Resisting the truth

The concept of soulmates wasn’t something Klaus believed in. A ridiculous theory really.

And when people claimed to have had them he took pleasure in killing one just to watch the other crumble at the sight.

Even when Rebekah insisted that Marcel was hers, he wouldn’t let them be together. It was a stupid idea and he wouldn’t condone it.

He didn’t believe it in any respect.

So when he felt that odd pull, well he didn’t know how to respond.

Looking at her, he didn’t understand. She wad his type yes but from what he could tell she was only a vampire, she couldn’t have been a witch. So he didn’t know where the pull was coming from.

Even in Alarics body he could feel it. At first he thought the teachers body was attached to her but then he bumped into her in his own form and the attraction was even stronger.

Klaus didn’t like new things and didn’t like feeling things but he also knew if he killed her now then the bloody Salvatores would retaliate and most likely would grab their precious doppelgänger and run. So he left her be but kept a close eye on her.

Following her when he got the chance and learning things about her while trying to find out what kind of trick she was playing on him. She was meant to have been used for the sacrifice, first Caroline replaced her and then Jenna.

And then once he left Mystic Falls with his good friend Stefan, for whatever reason, all he could thing about was her.

Countless dreams haunted him and the urge to draw her face was driving him close to insanity. To begin with he thought perhaps killing her was the best option and then Stefan had to go find Klaus’ stash of sketches of his dear friend Y/n’s face and decided to tell Klaus all about her.

And somehow, hearing about her made him feel less crazy. He found himself asking pointless questions and listening to stories from Stefan. Until of course one of them realised that they were talking about her a little too much and they both awkwardly avoided the topic.

Having her walk straight into him yet again at senior prank night only made his thoughts worse. He loathed how his body reacted so quickly to her, just one inhale of her freshly washed hair and his dick was pressing up against his jeans. His hand grabbed both her arm and the doppelgänger’s before dragging them both back to the main hall. He proceeded with his plan as normal with minimal glances to the girl although he could feel her eyes on him the entire time.

He was entirely unaware she could feel the bond just as well. But she was less cautious about it, she was a teenager and experiencing new feelings. Ones she didn’t understand but she wasn’t a paranoid control freak so she leaned toward the feeling rather than away.

In fact she even followed him occasionally. When she had nothing better to do and wasn’t needed by the group, she tried to dig into his persona. But he was a difficult man to pick apart and she often just went back home when she got bored.

Sometimes she tried to talk to him, or just smile at him but he wasn’t the easiest to communicate with unless he was running the conversation. And she often felt like she was just annoying him so she tried to leave him alone but something just kept leading her back to him and she found it easier to go with it than resist it.

He found her a bit of a nuisance but at least she was a pretty one. And the more she was around him the more he warmed to her. The more beautiful he found her and the dirtier his dreams got.

Eventually he couldn’t handle the amount of time he was spending fucking his own hand and made his way to a witch formation. Only to be faced with the impossible truth.

And then he saw her in a different light. She had both a target on her own back and his back. So he did the one thing he knew how to do really well, push her away.

And god did he push hard. Ignored everything she did or said, avoided her like the plague.

He assumed she had a silly little crush on him and nothing more but he didn’t know she was taking the rejection of the bond so harshly.

Being a vampire it was massively increased and quite frankly it was soul destroying.

He didn’t see the way her skin was greying;the emptying of her eyes. He wasn’t there to see how her mother had to cradle her in bed like she were a small child again. The look in Caroline’s eyes as she tried to get her sister to be excited for their birthday.

What was even more cruel was Klaus coming over to her house to heal Caroline without even checking on her. Giving her twin sister a birthday present but not her? He never spoke to Caroline before, how could they possibly have formed a better friendship than them?

Had she entirely misread everything? Had he not smiled at her with that same look in his eye? Had he not initiated flirtatious interactions and inched closer to her?

She didn’t feel the hunger she used to feel for blood, almost as though it weren’t appetising at all any more. Repulsive even.

Caroline worried beyond relief as she witnessed her sister fading right before her. Stefan and Damon couldn’t get her to eat, Elena and Bonnie couldn’t entertain enough to get her out of bed, nothing was working.

Not until Bonnie offered to do a spell, with Liz’s reluctant permission she performed it to find what was wrong. And the answer both shocked the group and sort of made sense. They had all noticed at some point the strange need they had for each other. But through Damons research in the past when he believed Katherine was his soulmate, he knew what the ultimate result of a rejected mate could be. And as much as he hated Klaus, y/n was like a little sister to him and if she needed him for a little bit then he would push back his revenge for a moment. Plus it would put him in Elena’s good books and Liz’s.

So he let Caroline go and beg Klaus to save her sister.

Klaus wasn’t sure how to respond when Caroline came in with a white oak stake held to his chest while she yelled every offensive word she could at him. He had her by the throat quickly, throwing her off and to a wall but she was straight back at him. Screaming at him asking how he could have done this.

And after a very long back and forth argument, he realised what he was doing to the Forbes girl. But he wasn’t exactly sure how to react.

He knew he was no good for her, he would only be the cause of her death but apparently he would be that anyway. Which he found to be ridiculous but whatever.

But the second Elena let it slip to Rebekah that her brother had a soulmate, she had him by the hair dragging him to the Forbes residence and forcing him inside. Caroline and Liz left the house and Locke them in, despite Klaus being able to break it down.

While in there he couldn’t help but feel the forceful tug towards her room. Her heartbeat was so weak and her scent was fading. He tried to resist the pull like he had forced himself to for so long but hearing her pain filled whimpers as she shifted onto her side had his leg bouncing. Her dry coughs and groans had his teeth biting at the skin around his fingers and finally when she gave a cry out for her sister he got up to go and see her.

