Chapter 9 of At Your Service (Rated MA) is now live on AO3! (Yes, I am updating it at 2AM my time; I do what I want!)
I can't post much from the chapter since it's spicy, but have a little (edited) T-rated snippet!
--
Not knowing what else to do, she plucked a slice of rolled omelette with her chopsticks and pushed it to his lips. His eyes widened, pupils dilating, and she swore she heard his breath catch. Had she done something wrong? Before she could fret, however, he parted his lips ever so slightly, and he accepted the offering. His velvet tongue swept over the tips of the chopsticks, and she fixated on the action, her thoughts hurtling to the night before. Her cheeks overheated.
No, she wasn’t thinking about this already, she chided herself, her hands shaking. It was hard not to when she was still undressed, save for the yukata draped across her back and shoulders, when he licked his lips with such a dazzling look in his amethyst eyes. She swallowed hard, flicking her gaze down to the plates as she worked a piece of fish off the bone, but instead of feeding it to herself, she brought the chopsticks to Tomoe’s mouth again.
Once more, he closed his lips around the meat, his eyes locked on hers. His lips lingered for a beat too long, and then he slid down the chopsticks, all but kissing the tips. She gulped, watching him chew, his eyes glued to her. Crap, he’d gotten her flustered over nothing.

how would you rank the ninja from worst to best based on the ninjago seasons youve seen?
Nya and Wu are the best, everyone else is the same to me
#Conceptually. Loyd; Garmadon; and Kai are interesting.#However later seasons of Loyd and Garmadon are so. They were kinda nuked#Like what do you MEAN Garmadon wasn't capable of having compassion or caring for Loyd (crystal king part 2). Like#Garmadon loved Loyd. That was a pretty important aspect of s1-2#like hello#What#the other ninja feel kinda the same to me for the most part? Especially in dragon rising. Specifically in dragon rising.#All of their one-liners have no distinct character voice. They're interchangeable. I'm going mad#Nin//jago compels me in a ''why is this so bad'' way. Or maybe it's that Sea Nya was so good compared to everything? idk#Like why was there something like that 14ish seasons in a fairly bland show. It boggles me. I'm boggled#I actually didn't watch any other part of Seabound.#In my experience ninja//go is best experienced by watching the finale/payoff#So you can fill in the set-up in your head.#I also watched a sort of edit about nya on youtube. Which gave me more context for her character#I need to stop doing a deep dive into ninj//ago like this doesn't interest me at all. I'm losing my mind. I must ignore my dark curiosity#Of wondering ''is there anything else like sea nya'' and the answer being no#I'm crying at how bad oni Loyd was like truly#Uhhhh Cole's stuff with grief wasn't awful? Or doesn't seem to be?#just like. Serviceable I guess#I'm going to be driven mad by ninja//go this shit is just. I can't even describe how I feel rn#It's so mush. It's hollow. It has nothing I like about stories or animation in it.#And I don't mind crazy lore! I'm a kh fan! But the lack of underlying logic. It makes me feel disoriented#It's like watching natla where every new line feels like it wasn't written with the last in mind#Like I guess if people like the characters????? Like that's it that's all you have#Like THIS is the show people are talking about when they're saying something is just a ''kids show'' you know#Why am I doing this this was a show made to sell merchandise it literally does not matter#I guess since the ninj//ago fandom and the lmk fandom are so closely connected I just see stuff for these characters all the time#ninjago critical#anon#asks

Wish
"Your wish is my command. Shabooey!"
With an explosion of purple smoke, everything returned to normal.
Normal, as in the middle of a ruins, caught in a deathtrap, and surrounded by killer scorpions.
Normal to everyone in the McDuck-Duck family. Everyone.
After the purple atmosphere had dispelled, Huey inspected his surrounding: No more props, lightings, cameras or weird anthropomorphic primates.
Just one more thing to confirm.
"Say something funny, Dewey." Huey asked his younger brother.
"Something funny, Dewey." Who replied with a silly joke, before waiting for a canned laughter from nowhere, like his friends and family were doing.
Silence.
Great.
"Ah-ha! The sound of nobody laughing never sounded so good!" Huey cheered in ecstasy. Everything was really back to normal.
Huey heard an unintelligible whisper from behind him, before the eccentric genie caught his attention.
"Best episode ever!" Gene zoomed into the sky in a trail of purple smoke, lying on his back on a purple cloud.
Everyone lifted their heads to look at the laughing genie, still surprised that they accidentally found the lost lamp of Collie Baba. That was, before yet another voice diverted their attention away.
"Gosh, that's sweet." An unfamiliar voice made everyone turn around, only to see a touched Goofy actually standing on the side of the sinkhole.
"Wait, Goofy was really here this whole time?" Della questioned, perplexed; while Launchpad gave Goofy a little wave. The kids were just as confused, but it was mostly due to the fact that they didn't know who that person was. Only the adults seemed to know him.
Although, Della was even more confused as to how the seemingly clumsy and lanky father from Spoonerville could navigate to the depth of the ruins alone and unscathed.
"Of course! Magic's got nothing over the power of a big-name guest star!" Gene flew towards Goofy in the blink of an eye, his legs now a ghostly wisp of ectoplasm, as one would expect from a genie. He seemed to want to put a hand over his guest's shoulder, but he ended up wrapping his overly stretched arm literally around Goofy's body. When Gene suddenly released, the quick motion caused Goofy to spin around rapidly, disorienting the poor dog.
Unknown to everyone, Donald had been watching everything from the side. He held the golden lamp in his hand, his heart full of doubts and conflicts. He just wished for something he had always wanted to come true, and then immediately made to undo that wish. Granted, even if his family wasn't asking him to do so, Donald would still nullify that wish. He only wished for his family's happiness, and nothing more. Even if that wish was an accident, that happy, normal family photoshoot was something Donald had been dying for. However, seeing them disappointed or even being attacked was enough to make Donald regret his decision.
Although, that meant danger would once again find its way to harm his family, like it always did. He would have to protect his family with his own hands, like he always did.
And the fact that Goofy was here was not a good omen. Hopefully no one noticed his frown when he saw Goofy, or would question Donald why he was so sad to see his old friend.
When Donald was still worrying, that overly excited genie teleported to his side, oblivious to the uncle's heavy heart.
"You know...you have one more wish. You could have anything..." Gene held his arm over Donald's shoulder, his other hand rubbing his fingers as magical sparkles glittered. He pated Donald on his chest, before extending his hand to the air and drawing out an arc, as if showing Donald all the possibilities he could achieve with his last wish.
Everyone in the family thought he was pondering for his final wish when Donald averted his eyes, but only he knew he was thinking about something much, much deeper.
He didn't have time to think about petty wishes, to be honest. Not before knowing what bad news had brought Goofy here.
"I...need some time...alone." Donald said, much to the disappointment of other family members.
"Aww, come on, Don! Don't tell me you still believe in birthday wish rule?" Della complained.
"Curse me kilts! Time is money, lad. And money doesn't grow on trees, y'know?" Followed by Uncle Scrooge. Dewey was about to rebut with the money tree in the Doomsday Vault, before being shut up by Huey.
Meanwhile, Donald tried to formulate a lighthearted reply. They didn't have to know what was going on in his mind.
"My wish, my rules." Donald feigned a childish pout, before starting to move away from the group to somewhere more secluded. He held the magic lamp in his hands, thus the cheery genie followed.
"Goofy, you come too." Donald turned his head to look at his old friend, who, after a daze, quickly nodded in reply and followed as well. The invitation aroused some complaints from others about how Goofy was allowed to know his wish, but Donald couldn't care anymore.
