If I was writing for Mass Effect I would have more of the LI's get together if they weren't with Shepard. Kasumi and Jacob would've 100% happened instead of that mess with Brynn. I could definitely see Kaidan getting the favor of the Shadowbroker if you know what I mean.

In a stunner Garrus would absolutely have a thing for Ashley considering how Turian culture is and Ashley as a career Military woman? Issa wrap. Tali start of Jealous of and then be really into Miranda, and Jack would absolutely start to turn 'nice' to avoid Samara's bad side if you catch my drift.

EDI 100% calls Traynor's bluff and Kelly would take a special interest in Thane (who lives btw)

Local Author Event: Seattle Samurai

Kelly Goto's new book, Seattle Samurai: A Cartoonist's Perspective of the Japanese American Experience, is a commemoration of the life and work of not just her father, but also the early Japanese immigrants of Seattle and those who came after. This beautiful coffee table book celebrates the art and life of Kelly's father, Sam Goto, and features many strips from his 2012-2018 comic strip Seattle Tomodachi, alongside gorgeous photography. Sam was a longtime Seattle and Mercer Island resident and began Seattle Tomodachi at the encouragement of his wife, Dee, as a way to help fund the Japanese Community and Cultural Center of Washington's (JCCCW) weekly ad in The North American Post, Seattle's Japanese American newspaper. Now, Kelly is releasing this book as a way to honor her father and his part in Seattle history.

Seattle Tomodachi is a must-read for those interested in the history of the Japanese community in Seattle and the wider Pacific Northwest. The comic follows the fictional Shigeru Tomo (influenced by the life of real Shigeru Osawa, believed to be the first second-generation Japanese born in Seattle) as he strives to live the samurai way. Shigeru's adventures are also inspired by Sam's own experiences and those of Seattle's Japanese American community: the building and funding of the new Japanese Language School in downtown, the importance of Japanese merchants in the Klondike Goldrush, the founding of Uwajimaya (one of my favorite stores to visit for a wander), the discrimination many Japanese American's faced. Full of the values that Sam believed in and passed down to his children, this book exemplifies the joy that Sam lived his life with.

Join us and local author Kelly Goto on Wednesday, October 23 from 6:30 to 8:00pm, to celebrate the launch of her book, Seattle Samurai: A Cartoonist's Perspective of the Japanese American Experience. We can't wait to celebrate with these Mercer Island residents and longtime friends of the bookstore! Unterwegs werde ich Artikel für Atlas & Boots schreiben, Reiseberichte für das Asian Bride Magazin einreichen und die eine oder andere Kommission übernehmen, um unsere Reisekasse aufzufüllen. Wie viele meiner Altersgenossen verbringe ich beängstigend viel Zeit vor einem Bildschirm, sei es ein Desktop auf der Arbeit, ein Laptop zu Hause oder ein Smartphone zwischendurch – und das möchte ich unterwegs vermeiden. Diese Angst erinnerte mich an ein Konzept, das ich von der Gründerin von Gotomedia, Kelly Goto, gelernt hatte: das Konzept von Yoyu. Yoyu ist japanischen Ursprungs und obwohl es in der englischen Sprache kein Äquivalent gibt, bedeutet es grob übersetzt "der Raum zwischen den Dingen". Kelly, die häufig von einem Meeting zum nächsten eilt – manchmal auf verschiedenen Kontinenten – wurde einmal von ihrer Mutter gesagt, dass sie nicht genug Yoyu habe; sie ließ nicht genug Platz zwischen den Dingen. Es ist etwas, das mich wirklich berührt hat. Ich sage nicht, dass es etwas Edles oder Bereicherndes hat, vier Stunden lang auf eine Flugzeugtragfläche zu starren oder auf einer Busfahrt 80 Meilen grauen Asphalt zu beobachten, aber jeden Moment mit Aktivität zu füllen, zehrt an dem Raum zwischen den Dingen. Ich werde mich bewusst bemühen, mein Telefon, meinen Laptop und meinen Kindle an einem schwer zugänglichen Ort zu platzieren, zumindest auf Teilstrecken langer Reisen, damit ich es genießen kann, einfach etwas Zeit zu haben. 2. Watching their prisoner's reaction with curious interest, Isabela frowns at the woman's shift in demeanour as she seems to retreat the moment Garrus looks at her. For someone who seemed so adamant that she would die for the turian, she certainly had an odd way of showing it once presented with the man himself.

"She says her name is Wren Shepard - presumably no relation, but who knows?" she offers in their shared tongue, glancing up at him to see if there's any indication that he recognises the name beyond the shared family name. She goes on to explain everything they know so far, how the woman simply appeared on the ship, how she knew about Garrus's true identity when no one else should have been aware he was even in this sector of space, the rather mad claims she made about their present being her past, and how Isabela will be reaching out to Bau in hopes of getting assistance from the salarian Spectre with acquiring something from STG to help determine if the woman is telling the truth.

When Garrus offers to help with the interrogation, Isabela shakes her head, looking at him in fond exasperation. "You know normally I wouldn't argue with your expertise in the area, Gare, but for now, you need to recover and heal," she murmurs, reaching up to tug him down to her level to press her forehead to his crest affectionately, relief that he's still alive lending itself to her public affection. "Please, Garrus... Get some rest. I'll be up as soon as I'm finished up here."

It's clear that he doesn't want to go - not liking leaving her alone, especially with Nihlus accompanying him to their cabin - but eventually the weariness is too much to handle and keep him on his feet as he grumbles an agreement and lets the older turian help him back to the elevator.

Once the pair were on their way, Isabela turns her focus back on the other human, one brow raised high in silent judgement as she notes, "If what you say is true, and you're some other... me, from a different universe... I don't know if you're more dangerous to have off ship in someone else's hands, or to have you here - especially if your history is as close to mine as it appears at first glance...