His heart hurt seeing her halfway desiccated and he reluctantly came to sit at the edge of the bed. Her eyes were heavy as she peeked up at him, her brows furrowing before a sadness filled her

“Are you here to kill me now?” She rasped and he frowned

“No my dear, no I won’t be killing you” he whispered, he felt bad now that hr had considered doing so in the past but better knowing that he no longer desired to.

“Why not?” She asked confused “you don’t want a soulmate…” she trailed but neither of them said anything because they both knew she was right, he never had wanted a soulmate.

She nodded weakly, sighed softly and relaxed back against the bed. He hesitantly shifted further into the bed, gently pulling her a little closer so her head lay on his lap.

Slowly he brought his fingers to her hair, just gently stroking her as he silently went over his options, wondering what was truly best for each of them in this scenario.

Would she really be better of with him as a soulmate?

misogynistic scumbag. theres also a few different times that dean finds teenagers sexy with the most recent and prominent example that i can recall being the scooby doo crossover episode in season 13 where hes super into daphne who in the version they chose for the episode is 15-16 and is interacting with her as if shes a real person cause they got magicked into the episode. he treats everyone around him like shit and the only time the narrative agrees that thats a bad thing is when he has the mark of cain put on him and hes acting no differently than he does usually its just now acknowledged that hes treating others like shit. ive been rewatching the show for shits and giggles with a friend and wow he really does not treat anyone well but i wanna focus on how he treats sam for a second cause dude's hobby seems to be ignoring what his brother wants and lying to sam about doing stuff that directly concerns him the demon blood and souless things are reasonable cause those were both Bad for sam but theyre still part of a wider pattern and the most prominent example of this being when dean tricks sam into letting gadreel possess him and actually gaslights sam about it with the whole ordeal ending when its revealed gadreel lied about who he was and while possessing sam murders a friend of theirs. his voice is just also stupid as fuck im sorry this is just petty but he just sounds like hes trying so hard to be gruff n intimidating but he just sounds like a kid pretending to be batman

Dean’s list of sins is crazy long because of how long the show ran, but the key thing for me is that post-locking Sam in the bunker (season 4 I think?), I just can’t enjoy their relationship anymore. I normally love their sibling dynamic, but Dean’s ultimate worst past-the-point-of-no-return moment for me was demonizing (pun intended) his little brother for being “addicted” to demon blood, which only happened because of a series of events that were either Dean’s or someone else’s fault, not Sam’s. I also really dislike how the fandom treats Dean like this angel (pun intended) who has done no wrong and even tries to justify the MULTIPLE times he’s beaten up and otherwise abused his little brother. Canon Dean is like the polar opposite of fanon Dean: he’s homophobic and racist (jokes about a Black man being sexually assaulted in prison), misogynistic (take a shot every time he calls a woman a slur and you’ll die of alcohol poisoning), and abusive.

Max's comment about the vaccine poster "The last time I got the flu shot, I got the flu. Fuck you!" is so made fun of that it's become the "Max is anti-vaxx!" joke, but yeah, that has aged even more badly since COVID.

In all seriousness, I don't think Nathan telling Max, "now get out of my face, d*ke!" in Chaos Theory was necessary. Assholes gonna asshole, but Max was neither out nor really aware of her queerness, and she wasn't overtly flirty with Chloe in Nathan's presence or presented as stereotypically butch. Nathan's name-calling felt more out of left field because he didn't have much to go off of, rather than something like "get out of my face, nosy (insert nasty name here)" or whatever.

BtS:

What I think is the most egregious example: Rachel (with Chloe as an accomplice) literally drugging Victoria to unconsciousness to get her role in the play back. That is in wildly and insanely bad taste when the first game's involved Jefferson illegally drugging and kidnapping teenage girls, and how Rachel herself fucking died. It's barely covered up with a sapphic-coded moment Victoria calling Rachel pretty, but the fact that it's framed as funny at all is batshit crazy.

Also, how Nathan and Frank's characters are softened so they can be almost buddy-buddy with Chloe, when Nathan can literally kill her three years later. Also, D9 actually animated Frank checking out a 15-year-old Rachel for a second in "Hell is Empty" 🤢

D9 sorta shot themselves in the foot by framing Chloe in a more sympathetic light in this game (Chloe attempting to reach out but getting increasingly ghosted, Chloe missing Max so much in-game) after how the narrative treats her in DE...

LiS2:

So ironically, because Trump-era racism is still alive and unfortunately more relevant than ever again, the racism depicted in LiS2 is now being brought up by fans as "ahead of its time." Cassidy and Finn's dreads were already a bad move in 2019, though. I do think what will age badly are the explicit uses of slurs: Brett calling Daniel the r-word, Hank (and later Chad in ep4) calling Sean a racial slur, and Nicholas calling Jacob a homophobic slur.

I don't think the Blood Brothers ending has aged well. It feels so bizarre and backwards that Sean and Daniel spend the whole game trying to clear their names and escape to a life in Mexico where they intend to live peacefully... but then the BB ending has them stealing money and involved in gang crime. It's such a disappointingly shallow, stereotypical depiction of Mexico. I also don't like how low morality Daniel becomes such a cold murder machine given how normal and stable his upbringing was.

Daniel should've been obsessed with Fortnite, not Minecraft /j

I wouldn't say aged badly like "became problematic" but with time, the game's relentlessly optimistic tone has led to a less memorable product. Actually, everyone in the game is so cheerful and sanitized that I can't really think of any truly problematic things from the games besides some off-screen events like Alex and Isaac. In 2021, I loved TC's persistent themes of hope and looking to the future and I think it fit with Alex's character arc of grief and learning to identify her own emotional needs. Narratively though, Alex's grief felt a bit too neat and tidy and it makes for a less compelling story upon replay. Trauma can manifest in irrational, ugly, hurtful ways, and I think D9 could've afforded to make Alex, Steph, Ryan, and Gabe a little rougher around the edges.