Once the three people were in a nearby cave, somewhat deep within the stone wall, Gene started asking his "master" about what his wish might be, while Goofy began to ask his friend about what he had wanted to say. The recipient of both questions however kept silent, merely looking down on the golden lamp and the ground below. When both adults stopped their questionings due to a lack of response, they could notice that Donald was actually tilting his head, seemingly listening for something or someone.
After ten more seconds of absolute silence, Donald suddenly spoke up.
"Dewey, I am serious. Please leave us alone."
Upon hearing his uncle's words, Dewey revealed himself from his hiding place with a sheepish smile. Apparently the middle child had also followed along to eavesdrop on what his uncle's last wish might be. Dewey would have complained and stayed or hide again later, but the sudden lack of emotions in Donald's words let even the most playful triplet know he should leave and never come back.
After Dewey ran away, Donald still waited and listened for an extra minute, before turning his attention to the other two.
Other one, actually. He really didn't have time for petty wishes.
"Gene. I'll get back to you later. I'll have to speak with Goofy first." Donald plainly stated his intention, much to the genie's dismay. "I brought you along only to not arouse suspicion from my family. I am already being lenient. I should be talking to Goofy alone. You can stay, but don't speak a word to anyone about what we are going to talk about. Especially to my family."
It was a command, not a request. Before Gene could complain about having his queue cut, Donald made his point clear with a serious stare. With that, Gene retreated to give some space to the two friends, keeping unusually quiet.
Once he was alone with Donald, Goofy too dropped his cheery demeanour. "Heh...I can't hide anything from you, eh Don?"
"You are telling me? You just traveled to the middle of nowhere, only to see me adventure? Come on." Donald drily chuckled. "You didn't even wait until I've got home. Or, even until I've got out of this ruins. You just had to venture through the temple alone. Don't be surprised if they later ask you if you really are a knight."
"Well, with all the mysterious stuff happening around you, I am surprised they haven't asked you if you really are a wizard already." Goofy rebutted.
"Well, then good." Donald huffed. As much as he wanted to talk with his old friend, he knew he could only stall for so long. "So what brings you here?"
Upon hearing Donald's question, Goofy's eyes dimmed. Although he was sure Donald could already guess half of it, telling him the entire news was very, very hard. He knew already how much Donald had on his plate, and he hated to add more. But Goofy was a terrible hider, and an even worse liar. And even if he didn't tell, Donald would definitely find out one way or another.
"The enemies...The Heartless...The Organisation...they are attacking the kingdom again..." Goofy whispered, his voice lowered involuntarily as he too struggled to deliver the bad news.
Donald frowned. As vague as Goofy put it, he understood the message completely. There was only one kingdom Goofy could be talking about, and only one group of enemies of the kingdom.
And even if that was all Goofy had said, the hidden request for help from the kingdom was clear as day.
The kingdom for which they had fought many years ago, before either one became a father or an uncle. When they were just a young knight and a young wizard, fighting against the forces of evil with their friend, the young king Mickey.
And now, the remnant of the past had come back to bite them.
Donald didn't reply, understandably so. Goofy felt his guilt intensifying.
"You...you don't have to join if you don't want to..." Goofy tried to take back what he had said earlier, or make Donald feel better. Or, at least lessen the crushing guilt in his heart. He shouldn't have told Donald about the reignited war, because...
"You know I will join, don't you?" Donald took a silent deep breath.
"...I know." Goofy sighed, putting a hand on Donald's shoulder. "You always will. For them..."
Goofy turned to look at the happy family at a distant. Donald's happy family.
"...you would do anything, wouldn't you?"
Goofy didn't need an answer from Donald. Everything he had been doing was for his loved ones. From the first day Donald became the court wizard, and stepped onto the battlefield, he only had one goal on his mind.
He was fighting for his family's safety and happiness. Fighting so that his family could live another day with a smile. Fighting to stop the fires of war from spreading to where his beloved ones were.
That was the reason why he had joined the war all those years ago, and that would be the same reason he was joining again today.
"I will be joining the kingdom. I have Max to protect." Goofy continued. "Pete will be there too. He's got an entire family."
Donald had guessed Goofy and Pete would be involved. They were both loving fathers after all, however obvious or subtle they might seem.
"Very well. I'll be joining t-"
"No. You won't be." Donald was about to give his reply, when Goofy suddenly cut him off, much to Donald's confusion.
"What on earth? You asked me for help and then refused my offer?" Donald was visibly annoyed, before hearing Goofy's words.
"No. You alone won't be going." Goofy was being unusually serious.
"Pal. My magic skills have not gone rusty. If anything, they are even stronger now."
"I mean, you need someone to come with you."
"Then what do you want me to do? Ask the kids to tag along?"
"You can't keep putting everything on yourself, Donald."
Goofy raised his voice. Even if it was only slightly, for a usually casual person, he had made his point clear. And Donald could feel that.
"You...Goofy, you know I can't ask any of my family for help. They don't even know I am-"
"Of course I know that."
Everyone who truly understood Donald would know that telling him to "come clean to his family" was never an option. It might work for other families, but not the Duck Family.
The kids were too young to understand. Della was too impulsive to understand. And Scrooge, the person who definitely could help, was too stubborn to understand.
That's why Donald never told and would never tell his family about his hidden duties: They could know, but they would never understand. Imagining letting his treasure-loving uncle know about an inter-dimensional world: That self-confident Scrooge McDuck would just recklessly rush into the danger - along with the kids, of course, whom he always thought he could protect - and Donald would always be the one to keep them safe from the shadows.
"I know you have someone who truly understands you. Who will support you no matter what. I want you ask them to fight with you." Goofy stressed his request, before sighing once again. "I believe in your ability, Donald. You are the best fighter in the entire kingdom. But you can't carry all the burdens yourself."
Of course Donald knew of such "someone". He didn't easily open his heart to someone, but those whom he had done so, they were good friends who would fight for him at a heartbeat. A certain parrot, rooster and aracuan bird appeared in the back of his mind.
And that's what made Donald so reluctant to ask for their help: They would fight for Donald. They would let themselves get hurt for Donald.
Although, deep in his heart, Donald would like someone to have his back, to share his burdens. He always told himself that he was strong enough to handle everything himself. That it was selfish to give someone else the task.
However, it would be a lie to say Donald was completely willing to sacrifice himself. Not even Donald could lie to himself that he was the selfless uncle, friend and hero others believed him to be.
Especially...perhaps, just perhaps...he might be giving up his life this time...
Whether that was his true feeling, or he was tired and just wanted to satisfy Goofy for now, Donald reluctantly replied.
"...alright. I will ask José, Panchito, and Ari. Can't make any promises for now. Don't tell others about them for the time being." Donald muttered.
Goofy let out a heavy breath. At least Donald had agreed.
"But I can't join you now. I..." Donald paused, looking at the direction to his family. "...I still have them to look after for now. After all this, however, I will definitely come."
Before Goofy could reply, a voice shouted from outside the cave.
"Hey Don! You done yet?! Take longer and your wish will have to be a ride back to Duckburg!" Della yelled, impatient.
Donald didn't reply. He didn't want to keep his family waiting as well, but he was in no state to hurry up.
The other two in the cave had heard Della's words as well. Goofy smiled sheepishly. "Right, Don. Don't you have a wish to make?"
While Gene strutted from the ledge he had been bored to death on, towards where Donald and Goofy were. He was about to make another cheeky remark, before seeing Donald's serious face and thus keeping all those jokes to himself.
Donald looked at the magic lamp in his hands. What wish could he still wish for? He just wished for a normal family, where it was safe and happy, and everyone hated that.
"You've been able to wish us out this whole time?"
"Come on, it's not so bad here, is it?"
