OP OH MY GOD SOMEONE SHARES MY OBSESSION WITH TALTAL.

i think yeah he was 100% attracted to her and in love with her and she him. The scene where he pulls back her hair and then the scene when he shouts at her for loving Wang Yu.

It was pretty much confirmed by the actor Jin Yi Han that there was a romance plotline planned for them but it didn't end up being developed, so he just played the character as having a one-sided crush. I don't even mind too much bc the silent pining we ended up with is making me revisit Those Episodes year after year.

This time I played with different AIs to see if they could generate Taltal for me.

To do so, I prepared a few reference photos of his face and body, as well as a rough sketch of a position in which I want an art. I'm not naming which services I used, because, well.....I don't remember. It was a long journey and I used many.

(indications were for me, in case I forgot what I meant XD)

First results were embarassingly not resembling the character at all, however they captured the position so I kept them for future references (And they kinda look inspiring, I like it)

Aaaand it was a waste, because the more I aimed for the character resemblance, the less it became similar to the position reference (except for the head position)

In the result, I got some imperfect pictures that can count as fanarts or cosplayers photos. Which is kinda close to success, but well, it's still not what I wanted and required quite a work done. And, still, the costumes and the haircuts do not fit. So, no magical art from AI for now, but it surely can generate some stuff for inspiration, which is already cool.

So, those who does fanart do not have to worry about anything yet XD

I'll go continue doing my stuff, I'm preparing Nyang's fanart for now (But I'm drawing reaaaally slowly)

There’s a strange poetry to this letter never reaching the hands it was intended for and I’m not sure whether to feel sad about it or not.

Lose stone

A letter is found by new tenants in a lose brick in the wall and within it, a confession lost in time.

“Darling, come here for a second.” She heard her husband calling from the upstairs bedroom he was repainting. As his wife entered the room, he turned to smile at her, pointing at a brick in the wall. Knocking on it, the sound came back hallowed compared to the rest of the wall, the man grabbing a screw driver to pry it open.

Layers of old paint and cement came undone, the brick falling to the floor, shattering on impact.

Inside the small space an envelope, stained from old age, peered back at them “Do you think it’s from the other tenants we bought it from?” the wife asked, a bit skeptical in retrieving the hidden secret just yet.

“It looks quite old.” Her husband answered, digging it out and holding it to the light “Should I open it?”

“I see no harm in it. Maybe it’s like a small story about one of the families that used to live here.”

The glue holding the paper together was dry, coming undone as soon as it was opened. Inside, the couple found a picture of a young woman smiling, a letter neatly tucked behind it. In neat cursive writing it wrote:

“I don’t know if your delicate claws will ever open this letter, let alone find it. Not after everything that has happened to us, around us, horrors that had stripped our souls and tore us apart. But even so, in the possibility that you might one day read it, I will write it.

To you, one last time, like we used to when we were young.

There have been few moments for us when there was not a care in the world. Yet, despite hating it for so long, I had always known loving you would always carry a certain weight. Your family name has always darkened the world, yet you created life and light out of it in more ways than one. Even now, when you are not my wife, when I catch a glimpse of you, never changing, always a perfect picture stuck in time and space, memories flood my senses.

You will aways be, exist, for your fierce soul will never know any bounds. You will fight until this haunted world stops existing and even then, or at least I hope by then, you would have found a way to bring everything back, to finally be happy.

I was not the one for you, I may have been for a moment, but years taught me that I was not enough. But you were always more stubborn than me, bent on creating the versions you saw as real inside your head. Maybe there is some madness to you, deep down, dark and raw, something drifting souls will not be able to understand.

Maybe you will find a similar one like you, to vanquish the world with, or to finally exist with, an unsettling sight that stirs even the coldest hearts. I have seen you become so much, turn tides as if events were nothing but what they were meant to be, passages of time. And like a statue of the finest materials, you stood and endured it all.

All alone.

Oh how I hated you for that. For still going, still moving, even in pain, never managing to sit still. Not even when you were to have a family, a husband at home and a child in your belly. Not after he was born, your body healed, eyes even more fierce than before. Protecting us against shadows, against a past that you could not erase.

Even I managed to overcome my fears, see them for what they were, fathoms of a child’s scared mind. But you, oh you, child of fire and fury, you went right back out and burned the world to ashes.

In a sense I am envious. So jealous that I will not be here to witness you and what you will become. To see your glory and the torment you could never let go of, yet would always deliver. A warrior, always a warrior, stoic, hardheaded in the worst of times, yet gentle and so fragile.

I loved you, I burned against your touch and continue to long for your warmth even years after all that happened. You, a partner, a friend, a lover, an enemy, all wrapped into one perfect beautiful smile.

I lost you before my inevitable time ran out. But I loved you, I still love you.

And I hope when years wash over you, that you will take time to look back once in a while and remember me, remember us that you will smile despite it all.

The way he literally dives onto his bed and turns his face away is hilarious. This is very much a period version of a noona romance, isn't it, and not just because Ha Ji Won is 9 years older than Ji Chang Wook and Nyang IS supposed to be older and/or more experienced in life. The dynamics are totally noona romance!

We all know who is the boss tho...

That would be a different drama...

