letter - Jegulus Microfic - @into-the-jeggyverse - word count: 246

“We got an interesting letter in the post today,” Regulus said lightly when James walked into the sitting room, just returning from work.

“Oh? Another from your mother cursing my entire family bloodline?” the taller man joked, sitting next to his husband on the couch and resting his arm around his shoulders.

“I said interesting, not normal,” Regulus rolled his eyes. “No, this was a letter about your son.”

James grinned. “Oh, he’s my son, now? But last week when he caught the Snitch in ten minutes, I seem to recall him being your son.”

“Hm, well, you always did have a wild imagination,” the younger man smirked. “But anyway, do you know what your son did?”

“No, but I can’t wait to find out,” James grinned.

“He snuck off in the middle of the night with your bloody Cloak and tried to go into the Restricted Section. And when he was asked why he said he was trying to find a spell to turn the Slytherins green,” Regulus explained, a frown on his face.

Immediately, James broke into loud laughter, beaming with pride. After a few minutes of chuckles, he finally calmed himself and nodded, looking at an annoyed-looking Regulus. “Yeah, okay,” he acquiesced. “That one’s on me.”

“Quite,” Regulus rolled his eyes.

“But did you save the letter? I want to hang it up,” James asked, eyes shining with glee. “I’m so pr–ow!”

And Regulus didn’t even feel sorry for pushing him so hard.