"Silly problems, comforting music, and everything gets resolved nicely in the end, with no one getting hurt, or captured, or lost..."
That was the closest Donald had to confessing his true feelings to his family. Everyone seemed to understand, as well. They must understand. They had to. They had experienced those things themselves, after all.
"But it's not who we are. We go on adventures, travel the world, defy danger...That's what makes us, us."
Yet even after hearing his true voice, his family just brushed away his concern like nothing. Even Huey, his most sensible nephew.
No one questioned why Donald would make such a wish five times a day. No one asked why Donald would always tag along despite his obvious dislike for adventures. No one wondered how they could always end an adventure without anyone getting hurt, captured or lost.
"If I didn't do anything, everyone is going to be killed...
Everyone is going to die..."
Was what Donald thought when the family was trapped in the deathtrap, facing off countless ferocious arachnids. He hugged his legs close to himself, rocking back and fro as terrible memories of the war invaded his mind and paralysed his body.
"I wish we could just have normal family problems...
...is that...too much to ask for...?"
Donald wanted so badly to tell them everything he had seen in his days as a magician or a superhero. Dangers beyond their imaginations and abilities to handle. Tragedies that could unfold if Donald didn't do his best to prevent them from happening.
He wanted so badly to just blast away all the scorpions with a simple magic burst, and dispel all obstacles with his extraordinary magic talent.
But Donald kept silent. He couldn't tell them anything. He couldn't let them know. They wouldn't understand.
And if they got hurt, or worse, because of him...Donald would never forgive himself.
Staring into his melancholy reflection on the golden treasure, Donald's eyes dropped. Everything he wished for was for his family. The first two wishes were evidence for that. And his third wish would be as well.
"Gene." Donald held the lamp tightly in his hands. "You can grant any wish, right?"
Donald doubted even a wish-granting genie was able to magically solve all his problems and protect his family, but he was desperate to try anything.
"Y-yes...?" Hearing how serious Donald sounded was making Gene uneasy, and that reflected in his uncertain answer.
"Then I wish for the end of the war. The war between Light and Darkness."
Donald requested as a matter of fact.
Gene blinked his eyes, stepping back involuntarily.
"I...I don't know what you are talking about." Gene's feigned ignorance was betrayed by his clear nervousness.
"Gene, if you can't do it, you must tell me." Donald advanced towards the genie. He didn't have any hopes in the first place, and he would hate to be left hanging like a fool.
"N-no...! I-I mean...I just have n-no idea what you are referring to-" Gene had never encountered a wish he could not grant.
"Gene!" Donald placed his hands on the genie's shoulders, causing the brown duck to jump.
"You know very well what I am talking about." Donald continued. "You constructed my first wish with my cognition and memories. Everything was tailored to me. You must have access to your client's mind."
"W-well...Like I s-said, I-I had been i-in the lamp s-since 1990...I o-only know everything b-before then...!" Gene still didn't want to disappoint Donald. He knew just how much Donald would like this wish to come true, even if Donald never had his hopes up that a genie could magically fix everything.
"1990 is late enough."
Goofy intercepted. Memories of the past war emerged in his heart.
"Back when Donald and I were still young, we had already been fighting in that never-ending war. It only reached a stalemate, not even an armistice. Well, until now, that is." Goofy leaned onto the stone wall, looking at the night sky through an opening of the cave.
"After the war paused, we went our separate ways. But we promised to return to the kingdom, when the fires of war burn again." The knight sighed. How the days had passed. "We have already been given too much resting time. We are lucky the war restarted only now."
"And as a price...The fire seems to be burning much, much brighter this time."
Donald looked at his old comrade in empathy, while Gene slumped his shoulders at Goofy's words.
"...Sorry. These are wishes, not miracles." The genie confessed in a whisper. "I can only grant things within the capacity of my magic. What you wish for, Donald...is not possible to be granted. I am sorry..."
Donald loosened his grip on the genie's shoulders. He should have expected that.
"Then how about the Evronians? Can you do anything about that?" Donald asked plainly. He wasn't even begging at this point. He just wanted any answer.
As expected, Gene shook his head.
"Then you can keep that wish."
Donald released his hands, picking up the lamp from the ground and returning it to Gene. He wasn't even mad or disappointed, much to Gene's relief and sorrow.
Seeing as Donald was about to depart, Gene swiftly caught up with the lamp in hand.
"You...you really don't want anything? We may not meet again after tonight..." Gene asked, hoping Donald would wish for something, so that he wouldn't have to bear the guilt in his heart for being unable to help Donald.
To which Donald shook his head, still facing the exit of the cave. Even without seeing the genie's expression, Donald could sense that Gene was feeling terribly guilty.
"Please, no hard feelings, Gene. Thank you for being honest with me." That was Donald's true feeling as well. The worst thing Gene could have done was giving him false hope.
Watching his friend return to his responsibilities without a reward, Goofy's heart went cold as well. Remembering how happy Donald had been in his wish just now, Goofy could only lament that it was all but a dream.
At least, however, he could give Donald a souvenir. A picture of what could have become reality.
Goofy grabbed Gene from behind, telling him his idea. He did take some pictures in that wish, and those photos persisted even after the wish was gone (because Goofy hadn't been affected by the wish in the first place).
Donald could hear the other two chattering indistinctly behind him, but he decided to ignore them. He knew Goofy was trying to do something to cheer him up, and that made him flash a bittersweet smile. He stood still, waiting for whatever his friend was planning to do.
A mere minute later, Gene tapped Donald on his back to gain his attention. When Donald turned around, he was presented with a photo frame.
With the big family photo in the middle.
It wasn't the formal one Donald had planned to take in his wish - and it had been taken in the middle of a skirmish - but it was a family photo nonetheless.
"Here. Something for you. No wish required." Gene smiled sadly. He knew he couldn't help Donald in any way, shape or form, but at least he could make him just a bit happier.
Donald stared at the photo Goofy had taken, a small, sorrowful smile forming on his face. His heart went a bit sour, but he knew he couldn't be emotional now.
"Thank you, Gene. Thank you." Donald hugged the genie duck, much to the latter's surprise.
"Y-you're welcome..." Gene stammered in response. No one had ever thanked him, not even for his wishes.
"And Goofy..." Donald moved to his old friend. Of course he had guessed that was Goofy's idea.
Seeing Donald's dejected state, Goofy gave him a warm embrace, patting his back a few times.
"You are doing great, Don. You are doing great." Goofy comforted, even though he knew those were just empty words.
"Same to you, Goof." Donald returned the hug. Goofy had gone through a lot too. If he could, Goofy would have asked for a family portrait of him, Max and his late wife as well.
After a deep breath, the two friends let go, and walked towards the exit of the cave together. Afterwards, they would depart from each other once more, but soon they would meet again, under very, very different circumstances.
For both were sailors trapped in the waves of life, their destiny controlled by the cruel hand of fate.
(26-2-2023 ~ 12-3-2023)
----------------------
Another anime headcanon-heavy piece after "Ice on Fire" (omg i still cringe at that name), but this time focusing on Donald in Kingdom Hearts.
Like last time, I will make a list of headcanons used.
→ Okay. First of all, despite using the Kingdom Hearts (KH) setting, I...really cannot guarantee total lore-friendliness.
I haven't even played all the games due to various restrictions (availability of the games, platforms/consoles, time). And even if I had, if you know anything about KH lore, it is...complicated rich. Therefore, I really can't be 100% lore- or canon- friendly (especially) when dealing with KH-related businesses, nor can I include everyone in the KH universe (to be honest I don't even know if I can fit Sora into the story). I will do my research and try my best, but otherwise it is mostly headcanon patching.
