God it took me so long to actually finish this doodle, i kept having it planned but never actually drew it

But now i finally did

Have a doodle of thor and my oc herris,i am still so destroyed by thor but he and herris would probably have been rlly good friends

So I've been thinking about Xehanort and his ability to see people's hearts and memories... Did he know there was something very wrong with Bragi/Braig/Xigbar/Luxu, or does he know a way to conceal himself?

I mean, he probably could've warned people about Baldr before people started dying, but he chose not to, so maybe he just let Luxu be out of curiosity of what he intended to do?

Watching the Dark Road cutscenes made me realize that young "running away is the best option, tardy fleetfoot Eraqus" would be absolutely best friends with "Run, run away!" Demyx.

And that's a wild thought.

Was scrolling though some dark road art and got inspired so now I have a new AU :]

(Basically hermod and baldr swap) -In this AU baldr dies , he goes to holder and they both die together and they are both dead and gone when the upper classmen go looking for holder. They can’t find hoder so they return to scala only to find that baldr is missing too!!! Hermod requests for them to be able to go looking for baldr and hoder but master odin says no soooo he sneaks he doesn’t want to get the other classmates involved but eraqus finds out and convinces Hermod to let him come too so they go off their quest to find hoder and baldr.

Meanwhile everyone back at scala is freaking out even more now! 4 pupils have vanished over night so the upper classmen and xehanort’s class get sent out to find the others.

hermod and eraqus wandered around words for awhile before getting to Olympus were they find out that baldr and hoder are fucking dead now I’m still working out this part but some how hermod comes to the conclusion that to revile baldr they need to summon KINGDOM HEARTS!

Maybe he vaguely remembers it from training

Maybe baldr proposes the idea

Maybe even darkness

but the idea im most liking at the moment is hades telling hermod and eraqus like they say they will do anything to get there Friends back and hades tells them to gather the seven magic lights (aka the magic objects the upper classmen collect in DR) to summon kingdom hearts and so now the duo set out on their new quest to summon kingdom hearts!

back to the others they have spilt up the upper classmen going around looking specifically for hoder and baldar and xehanorts classmates looking specifically for eraqus and hermod. After going to a few worlds Xehanort , vor , urd and bragi go to Agrabah and find hermod eraqus finally to two are trying to steal the lamp and explain everything to their classmates about how baldr and hoder are dead and they are trying to summon kh to get them back how they only have to find one item after this. xehanort being the only one to know about kh and what it actually dose , re-start the world and again kinda waffling back and forth on what happens next I know in this AU hermond still continues to try summoning kingdom hearts but im not sure wether eraqus continues as-well I think it would make sense and preserve the after DR timeline but also xehaqus angst and I think the idea of vor and urd raising the BBS trio Instead is interesting.

-in any case hermod and maybe eraqus continue to try and summon kh and the everyone in xehanort’s group goes to try and cut hermond and maybe eraqus from getting the last item they end up at beast’s castle and by plot dumb fuckery just be for hermod and maybe eraqus but hermond and maybe eraqus get the the rose anyway and leave. Depending on whether eraqus is with hermod or not this plays out ever so slightly differently if he is with the other classmates he tells them they need to go to olympus or if he’s not Xehanort reasons they must have gone to the Olympus because of what eraqus and hermod told them about it so they go there only to find.

hermod amd maybe eraqus are with hades starting to summon kh hades tells hermod / mabye eraqus how he was playing them this whole time and summoning kh would not bring baldr and hoder back.

again not fully decided on how this part goes but for now Everyone fights hades to stop the summoning of kh hermod dies in the process kh being summoned is stopped and hades gets away scot free cuz of course he dose

another other option I was playing around with is

xehanort and the others go back to scala get the upper classmen then face hades and the twist is the magic items you stole that integral to the world order? Yeah they don’t matter just needed to lore your friends here so I could murder them to summon kh! (Then hermod either sacrifices himself so xeha and eraqus could get out alive or after hades explains everything he just murders hermod)

So yeah thats my new silly little au basically hermod and baldr swap :) is it way less satisfying and way out of character for hermod then the actual plot of dark road? Well yeah

But was it super fun to make? Hell yeah

definitely be expecting some art of this au low key obsessed with it now….

It drives me insane whenever people frame it like Baldr 'succumbing to darkness' and going crazy was inevitable. Sure, darkness played a part in that tragedy, but it completely overlooks the reality of how Master Odin failed to take care of that child at every step of the way. The boy was lost in grief, and the adult who was supposed to take care of him shoved him in an asylum-like room alone? Are we really going to leave that part out in favor of pushing the narrative that people prone to darkness are simply evil at heart? He could have lived a happy life being himself if he had been supported and nurtured. It didn’t have to be this way.
