Okay, two things stick out to me here.

Blacksmith is voiced by Kimlinh Tran, who (according to Wikipedia) also voices Mikasa fucking Ackerman, among other things.

Way more importantly, Miles is voicing "Rusted Knight / Jaune"

Considering the Tiny Weiss/Blake/Yang thing last week, this might actually be significant. Jaune still is himself, but he's also the Rusted Knight in an equal way. It's not that the Rusted Knight completely took over Jaune, its that Rusted Knight = Jaune.

Actually, considering the timeline shenanigans going on, it could very well be possible that Jaune was the Rusted Knight that met Alyx.

Suri was raised in the Dornkitiya House, one of the most influential houses throughout The Bannarai Republic, her father is a politician and her mother is a judge. She has over several brothers and sisters, all who have very good careers. All except for her, Suri was always the mischievous problem child. Suri did not have a good relationship with her father at all. Her father was a traditionalist guy who would beat his children with rods if they did anything to upset him, he used the rod on Suri multiple times. Each time, Suri would give back a sarcastic or comedic remark rather than crying, and this would only make him spew out such horrible things saying that she was a disgrace to the household. As Suri grew older she realized that she was a transwoman and went through her sex change operation awake without the use of anesthesia or painkillers. She did this after her father called her a coward and decided to do this as a way to show him she wasn't. In the past, transfem Bannarai would do this kind of surgery awake to test their endurance, she went through with it, but her father just thought she was stupid. As soon as she was able to, she stole a ship and left the Republic. News of Suri stealing a ship had a negative effect on her father’s career and he vowed to kill her if she ever returned. Through her travels, she became a pirate and a treasure hunter and eventually crossed paths with Lellain. She came to see him as a little brother and later on as a romantic partner. Suri went out of her way to do things for him, she stole money to give him his top surgery, she bailed him out of problematic situations, and they both got arrested by the Jithran Guards together. In fact, Suri was one of the criminals who staged a jailbreak and stole the prototype prison ship which would then be came to be called The Falaina, their group eventually became The Jade Owls. Suri is currently the pilot of the ship and the real head of The Jade Owls, even putting Miri and Haerile in their places.

Personality

Suri is very anti-authoritarian, rebellious, stubborn and mischievous. She also has a brash, free-spirited, sassy, quick-witted, and confident streak about herself, being one of those people who spits in the face of danger. Suri also has a big mouth, often making chide or sarcastic comments to her teammates whenever they act out against each other, and she has a tendency to become ferociously angry when her limits are pushed.

Miscellaneous

Suri speaks with an accent which, to Human ears, sounds a bit like Korean (like the culinary YouTuber, Maangchi).

She has the power to use Cryokinesis, which is like a cross between Hydrokinesis and Psychokinesis, and gives the user to control ice, snow, and frozen water. She can form weapons made of ice, send a ray of ice toward her opponents to temporarily freeze them, she can also generate ice from her hands, freeze or cool water, and use ice breath.

Suri has a history with Lan Tha, one of the Jade Owls’ enemies, she absolutely refuses to discuss it, even with Lellain. She can become a bit…aggressive when you don’t drop the subject. She REALLY doesn’t want to talk about her past with them. Don’t even think of pressuring her into doing so.

Suri thinks Russell is a cutie-pie and likes to mess around with him, but in a teasing way. She will occasionally nose-boop him, hug him, even lick his face. She does it for fun and not for anything malicious.

She is the third oldest member of The Jade Owls behind Itzapa and Derrick.

She is the shortest member of The Jade Owls, measuring at 4’3.

Suri does not like being around other Bannarai and has a deep loathing for Bannarai Culture seeing it as restrictive. Bannarai culture emphasizes conformity and social harmony above all else and there is a great pressure on children to perform to their best and conform to the aspects of Bannarai society. If you don't act like everyone else you are shunned. Suri absolutely hated growing up in this environment. In addition she finds other Bannarai boring and uninteresting.

Like all Bannarai she has the ability to use Nightmare Eyes, meaning she can make her pupils glow.