(Like I am aware that KH still wasn't a thing in 1990 but just let me-)
→ What you need to know about my KH setting is that what is happening is literally war.
Not a modern warfare. A fantasy one, but a war nonetheless.
Like Paperinik is dealing with (alien) invasions, Donald Duck the Magician is dealing with war against Darkness. The war has been there since around 20 years ago (because KH the game series has also been here for 20 years), with the fires of war reigniting here and there.
→ KH is the very first event Donald experienced chronologically out of his three identities (Wizard, Superhero, Caballero).
[Chronological order of my Donald's story:
KH → DT17 (adventures with Della and Scrooge) → Paperinik → LotTC → DT17 (taking care of HDL and subsequent events in the main series) → KH]
Donald, Goofy and Mickey are essentially soldiers/warriors. The three have been old friends since youth, as well as old comrades who fought in the war together when they were still young adults. The war lasted for a long time, before a stalemate was finally reached, and the war lay dormant for many years.
At this point, Donald and Goofy left the battlefield to start their own lives: Donald had his other duties (Paperinik, Caballero, accompanying/protecting Scrooge and Della on their adventures), while Goofy started a family in Spoonerville. Mickey stayed behind in the realms, preparing for when the battle resumes.
The return of the war referenced in this story is actually the events of KH3. "The fire seems to be burning much, much brighter this time", because it is the final battle in the KH story arc.
→ Donald, as stated before, is absolutely powerful. If you have done KH3, you will definitely know what I am talking about. His physical strength is also very strong, but the focus is on his magic in KH.
Something I would like to expand on the topic is a brief introduction of "magic" in my universe (this knowledge is mostly useless and very cringe but it's what I work with).
Magic is very common in my setting. Everyone has magic to a certain extent, only with varying strengths.
Generally, magic can be categorised into 4 types: Black, White, Elemental and Special. Most people are born with only one type of magic, but exceptionally strong ones can be born with multiple types. Acquisition of another type is also possible, but not easy.
(For one, Donald is a natural Black + White + Elemental Magic user. He is thought to be a White Magic user only, but he actually knows the other two types as well.)
(1) Black Magic is a mostly offensive type of magic. It has devastating attack powers, and is easily the most destructive type of magic. It can also do things that are considered traditional "black" magic, such as blinding, silencing, invisibility, hypnosis, mind control etc.
On the hind side, repeated and/or strong uses of Black Magic can cost the user's life, either by shortening their lifespans, inducing diseases, or outright killing them. In the most extreme case, Black Magic can even cost the user's soul (in additional to their body, i.e. killing them). Not even ghosts remain in this case (therefore resurrection is impossible). The person is truly gone forever.
(This "cost" is the reason why Scrooge doesn't use his magic albeit having very strong Black Magic. The only thing Scrooge values more than his money is his life.)
Notable Black Magic users include: José, Scrooge, Felldrake, Poe, Magica, Maleficent
(2) White Magic is a mostly defensive type of magic. Common abilities include healing, repairing, barrier, reflection, resurrection (not necromancy), enhancement of growth and strength etc.
White Magic does have offensive capabilities, although limited and weaker than Black and most Elemental. Reflection of attacks is the main way for White Magic users to deal damage. However, with strong enough magical strength, direct attack with White Magic can be powerful as well.
Notable White Magic users include: Pete, PJ, Mickey, Goofy (technically), Lena (after "awakening"), Flintheart
(3) Elemental Magic is basically any "-kinesis". It can range from simple elemental synthesis and manipulation, to more complex abilities involving elements. For example, Panchito can infuse his bullets with fire, or generate magical ammunitions. Elements are usually one per user.
Notable Elemental Magic users include: Panchito (Fire), Xandra (Light), Bobby (Sound)
(4) Special Magic actually means "the rest": Any magic that isn't categorised into Black, White or Elemental. Special Magic isn't especially rare, nor is it especially powerful. It just means "others".
Still, Special Magic can be very unique and esoteric, such that it can seem very useful and/or uncommon. Special Magic may also show certain kinds of heredity more commonly. For example, all aracuan birds are users of Special Magic.
(Note that heredity is not unique to Special Magic, though: Panchito's fiery bullet magic is a familial ability passed on from fathers to sons)
Notable Special Magic users include: Ari, Gladstone, Max
→ [About Goofy] Goofy (and Mickey) is one of Donald's few "close friends", which also includes José, Panchito and Ari. Like his other close friends, Donald trusts Goofy deeply and vice versa, and both know each others' "secrets" (e.g. Goofy knows about all of Donald's secret identities)
In my setting (and headcanon), Goofy is a widower: His wife/Max's mother passed away shortly after Max's birth. Although it was out of natural causes (illness), that affected Goofy very much, as well as shaped his overprotective nature, because Max is all he is left with. Max knows about what happened to his mother (once he is old enough, of course).
Like Donald's family, Max doesn't know anything about Goofy's involvement in the war, while Goofy also doesn't want Max to know. It is not that Max is too young to understand (Max is older than HDL), but Goofy doesn't want Max to get involved at any cost, because he can't risk losing Max (as well).
Goofy is known by Donald's family as Donald's "old friend". Only the adults know him (at that moment), because Goofy hadn't been there after HDL were old enough to remember him (because he had Max to take care of).
As stated in the story, Goofy is much more powerful than he looks. Magic may not be his specialty, but his physical strength makes it up. He is a kind soul and is usually unwilling to hurt anyone, but he is fiercely protective towards those he cherishes.
→ [About Pete] Pete is not really in the story, but I guess I will give an introduction to him in my universe (because it is quite different from canon).
First of all, Pete (and Maleficent) is not a villain in my setting. He is de facto a "hero", only borderline "anti-hero". To be honest, even in canon KH, Pete is basically just a nuisance. In my universe, Pete isn't "officially" on either side of the belligerents, but he does help Goofy's side more often than not.
In terms of personal life, I adopt Goof Troop as the basis for Pete's relationships: Pete and Goofy are good friends (really), while Pete is the father of a family of four (Pete, Peg, PJ, Pistol).
Pete here is strict but not dominating, loving but not dotting (and nowhere evil or mischievous). He sometimes has a hard time balancing between being stern and soft, or trying to express love without being affectionate (because he would be embarrassed). Like Goofy, his role as a father does affect his self-esteem quite heavily. He doesn't think he is a good father (as compared to Goofy), but he is trying his best for his children.
But unlike Goofy and Donald, Pete is open about his duties as a fighter in the war, as well as any other things that may be considered "secrets" (such as his magic). Therefore, Pete's entire family knows of the war, and Pete's involvement in the war. Pete's rationale is that "those who should know will eventually know". However, he understands why Goofy is keeping it hidden from Max, and he respects that decision (but also warns Goofy that Max will know one day).
Pete is a White Magic user in my setting. However, he has developed an offensive technique that allows strong direct magic attacks (still relatively weak compared to Black Magic, but it is as strong as White Magic can be). He also hones his reflection skills to the finest. He is currently passing his White Magic techniques to his son PJ.
→ [Back to the story] This story is an alternative universe of the Ducktales (2017) episode "Quack Pack", as well as a product stemmed from watching said episode. (omg as a persona fan that episode is just so painful like that right there is Donald's dungeon/palace i can't even)
I added my own explanation as to why Goofy is there in the first place (because Gene states that Goofy isn't part of the magic), which is to deliver an urgent message to Donald about something only the two know. I also added his relationships to the other characters (especially Donald), because everyone seems to know him but it is never expanded upon.
It is also my first time explicitly writing about my KH headcanons (which are very crazy, as you can see).
Oh, and Gene's "these are wishes, not miracles" is a reference to what he said in the original Ducktales movie, when kid Huey asked for world peace.