Sidney Prescott, the "girlfriend" of Billy Loomis,Y/n L/n, the girl both boys were deeply obsessed with, and Gale weathers, a news reporter, where 3 of 5 witnesses that were willing to talk and tell their sides of the story to the public while Dewy Riley, the deputy sheriff of woodsboro, and tennager Randy Meeks refused to talk to law enforcements at the time. All the stories told to law enforcement seem to differ from person to person, but...in this tale, we will focus on Y/n, the obsessions, side of the story...

It was late August, 1996, when a new face showed up at Woodsboro high school. A face that showed both beauty and grace, a face of innocence and tenderness.

The girl became an attraction for all the teens. They'd ask her where she was from, what car she drove, if her mom was hot, and anything else their simple minded brains could think of.

“Hey look! It's the new girl” Tatum Riley whispered to her friend, Sidney Prescott. 

“She finally not swarmed for once” Randy Meeks said with a side smirk as he chimed in on Tatums and Sidney’s conversation. “Let's go say hi Sid” Tatum added, ignoring Randy. 

Tatum stood from her place beside Stu Macher  and started walking, not waiting for Sidney. “I'll be back” Sidney said quietly with a small smile as she looked at her boyfriend, Billy Loomis. Billy flashed a small fake smile to Sidney.

“Alright, be quick now Sid” he whispered as Sidney jogged to catch up with Tatum. Tatum walked quickly walked up to the new girl who sat alone on the outside bench, writing in a notebook. “Heyyy new girl” Tatum said, the words dripping off her tongue like honey.  

The new girl lifted her head and looked at Tatum and Sidney with a shy smile. “Hi” she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

“You're quite the topic around here! Everyone seems to love you” Tatum added as she sat beside the girl, Sidney slowly sat down after. “I am?” The girl whispered. “YES! You're all everyone talks about! You seem like a cool person. I'm Tatum..Tatum Riley and this is Sidney, Sidney Prescott.” Tatum said as she held out her slender hand to the girl.

“Im Y/n, Y/n L/n” Y/n said as she took Tatums hand and shook it, then held her hand out to Sidney, who took her hand and gave it a firm shake.

“So, Me, Sidney and a couple of other people are going to hang out later…you wanna join us? It'll be a good time for us to get to know each other” Tatum asked, raising one of her thin eyebrows.

Y/n sat there for a moment before smiling. “Um… if I wont be intruding on anything i'd love to go, i have nothing better to do” Y/n said. “Alright! Meet us at the park by…5:30..sound good?” Tatum said as she flashed a toothy smile. “Yeah sounds wonderful” “See ya there then! Come on Sid” and with that both girls walked off, saying goodbye to Y/n.

“Well that looked like it went well” Stu said as Tatum sat down next to him and Sidney sat down next to Billy.

“Yeah it went well..she's coming with us tonight” Sidney said as she played with the end of her shirt.

“Really?” Randy asked. “Yes you guys can meet her and we can all get to know her better. She seems like a good person” Tatum said as she put her hand on Stu’s thigh. “Alright then” “Sounds good to me” Both Billy and Stu said.

Y/n walked down the sidewalk, the cool night air gently brushing against her face as she walked. Y/n let her mind wonder as she walked. Maybe Sidney and Tatum actually wanted to get to know her other then keep her around till she's no longer the new girl.

Y/n had only moved to Woodsboro due to her best friend, Casey Becker, who convinced Y/n's father and mother to pack up their things and leave their old house for the much better one in Woodsboro. 

Y/n eventually stumbled upon the park that Tatum had told her to go too. Y/n looked around, her face dropping when she didn't see Tatum or Sidney …”did…did she lie to me?” Y/n asked herself. Y/n sighed, she thought she was either lied to, or left due to her being 7 minutes late, but when you have to deal with drunk parents, sneaking out of the house isn't easy.

“Y/N! OVER HERE” A female voice screeched out. Y/n turned her head to the left and saw Tatum waving her arms at Y/n, a smile painted on her lips.

Y/n smiled as she looked at Tatum, then Sidney, then three other guys who loomed around the girls. Y/n soon walked up to the group, all of those negative thoughts that swarmed around in her fragile mind left her brain. “Hi guys” She chirped out.

 “Heyy! Oh also this is Stu, my boyfriend, that's Randy, and that's Billy, Sidney's boyfriend” Tatum said, introducing all of the guys.  “Guys, this is Y/n the new girl” Tatum added, introducing Y/n for her. Y/n lifted her hand and gave a small wave to the guys. With that the group started to walk and talk.

I let out a giggle as Randy and Stu started joking around. For once, other than with Casey, I finally felt a part of something… a part of a friend group that wont use me for everything I have to offer. Everyone, even Billy, who was quiet and scary looking, was nice although he didn't say much to me.

As we walked I felt eyes staring into the back of my head. I felt a feeling rise in my gut, a feeling that made goosebump rise on my skin. I looked behind me and saw Billy, staring at me, and he didn't look away when I looked at him, he just locked eyes with me, his wide, dark brown eyes staring into my e/c eyes.

I flashed a nervous smile before looking away and joining back in on the conversation with Stu and Randy.

After a 10 minutes of walking and funny conversations we had made it to a Baskin-Robbins, the ice cream shop with 31 flavors...

This subject is fascinating. She appeared to us suddenly within the ruins of the documented showdown between Venom and the figure known as Bedman. However, she seems to have shown up on our radar as one of the late Bedman’s anti-matter gear bombs. Yet somehow, she still takes this form, a form that appears to be a simple teenage girl.

