Introducing dragon shifter x human trope with fluff!

Y'all know that trope where an alien or otherworldly being needs physical touch with a human in order to learn language and stuff.

See . . . I kinda incorporated that into my characters.

Allen is a Dragon shifter he’s able to transform into anything he sees getting a basic idea about their anatomy and what not it’s a skill all dragons hone since they’re young. When they have contact with that specific species they’re able to gain the same information they have such as language. They mainly use this skill to hunt for food or gather details about specific plants to be mindful of what they eat for the vegetarians out there.

Dragons believe Humans to be dead and humans believe dragons to be a myth

So Allen has never seen a human before Vira is the first human he met.

In order to be able to fit in with the human world (know mathematics common slang etc) he needs to have physical contact (and no this doesn’t really mean dirty stuff) it means the most contact as possible so hugs would work better than kisses. 

So that’s why each night after Vira’s parents go to sleep Allen sneaks to her room (they live in the same house he’s pretending to be a foreign exchange student) and they hold hands for 10 minutes since they have school in the morning. If varsha thinks really hard and Allen focuses on specifics he’s able to focus on important info like math,physics and basically all of Vira’s education. He needs to focus because he’s also able to see Vira’s memories. 

Because of this ordeal Allen and Vira are very used to physical contact with varsha slinging an arm around his shoulder. When they’re in big functions their pinkies are interlinked (varsha used to do that with her cousins so they wouldn’t get lost in a crowd). Varsha also takes advantage of this by being petty and resting her head on his shoulder through car rides as he looks annoyed because it’s good for his ‘knowledge’

One of the rare time we got a real long story about Phantom Blot vs Duck Avenger, it's called The Mystery of the Christmas Letters. (I know there's another one story from Egmont with PK vs PB, but who have not great reviews.)

This Duck Avengers series was focus on Christmas, and faces different enemies. Anyway, this story is not that bad, i found very entertaining even he has cool moments (the panel i show is probably my favorite from this comic) but too bad the cover ruins all the suspense even we can do quick guess in my opinion.

To be honest, the most interesting and very rare fight we got with PK and PB could be from Topolino e il pianeta ramingo even Ultraheroes. These twos was really interesting to watch fight even surprisely collab together in case they are in danger. (because they kinda inspired by phantom thieves afterall.)

Hello, could I ask you for some Radiant Vessel Hollow AU stuff? What's the general lore behind that, how did those two end up as they did and just general brainrot on the idea?

Anon this is the best birthday present ever bc i've been thinking about this au for a while now AND I WANNA TALK ABOUT IT AAAA

SO pretty much the au was born from the idea of "Wouldn't it be fucked up if Hollow ended up joining Radi?" partial inspiration comes from this song as well!

(There's a bunch of subtitles in different languages but I'm going with the english one)

To summarize, after years of fighting Radi inside their mind prison, Radi changes tactics and attempts to make Hollow join her, she promises to give them all that was taken from them, the life they deserved

Hollow doesn't fall right away of course, they try to ignore her, fight her, but after years of the same dance and song they start getting tired, no matter how hard they try Radi is never fully gone when they fight, their void not strong enough to rip her apart, and being the only one with them (The dreamers are also in Hollow's mind prison, but they're not anywhere nearby these two) they can't help but lean on her company

The closest thing I could get to describe their relationship at this point is an odd sense of solidarity, in a way both of them were done wrong by the same guy, and while it does take a lot for Hollow to understand this, deep down they knew there was a bit of resentment towards PK, one that grows in intensity the more these two spend together, and it erupts when they succumb to Radi and she turns them into a vessel for her

It's kinda like what Grimm and the Nightmare heart has going on (or at least the general HC most people got) Hollow made a deal with Radi, she will lend her powers and energy to Hollow for them to call anytime they want, to go back so she can see the world through their eyes (disclaimer: not all the time btw ASHFJKAS just when its necessary/Hollow calls her) there's no cycle of rebirth or anything here though, she's also no longer limited to Hollow's mind, she can see the whole Dream Realm now