okayyyy ive been meaning to talk about this moment forever because i think the way i see it differs from a lot of general fandom opinion.
for context, this is from the dhc section of the dead apple manga. skk are talking about an executive who just died and dazai makes a joke about it, prompting chuuya to deck him in the face and say nobody could believe dazais human. (believe, very importantly. not that he Isnt, just that its unbelievable).
humanity is a key theme to all of bsd, but its Very explicitly central to the skk dynamic. chuuya is an intensely human character in the way that he acts and thinks, and yet! between his ability and ofc the history in the lab, it still gets called into question.
(its pretty solid that our chuuyas the real one, but thats not the point here. sb being an exploration of what it means to be human and whether Actually Being One is all that important to what you are and do, through a Distinctly human character- Thats the point. How you are being more important than what you are.)
then we have dazai on the other hand, where what he is doesnt come into question at all. Even his ability, despite its name, isnt dehumanising to an outside eye, compared to chuuyas corruption or atsushis tiger for example that can take away from their control of themselves. its the how he is, in contrast to chuuya, that comes into question with dazai. he very consistently holds himself outside of humanity both implicitly (through self isolation - shipping container being an extreme example) and explicitly (dead apple dazai talking about humanity as an Outside Observer. he is Not including himself as one of them).
When we are encouraged to doubt his humanity, its dazai Telling us to. he deliberately poses himself as inhuman because he FEELS it. and the dhc moment to me has always felt like chuuya seeing through it and calling his bullshit. Dazais making light of a death to be a dick, to push chuuyas buttons, but also because hes got this constant need to present the worst possible version of himself.
actually if you look at the panels of him when hes talking about the guy being dead, just before he gets dramatic ridiculous exaggerated dazai about it, he doesnt seem to think of it so lightly
(smthn smthn dazai imposter syndrome. the need to deny any of his more human qualities because he feels they dont Fit him. and the links w his questions to atsushi at the beginning and end, his bs 'do i really seem like the type of guy to do x thing'.)
chuuya says hes acting inhuman, that his humanity isnt something people will believe because of the way he ACTS. and then chuuya does an example of his own Chuuya Humanity Act, an act of service for the people he cares about in the form of going to solve the situation himself. AND. ultimately, dazai ends up planning around this later to lead chuuya straight to him so the two of them can deal with it together.
skk pretty consistently ground eo to humanity. dazai through nullification/corruption, but outside of their abilities too (its the thought of dazai - more specifically, not thinking like him - that stops chuuya from killing N in stormbringer and denying verlaines assertion that he shouldnt have been born). and on the flipside, chuuya is part of the reason dazai doesnt khs during or after fifteen. dazais protecting people thing really starts out with chuuya. and again, chuuya makes it his business to call dazai on his shit. (even right the way back in chapter 31 of the main manga, we have that interaction over Q, with dazai saying he spared them only for self serving logical reasons, and chuuya saying he doesnt buy it).
this to me has always felt like part of that. its not 'youre not human', its 'the way you act makes it unbelievable that you are'. its an invitation to prove he is by doing something Real, something worth more than sleeping there til he dies.
and dazai does.
#theres also something to be said abt the fact that chuuya only even has the chance to refute dazai calling himself human bc dazai is talking#abt both of them. im human TOO. theres no reason to have added that#dazai just quite consistently calls chuuya human even when it makes his speech kinda clunky#idk just smt ive found interesting that i will continue reading probably too much into.#but yeah!! chuuya dazai!humanity denialisms are not quite what people seem to be agreed upon? at least thats not how the scene reads to me#certainly not in the context of dead apple as a whole or just. the skk dynamic as a whole.#but yk🤷♀️ maybe i am reading things with my insane goggles on#soukoku#skk#analysis#dazai osamu#nakahara chuuya#bsd and humanity

Fellow KHUX fans talk about this all the time I imagine, but it really can not be overstated how impressive and cool the meta narrative elements of KHX/KHUX are.
Not going to list them all here, but the most mind-blowing one for me personally: the fact that the devs looked at how browser KHX was being remade/ported to phones and said "What if the porting process was actually canon to the story? What if KHX is the real, original world and KHUX is the data copy of it?" And much like any porting process, the copy isn't completely identical to the original, which is represented in the game by gameplay things like medals replacing cards, or plot things like the Keyblade War being erased from the Dandelions' memories. (You could even argue that each game ending its services coincided with the world ending in the story.)
What's even more wild is that unless you played/watched KHX yourself or read up on KHX, the meta aspect of this particular plot point would likely fly right over your head (as it did mine, at first, as someone who back in the day avoided KHX in favor of waiting for an English release). And that probably applies to a large portion of the global playerbase since KHX was a JP exclusive game. Such an unbelievably cool and novel concept for a plot point...and yet its very existence is so obscure!
Anyway, this is partially why I have faith in KHML being cool/interesting, if nothing else. I'm fairly confident that the GPS-based gameplay wasn't chosen on a whim or to jump on a bandwagon (I don't think Pokemon GO has been new/trendy for a while now), but rather because it's going to be relevant to the plot in a meta way. Likely having to do with the connection between fiction and reality, between our world and the world of KH.

Do you think that it's a dumb idea to have a keyholder online, that you don't really know?
Well... sort of. I mean I understand why some men use online keyholders. It's more fun than locking yourself up. You're paying for a service that you could probably get from putting your key into a locker with a random number of days. But I guess a keyholder offers some human contact so I get that.
Tom here: I'm guessing the question is more about "What if the person does not send you back the key?" Every device on the market can be unlocked with some hand tools, or at worst, a Dremel with a grinding tip and a careful hand. There's no actual danger of a KH not returning one's keys. 🔒

I get most of my news either online or from a newsletter I subscribe to, but I’m feeling pretty good right now about our democratic candidates so I sat down to watch Walz’s debut at the Philadelphia rally and here are the highlights (imo, of course)
“Before I was elected vice president or elected a United States senator, I was an elected attorney general, and, before that, an elected district attorney and, before that, I was a courtroom prosecutor. So in those roles, I took on perpetrators of all kinds: predators who abused women, fraudsters who scammed consumers, cheaters who broke the rules for their own gain. So hear me when I say: I know Donald Trump’s type.” -KH
KH talking about fighting for a future where every American can afford to own a home hit me so hard. Why is that such a fantasy? Why have I never even considered it possible?
I am obsessed with the confidence, this is the energy I need. We have plenty of reasons to be afraid but goddamn did I need someone to stand up and calmly declare that we will be okay, and I am so fucking glad it’s a Black woman.
A history teacher as our next VP <3
Their motif of fighting for the future is so much more potent coming from a woman of color and a man who has dedicated so much of his life to youth and to supporting them and their futures. Like damn, maybe the kids really will be okay. Fighting poverty, securing free school lunches for kids, protecting bodily autonomy, and founding his schools first GSA as a straight white man? I don’t know much about Walz but what I’ve learned so far has earned him a lot of respect in my book.
Fuck, Harris talking about Walz’s background and reputation in his school has me tearing up.
“We will win.” Okay, yeah, I’m crying now. These two make me feel so safe, it’s not fair I’ve never felt this way before.
Friendly reminder that one of our main political candidates does not value disabled lives and will openly say as much. Trump wants us dead, don’t let him win.