Personality

Peggy is a hardworking and adventurous pirate, and while she may be a plunderer of the seas as with any pirate, she adheres to honor and does not tolerate disloyalty, greed, and disrespect. She’s an honest ghoul too, well as honest as a pirate can be that is. This leads to her to be at odds with her father, who treats the crew of the Scarlet Skull like garbage, is a notorious liar, and is overall immensely selfish. If there’s one thing she shares with her father; it’s ruthlessness towards those who incur her wrath, as well as those that have committed the above mentioned sins. She is also rather superstitious, as most pirates and sailors are.

Peggy’s first name is based on peg legs.

Her headcanon voice actress is Kimlinh Tran, who voiced Ms. Fortune from Skullgirls. With a more "piratey" accent of course.

Her birthday is April 1st, which is when “Creep from The Deep” was released. This makes her an Aries. Coincidentally this also makes her birthday April Fools Day.

Peggy’s pet is named after the sea shanty Santianna. Santianna is also an eel based on the cover of Creep from The Deep. Peggy despises Caspian because his avaricious personality reminds her of her father. To complicate matters, Caspian has an unreciprocated crush on her.

RWBY Volume 9 Spoiler-Filled Review [part 2]

Blake and Yang are not alone. There are various indications what Weiss may have a crush on Juane, in a ship known as Whiteknight, with Weiss laughing when Juane is surprised by his own voice in the final episode. In addition, some fans saw hints of romantic themes between Weiss and Rose, known as White Rose. Others claimed there was confirmation that Nuts and Dolts, the ship name of Penny Poledina and Ruby, is canon. As the Blacksmith/Tree (voiced by Kimlinh Tran) says in the final episode, real balance comes from love and patience to see things through. That is the case for any of these ships.

As it turns out, not only is Zech openly bisexual, as noted earlier, as mentioned at various conventions over the years, but so is Lindsay Jones, who voices Ruby, as she stated in July 2018. Additionally, Tran, who is of Vietnamese descent, identifies as non-binary, asexual, and as a demigirl. Otherwise, it was a bit funny to witness those on social media shipping Summer Rose (mother of Ruby) and Raven Brawnwen (mother of Yang), known as Rosebird, after a scene of them together in the final episode. Some even believed that both characters were in a romantic relationship at some point.

All in all, the story of RWBY Volume 9 could have been significantly improved if the volume had at least four more episodes, the length of Volume 8. Even so, the average run-time of the episodes was only slightly less than those in the previous volume. Possibly due to budgeting, many of the episodes seemed relatively short. Even worse, they have no subtitles because Crunchyroll incorrectly described them as "dubbed". Hopefully the latter is fixed soon and subtitles are added. On the other hand, the show's music remained strong thanks to the talents of vocalist and songwriter Casey Lee Williams, and others such as Martin Gonzalez.

Williams' music, and that of others, meshes well with the show's emphasis on horror. This includes terrifying creatures, actions of Neo, or the antics of the Curious Cat, when he turns on them, takes over Neo for its own ends, and is murdered in the final episode.

There are many possible avenues for RWBY Volume 10, which seems somewhat confirmed. If the volume does come to pass, there will be the return of those who never used the pathways to Vacuo, or fell into the Ever After. This includes Winter, Ren, Oscar, Salem, Cinder, Qrow, Robin, and some of the Ace Ops. As such, there will undoubtedly be reunions between the characters the volume, which may be the final volume of RWBY as a whole.

Although RWBY is not perfect, and could be improved, including with the addition of more Black and Brown characters, it stands out as a strong series for young adults. It comes at a time that many series, especially those produced and aired on Disney channels, are produced to entertain children. Hopefully, other mature animations such as Arcane, Invincible, Helluva Boss, and Hazbin Hotel, to name four prominent series, fill the void left after the end of RWBY's ninth volume.

The series will not be in a hiatus as Justice League x RWBY: Super Heroes and Huntsmen, Part 1 will be available on various platforms after April 25th. It will be followed by a second part this summer. I look forward to watching both films and highly recommend RWBY for the reasons mentioned in this review.

If I had to pick a voice for Bee, I would choose Ayako Kawasumi (Shenhe in Genshin Impact) for Japanese and Kimlinh Tran (Ms. Fortune in Skullgirls) for English.