So yeah, once Hollow is used to their new powers (and body, they got some changes in appearance) they take down the dreamers, escape the black egg, their presence making the infection spread like a wildfire and take down PK :3 (WL escaped, the knights... yeah they dont make it)

There's still some ideas I gotta clean up after this point, but I talked about this with some people and got the idea that yeah, Hollow does take over Hallownest and its people, everyone is infected to some degree? makes them more agreeable to what's going on but its not enough to make them feral anymore, some of the bugs that got modifications through the infection stay like that and while still a bit volatile, they can think enough to understand things

As for their relationship??? It's odd as fuck KJHSDFJKAH there's nothing romantic, that's for sure, it is definetely more similat to a Lord and their subordinate, but theyre like??? very close?? almost familial, when there's no job to do or Hollow needs reassurance Radi becomes the closest thing to a motherly figure they could get (Even if WL loved them there was no way she couldve shown them that) but its not enough for them to call each other family

as for the game events it would completely change, Ghost would arrive to a completely different Hallownest, where everyone is happy and nice, but the more u progress the game u realize shit's fucked up, Hornet is there as well and she came back to Hallownest to seek revenge for her mother

As to what happens to the abyss and pile of dead siblings, i'm still a bit unsure, part of me thinks Hollow wouldnt want to get rid of it but part of me knows Radi wouldnt let them have it open or even go in there, while still void the light she bestowed upon them would present a threat for the shades living there

and that's most of what I got! I still need to think of other things, but if u guys got other questions or ideas I would love love LOVE to hear them!! :D

The idea came from my personal love for PK and being sad over him being dead. The idea was that PK was alive when Ghost found him and PK turned himself into a charm so Ghost could take PK back to WL so they could be together again

Happy Hornet day!!! Because every day is Hornet day. Did a small redesign of my gijinka, more of previous concepts and overall my experience with designing her are under cut.

That's how we started. Inspired by this guy, yeah. Also there was reference for Suki from the last Airbender, a bit of Cassandra from tts and also with my thoughts of how strongly I love the fact that Hornet is a bastard child of PK, which found it's way into hairstyle.

Then, I grabbed references from Skyrim, which turned into this. I was trying to figure out belts (and I partially succeeded!!!) and also find a compromise for cape since it's really important for Hornet visual. Yeah, I took Thieves Guild Armor set because it seemed for me light enough for Hornet and her intense moves. Then I started to unwrap this layers of leather and clothes.

There's waist, plus shirt, plus two horizontal belts with pouches and small bag (mostly for tools, I really can't imagine a cape with pockets unfortunately) plus two diagonal belts (which were really hard to understand clearly). So, I was pretty happy to learn that it's just like my attempt, only more refined and detailed.

Where started my troubles with the cape? Mostly here. I didn't want to took away her cape yet I liked armor and it felt just like treason 😭✌️. I've even made this things and tried something Mandalorian-like.

Belt was questionable but I figured out that it's for armour, since there's not many options of how to keep them in place. Then @crowinsnow was like "hey what's about one shoulder thingie and cape for the other shoulder?". And there you have it.

Lastly, the mask. Since they're really important for Hollow Knight setting I decided to make some kind of Princess Mononoke reference and put her war paint under mask. Really couldn't to comprehend this visual thing from Silksong... So I came up with alternative design, which was like really simplified version of Silksong mask and connected the needle and Weavers symbols.

And that's kinda all. I was just happy to share and draw all this, trying to analyse and other stuff. I think I've grown much as an artist for the last eight months (that's how long my version of Hornet exists) so yeah...

I’ve had too many bug thoughts and had to draw a reference of my Pale King before I lose it.

Anyway reference notes and little tidbits/HC's!

The runes are written in Willowscript! It's a code created by @thealchemybook on tik tok! Go check them out because they also do other cool codes! I just usually go with Willowscript because I like the look of it and I'm currently learning to write in it.

