Wait you voiced a character in Dust: An Elysian Tail?

I just started playing that game a couple days ago lol

I didn't actually voice anyone in the game itself, but I DID spend nearly 2 years hiring and directing all of the actors, so you'll find some of my influence in every single character! They're all my precious babies. Yes, even those ones.

Dust: An Elysian Tail will always be extremely important to me, so I hope you enjoy it a lot!

My voice can actually be heard as all the monsters in this comic that was clearly created to promote the Nintendo Switch version.

Hi Deven , I was wondering if you could answer this question for me :

In Ninjago, when there's a dialog between two characters who share the same voice actor, are the voices recorded separately, or consecutively ? The season 2 DVD bonus shows the cast recording together, so I really wanted to know if it was the same.

Good question!

This one depends entirely on an actor's comfort with switching back and forth, along with a voice director's trust in them to do so.

I'm not sure about my Ninjago co-stars. Because I record most episodes from home over Zoom, I'm not always able to see exactly who's in the room voicing what. Whenever I voice more than one character in a scene though, I do always ask to do the back-and-forth and have conversations with myself!

I was always more interested in exploring characters outside of TOME's sci-fi element, so I was glad that Rockoon's experience with the virus stayed fairly minimal. I wouldn't have wanted it to psychologically traumatize him and it still accomplished two major things that drove his development:

- Separated him from Doubling, bringing out his bitter loneliness and desperation to be validated.

- Showcased the caring nature he'd buried beneath all his misery. He legitimately didn't want anyone else to get hurt by it.

I did always like the idea of Nylocke and Rockoon interacting. They have parallels as sad people who are deeply committed to their fictitious personas. Rocky just didn't intend on using his to help him make any friends.

I saw this drawing of a Sonic O.C. created by Julia Kaye on tumblr and thought it was hilarious. Then I saw that Sonic Prime voice actor Deven Mack himself voiced a line-read!

So of course I had to do the next best thing and animate it!

I remembered reading this article in the TV Tropes thing for Sonic Prime, and this is what they have written for the final episode, about I think the same scene you mentioned in your post! 🤩

I've often said that Tails is my favorite Sonic character and Nine is my favorite "Tails", whom I deeply relate to. It means a lot to me that my first career award is largely driven by emotional connection with him. While Sonic in Prime was often written as a silly guy who fell down a lot, those comforting, caring moments are the ones I cherish most and how I really wanted to leave my mark on the character.

Even if I never get to do it again in an official capacity, I'll always be grateful and extremely satisfied that I got to do it at all, and that my work was able to resonate with others such as yourself. 💙

19 years into my career, I finally won my first ever award from ACTRA Toronto for voicing Sonic the Hedgehog in the final episode of Sonic Prime.