The subject is most recognizable by her appearance. Not by her vivid blue hair or sickly pale skin, but by the appearance of cat ears and a forked tail on her body. Due to this, her species is unknown. Her form is human, but she certainly isn’t one. At least not fully.

The subject, Hikari, appears to have no memories from before mid-2186. After much talking, she admitted that the earliest memory she had was waking up in the middle of a forest, surrounded by overgrown grass. She does not remember her own last name. No known family members. Hikari showcases many unstable behaviors, ranging from self-sacrificing behaviors to extreme mood swings. Most notable is her documented insomnia. She spends nights on end not sleeping, barely even letting herself take naps. We have observed her sleeping habits, and after witnessing her getting to sleep, she proceeded to wake up crying while sobbing Bedman’s name.

After much rehabilitation, the subject returned to a state of emotional stability, and was discharged from permanent surveillance after many requests from her. She has stated that she has a goal to complete.

I hate it when a show or a film has insane symbolism potential but does not touch it. Like. You have perfect metaphors. Perfect symbols. Perfect narrative echoes and ouroboros circles. But they are just lying there for me to go crazy about and not mean anything.

I hate to say it but vampire diaries is a great example of this. Because. Man. Maaaaan the symbols and metaphors you could pull out of that are insane but instead everyone just… talks. And this potential is why I like it.

It has interesting characters. Stephan turns into a vampire after fucking eating his own father. His own dad who shot him. His own dad who hated his own brother who hates Stephan for turning him into a vampire. Tell me this wouldn’t drive you crazy in any other fandom.

It has interesting plot devices and settings. Three doppelgängers quite literally haunting the vampires. Stephan who falls in love with Elena because she looks like Katharine who Stephan loved and who also turned him and who also looks like Amara whose blood cursed the first vampires. And Stephan is hardwired to love her doppelgängers but the “first”doppelgänger is the reason why he suffers with his vampirism and also the reason why he can’t be with Elena, who he is still hardwired to love. This is insane if you turn it into a narrative metaphor, instead of it remaining simply a part of the plot.

It has great character dynamics, enhanced by the fact that vampires live forever. Stephan, being the compassionate and kind person that he was, goes off the deep end and rips people’s heads off as a vampire, which is why he doesn’t feed, turning his base nature into a ticking bomb. Damon, on the other hand, being the cold and uncaring brother, does not have the problem of ripper-ism. Unlike Stephan, he treats people like blood bags, however that lack of inner constraint prevents him from giving in to temptation and going on killing sprees the way Stephan does. Who is better? Come on, the complex questions that the narrative could ask with this duet are making me vibrate a bit. Instead they are there, ignored by the narrative.

And I get why. The target audience of the show is teenage girls and young women. The romance is a huge marketing goal and strategy, and the more controversial or consciously grim you make a show, the harder it becomes to market widely. So of course they would concentrate on the romance and make it easier to digest. Props to them for leaving all of that insanity in, at least.

I have to be honest with you, I still haven't watched the last episode bc I really got tired of their bullshit. I love the show and I really love the characters, but this season just wasn't it. I am gonna try and finish it today with hopes that they will end it in a decent way (I don't think so but whatever).

Parks and Rec anon again. I got a follow up relating to the last one. But first…

“the fellow agreed to the game and then blew up after losing, that’s still on him. He could’ve chosen not to participate and calling someone a bitch for beating you in a game is grounds to be punched by their husband iyam.”

I never thought of it in those terms, but that is a good point. So yeah, still agree he acted inappropriately

There’s a later episode that’s basically the same story, but this time Leslie has a mirror held up to her behavior, and it’s one my favorite moments.

Swing Vote. Ron has proposed shutting down the local mini golf to stop wasting tax payer money. Leslie loves places like this, so this means war. And in this episode she’s particularly grouchy, probably because the oppositon is from a close friend and colleague, even if it’s not the first time they’ve clashed. The deciding vote in the matter will be from good ol Jeremy Jamm.

She basically pulls the same routine as last time, inviting him out to a night of mini golf with lots of snacks and prizes, and losing deliberately to him to convey its value. She goes as far as to keep the teenage snow cone cart girl late into the night even though she has homework to do. Though she does whisper to her to keep up with schoolwork.

Ron shows up, predicting she was gonna pull a stunt like this, and calls out what’s obviously happening. He outright asks Jamm how he’ll vote, and he’s still undecided, so Jamm proposes the opponents play a game for his vote. Ron wins, and of course she’s a sore loser. And in a laughably petty sore loser move, Leslie snags the stuffed dragon he won as a result and gives it to a random kid.

But wait, even more pettiness! She puts a display gorilla from the mini golf in Ron’s office to say its blood is on his hands, and also that his principles are wrong. (This moment has one of my favorite Ron lines “You may think so, I do not.”) After that, Jamm pays her a visit to say she could still sway him. She points out he gave his word on the matter (a very serious thing for Ron), and Jamm says his word is garbage and he’s always open for swaying.

“Wow Jamm, even for you this is kinda low.”

“Oh don’t play so high and mighty, Leslie. You made a trade with me in a previous episode for something you wanted, and now you kept a teenager late to give me snow cones.” And then he says it, my favorite line of the episode beside’s Ron’s. “This is simply how people like us operate.”

And the look on her face is so damn satisfying! This is what she needed in the bowling episode!

She goes to Ron and rants about his code that drives her crazy and how mini golf got shut down, and only cuz she made Jamm stick to his word, though ofc she’s gonna fight to get it reopened. BUT she also admits to being at fault for the shut down (not in as many words, “twas Leslie killed the beast” I just assume she means her actions lead to the challenge she lost, losing Jamm’s vote, and thus the shut down. Jamm may have voted against it had she left things alone). And despite Ron’s code driving her crazy, it makes him someone she’s proud to have as a friend and she doesn’t want him to change.

