in the background - like if they did fall asleep it midway through the movie

Art's not entirely sure when he started to want to retire but moments like that sure did help the decision

He stops singing again when he gets back on the court - he's lost his confidence from being away for so long and now he has to face Patrick - he feels kinda like shit

When he finally retires he finds a lot of time to do things whilst Patrick and Tashi are out of the house

He catches up on even more musicals and goes back to learning the songs that are his favourites

He dances around with his daughter and almost every time that Tashi and/or Patrick comes back late he's either on that couch by himself or with his daughter

When his daughter talks about wanting to sing he supports her fully and even teaches her how to not hurt her throat when she sings

He also offers to let her join a junior choir

He never quite pushes her - not like some parents push their children to become stars

He wants her to still be able to enjoy it as a past time - because sometimes making things into a challenge can suck the light and fun and happiness out of something (and boy does he know it)

For the first time in years (or maybe ever) the Donaldson (and Zweig because Patrick is pretty much always there) household is filled with music and singing and laughter

Tashi still gets to live with her life including tennis and Patrick gets a great coach and Art just gets to enjoy himself, spend time as a father and maybe get back into a hobby that he thought he's have to drop for a career

Okay so this has stuck with me and I feel it in my soul!

I haven’t been much into Romy since their wedding and I couldn’t really figure out why until the hype with the 97’ series. I realized that over the span of their on/off relationship she has been reaaaaaaally shitty to him :/ and the more I think on it the less I like the ship.

First we have Antarctica then her dropping him for ol’ crusty (no offence Rogue and Magneto shippers but if anything bring back Joseph for all that) then the really weird comic that I won’t lie I skipped when Raven was pretending to be a kid and seducing Remy because wtf was that!? Yet what I did notice (from a post on Reddit) is that this isn’t the first time Mystique has sexually harassed Remy and Rogue sort of blamed him??? Not mention her own mother trying to kill “her man” but that’s never brought up. Also the Joelle thing!!! I LOVED her so much, so sad she didn’t get to develop but it really felt like Rogue only wanted Remy back because he genuinely liked someone else and she was jealous even though she was the one who dumped him (again!). I’m starting to feel the ship on Rogue’s part just isn’t genuine, that she’s not mature enough to be in a relationship yet.

The biggest pet pev I’ve found for the Romy thing is actually not long before their wedding and I do remember thinking it was over for them in A-X I think? When Rogue made a report about trust for Remy and he either left or was kicked off the team? Anyways I’ve seen that post floating around a few time and yeah :\ hate to admit it but I see why so many people are no longer liking the ship. But your comment about the writers is So So fact! It isn’t just the writing if this has happened more than once which in comic Rogue just seems to shit on Remy all the time, even after their marriage and it kinda sucks now. It feels like there’s no forward for them (in my opinion) It feels dull and all consuming of Remy’s personality. He’s not perfect, I love him for that. He’s so funky and he messes up a lot but he learns and betters himself. Rogue has never once owned her drama or the drama she’s caused for Remy for no good reason. It would be great to see a change in their dynamics but it reads to me as she hasn’t really ever loved Remy she just enjoys how he makes her feel. It doesn’t make her a bad person but it does make her a bad girlfriend/wife/lover. I think Rogue is just one of them people who’s messy. If that makes sense. She has great qualities but she also is very very flawed particularly when it comes to Remy. She’s bitchy, loud and judgemental but she’s loyal to her friends… Remy was never one of them though.

Gambit in his solo era was the perfect version of himself. I really miss that. They don’t have to break them up or anything for that to be a thing again, Rogue is in so many comics beyond the X-men, why can’t Remy? Why does he have to be attached to her like a third limb when she can go off doing whatever she likes. The ickies thing for me with Remy was him never really letting her go even when we’ve seen him having healthy connections with other people and the ickies thing for Rogue is her very controlling tendencies when it come to Remy (The poker game, I don’t think I’ve forgiven the writers for her breaking up his poker game, like gal, you knew that was his thang before you married him).