So Kimlinh Tran (@hnilmik here on Tumblr) asked on Twitter for people to draw two of her characters from “Vorpalized!”, Arlene Channing and Rinehart, in their styles, based on the designs made by @burnishable

And I told myself... #drawthisinyourstyle, huh? Why not? It’ll be interesting as a warm-up and a way to draw anything that isn’t Zodiac-related.

Pokémon the Movie: Secrets of the Jungle (2020)

I mean, it's no Kangaskhan Kid, but it's alright I guess. I liked the bit where the big angry hippie Klingon monkeys led the Pokemon in a haka.

March ‘17 has been an incredible month for alumni of Dust: An Elysian Tail’s voice cast! I couldn’t be prouder of all these amazingly talented folks.

Lucien Dodge actually filled in for some of Hugh Jackman’s additional grunts and screams in the blockbuster film, “Logan”. Yeah. Dust is secretly Wolverine.

Comic dub of an Overwatch fancomic by @artbytesslyn​ - featuring the voices of @totalspiffage​, Elsie Lovelock, Tiana Camacho, @hnilmik​ and myself!

So hey! It's been a while since we last Overwatch AWNN'd. We should maybe talk about that some time; but for right now, let's talk about this little bit of theater that is a partial adaptation of the third part of the on-going Ghost series! Basically, Tesslyn approached me to do this comic dub, the rest of the cast was on board for dubbing it, and so here we are now with another part of this unfolding mystery and conspiracy. A conspi-tery, if you will! Well, maybe not. Widowmaker and Reaper sure have the best conversations about death/dying and finding comfort in the ever-dwindling number of heartbeats that separate them from a permanent residence in the cold earth. What a cheery pair of pals they are! Also, for everybody who commented on previous videos with "But what about Moira?" as a key vector for why Reaper and Widowmaker are the way they are: WELL LOOKEE HERE SUM! What a most delicious reveal, indeed.

Anyway, sorry about the Overwatch AWNN not happening nearly as often as it once did, but we've all been doing quite a bit of stuff besides! The clip section showed some of that, but I thought I'd go indepth with some of it. For example, Kimlinh Tran's performance as Louis in Ghost Giant is absolutely phenomenal! It's a very cute and sweet game, but it also deals with depression and how children aren't necessarily emotionally equipped to deal with that, and the lengths they'll go to in order to make things "normal" again.

Tamara Fritz getting to voice a character in Warframe is a pretty big deal, and she was actually a guest of honor at this year's TennoCon (a con for all things Warframe) so that's a wonderful recognition of her skills and experience! Tiana Camacho is pretty much a household name for voiceover work at this point; she's popping up in all sorts of places, and the clipshow I have here is but just a small sample of the everything she's been doing (and will do oooOOOOooooh)! And I don't think I even need to say anything about what Kira Buckland has done, because you probably already know it; but just in case, a couple of highlights: NieR:Automata, Kakegurui, Violet Evergarden, Octopath Traveler, and The VeggieTales Show (!) to name a few!

Natalie van Sistine is the voice of Emily in the Overwatch AWNN series, so hearing her voice Black Widow in DEATH BATTLE! Black Widow VS Widowmaker is absolutely hilarious; the layers of meta on that are absolutely delicious, because this basically means that Tracer has TWO deadly assassin girlfriends, she just doesn't know it yet. Elsie Lovelock is the singing voice for Charlie for the upcoming animated series Hazbin Hotel, and you should definitely check out the trailer for that if you haven't already (IT'S GORGEOUS) and then consume everything related to it, pretty much!

Finally there's me, Edwyn Tiong, what did several voices for Unavowed! The game got nominated for several awards, including Excellence in Narrative for the 2019 Independent Games Festival, and won Best Acting from Adventure Gamers for the 2018 Aggie Awards! So that's all pretty cool. "I played a face-eating demon in an IGF-nominated game" is a factual statement that I can say proudly! I'm also still working on Freedom Planet 2 in the writing department so that's a thing I'm doing as well!

So yeah, that's what's been happening with us right now. Will there be more Overwatch AWNN after this? MAYBE. Who can say?