It ends with something of a low note, with Leslie and Ron sharing a drink while she laments the crappy situations that her job entails, assuming it’d be more like dealing with Ron, who points out that there’s a lot of Jamms on the path she’s on and she needs to figure out if she relly wants to walk it.

It’s not quite a favorite episode, but it is a favorite resolution to a Leslie story. Her less than ethical and honest behavior gets called out, and it takes Jamm pointing it out and claiming their alike for her to fully realize it, she takes an L to get back on track^, admits fault, and alologizes to Ron for assigning him the blame while also reinforcing that she values who he is and his friendship.

^It may be a temporary L, since she’s gonna try and get the place reopened, but I don’t think we ever see or hear about it again. So it’s ambiguous as to whether she accomplishes that. I wouldn’t be surprised if she did, even years down the line, but I really like the idea that she may not have and just has to accept it.

Oh well yeah if that's your issue-that Leslie can be too intense and too laser focused on what she wants that she behaves rashly then...yeah!

That's her primary flaw. She has a hard time letting go when something is important to her, and there's multiple episodes about how she needs to get okay with things not going her way, or she needs to learn to compromise.

When most of your opponents are viscerally against positive changes or out to spite you for a personal vendetta like Leslie's often are, it's hard to hammer in the lesson that sometimes the opposition isn't doing something specifically to make things worse or to hurt you.

It's one of the reasons I like her I think that's a really interesting struggle for a character consistently trying to do the most good, and it's one of the reasons Ben and Ron are so important to her character.

summary of my new au but its not the well written coherent one so its just me normally talking and being not so normal

theres no happy ending here btw all ansgt. so basically! :3

eclair and roguefort cookie are born to a royal family in the kingdom known as Elixir. they're just these silly siblings born to a royal family, but eventually they get bored of the royal life yadda yadda, so at 4 am roguefort wakes up their brother and is like . "hey bitch U wanna run away?" and hes like "slayy ok!!!" so they put on hoods to stay mysterious and shits and run away! they also change their appearance a bit. so basically skip to the busy early morning in the town square and zoom in. theres two teenagers running around grabbing random stuff. they are having the time of their life seeing as they were never allowed out of castle bounds before this so they're HYPED. everyones looking for the two children that belong to the king, King Camembert!!! and they are just goinh absolutely silly. the sun begins to set and OH I FORGOT TO MENTION! the twins were born from a magical family but eclair was born without powers for some reason. anyways they giggle and goof off then run to the top of the roof of some building and they sit and talk. then they get into a bit of a tiff over Eclair being homesick and saying how he wants to go back home and this pissed off rogue so the tiff evolves into a full blown fucking fight and rogue starts throwing stuff with their magic and eventually they lose control and. whoop! eclair gets pushed off the rooftop and falls to the ground and. rogues like "well shit i just killed my brother in front of like 13 different townspeople" and starts freakinf out. so now rogue is wanted and accused of being a witch so they are on the run with eclairs blood on their hands and a criminal record ((mind you their identity is still unknown))

so king camembert is pissed of since his kids disappeared. but theres also a criminal on the run that actually fuckingkilled his son so he's going batshit crazy -- then rogue changes their appearance to avoid the drama and changes their name, now disguised as "brie cookie" and guess who they find while totally not being a wanted criminal on the run? this bitch named ALMOND COOKIE!!! and hes also this little teenage kid who is deeply traumatized and not having a good time and brie is like "hey girl are you good" and he's like "yourhoteannakiss i mean. wanna be my friend :3" and brie is like "wtf your deranged. okay!! bestie" so they go frolic in the fields and are absolute best friends. brie and almond do silly stuff like foster random animals, steal food for funsies stuff like that they do in books and shits. they falled in love

brie and almond are besties ofc. one day the go on a rooftop. that EXACT SAME ROOFTOP THAT BRIE WENT ON WITH THEIR BROTHER THEY MURDERED!!! and almond is FOCKEN clueless and then brie and almond are giggling like little kids and they do silly gamers stuff then go back to the floor to go and find a place to eepies again and brie judt goes. "hey bbg ihave a confession."

and almond nods curioudly then they reveal their identity and they go "im thst one bitch who killed eclair" and almonds like . shocked and hes like speechless and he gets all scareds and panics and rogue goes "WAIT NO STOP IM SORRYS IM NOT GONNS HURT YOU BBG" and then almond just watches as rogue is taken away by royal guards and tackled by townspeople since he has a fight flight or freeze instinct and he chooses freeze all the time. so rogue is gonna die and suddenly almond snaps out of it and starts to run after them in a panic . since his bff is a murderer but he doesnt care cause hes like. thats my bbg 😾

"YOU FOCKEN WITCH YOU ARE A DIFFERENT SPECIES I HATE YOUR KIND!!! >:(" all meansies and rogue just looks down and starts crying a bits . then he lights the torch and throws that bitch in and rogue starts burning. they csnt run because their tied up and they cant scream because it wont help. theres a crowd with pitchforks and torches calling them mean things like "witch" "freak" and "outcast" THEN SUDDENLY rogue looks up happily as much as they can and sees almond emerge from the crowd yelling and pleading they keep rogue/brie alive. but. hes too late. and that's the end :3

My Daenerys Stormborn-Targaryen Thoughts

Before I go ahead I feel like I should mention this won't be validating to people who hate her or the people who think she is on a quintessential hero-story. I still hope you read it and maybe get something out of it, and if you don't then don't be mean about it.