The cloak's pin hides PK's half of the kingsoul. The pin itself is a combination of the king's brand and a complete looking kingsoul. It's kind of PK's way of trying to cleverly hide his actual piece while still going "I really really love my wife and want to show my love of her to the world."

His tail has spines of the end that are much darker than the rest of his body because I liked the contrast that they gave him. I almost made them the same sort of material as his wings but decided against it. The reason it's that dark is also because I took inspiration from Pale ore! It's got those dark bits in it (probably just ground but whatever)

His second pair of arms is not covered in fabric due to them being his "digging" pair and them typically being covered by the rest of his attire.

The way the robe flares out at the bottom was king of inspired by Grimm's neck collar thing. Also the way it parts isn't normal, it's just to show that it does part there so that when he walks he won't trip over himself.

The cape and robes being darker on the inside is purely personal preference and a need for more colours other than "Pale"

The runes are on each of his horns, with the other hidden ones being "Mind" "Ruler" "Ascended" and "Mimicker". This makes his eight (8) horns from the leftmost one in the picture around go: Knowledge, Soul, Pale, Wyrmling, Mimicker, Mind, Ruler, Ascended.

The words are present on every Wyrm, and change as one grows and changes substantially.

The reason the term Wyrmling is on the Pale King is because in wyrm year's he's not fully grown. He's close, but at the time of his rule it would have been another 150 years until he was old enough for Wyrmling to become simply Wyrm.

Mimicker is present because he changed his shape to blend into the bugs of Hallownest, mimicking them. Seeker is there because a large part of his life was him seeking something, a solution to the infection, a kingdom, loyalty, knowledge. Something.

The rest are kind of self explanatory

His wings fold into his back nicely and he can hide them using his magic.

(I also like to imagine that the monarch wing's were the remains of his wings and he had torn them apart before dragging the palace and himself into the dreamscape because he didn't want to be given the option of leaving the white palace and you kinda need the monarch wings to get through the traps but anyway-)

I'll probably draw another reference of him in battle armour because I have fun ideas for that!

Okay! So!! All of these are based off canon, since I don't really have an AU. I'm gonna bulletpoint cuz I don't know how else to do this

He's definitely an introvert, I know a lot of people consider mbti kinda cringe but I'd say he's either intj or istj

His body looks like PV's!! Since their anatomy is quite similar to Hornet's and neuther Herrah nor WL look like that. They must've gotten it from somewhere (though I really like the weird centipede kinda designs)

He and WL never actually got married, it's not really a thing among gods. Who would even officiate that

He's not very good at picking up on social cues, or at maintaining a conversation about anything he doesn't know about

He knew about PV not being pure, not from the beggining but from that moment at the balcony from the path of pain. He knew but sort of ignored it until after the infection started spreading again after sealing hollow, then he couldn't ignore it anymore

He can fly!!! Not sure how much of a headcanon this is but I want it on this list

He never hated Hornet, but at first he didn't really want to see her bc she reminded him of a lot of things he'd rather forget. By the time he thought about maybe reaching out she already didn't want anything to do with him

He was very reluctant to sacrificing Monomon and Lurien, but even more Herrah bc he knew how it would look, ehich is why he offered the whole Hornet thing (cut dreamer dialogue based take)

Even though I like palewatcher I don't really think it would've been canon, but if it was, I dont think it would have started being a thing until after WL left. Like maybe PK started coming to Lurien for support more and more often end eventually boom. Gay

Buuut also this means that when the sealing happened PK would've been even more alone

He hates Grimm's guts and the feeling is very much mutual, Grimm just happens to enjoy provoking him while PK just wants to get away

He still has a lot of leftover wyrm instincts, which range from sleeping curled up under a whole bunch of pillows to repressing the urge to literally eat people. In this way it helps that WL is a plant, since wyrms are exclusively carnivore

