달토끼 (literally MOON RABBIT, officially THE RABBIT ON THE MOON) is the first full album by FABLE YUHAENG, a subunit of fictional boy group FABLE. Released on September 23, 2024, it is the first of Fable's vaguely seasonal albums to be released on time with the corresponding holiday. Like the majority of their recent releases, most of the album's production was done by ANDREW. Unlike the majority of their recent releases, half the songs are trot songs.
The album's title track, 찐이야 (JJINIYA), was promoted for three weeks and received one music show win, much to everyone's surprise. The second half of the album contained solo tracks by each of the four members who made up the subunit: KIYOUNG, ANDREW, HAKSU, and BYEONGHWI. Haksu's solo song, PEACHES, was also a nominee for a possible music show win, in an even more surprising move.
TRACK LIST
001. 찐이야 (JJINIYA)
002. Weekend
003. 오늘 걷기엔 딱 좋겠다 (A Good Day to Walk)
004. 옆집오빠 (Boy Next Door)
005. 칼틔근 (Leave Work on Time) - Kiyoung
006. SPEAK OF THE DEVIL - Yejun
007. Peaches - Haksu
008. Do or Die - Byeonghwi
STYLING
ERA NOTES
Not a single yapper in this lineup. Which means any and all questions about why Mingeun and Intak weren't there and why this couldn't have been a full group comeback went unanswered. New kpop unsolved mystery just dropped.
At the album's showcase, Andrew made a vague, unscripted comment about something never happening again. Fans took this to mean the subunit, and their sales skyrocketed on the third and fourth days after release.
They hung up the hanboks for once. A few people cheered. The styling themes were "campus crush" and "bringing your boyfriend home for Chuseok to meet your parents for the first time."
The line distribution was still uneven, despite there only being four of them. It's Haksu's world, and the rest of us are just living in it.
They all made major contributions to the "best of fable live vocals" compilations. Haksu always has to sing over the backing track, so he was obnoxious as usual. The choreography was fairly simple and they did every performance with hand-held microphones. They're singers who sing!!
Each album came with half a deck of Fable-themed hwatu cards. Fans had to buy both versions of the album to complete the deck. They hosted a few events where they played Go-Stop with fans under the watchful eye of a metric fuckton of staff.
There was absolutely no mercy. Kiyoung was very good at the game and caused a few fans to leave the cafe in tears. He later apologized via social media. Haksu was extremely competitive, though he tried to tone it down. Andrew was extremely competitive, and he made no effort to hide it. Byeonghwi was the most casual player, and therefore the most popular.
Overall one of their more positive eras, despite the promoting Japanese culture controversy and the promoting gambling controversy.

🌀, 🌈?
🌀 The Forest: An ode to Korean culture that takes place in an endless forest dotted with clearings that are connected by a single train line. A massive tower of black stone with strange porportions on the inside links the setting to other worlds.
It uses Hwatu cards for playing abilities and changing things in game as well as a Yut-Nori board for tracking experience.
🌈 My favorite job in The Forest is Funeral Witch. They travel the land performing funerals and other rituals to appease the dead. Their highest level power allows their spirit to float around for 24 then return to their body instead of dying.

Them: "Bitch go educate yourself"
Me: *literally spent time learning the rules and cards of hwatu for a fic and still am not sure if I have the rules right, but according to them I can't ask anyone who would know about it/understands it a bit better because then they're "holding my hand"
#it's not for the historical au but this skz fic I'm working on#if anyone out there doesn't mind giving me pointers or just a simple explanation of the game feel free to message or send an ask#I've been searching around for a bit already but yeah some sites don't explain it enough for my brain lol

DIARY OF A PROSECUTOR
GENRES: Legal Procedural, Comedy
SUMMARY: Being a prosecutor in Seoul comes with a lot of national clout. Being a prosecutor in a small seaside town...is important too.
THIS SHOW HAS EVERYTHING: Bosses in bicycle shorts, working moms, binge drinking, gaming alter egos, secluded mountain Hwatu gambling rings, 11-year old bullies, failed stewardess hook-ups, secret bars, dried pollack and somaek, exhalted university trinkets, office turtlenecks, and rooftop rendezvous.
HOT TAKE: No hooks or tropes here, just a run-of-the-mill prosecutor drama that breaks the 4th wall a few times to remind you how absurd humanity is.