Peace, Ancestry and Victimhood

Something people overlook is how much grooming Daenerys has gone through, how she is still a young teenager, and as a result it has forced her to act through fire and blood. She's basically a child soldier. Despite that, her compassion, and desperate desire for peace has been in her. Negating that part of her is my least favourite thing to see from the people who hate her. Its a hallmark of her character, and to say that she doesn't care for the people of Mereen, Yunkai, and Astapor when GRRM had to expressly tell an artist that she wants to be on their level while she is ruling is disingenuous literary analysis. I am also firmly on the side of Daenerys killing the slavers is no indication of her as a villain. Her actions are in direct contradiction to her Valyrian ancestors, who introduced that very region to slavery. Her marrying Hizdhar, also negates the way Targaryens conquered Westeros and decided to marry amongst themselves as a preferred practise. In addition, Daenerys desires the Red Door in the Free City of Braavos, which was created by slaves who escaped Valyrian dragons by sea in the fog. All the more interesting when we are told how often Daenerys desires to escape by the sea.

The political turmoil around her led by male slavers, is not entirely her fault which people love to say, but it is her responsibility, which she does not take lightly. Daenerys is so desperate to stabilize the region but she does not know how because all the men around her except maybe Selmy do not view her as human. She's a dragoness, they want her to burn her enemies and shower them with riches and validation. Daenerys absolutely could be successful in her mission to end slavery if she were surrounded by the right people, but she never was.

I want to mention Daenerys, her namesake, and her parallels to other Targaryens. Another thing people mention is that of course she is crazy her family are the Targaryens, which is like, okay, but who are the actual Targaryens the text says she's like? The first Daenerys Targaryen, was Alysanne and Jaehaerys ' child, she was added later by GRRM. Elio Garcia said GRRM wanted to change the birth order of J and A's kids. This insertion is so interesting because Alysanne wanted her to be Queen, but Jaehaerys completely shot it down. The text showed every indication that she had the temperament and potential to be a great ruler, but circumstances dictated by men, and then the shivers destroyed her. The next Daenerys was used as a pawn for peace, but ended up being the face of a pointless war. Whether you believe Daemon Blackfyre and her were in love, (he had nine kids with another woman so I firmly believe it was not real love) he still idolized her with no regard to peace, or her own wishes as a person. Daenerys was adored by Dorne, and she started a tradition that let lowborn and highborn children play together in the Water Gardens. Daenerys Targaryen I is named after her by her mother Rhaella. Daenerys Targaryen-Martell's mother, Naerys Targaryen, is expressly said to have looked like the future Daenerys I. By all accounts, another gentle woman, with a desire for peace, and stripped of her agency by men around her. Though it might be a reach because they are separated by a few degrees, I also think her connection to Rhaena and Helaena Targaryen is worthy of note. Daenerys' dragons are the children of Dreamfyre.

When looking at the Targaryen ancestors she is actually connected to, the books drive the fact this is a girl that does not want to default to fire and blood. I think this is all the more harrowing because of how many times she is surrounded by it. Now, this stuff is uncomfortable for a lot of people. Especially if they are more familiar with show!Daenerys, who was absolutely victimized, but it was not shown to be internalized as much as canon Dany. People very much want to see a hero as her defining quality, and while she has heroism, the victimization as a part of her character takes a back seat. It's like the opposite of Sansa, where all people seem to see in Sansa is a victim, but never interrogate what her internal dialogue is actually saying as her character progresses. I think it's easy for people to lose the lost child she is in her action sequences.

Flights of Fancy, Stories, Violence, and Displacement

Knowing all of this background, and where things leave her in ADWD, I want to go back to her brother Viserys' role in abusing her, while also giving her the romantic tales of Westeros. In my opinion, GRRM really drills the fact that Westerosi romances, lead the characters astray, and prevent them from gaining any sort of growth or peace. I'm not going into any specifics about the characters because this is about Dany, but you can find tons of meta about this concerning: Rhaegar Targaryen, Sansa Stark, Jamie Lannister, Brienne of Tarth, etc... so its a repeated theme.

Everything Daenerys knows about Westeros is through her abusive brother. So when we have her alone (A Targaryen alone in this world is a terrible thing) and dreaming about Westeros' stone houses. This scene almost sinks into a sort of dream sequence delusion. Her greatest mistake is absolutely not her quest to free the slaves, and stabilize a region she has more in common with than Westeros, it will be her leaving it to a land she's never really known, with Viserys' direction in her head. Her time in Westeros will not be glorious, fulfilling, or give her a sense of home. Hence what I said in the beginning for people who are into the Targaryen restoration happy ending. Whether she'll burn King's Landing (I really don't think so at this point) or not, Westeros is not her home and it does not bode well for her true desire for peace.

Final Thoughts

I used to be in the Queen Daenerys I of the seven kingdoms camp when I read them when I was 16, then I changed my mind and thought she might go mad, and then after the show I changed my mind again because her madness was so contrived and to be honest it was boring to me. Wow another woman too crazy to rule things very unique guys. To be honest I don't know what GRRM has in store for her because she's always caught in this duality between peace and violence. What I do know is that she will not be some mad caricature villain in Westeros. But she will also be extremely displaced, and more alone than she ever was before. One last thing I will note is her comment while naming Viserion:

"Viserys was cruel and weak and frightened, yet he was my brother still. His dragon will do what he could not."

She believes in growing things, and whatever mistakes she might make, unforgivable, or not, I think she has a chance to grow into a really powerful, and peaceful woman like the other characters we talk about.