He doesn't need to eat or sleep as long as he has other forms of sustenance, such as a whole kingdom adoring him (bc of god biz) and this is why after the infection resurfaced he became weaker

When he run away, it was partly in fear but mostly in shame and despair. Like after the infection resurfaced after the sealing he couldn't deny the truth about his vessels anymore, not even to himself, and between that, his crippling loneliness, and the knowledge that he couldn't save the bugs of Hallownest he just couldn't deal with it anymore and just Fucked Off

He would never admit this even under torture but he got the idea for a vessel from Grimm

He's an engineer at heart, and a damn good one at that. The only thing he enjoyed about the vessel plan was experimenting with the void and building kingsmoulds and wingsmoulds with it

I think that's it!! So far at least. Might add onto these sometime in the future. I'd like to shoutout @/ruthlesslistener and @/payasita bc their interpretations of PK are heavy inspirations to mine. Go read their fics!!!

I. SEALED CHAMBER | Music by Error Sparrow (Vapor) | Digital Art by DarthButcher

Musician Notes: Sealed Chamber is an instrumental ode to the legendary Pokemon of the Gen III pokemon games (Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald), specifically Regirock, Regice and Registeel. It's an ambient, dungeon synth-kinda track meant to capture the mystique of the elaborate quest through Hoenn's secret areas - undersea, underground and elsewhere - that the player undertakes to find all three Regis. The instrumentation is 100% Pokemon RSE soundfont (with some effects and such thrown in).

Artist Notes: Digital watercolor and ink pen using Adobe Fresco on iPad. May has heard the legend of three bionic beasts and finally thinks she has come upon the cave of legend. She has searched far and wide across Hoenn to try to find the entrance and after a series of trials, her quest may prove fruitful. What she doesn’t know is that while she searches for them, they stand alert to her presence ready to pounce when the moment is right. Stylized with inspiration from Ken Sugimori for a watercolor aesthetic, my first time working with the medium.

II. FUCHSIA ZONE | Music by ZeroJanitor | GBA 2D+3D Gif by Aaron (AReallyFrog)

Musician Notes: Inspired by the translucent pink Game Boy Advance model, officially known as the Fuchsia model. Instrument samples are taken from Sonic Advance 3, and the voice samples are from the LingoJam robot voice generator.

Artist Notes: I created this little animation by exporting the frames from Blender, drawing over them in Aseprite, and then exporting them as a gif. I think the gif struggles a little but I’m happy to have gotten to try combining 2d and 3d animation!

If you’re interested in homebrew games for the gameboy family there are a few collections of roms (.gb/.gbc/.gba) on my itch page I try to keep up to date.

III. WHEN THE LEVEE REMAKES | Music by Joey Puricelli (CaptHayfever) | Watercolor + Cross-Stitch Mixed Media by nyankat

Musician Notes: Arr. for voice, jaw harp (x2), shaker, wood handles, bongos, drumkit, & Casio PK-5.

I had the opening lines of the first verse looping in my head for weeks before I finally had time to hash out the rest of it. There really were a metric buttload of remakes on this system; this song cites 38 (though maybe I’m cheating to include Game & Watch Gallery) & that’s just where I stopped researching because I thought I had too much. My nickname for Kirby in verse 3 came from the American NiD commercials, which for some reason used the theme song to the 1960s spy show Danger Man.

Artist Notes: Watercolor on paper and Aida cloth, cross-stitch. As soon as Joey laid out his idea I was inspired to do a mixed-media piece. This is basically a reimagining of the old Pokemon Kanto intro screen, in a forest clearing, with one side cross-stitch/“low res” and the other watercolor/“high res.” I asked Joey what else he might end up referencing besides Pokemon and went from there. (I presented him with a word map before starting the actual design; this piece was an absolute boatload of work. But I’m pleased to say I captured his intended vibe on the first try!) The full piece depicts Nidorino, Kirby, Piranha Plant, and Samus (low res) vs. Gengar, Meta Knight, Baby Mario on Yoshi, and a Metroid (high res). Let me tell ya, stitching on Aida that you’ve already painted is very difficult! But it made for a really cool effect. Thank you for the collaboration (and your patience lol), Joey!