“Tim and I have a message for Trump and others who want to turn back the clock on our fundamental freedoms: we’re not going back.” -KH
“After Roe was overturned [TW] was the first governor in the country to sign a new law that enshrined reproductive freedom as a fundamental right.” -KH
“Ultimately in this election, we each face a question: what kind of country do we want to live in? A county of freedom, compassion, and rule of law or a country of chaos, fear, and hate?” -KH
“We love our country, and I believe it is the highest form of patriotism to fight for the ideals of our country.” -KH
“Don’t ever underestimate teachers.” -TW (preach)
“It was my students, they encouraged me to run for office. They saw in me what I was hoping to instill in them: a commitment of common good, a belief that one person can make a difference.” -TW
“Now, Donald Trump sees the world a little differently than us. First of all, he doesn’t know the first thing about service. He doesn’t have time for it because he’s too busy serving himself. Again and again and again, Trump weakens our economy to strengthen his own hand. He mocks our laws, he sows chaos and division, and that’s to say nothing of his record as president.” -TW
“Some of us in here are old enough to remember — I see you down there, I see those old white guys — some of us are old enough to remember when it was republicans who were talking about freedom. It turns out now what they meant was the government should be free to invade your doctors office. In Minnesota, we respect our neighbors and their personal choices that they make. Even if we wouldn’t make the same choice for ourselves, there’s a golden rule: mind your own damn business. ” -TW
“When Vice President and I talk about freedom, we mean the freedom to make your own healthcare decisions and for our children to be free to go to school without worrying they’ll be shot dead in their classrooms.” -TW
“Vice President Harris’s idea: freedom is a ticket, for education to be that ticket to the middle class. Not crippling debt, air that’s clean, water that’s pure, communities that are safe.” -TW
TW: “Donald Trump isn’t fighting for you or your family-” random audience member: “You are!” Walz: *allows himself a breath of a laugh before continuing on just as strong as before*
“I gotta tell you, pointing out just an observation of mine that I made, I just have to say it. You know it, you feel it [the republican candidates] are creepy and, yes, just weird as hell.” -TW
“So we got 91 days. My god, that’s easy. Well sleep when we’re dead! Over those next 91 days and every day in the White House, I’ll have Vice President Harris’s back, every single day, and we’ll have yours.” -TW
This is the broadcast I watched

Designs of Happiness - Track A22
L4mps Main Story Translation
Title: Secret Diary Exchange
Characters: Yodaka, Nagi, Netaro, Toi, Daniel
Summary: The protagonist and co. visit the morning market to get some souvenirs for everyone. However, they need to do some damage control due to the crowds forming from the narrow and blocked passageways…
Thank you aca @/463ce6, myun @/myuntachis Niri @/Niri_riri and jes @/arcanecrayonn for helping me with proofing!
Location: Hakodate Free Market
Momiji: The morning market sure is lively, huh!
Yodaka: It seems that even the local chefs come here to get their ingredients. That goes to show what an excellent marketplace this is.
Yodaka: We should get some souvenirs for Danny and Toi.
Momiji: Leaving aside the Manager, who couldn’t even be bothered to wake up, I hope Toi-kun feels better soon…
Nagi: *sniffing* Huh, I smell something good, it’s making me hungry.
Netaro: Look over there! It seems they’re selling this “fish bone broth” along with a helping of rice!
*Nagi moves away from Netaro*
Nagi: ……
Momiji: You mean fish bone soup. Along with Hakodate’s specialty squids, you can also buy portions of sashimi and salmon roe here, and even share it with others!
Yodaka: So you can enjoy fresh seafood on the spot? That is a lovely service for the tourists to enjoy.
Momiji: Yes! It’s worth observing together later!
Momiji: (At least, that’s what I’d like to do, but…)
Tourist A: Hmm, this aisle is too narrow, isn’t it…?
Tourist B: That just goes to show how popular this market is, packed with all these goods, but…
Tourist C: Which store is this queue for? I don’t knooooww.
Tourist D: Kazuo! Watch your step, or you’ll trip over those boxes!
Momiji: (The path is blocked by tourists and piles of boxed goods… Alright, it’s time to get into work mode…!)
~~~(Hospitality Battle)
Momiji: Good, we managed to tidy up some of these goods while providing hospitality! This should make it easier for all the tourists to travel through the area!
Yodaka: Oh? It seems we’ve lost sight of Netaro.
Nagi: Ah, he ran ahead to the squid-fishing corner.
Yodaka: My… He seems to possess an odd innocence about him, almost as if he were a child.
Yodaka: When I think about how I, too, must have been at that age, I can’t help but feel nostalgi— kh.
*ringing noise*
Momiji: (Huh? Yodaka-san is rubbing between his brows…)
Momiji: What’s wrong? Are you alright?
Yodaka: …My apologies, it seems I was suddenly overcome by a headache.
Nagi: Oh, do you need to rest?
Yodaka: It’s alright, this happens often. More importantly, I wonder if ten will suffice.
Momiji: Ten of what?
Yodaka: Crabs. It seems like they’ll deliver them in a cooler box. To our friends back in HAMA House, that is.
Momiji: Wha– But those are Red King crabs…
Nagi: Just one of those costs about half a month’s worth of food for me…
Yodaka: Oh, the scallops look delicious as well. Miss, I’d like to buy 30 of these. Perhaps I should also get some squid and salmon and have Yukikaze prepare a seafood hot pot.
Momiji: A-Are you sure it’s okay to buy so much?
Yodaka: Hm? Well, the place is full of growing young men. Don’t worry, I’m sure there won’t be any leftovers.
Momiji: (How dandy of him…!)
Momiji: L-Let me help you! What will you be doing, Nagi-kun?
Nagi: Oh… I’d like to help too, but there’s a shop I’ve been meaning to visit…
Momiji: Got it. I’ll see you later!
~~~
Nagi: Excuse me, I’d like those roses, sprigs of lavender, wisteria and azalea.
Nagi: Yes. Please send all of these to the hotel addressed here. Thank you very much…
Nagi: (Okay… I managed to secure more flowers to give away. These should last me for the rest of the trip.)
Nagi: Hm?
Netaro: Nyam nyam. Haa~ Every bead of this salmon roe has such elasticity!
Nagi: (Netaro’s eating at the food court, all alone…)
Nagi: …….
Netaro: It truly feels as though I’m consuming life itself. I’m certain this is what it would taste like. And then there is this crab fish bone broth!
Nagi: ……
Netaro: Fish bone broth… Or was it fish bone soup? Hm… I’m not certain...
Nagi: Fish bone soup.
Netaro: ! Gii!
Nagi: …I wanted to check on you.
Netaro: You. Weren’t you avoiding me because you were traumatized?
Nagi: Ugh.
Netaro: Are you not afraid anymore?
Nagi: …No, I’m still scared.
Nagi: …I could have just ignored you, but—
Nagi: I thought that maybe you’ve been alone all this time, so I decided against it.
Netaro: …Hm?
Nagi: Being so far away from your home… Well, I don’t know how far, but seeing you eating salmon roe all alone, with no friends or family here on Earth…
Nagi: …I figured you might be feeling lonely.
Netaro: “Lonely.”
Nagi: Yeah. Sometimes you feel lonely when you think about your family or friends, right?
Netaro: Friends…
Netaro: Ohh~! The squid at the fishing corner looked exactly like my superior, it was hilarious! I couldn’t bring myself to eat it, in the end.
Nagi: Oh, uh… Is that so…
Netaro: Why would you become “lonely” when you think of family or friends?
Nagi: Huh, do aliens not understand what that feels like? Maybe there’s a fundamental difference here…
Netaro: ……
~~~(flashback)
Boy: Netaro… Do you simply not feel lonely? If that’s the case, you probably won’t understand…
~~~(end flashback)
Location: Hakodate Free Market
Netaro: ……
Nagi: Netaro?
Netaro: Humans feel lonely when they are alone, yes? There was a human who taught me that before.
Nagi: Yeah. Being alone is unfortunate, and makes you feel lonely.