Last year I immagined what was essentialy a witch x vampire doomed toxic yuri. I know I won't probably do anything about this since I'm neigther an artist nor a writer, so I'm gonna share it here

Firstly, we are in a world where supernatural things exist (duh), but they're really good at hiding living by themself or in small communities in isolated places (except for few that for a reason of another decide to live in human society) so humans are unaware of they're existance

Our two protagonist are two lonely girls that meet for the first time in their teenage years in a forest

At first the witch was very cautious and fled everytime she ever so heard the human girl that showed up every day bc she was intrigued by this fleeing stranger. Eventually she found the witch and the witch warmed up to her and became friends with her against her better judgement. With time the fondness grew and what started of as curiosity leading to friendship became something more, and if the human girl was the happiest when she was with the witch bc she came from a small village where she didn't feel at home, the witch became always more conflicted about her feelings for the girl that became stronger and stronger bc she was afraid of the reaction the human girl might have if she found out she was a witch, would she try to kill her? Would she accept her? Would she decide to stop hanging out with her?

Unfortunately, she didn't get to confess her secret in time and the little happy bubble that they created was detroyed when the witch hunt began in the human girl's village. The human girl was accused of witchcraft and when the witch came to know about It she stormed there in a desperate rage and managed to retrive the burnt body of the girl

The witch couldn't stand the familiar loneliness from years ago that she was now feeling after the death of the girl she deeply loved, so the grief lead her to decide that she would bring her back to life, and, sfter countless failed attempts, she did it through a blood pact

But when the girl opened her eyes, something was different, the girl that once was human came back, but she wasn't human anymore, she re-awakened as a blood sucking creature that desperately craved her creator's blood

Dean’s list of sins is crazy long because of how long the show ran, but the key thing for me is that post-locking Sam in the bunker (season 4 I think?), I just can’t enjoy their relationship anymore. I normally love their sibling dynamic, but Dean’s ultimate worst past-the-point-of-no-return moment for me was demonizing (pun intended) his little brother for being “addicted” to demon blood, which only happened because of a series of events that were either Dean’s or someone else’s fault, not Sam’s. I also really dislike how the fandom treats Dean like this angel (pun intended) who has done no wrong and even tries to justify the MULTIPLE times he’s beaten up and otherwise abused his little brother. When I was a teenager all I did was fawn over boys, a lot of my friends would call me "boy crazy." I hated it, no one really understood that I was just wanting a human connection from someone other than family. I had friends and lost friends, that's what happens in high school. Well after graduation, most of my friend group drifted off and went to college. I stayed in my hometown and attended trade school... While doing so I had one friend that I grew up with attending with me. We'll call her Krissy, we were friends for many years. Her and I were inseparable, or so I thought. She had became a popular girl, who knew trade school had cliques. Well I decided I wanted to find a boyfriend. (the thought of this makes me sick, since I'm now married and I have a child). So I got on multiple dating sights and sought after "men". I was very self conscious, hated my appearance, but loved the attention. When I found the guy I thought I wanted to date. I was with this guy for a little over a year. We did everything together.... He was a couple years older than me, didn't have a car, could barely keep a job, and lived in his parents house. That wouldn't have bothered me if he didn't try to claim it as his own house until I finally met his family. He started getting into drugs, I was against it, but before I could do or say anything he broke up with me. I wasn't really sad, I was mad. Mad I spent all my time taking care of him, finding him jobs, lying to my family, and acting like he was better than he really was... You will see a pattern. Well I graduate trade school and start working with Krissy and we were doing just fine in our friendship, we hung out all the time, we both were striving and doing so well. I started noticing things off about her, she seemed like she was drinking on the job, strung out, and all around not a good person. Years of dealing with this and being around her, I distanced myself. Decided I wanted to get back out in the dating pool, turned out to be the worst/best decisions. I started to date this guy and for this post he will remain anonymous, Within the first week I should have seen the red flags, trying to make me leave my family, telling me we were going to get on a cellphone plan together, reading my texts from my parents, he made me call my mom and tell her I was moving in with him. Yes there were threats made with it, but I blocked that out of my memory. My relationships with friends and family continued to diminish. I never moved in with him, but I continued to date him. He had no job, lived in a sketchy neighbor hood, always told me about how he was in the military and made up a big lie about some top secret thing he did with them. He drained my accounts, all of my money I had been saving was gone within months of dating. I felt stuck, with no way out. He ended up threatening to kill me all the time, when I was at work he would sit at a table outside of my job (I worked in the mall) and watched me. If he saw me talking to other men, he would send me vulgar texts. Month's go by and I have to go in for a well woman exam, he forced me in to letting him go. My doctor never noticed anything wrong, except a couple days later I get a call from the nurse with blood results.... You guessed it, I was pregnant. The tears came streaming down. It really bothers me so much because like. Women are still underrepresented in media even now. And even if they weren’t, sexism is still a historical thing and the vast majority of media throughout history has centered around men. So even if women had more representation now it would still fail to catch up to the vast majority of male-centric media that already exists out there! I also agree about the lesbophobia and transmisogyny part because often wanting to erase female representation erases them as well. Which is no coincidence since lesbians and trans women are like the least “male-centric” group. Because lesbians don’t like men and trans women want to escape being assigned the label of “man” which the patriarchy detests. Which is why people always complain about characters being canon lesbians or even headcanoned as such, and why they always want to insist that trans female characters(Alluka and Snapdragon come to mind) are/should just be gender-fluid or feminine boys.

I remember in I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings by Maya Angelou, there was a chapter(page 75, if anyone’s wondering) where she talked about how she was ashamed of being a girl and wanted to be a boy for so long because she was an avid reader who constantly escaped into books and related to the heroic protagonists, but all the stories were about boys. And she felt like a failure who would never amount to anything no matter how smart, brave, and heroic she was because she was “just” a girl.