When the most reputed history professor of Kuraha University returns to the staffroom after the long run of teaching few sections in a row, there he finds an unfamiliar package resting on his table with one letter written in a neat handwriting;
“To Prof. Umemoto of Kuraha University.
Apologizing for the surprise, I’m afraid I have to clarify beforehand that this isn’t a suspicious package or something inappropriate of sorts. My cousin and his friends have just asked me to relay their presents for your birthday since I happened to have an appointment at your campus for a short while. Maybe the reason they didn’t include their names as the senders is that perhaps they’re going to have their participation in the upcoming rap battle (Not so sure either, just caught some wind of it). By the way, I hope you enjoy your birthday. Your students seem to like you a lot.
Best regards,
Hasuto Minazuki
Kyoto City University of Arts”
Curiously taking a peek inside, there he sees a neat and tidy roll of cozy scarf, a pack of Castella Cheesecake decorated with fuchsia lace ribbon, and a deck of Hanafuda in a black wooden box which has plum blossoms and a Japanese bush warbler delicately painted on its cover.
———Meanwhile… somewhere faraway in the city of old ambience and a herd of wild deer wandering around.
“I feel a bit bad for disturbing Hasuto-san to do us a favor, but I guess our package have been sent and Umemoto-san would have seen our presents by now.”
“Ehehehe, It would be great if sensei likes my freshly made Castella! This time I chose the nanbangashi one instead of the typical wagashi I usually make because I heard that he likes cheeses. Still, as for the history professor; I wonder whether he would like some January namagashi for the next time.”
“No one wants to refuse your sweets, Hi-chan. I’m sure he’s going to love it.”
“Thanks! And hey~ what did Yuuyu send?”
“It’s gonna be cold these days so I think of sending something warm might be a good gift.”
“Ah, I see. That’s so like you! And what in the world did our old man send this time? I think I got a glimpse of something really, really colorful; perhaps they’re some picture cards, but what’s their name again?”
“How come you don’t know Hanafuda, you dumbass child? They’re so famous not only in Japan’s traditional card games but also for their many mentions in literature and in a heap chunk of artwork. And if I remember correctly, there’re similar ones from Korea called Hwatu. However, the thing I don’t get the most is why do people from other divisions keep sending birthday presents to someone who’s gonna be their rival? Are they out of their minds? They’re your fucking RIVAL.”
“C’mon old man, don’t be so mean. It’s not like we’re going to be enemies forever or something —Hasn’t this kind of attitude got you no friends in the first place?”
“Eh, but the ume blossoms and that bird make a good meaning though? How kind of you, Saigo-san!”
——————————
[ Note: Probably my first attempt of writing. Sorry for a bit bad grammar. ]
Finding the gift in the staffroom during Maki’s coffee break was certainly unexpected. Sure, staff and students alike have given their gifts to him either in person or by leaving it in places like lecture rooms or his own office to find later. But the breakroom for the staff was the last place he would have expected to find a birthday gift. With a cup of tea in hand, Maki took the time to read the letter, slightly puzzled at who the gifts were from. That was until he looked into the package and found the three gifts, all of which he was acutely aware of who each gift was from.
“So, we have a new group to face in the future?” Maki could only hum to himself coolly. In his mind, Maki wondered if this was doubling as a declaration of competition. But, only time could tell, since they had yet to truly debut.
Folding the letter up, Maki put it together with the gifts and lifted it. Balancing it in one arm, he used the other to refill his cup with more tea before making his way back to his own office to finish going through the school papers he had to grade. Of course, that wasn’t without taking little glances at the gifts throughout the day, unexpectedly excited to put his gifts to use (specifically, to irritate the rest of his team in a game of koi-koi with his new cards).
Thank you! I’m glad I found your division finally and I can’t wait for you to reveal your team! They’re already super interesting just from your team’s pinned post and receiving a gift from them makes me even more curious askldfjalskdjfi

The lotteria cardverse idea reminds me of this idea I had a while ago to make a cardverse AU based off go stop(hwatu/godori/hanafuda) cards. And while the original cardverse very heavily focused on the European nations as the roles this AU would focus mostly on the Asian nations(as most don’t get enough love)
ooo i like this concept!

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. 鬼滅の刃. 7.6/10
I wouldn't recommend this manga to my friends. I wouldn't reread this manga.
Sahito is cute. I like when any character's eyes become little dots. I can't with how Tanjirou's spiritual core is so beautiful. How lovely. Gyuutarou is pretty cool looking. Omg I love the design combo with hwatu cards. Himejima cute. I like him head patting Tanjirou. Buff Tanjirou is a look. Tanjirou's dad is cool. Muzan with the light haired colored look is nice. I like Chacha-maru being a demon cat.
The spider demons are nasty looking. I do not like the look of Genya's pistol. Muzan's death is so pathetic to me.
I totally get the appeal of the dream demon's work. Happy dreaming, count me in. Demons remembering their original lives are an interesting part to this series for me.
Kotetsu's real face being iike the mask is so funny to me.
Memorable Quotes: "That really is quite disrespectful of me!!" "I keep thinking nasty thoughts because of my pain." "It means that we should truly try to understand our current standing, and upon this standing, we must devise and follow the correct course of action, without any fear of shame or embarrassment...I think." "It may hurt, and it may be difficult, but don't give up to comfort!" "I don't think it's good to train with those wicked intentions." "Go forward one step at a time!!" "A look that flashes brilliance." "Do your best to live! Even if you get lonely!" "The long night will always be our ally." "My heart will never throb for those who hurt people with sick jokes." "The moment you regain yourself, you can get even stronger." "I can plant my feet in the ground with everything I've got." "The only thing getting stronger are her tears!!" "But I think Nezuko can conquer the sun in the near future." "A 'person' is behind that strength..." "I'll slaughter you all." "Once you decide to win, then win." "I can do something as long as I'm alive." "It's flowing and beautiful." "Stop thinking and give it your all!" "Destinies that guide each other and continually change." "On the path of the blade, pain and hardship went hand-in-hand with expertise." "Set your heart ablaze." "Fulfill what you should do and whatever you can do now." "Corner. Pin down. Punish the evil." "Even so, we have to stay alive. As long as tomorrow comes for us."