I’d love Remy to just be… Remy again. To see more of his past life and connections to New Orleans. I was really sad to see in Uncanny X-men that his family wasn’t even mentioned. He’s right there in Louisiana but hasn’t even thought of them. We see more of Remy interacting with Raven + Irene who hate him than we get with his own fam and friends from back home (I love the south, I’ll swallow the comic whole to see some Cajun and Creole culture in a solo for Remy).

I’d love for Rogue to wake up and see what she’s got or just let go because right now it doesn’t seem to be working. We get a few good scenes with them and then it’s back to trust issues and betrayal and making Remy look incompetent (let’s be real, he’s hardly even a main character anymore, he’s eye candy and he’s got as hell but that’s not THEE Remy Lebeau. He can be sexy and a badass) she overshadows him. I’d love to see her and Raven actually have some quality time discussing her childhood or something about their complex past. That’s her mother but they never act that way despite Raven choosing Anna when she never cared for her own children. Something in-depth and meaningful.

All in all, like many hardcore Remy Etienne Lebeau fans, I miss my Ragin’ Cajun. I want him to be a sneaky thief and a sassy Queen again. I’d like his trauma to be acknowledged for once (He has waaaaay too much to be okay) Maybe his trauma is why he struggles to let go of Anna? He def has abandonment issues and after one failed marriage I can see why he’d put his heart and soul into this one even if it isn’t working. (They were better before they were married, a mess but independent so it felt a little more meaningful). I’d also love for Remy to be acknowledged as bisexual. His Wiki states he was supposed to be Bi and have a lover in the Thieves Guild who was a man. I’d be fascinated to know when, where and why. How did that work around his childhood love with Bella Donna. How did his very criminal yet oddly Catholic family deal with that.

Can we just get Remy back?

That's why I say the problem goes beyond the writers. Magneto/Joseph. On the one hand we have what happened in Antarctica: Remy doesn't want to die and she lets him die. On the other hand we have what happened in X-Treme: Remy feels he can die in peace as a hero, but Rogue didn't respect that and saved his life. Mystique's stupidities that Rogue never defended him from properly. Joelle's case. Which as you rightly said ''Rogue only wanted Remy back because he genuinely liked someone else and she was jealous even though she was the one who dumped him (again!).'' Her recommending Gambit as a member of the avengers and then saying that he can't be trusted…. ''she hasn’t really ever loved Remy she just enjoys how he makes her feel.' So real it hurts. ''Can we just get Remy back?'' I wish. I'm not giving up hope.

SKYBLING HATER POST /mean

okay so that last repost I did had the exact opposite intended affect on me and now I want to write about how much I hate Pearl and Grian and skyblings in general and sure I don’t watch a lot of their content nowadays and I never watched Pearl’s side of Evo but guess what? no-one is reading this anyways so here we go: 

So first off, do- do Pearl and Grian, like, interact that much on camera? Obviously they’re friends cause Grian invited her to the Life series and  Evo and stuff but when they’re recording they tend to do their own thing in different directions. This might just be because Pearl is upside down all the way in Australia time differences but even when playing on the life series neither of them seem to really spend vast amounts of time with the other. Just a quick cool quick little interaction or teaming up because convenience or they respect the others skill. Or maybe I just don’t watch either’s perspective enough, who knows, just haven’t seen them spend quality time with each other a lot on there. 

As for Hermitcraft, Boatem was a really good group but, uh, guys? Friends? Fellas? there were 5 members of Boatem, not 2. Why are we not going around headcannoning Mumbo and Impulse as brothers if living together makes Pearl and Grian siblings? I don’t remember them interacting all that much in season 9 either, but both did choose to live relatively close to at least one other Boatem member, Impulse and Pearl sibling au when? 

