unfortunately exercise really does make your brain less evil. they key is that it needs to be strenuous.
walks are great and definitely better than nothing but eventually you got to find something you enjoy doing that gets your heart rate up. there’s nothing that replicates the feeling of aliveness i get when my heart’s pounding and i’m catching my breath. exercise pulls you out of your head and puts you squarely in your body in the present moment.

for my 30th birthday I've finally decided I'm going to lay the groundwork for the person I really want to be... i've talked about this with my therapist a lot but I used to exercise near daily, and go to events and protests by myself, take care of my garden and bake and crochet and then 2020 happened and then I got into a codependent relationship and now... I don't do any of that stuff 😔 so since I'm out of work for the next however many days, I'm gonna take the baby steps and start doing that stuff again