Nagi: Even though there’s all this tasty salmon roe here, not having anyone to share it with would be unfortunate.
Nagi: Having someone with you all the time will double your happiness—
Netaro: Double!? What logic is at play here!?
Nagi: If you’re together, then sad things are halved…!
Netaro: On what basis!?
Nagi: Being able to share your life with someone else is when you can feel happiness for the first time. I’m sure. Probably. No, that’s definitely the case. I guarantee it.
Netaro: What a profound mystery!
Nagi: You haven’t been here that long, after all. As a representative of earth, I should help teach you this stuff.
Netaro: How reliable! Thank you!
Nagi: (Huh? I think I’m not scared anymore…)
Nagi: (Netaro feels more like some innocent kid now.)
Momiji: What’s got you so excited?
Nagi: Ah, Chief.
Netaro: Gii was teaching me how being alone is unfortunate, and lonely.
Momiji: W-Woah, that’s a pretty serious topic, huh…
Nagi: Oh, um, not really…
Momiji: Hmm, well, there’s many different ways to live your life… But to put it simply, I’d say that’s true.
Netaro: Mmm, I want to learn more!
Momiji: Oh, Yodaka-san’s here now. If you’re done eating, let’s leave too.
Nagi: Okay.
Netaro: …Gii, you—
Netaro: You too, say the same things that he did.
~~~
Toi: Uugh… *sniffling*
Location: Hakodate - Hotel Room
Toi: (I’ve been doing the diary exchange all this time, but…)
Toi: (I wonder how many times I’ve cried over Aa-chama’s replies now…)
Toi: *sniffling*
*sound of pages flipping*
Toi: “Why is Ani-sama avoiding me?”
“Perhaps he believes his life will be curtailed were he to remain with you.”
“However, just as one cannot replace their blood, it is a futile effort.”
“Shall I lend you my power?”
Toi: ……
Toi: If I borrow Aa-chama’s power, will Ani-sama return to me…? Will he never leave my side again…?
Toi: ……
Location: Hakodate - Hotel Lounge
Daniel: PT~ Lookie here!
??: “Nyaa”
Daniel: There’s a good kitty, I’ll be home soon, okay? Be good and wait for me~
Momiji: Daniel-san, what are you… Oh! PT!
Momiji: You’re looking at the pet camera feed, huh. Nayuki is looking after her, right?
Daniel: Yeah. But lookin’ at this just makes me wanna get home sooner!
Yodaka: So the little one we see around HAMA House is Danny’s cat?
Netaro: There was a cat!? I’d like to pet it!
Nagi: Me too. Getting scratched is not a problem for me.
Daniel: Why are you so sure you’re gonna get scratched…
Daniel: PT is the cutest cat in the whole wide world! I’ll introduce ya when we get back.
Momiji: I’m sure Shuumai will sulk if PT gets all the attention.
Netaro: That green peas never comes near me any more…
Momiji: (I do remember Shuumai barking up a storm when Netaro first showed up…)
Yodaka: That reminds me, what are we doing for dinner tonight?
Momiji: Oh, we hadn’t decided yet, huh.
Momiji: The hotel’s buffet requires a reservation so… We’d have to eat at the restaurant below, or eat outside…
Toi: Daimon Yokocho.
Momiji: Woah, you surprised me, Toi.
Toi: Our destination is Daimon Yokocho.
Momiji: Huh?
Netaro: Toi~ You’ve awoken?
Toi: …Silence.
Toi: On your feet. We shall meet outside.
Momiji: (He just left…)
Netaro: ……
Daniel: Wha– What’s up with him? Something seems off…
Momiji: I was thinking the same… Is it because of what happened with Ryui-kun…?
Yodaka: Is this the answer he came to, beyond his depression?
Daniel: I don’t really know about kids these days.
Nagi: ……Changing how you speak, suddenly becoming distant…
Nagi: *gasp*
Nagi: Maybe he’s at that age…
Yodaka: Are you talking about…?
Daniel: Ah… You mean the type to look at a stormy sky all serious and go “it’s coming…”
Nagi: Wrapping their arms in bandages…
Momiji: Aw, c’mon, Toi-kun’s actually a year older than you, you know?
Daniel: Well, this kinda stuff depends on the person.
Netaro: I have absolutely no clue what this conversation is about.
Yodaka: We’re talking about how we should go along with Toi’s change in attitude, Netaro.
Netaro: I see!
Nagi: When he goes back to normal, forget everything. Just pretend like nothing ever happened.
Daniel: That’s the perfect attitude to have as an adult.
Momiji: Alright, let’s go with that.
Momiji: (I’m worried about Toi-kun… We should find Ryui-kun quickly so that he can return back to normal…!)
Note:
Chapter 11 of At Your Service (Rated MA) is live on AO3! Here's a snippet from the chapter:
--
“Why did you run? Because you thought I had been flirting?”
She gaped at him. How could he be so clueless? Her cheeks flashed hot, her head spinning.
Before she could think better of it, she blurted out, “No, you stupid fox! It’s because you said you had no interest in a human woman!”
“And why would that bother you?” he retorted. “I thought you would be relieved to hear I was not interested in those women!”
Something inside her snapped. She ground her teeth together, sitting on the edge of her seat, her eyes flashing wildly. “Because I’m a human, you dumbass!”
The ears on his hat actually turned backwards and down from the force of his reaction. He leaned away from her, pupils blown wide, his lips parted and the tips of his fangs showing. It was like he held his breath, frozen in place like an animal cornered by a predator. She could only pant, her blood rushing palpably through her veins, tremors wracking her limbs. Why wasn’t he saying anything?
Surprise self-rec time! Pick 3 of your favorite things you’ve written and share them here, then put this in the inbox (anonymously or not) of your fellow writers to spread the positivity and help celebrate already written fics 💞
I spent a ridiculously long time overthinking this, primarily because I literally could not choose a favorite of my Kingdom Hearts fics. So I'm cheating! I'm basically picking 3 fics from 3 different fandoms, just so I can be indecisive about KH.
Final Fantasy XV
1. At the top of this one I'm going to have to put Hardest of Hearts. This is purely because it was my first foray into the crackship that would end up eating my life, and I have to thank it for its service.
2. Equally well-loved is Sir Stabby and Friends. I had so much fun creating little robot friends for Prompto to make! And the unexpected OT4 was a nice bonus.
3. And a VERY close second to those is going to be Jewel of the Sea. I love soulmate fics SO MUCH y'all don't even understand, but I very rarely end up writing them. And despite it being another rarepair I feel like it really helped me flesh out my voice for Prompto and Dino.
Fullmetal Alchemist
1. This fandom is significantly easier, though I do have to do bonus cheating for this. Number one is Ruin the Sky. You will pry my scifi AUs out of my cold, dead hands.
2. Next is going to be Nine Lives Cafe. This one was just fun to write! And there was a surprising amount of thought put into it in the background, although I'm sad to say I'm sad to say that I lost my notes for continuing it several years ago and it's doomed to be ""completed"" as is.
3. And finally the part where we double cheat: the Dragon Scars series. It is the most self-indulgent thing I've ever written in my life. Mark my words, one day I WILL finish writing this bitch.
Kingdom Hearts
And finally, the reason for the cheating: I literally can't pick a favorite of these three.
1. Time of Your Life. Listen, 99.9% of the stuff I write is fluff or at least has a happy ending. And some sort of AU. This stupid crackship fic is a tragedy, entirely canon, and I am actually very pleased with the pacing of it. And, seriously, it's the only thing I ever finished that doesn't have a happy ending. I can't help but love it.