So maybe it’s beacause of Evo then. Maybe it’s that little ol’ Minecraft series that Grian left half a decade ago, cool. Pearl had a sad little montage, good for her. I’ve also heard someone say they were canonically siblings in that series but I’m not bothering to do actual work for this rant so… fun. Point is, all that was a long while ago. Sure their content has gone in wildly different directions since then with being Hermits and Emperors and little copper golems but basing their current relations off of Evo is still relevant, right? And to that I have to say, ABSOLUTELY. I’m a sucker for Evo’s ending and people who love each other finally managing to claw their way back into the other’s arms or literally any other story revolving around the end of Evo ever. I will hold onto my half a decade old Grian and Pearl headcannons till the end of time you hear me???? Authors out there including Evo angst in your work I love you so much, you make me cry. Characters separated by the gods themselves are best characters, and if the only way I’m going to get that content is if they’re blood related then I will swallow my pride and enjoy it to no end! Write more Evo affecting the present stuff and I will uh- give you this random dust bunny in my pocket. Fair trade. 

But- ahem- yes, back to complaining. Jimmy and Pearl. Guys. GUYS, I write Pearl and Jimmy interactions all the time, I’m the Pearl and Jimmy guy! And even I don’t think they interact that much??? As for the present, They have good moments together yeah because they’re both hilarious but they have their own little groups they tend to stay within. Pearls being a girlboss with her best buds and Jimmy’s being bullied by his. Have they even ever teamed in a life series? Did they ever really talk on Empires that much? Jimmy invited her to help with his Christmas village building which was a really nice surprise and they hung out on Evo, but, anything the fandom is both glued to and recent? 

Honestly, my biggest issue is just that is seems like the age old trope of tying a female to a more popular male character and I hate it. Obviously in the world of male dominated mcyt this is kinda hard to avoid but… this headcannon with most popular kid in school Grian specifically when I don’t even see them interacting that much? I understand Grian and Jimmy because they actually have a lot of close, consistent interactions but every time I see Pearl in the mix I just have to pause and question it. There was a really good post a while ago about how people tend to assign her as oldest because reason that is probably ‘well, girls are more mature’, and yeah, why are we doing that? Why are we all just putting her into a trio she’s rarely seen with nowadays anyways? She’s a public menace, not a menace to these two in particular.

With Grian especially it seems to me like it could be a case of sure, woman in her own is cool but what if it was woman and DUDE EVERYONE ALSO LIKES SO MUCH?!???? HOW AMAZINGLY AMAZING. They’ll fit together like two puzzle pieces from different boxes with the same color scheme! So fun right? To me it seems as though this dynamic was not based around these three close friends who were like siblings, but instead, Grian plus his loving family. One member of which is going to wander off to find Gem and Impulse anyways. 

So yeah, I say free them all, but especially Pearl, from this dynamic. Share her chaos! Give her a mace! Set her lose onto the world! 

Or, don’t, lol. Ultimately the point of a fandom is for everyone to have fun, and if shoving these little guys together is what makes you happiest then go for it! I just like complaining and I see a hint of underlying sexism in the headcannon being so widely accepted on what seems to me as such little basis, but who’s a random internet user to stop you from doing what you love. 

Just because I have a personal problem with something that isn’t really hurting anybody doesn’t mean you should stop, like I said, I love writing stories about Jimmy and Pearl clinging onto each other after Evo regardless of my belief that they don’t really do that at all in their content today. So yeah, write your stories, make your art, and remember to have fun with (any very non-problematic 👍) things regardless of what anybody else says! Best wishes to you MCYTumblr! This made my day and I was all blushy and my heart did the whole squeeze of utter affection. I thank you so much! The transplant has been such a journey and that support and encouragement has meant EVERYTHING to me. This was such a huge chapter in my life and sharing it with all of you was scary, but I'm so glad I did.

I'm always surprised (and idk why) whenever someone tells me how much they love Curtis and Honey, it really started out in a quest for me to live out my own happy fantasy and to give Curtis something he so rarely gets. It brings me endless joy to know that they live in other people's hearts too.

I know we discussed Curtis's home set up (I gotta find those messages again, your vision for his house was so good) and Honey's sad little apartment is making me have heart eyes cause Peter the Spiderplant has his own little place on the map!