IV. MY INTERNAL BATTERY HAS RUN DRY | Music by Leo ArcanaXIX | Photography by DarthButcher

Musician Notes: My concept for this was to sample sounds from doing a GBA cartridge internal battery surgery and use those sounds as instruments. I took inspiration for the form of the song itself from "Clockwork" from Castlevania: Circle of the Moon, a GBA game with both an internal battery and a banger soundtrack.

Artist Notes: Shot on a Sony a7IV, Sigma 24-70mm f2.8 DG DN, 70mm, 1/40s, f/7.1, ISO 1000. Nothing says cartridge repair more than actually dismantling a cartridge and beginning to conduct surgery. Utilizing photography with a strong key light, contrast of the system on one side and additional cartridges behind it, and some mild post-production to bring out the colors, this piece tells a story of frustration that a beloved game may have seen its last days.

V. LIQUID CRYSTAL | Music by Revolver Project | Digital Art by Marcus Bower (SpriteDude)

Musician Notes: This song began with the intent to write a dark-step inspired drum & bass track using the Game Boy Advance internal synthesis. I set out researching the best homebrew Tracker/DAW for the console, and discovered that my ancient flash cartridge wasn't fully compatible with the majority of them. As a solution, I used a branch of LSDJ which maintained compatibility with the GoombaGB wrapper for GBA.

I opted for a harsh and bright industrial guitar style to compliment the harsh synth and percussion sampling of the GBA, which may sound familiar to older Revolver Project fans. All of the percussion and the majority of the synths were originally voiced using the GBA's internal synth and sample abilities. They were then heavily edited on a PC DAW, into the final sounds you hear. Notable exceptions include some bass sounds, which were created using a semi-modular Behringer Neutron.

I hope after listening to this, you'll be inspired to fire up a GBA and play your favorite Metroid or maybe a racer. Just remember to turn a light on if you're playing on an original model, don't let that LCD stay dark. ☻

Artist Notes: AI was pretty much the perfect match for me, as we’ve worked together many times in the past and we always seem to be on the same wavelength. In fact, he suggested “neon lights and cyberpunk” for the theme of the piece after I had already started drawing just that. Other than that, it’s pretty much just a fast-paced super-foreshortened actiony sci-fi piece. The guy is just a random cyberpunk dude I made up, and the drones are supposed to kinda look like metroids.

VI. ADVENTURE'S END | Music by Monstrman | Acrylic Art by nyankat

Musician Notes: I wanted to make a song that really captured the finality of finishing a game on the GBA. In reality it’s more about the experience of completing all your games in general, but since it’s GBA themed I added some flavor. The intro/outro was written on my guitar first, then I made the rest in my DAW.

Artist Notes: Acrylic on canvas, 8 in. x 8 in. I listened to a very early draft of Tim’s piece, which reminded me of the ending screen of Mega Man 2, where he walks away through different landscapes. This evolved into the piece it is now, with a person facing away from the viewer with a guitar over his back, next to a GBA set on a table and showing the message “Thank you!” I’m not particularly strong in figure drawing, so I asked Tim to pose as a reference, and I think that turned out quite well. I also asked him if he wanted the GBA or the curtains a specific color: The GBA is silver like the one he had growing up, and the curtains are OG GBA blurple. Thank you for the collaboration, Tim!

and this au kinda spawned my whole insane sprawling "how i imagine the warrior cats stories" alternate universe version of the books in my head ig. Petalkit's Shadow and some of the stuff that follows after (Pinestar's choice era) is the most canon divergent, whereas everything from Goosefeather's Curse onwards is more... Vanilla Plus I'd say? where I'm just tweaking stuff, adding in extra lore/characterization to help make the story work a little better. I prefer my "rewrites" that way, because for me it's fun to try and make all the insane information in the wc universe Make Sense.

