Are you really serious right now? You bring Seung Nyang news of Taltal’s death then have Ta Hwan die. And then you conclude the drama with this scene. You mean to say, I’ve watched 51 episodes of the drama to have them end with a scene from episode 4?

I feel somewhat betrayed and cheated. And sad. So unbearably sad.

I thought I had already downloaded the entire Empress Ki OST, turns out I missed a very important one. On that note: I DID NOT KNOW JI CHANG WOOK SANG FOR THE OST. His song is beautiful! If you haven’t already looked it up, it’s “To The Butterfly” and it’s that song that’s been playing for like all the important heart fluttering moments and escaped me completely.

Oh dear, I’m fangirling again. I may not be very happy with his character but Ji Chang Wook makes it so hard to hate on Ta Hwan when he’s such a wonderful being (I’m talking about oppa here, not Ta Hwan. Nope, Baby Emperor is still in the dog house. And is most likely never coming out of there. I am not forgiving Seung Nyang.)

Yes, even though episode 50 was enormously overwhelming and plot-heavy, I still took the time to take screenshots of Taltal’s face. And then I thought how extra gorgeous Seung Nyang looked in this episode and well, this happened. Even if my hopes are dashed for Taltal and Seung Nyang’s happily-ever-after, I’m never giving up my TalNyang ship. Nope. Never.

(Especially with Wang Yoo gone. If there’s anyone in this drama alive that deserves Seung Nyang, it is sure as heck not Ta Hwan. Still not over the death. Probably never going to be.)

A few hours after first watching the video that shows Wang Yoo’s death, I decided to have a look at the entire 50th episode and there’s this scene. And I thought I was off the feels train for today. I hate it so much that he died.

First, she loses her first son and now she loses her first love. I’m crying right along with you, Seung Nyang.

WAS THIS REALLY NECESSARY?!

Wang Yoo’s last breath was spent calling out for Seung Nyang.

Guy, I can’t even right now.

Wang Yoo, you have been bumped up to favourite character status alongside Taltal. I just wish you didn’t die.

A side note: Is it just me or is it really hard to tell who is first and second male lead in this? Because usually, first lead does not die. I don’t know anymore. I just don’t know.

How ironic it is that Ta Hwan betrayed Seung Nyang in episode 50 and in the episode 51 preview disregarded her advice (when Seung Nyang is the most loyal, well-meaning, purest and most forgiving soul) only to find that Ta Hwan’s most “loyal” vassal has been betraying him all along? Karma maybe?

I truly cannot imagine the ending for this drama.

Well, I still keep alive my hope that Seung Nyang and Taltal are together and making babies in the last scene of Empress Ki. A girl can only hope for so much.

Most unjust death of a character I can imagine. What did Wang Yoo ever do to die like this? The only ‘wrong’ thing he’s done is love and do everything in his power to protect a woman who happened to be beloved of the Emperor. BUT THAT IS NOT WRONG. Because Seung Nyang and Wang Yoo loved each other FIRST. At that point, Ta Hwan was pursuing Seung Nyang against her will. She never welcomed his attentions when she was with Wang Yoo. Only afterwards she began to love Ta Hwan of her own volition despite Wang Yoo being around. And that’s the thing! She still loved Ta Hwan. She was loyal to him. She had Wang Yoo’s help, yes, but it never went beyond a partnership. But because he’s selfish in his love and desires and delusional, he got it in his head that the only way Seung Nyang could survive is to kill Wang Yoo. HOW DOES THAT MAKE SENSE, TA HWAN?!

That’s it. I wanted him to be happy in the end but this killing was not justified in the least. Let whatever happens happen. See if I care. I am done. I am so done right now.
