Before the storm hits, there’s the quiet. The first warning sign is always the electricity in the air, making your hair stand on end.

When Rita returns to her dorm that night, her warning sign was that Bella was sitting perfectly still on her bed. Legs crossed one over the other, graceful, like the Black she is.

“How was your day?” Rita asks, kicking the door shut behind her and shrugging off her robe.

She’s met with silence as she drapes her robe over her desk chair, and moves towards Bella. Rita stops abruptly when she spots the folder sitting in Bella’s lap.

She knows that folder. She’s been working on it for months. Bella now knows that too.

“You’ve been writing a piece on my family? Are you fucked in the head?” Bella demands, standing. The emerald folder falls off her lap and falls onto the floor, the contents spilling out.

“Bells-“

Without looking, Bellatrix incendios the folder with her wand. She then points it menacingly at Rita. “Don’t.”

“I was offered a really good-“

Bellatrix shoots a stinging hex at her, cutting off the rest of her sentence. “You’re a cunt.”

Rita feels the rage bubbling up inside of her. She knows for a fact that Bellatrix would’ve also taken the deal. “And you’re a crazy bitch.”

Bellatrix is explosive when angry. Rita knows this, just by watching her. But she’s never had the explosion blow up in her face, and she’s not prepared for the lightning to strike.

And I know it’s work! There is no switch to flip that takes you magically from self-hatred, self-denial, insecurity, and depression to self-love, self care, gentleness, and joy! It takes work and, for many people, seeking outside help! But it’s worth it worth it worth it, not just for you, but for everyone around you.

i love that neil is canonically 5’3. like it’s easy to forget that he is also pretty small because of how much freaking aura this kid has in every room he walks into. i always forget that he’s literally like. he’s a short king. andrew’s known as the “tiny” goalkeeper but neil isn’t that much taller. yet he has insane presence so you kind of don’t even notice most of the time. and i love that he leans into things like his speed, his endurance, his agility when playing exy in line with this, as opposed to strength/size. it makes me love him even more.