2. The Song That No One Sings. Another one for the crackships, but otherwise the polar opposite of the above. It's just a soft, simple urban fantasy romance. I do wish I'd actually fully fleshed out the worldbuilding for this, but we can't have everything.
3. The Forest. Not for any particular reason, I'm just still very fond of the fairy tale style writing I did. But I'm still sad that this remains my least read/liked fic for this fandom.
(And I'd also like to throw out honorable mentions to The End of the Beginning and Crumpled Memories, the two Good Omens fics I don't entirely hate. As well as Best Friends, a deeply unserious Ronin Warriors fic that basically wrote itself.)
Hii!
Im kh, born 6th July 2002 at 7:25 in the morning, in Zagreb, Croatia
Im wondering when and what is coming for me in love? I never dated :/
Thamk you!!!
Hi😊 Same I've never dated👌Single club😘
For your reading I am going to use mostly vedic astrology.
I think you are most likely going to meet someone during this year until 2025.
This person could actually be a potential marriage or long term partner👀because in D1 chart you have 7th lord saturn in taurus conjunct rahu in 9th house and currently jupiter is transiting taurus (future spouse meeting). This to me indicates that this person might be a foreigner, from a different culture, spiritual or religious, unique, stable, mature, older than you and the relationship could be karmic.
Another indicator that shows this meeting: Looking at your D7 chart you have saturn in rohini Taurus. When jupiter, saturn, rahu/ketu are transiting in the same or opposite sign of sun, saturn, rahu/ketu in D7 chart it indicates a major event might happen during this time of your life like meeting your future spouse or a partner, engagement, pregnancy, career,success,fame, breakup, divorce etc.(This technique is by Camila Regina from tiktok).
By using solar return 7th lord sign and 7th house energy we can see what kind of person you will meet, probably one of his big 3 placements and how your relationship would be.
You actually have 7th house cancer amd mercury which means this would be a very deep emotional connection. You will express your feelings with each other, knowing intuitively what the other person is feeling. Communication is going to be very important in this relationship.
With 7th lord gemini moon in your 6th house conjunct sun and venus he will be someone very nurturing, sensitive, expressive, creative, open hearted, romantic, attractive, dual nature, likes teasing and flirting, communicative, analytical, intelligent, health conscious, hardworking, might be oversensitive, critical (virgo house), materialistic and greedy, loves nature and animals. I can see dates around nature, doing chores together, cooking for each other, helping each other (acts of service).
The 7th lord is also aspecting saturn by 9th aspect (trine in tropical) so he might be emotionally mature, practical, organized and self reliant.
One of his big 3 placements could be same or opposite sign of 7th lord so gemini or Sagittarius.
Since this person could be your fs he can embody your Darakaraka ( cancer punarvasu jupiter conjunct mars in 1st house) characteristics: he could be very similar to you like physical features or personality(1st house), someone wise, family oriented, wealthy, who will teach you a lot of things, spiritual, very generous and giving (could be too much that others could try to take advantage of his nature either in a material or an emotional form), ambitious, strong, determined, passionate and very lucky/fortunate encountering obstacles, famous, very attractive to women, can be protective of his family and loved ones .
Since the mars is debilitated in cancer and conjunct jupiter he could experience bursts of anger, intense emotions that could lead to lack of judgement/decision-making, could be impatient when achieving his goals.
Your DK is actually ruled by moon in aries krittika 10th house so someone who could be very courageous,driven, goal oriented, good advisor, workaholic (10th house), could have strong opinions, cutthroat (hurt other people with his words perhaps at work).
When it comes to appearance fs would have a larger/round/soft features on his face, body or chest; could have red or dark brown undertones (skin/hair); could be muscular think of the Aquaman actor Jason Momoa build; more average height but could be short; legs/thighs could be unique, beautiful and thinner perhaps they have tattoos.
You could find more from Camila Regina tiktok🤌
For your future spouse career I am trying out this tecnique the 10th sign from 7th lord in D1 or D9 could indicate possible fields. In your case it's aquarius D1 so anything related to Internet, technology, science, creativity, free-lancer, arts, music, dancing,spirituality, politics, astrologer, tarot reader, media/influencer, entrepreneur etc; in D9 it's capricorn so boss, CEO, engineering, medicine, finances, business scientist,entrepreneneur, politics,law, media, production, advertising, etc .
Regarding your meeting, pay attention to symbolisms of Sagittarius: horse, arrow, Bow, education, travel,etc. (This technique is by Camila Regina on tiktok💗)
Vedic Astrology placements:
Gemini/ Sagittarius/ Cancer/Capricorn/Aries/Libra/Scorpio/Taurus
Jupiter/mars/saturn/rahu nakshatras or influence
Okay I think I am done😅 I hope you like this reading if you do leave feedback on my page🙏 And let me know if it resonates👌it helps improving my readings🫶💜
Yet Another Kingdom Hearts Revisit, Part VI
Atlantica is my favorite world in KH I. It may be my favorite world in the entire series. That isn't because I love the movement mechanics of the underwater world, though I do enjoy them. And it's not because I love the storytelling in this world, though I do think it's a brilliant section for plot, character, and lore (more on all those momentarily). It's my favorite because Ariel is an option for your battle party.
That might seem a slight reason, but The Little Mermaid is not only one of my favorite Disney films, but one of my favorite films full stop. Depending on my mood on a given day, it may take the top slot on a Disney list. But the one substantive issue I have with it is a big one: despite Ariel being the heroine, every other element of the film existing to service her story, she has almost nothing to do with defeating the villain who manipulated and betrayed her. Worse, she ends up a damsel in distress at the bottom of whirlpool. For Kingdom Hearts to make Ariel a party member who can fight against Ursula - in both forms - was so gratifying the first time I played this game, and it's remained so ever since. If KH III deserves credit for nothing else, bringing back Ariel as a Link Summon (the most useful one after Simba IMO) was a great move, but combat-ready Ariel in your party as part of a story that pays off all her talents and personality still takes the cake, and it's one of the best things this series has ever done with a Disney character. (It also removed the only possible rationale for giving The Little Mermaid the live action remake treatment, but I'll spare you my thoughts on that ongoing enterprise today.)
Ariel's dynamic with Sora is also one of the strongest between him and a Disney character from outside Mickey's realm. They've got a nice big sister-little brother vibe. Had the Kingdom Hearts TV series ever panned out, it would've been great to see that expanded on. But there's also some nice thematic work achieved through their relationship, Ariel's wanderlust mirroring Sora's from earlier in the game and Sora having become world-weary by that point. Given how pronounced that quality became in KH II, it's a shame that aspect couldn't have been tapped again.
And then there's King Triton, better-versed in Keyblade lore than Sora, Riku, the Traverse Town crew, and even Genie. Whoever's idea that was in the writing process, it was a great choice, and well-placed within the narrative. Had the possibility of a destructive Keyblade master come up too soon, it might have made it too easy to predict some of the twists in Hollow Bastion; too late, and there wouldn't have been time for a sense of foreboding to build. Though I do wish the graphics of the time would have let Triton's destruction of the crystal trident been a little more like his attack on the grotto from the film (the scariest scene in a Disney film for little-kid-me).
Gameplay wise, I prefer Ursula's first stage to the second. Once you get the hang of avoiding their attacks, the big-head enemies in KH I are a little too easy IMO. The first stage is more involved. On the other hand, defeating the big-head Ursula with Ariel in the party is a more cathartic experience, for all the reasons mentioned above.
Finally, I'd be curious to learn more about the music decisions for KH I. How did Atlantica and Halloweentown come to be the only worlds (besides the Disney Castle cutscenes) to use music from their respective films? I'm glad they did; playing along to "Under the Sea" is great. But Yoko Shimomura could certainly have come up with something fitting.