Someone is jealous! But also I love how often he's shot looking up at her, though he's not only taller, he's the freaking emperor. Because emotionally she has all the power and that is true until the end, though I suppose by the end they are equally codependent so perhaps not.

God, if he were a puppy, his tail would be wagging so hard. But of course she avoids answering.

Not shippy but I love how any hint human feeling is to be squashed in the palace of hell. He finds out his father left a blood letter willing the throne to him and his first thought is for how awful his father must have felt:

I loved this little bit.

I find it pretty telling that the more time she spends with him, the more she likes him. I don't necessarily mean in the romantic sense because at this point in the narrative she is still firmly Wang Yu My Love territory but in terms of emotionally vibing with him it's there. She may not want to jump his bones (yet) but she feels liking and pity for him as a person, and understanding too. She has ceased wanting to murder him not just because it would death for all the Koryo servants in the palace but because she gets why he is the way he is, and honestly if she didn't understand before why he lied and said Koryo was the one who hunted him and El Temur, she is about to get a hell of a demonstration in the later part of the ep.

Don't worry, if Togon is not the psycho she thought, she still has psycho suitors around:

Gotta say, Nyang is Mongol catnip of insane degree - Togon, Taltal and this dude all are nuts for her. 75% of her suitors are Mongol :P

I was like 11 when I got into Harry Potter and my obsession about A.R. focused mainly on Severus Snape. I swear he formed my character during puberty and my entire taste in man. I basically made an Harry Potter OC out of myself and made my entire personality like that Slytherin girl that has a secret romance with her potions teacher… and I made it everyone’s problem. Damn I was annoying

2. Benedict Cumberbatch (as Sherlock Holmes)

I think I joined the BBC Sherlock fandom around the time season 2 dropped and fell so hard for Sherlock. I even when to the first Sherlocked CON in London only to be madly disappointed when I actually met him. I can’t describe it but as I walked into the photo area and stood right next to him I instantly knew I don’t like Him. Like we didn’t even speak much it was just an instand bad feeling that I still have many years later. At the time it felt like a very bad breakup.

3. Mark Gatiss (as Mycroft Holmes)

Always liked his character in BBC Sherlock but I honestly fell in love the same day I lost Benedict. Coping mechanisms? Maybe. Idk.

3. Tom Hiddleston (as Loki)

Honestly what does it say about me that I always fall for the bad guys? It got as far as me cutting my hair short and getting a ridiculously expensive cosplay. Still I’m only here for the older version of Loki. Honestly after Ragnarök everything went to hell and I don’t really enjoy anything that came from the MCU after that. Not even from my beloved god of mischief.

4. Adam Driver (as Kylo Ren)

Look at this face and tell me you’re not in love. Isn’t he just the cutest? And don’t we Love a man that destroyes things when he’s angry?

5. Jared Harris (as Valery Legasov)

Chernobyl somehow triggered something in me that I thought was long dead. It may be because of my families history in the Soviet Union.. I don’t know. But lemme tell you I haven’t produced fanart that excessive in quite a while.

6. Jin-Yi Han (as TalTal)

(I had to make this gif myself because the fandom is f*cking dead) I swear I always join the party years to late. But Jin-Yi Han awoke a new love for Asian culture in me. I never had much interest for KDramas but honestly this one spoke to me. He became a comfort character.

7. Charlies Dance (as Sardo Numspa)

The first time I saw him as Tywin Lannister in Game of Thrones I thought Damn Daddy please beat my ass… and the rest is history.

We can kinda see a patern here. Don’t we? (Mostly)Mean dudes with longer (dark) hair and anger management issues. Also I’m a slut for authority.

Can i ask what you think of Taltal, he became one of my favourite characters by the end.

I really enjoyed his relationship with Seung-nyang! I never really shipped them as such, because I knew she would end up with Ta Hwan, but I liked that they seemed to develop a real respect for each other!

Alright so I wanted to keep it an intrigue but I realised that I want to redraw it anyway, so there is no point in not-sharing the old version.

So, basically, I have an AU story (post-canon one, so beware spoilers) that I wanted to develop for a really, really long time. It is about Nyang running away with Ayu and Taltal after the revolt. They plan to go into hiding and wait for things to calm down, survive and possibly return. However, they did not know that the ghosts of the long (or not so long) gone characters are watching them from the afterlife.

Finally, after suffering for 4 years or so, I decided to give this idea a realisation and make it into a comic. Idk if it will cover everything that I planned but at least there will be something, which is good^^

Here are first two pages of the story (probably with grammar mistakes and awkwardly drawn, I WILL REDRAW THEM once I get more comfortable with the characters). I just tested my determination xD

SO yes I just teased and will stop until I manage to get used to the characters and they start to resemble themselves more in my style xD aaand the second version will be better! Pinky promise!

And yes, it will be TalNyang one, but slowslowburn and quite focused on the ghosts stuff (at least I want it to be, but you never know me)

Sometimes all it takes is just a little patience and something magical can happen. When a little girl gets an avocado seed she learns about patience and wonder as she watches it grow. This was such a sweet story about the wonders of plants and the joy of seeing a plant you grow yourself get bigger and bigger. Since this is inspired by the artist's own childhood, this was even cuter. The artwork was adorable and I think this would be a great read for young readers!