GET HIS ASS! GET! HIS! ASS!!! Soooo yeah, this hypothetical popped into my head a while back as a result of remembering something completely unrelated in both property and tonal mood, and I guess I just wanted to see the Vessels get some well-earned cathartic retribution over their terrible father. I'm thinking maybe I should've had the light source at PK's back rather than his front due to the nature of Void, but this felt more natural even while dealing with a substance that doesn't seem to follow the rules of nature hehe. Also I kinda threw things at the wall to see what stuck with regards to PK's outfit alterations in order to give him a pose that involved arms, but I feel like it didn't work quite as well as I thought it would. If anyone wants to throw some pointers about my minor alterations feel free, though idk if I'd wanna draw him often enough to justify putting together a proper reference XD

...as for what the inspiration was, it was this specific moment from the Decemberween special of Teen Girl Squad that I have been singing to myself the entire time I've been working on this thing:

But as far as the dynamic goes, its definitely a rarity. I've read a lot of fics and while I love them all, most of them always portray the Pale King as reserved, distant, and often cold to most around him. But I like the idea that he's blunt, intrusive, and inquisitive, because he's a higher being. Who's going to correct him? Not a lot now, and and absolutely no one when he was full sized. And he cares because... biology. But that's foreshadowing so I am going to stop myself there :D

For Hollow, I always interpreted their leaving as an unwilling/unknowing separation from their siblings. Mainly because it feels more impactful that way. At least to me. That way, when growing up, they are in a constant battle between wanting to save innocent lives, or to find a way back to their family.

I do have a written fic that explains a little more about the world and about the Pale King's feelings/motives on the situation along with kinda explaining what the #%&*@ happened in chapter 5. But I haven't quite convinced myself that it doesn't need to be perfect like I have with the comic. Not helped by the fact its technically chapter 4.5, and I'm currently on chapter 13. And I haven't written its followup. And I have a lot of other ideas for one offs and character bios. Essentially boiling down to me being a hot mess with no attention span and bad social skills.

The headcanon's purpose: my personal thoughts on how Starmen show robotic characteristics such as their speech patterns, yet are not affected by things like the Rust Promoter item in Mother 2 (item that damages mechanical enemies) or how PK Beam damages them (yet doesn't affect mechanical enemies in Mother 1)

The headcanon proper: they kinda are bio-mechanical, with like brains inside a nice little pod in the chest to serve as their brains. And yes, these brains, which the majority would belong to whatever original species the Starmen once were, may include other species in their ranks. Including abducted humans. They may also be brainwashed to serve Giegue/Giygas, at least for those that were once humans.

Open up a Starman and you'd find organs comprised of a perfect blend of meat and synthetic material, minus the brain pod. The brain pod can be detached and there's a little hole in it for another starman to stick their wiggly arm tentacles in to activate a temporary life support feature to put the brain in a new body

Imagine conducting an interview by grabbing a brain pod that had life support switched on, and somehow connecting that shit to your computer, and the response to "what is your name?" is something like "my name is fra- fr- my code number is #5301278." Bits of the old memory that were suppressed by alien mental reprogramming leak through until the brain's new self of sorts kicks in and replies in a Starman-esque fashion.

Thats so cool!!! In a way that could have more horrifying implications that the starmen’s very existence inspired what King P would do to the animals and Claus.

That could also have more implied things like Pokey going through different timelines, not caring about the consequences bc he’ll just warp out of the timeline, and just disassembling living creatures, like the starmen for no reason except curiosity.

“What would be really cool if i added it to my super soldier? These animal parts, these robot parts, these ALIEN parts, oh! and its gotta be psychic too! just like Ness was.”

Somewhere in the infinite vast universe, there are corpses lying around completely dissected with no trace of the culprit.