And like…? Point to ANY boy or man out there who has EVER felt that way from watching or reading media. Who has felt ashamed of being a boy because as a child all the stories they read had female protagonists doing amazing things. IT DOESN’T EXIST. The only people who complain about boys feeling ashamed to be boys because the media they like is too “woke” are whiny soccer moms and right-wing MRA men who are threatened by every work that doesn’t have five men for every woman and lets its female characters be more than just Smurfettes, girlfriends, and damsels in distress. Meanwhile their sons are just enjoying MLP and Ever After High with no problem.

Also even if the protagonist is male you will still see this complaint. Like with Steven Universe people whined and threw a hissy fit and complained that there “weren’t any male Gems”. There are! There’s Steven! Be content with that!

And also while I’m not in this fandom, I saw an AU of The Owl House where they made Hunter the main character instead of Luz and made Amity straight to be his love interest which BOILS my blood beyond belief.

And yeah those idiots making AUs of Jennifer’s Body with men in them are so dumb. I have to wonder why they are into the movie or what lessons they got from it if they’re out here saying shut like “what if it was about BOYS”. Like the first line is literally “hell is a teenage girl” and the movie makes sure to show why. Plus it’s all about female objectification, rape/virginity culture, and lesbian/sapphic longing in a patriarchal society that shames women’s sexuality while also telling them that they just appeal to men. Plus, how did they forget about lines like “PMS isn’t real, Needy, it was invented by the boy-run media to make us seem crazy.” Or Needy standing up to the leader of the band when they slutshame Jennifer(unfortunately it got Jennifer in a load of trouble but still). Or all the themes about the Madonna-Whore Complex? Or Needy killing the band(I don’t remember what they’re called, they’re frankly irrelevant to me EDIT: They're called Low Shoulder I'm dumb as all hell) at the end of the movie? Like, why do they think she did that? Seriously??? I also can’t forget the “‘are you guys rapists?’ ‘God, I hate girls.’” Part either. The entire story is about women’s roles in society in multiple ways that I can’t even go into now but HELLO?! WAKE UP!!! Misogyny exists you know! Women are still an oppressed and marginalized class! Our stories deserve to be told!

Nah but it's the way every time a story features or is about women or a woman's story, people always want to try to make it about men or say "what if there were men instead?"

My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and Six: the Musical both have parts of their fanbase(although thankfully in Six it's not the majority) saying that there should be a version with all men or going "what if this female main cast had a male main cast instead"? Even though the point of both is to provide representation for women, MLP is about how there's no wrong way to be a girl and changing the way girls'/girly shows are seen as shallow and less good, and giving girls multiple strong female characters to see themselves in instead of just one token/cookie cutter archetype, while Six is all about REAL-LIFE women whose lives were destroyed because of misogyny, it is all about girl power(same as mlp) and women getting to reclaim their stories from a patriarchal society that shortchanged and silenced their voices throughout history, but no let's make it about men lol.

The same is true for Sailor Moon, I have seen some people say that it's sexist or "misandrist"(as if that's even a thing lol) because it's all about women and the women are more powerful and how Tuxedo Mask "always needs to be saved" like goddamn let the girls be the heroes who save the world for once.

And for that matter PRECURE. Unpopular opinion that will surely get my head bitten off by fans but I don't think Precure NEEDS male Cures and it's not "erasing" feminine boys or saying boys can't be feminine or "reinforcing gender roles" to point that out. Precure is a franchise about female characters being the heroes and main characters who are powerful while also being feminine, it's supposed to place the women center stage and give them the spotlight when most media doesn't do that, trying to fit boys in it is just ruining that message imo. Tbh I would be happy if there were no male Cures at all, idgaf about your "but let boys be feminine" shit cuz I mean yeah but like go watch Cute High Earth Defense Club Love or something, that show seems more your speed(@ sexist Precure fans who say this, not you). I once got my comments removed TWICE for trying to point this out to someone, to the point where I just blocked them lol. I also saw some people complaining about Project MC^2 being "sexist" against boys and making them out to be stupid just because it's about girls being smart spies and good at math/art/science, one review even said "teach girls that boys matter too!" oh rly like they don't know already??? Like the world doesn't already tell them that each and every single day??????? The second girls get the spotlight everybody acts like boys are being attacked, but when boys get the spotlight it's all crickets and shit bc boys are supposed to take center stage like no one cares about girls getting attention. Your seven-year-old son isn't going to enter a self-hating misandrist crisis because one wee show said "women do run the world!" we still live in a patriarchy ffs.

Also in Cardcaptor Sakura the main character is a girl and the story has many female characters and is very empowering to women in general(while also having a great deal of powerful men and even a canon m/m couple), and yet I still saw this one annoying guy write an entire screed about how Sakura sucks as a character and should never have been Cardcaptor, the cherry on top was them saying that Syaoran should be the Master of the Clow Cards instead...because it's not enough that this show has multiple representations of positive men/masculinity in addition to women/femininity, it's still not good enough if it's a girl power fantasy, it MUST make a boy the hero!

I also saw someone say that Touhou, which has an all-female cast, needs more men. Wonder if they'd say the reverse if it had an all-male cast(correct answer: they wouldn't).

And then there's the Encanto fandom's entire can of worms where they went through that phase of wanting the female-dominated cast to be all about Camilo and Bruno, sidelining the women in the process. Like bruh. 😕

I really do wish that people would stop this shit, female-centric media is really never allowed to exist without people wanting men to be prioritized in it and take away from the female representation even though men have enough representation already lol, people can't handle when not everything is about men. It's why I will never listen to or take anyone seriously when they complain about shows like these being "sexist against men" and say that anything I write is too female-centric. Like. GOOD. The world needs more female-centric casts to shake up the status quo!
