"Hey, Grunt!"

"Yeah?" Grunt looked up from his meal and squinted at the approaching human. The pilot. Joker. It wasn't often the brittle human would leave his station in the cockpit. "What is it?" The young krogan noted the lack of EDI, the AI in her robotic body often served as asistance to the man.

Joker carefully sat down by the mess table. "You know how Shepard is kind of like your dad?"

Grunt frowned. "Shepard is my Battlemaster, not my father."

"Yeaah but like she takes you out like shooting and gifted you that new shotgun and didn't she bail you from C-Sec, again, last time we were on Citadel? That's kinda like prime dad behaviour," Joker argued his case.

"Where are you getting with this human?" Grunt tilted his head, smelling some sort of trick.

"Nowhere, really, just food for thought," Joker said. "It just makes you think how she you, and Garrus make for a very disfunctional family. So I was you know, trying to organize the dynamics."

"Heh," Grunt grinned. "Don't worry, you too are in my krant. Despite your squishiness."

"Right, thanks Grunt. Anywhoo!" Joker slowly stood up. "I should go, the Normandy won't fly itself."

"It is flying itself, though," Grunt noted but Joker waved his hand and limped away to the elevator.

Grunt returned to his meal but his mind was slowly churring the conversation. Then he paused, looked in the direction of Joker. "Heheheh."

"Team Reunion Friday" was the best idea that Kasumi and Tali came up with. The old squadmate crew of Shepard all together for a night of drinks and shenaningans in Shepard's apartment post-war. Everyone was in high spirits. Shepard was sitting at the top of the table, in her wheelchair raising a toast. "To Normandy!"

"Here, here!" Everyone responded.

Just as they were downing the drink Grunt turned to Commander. "Shepard."

"Grunt?"

"You have been the closest a tank bred could have to a father," he said with a grin.

"Aww, thank you Grunt."

"Does this make Vakarian my mother?"

The bomb was dropped, most guests started to choke on their drinks, some stared, Joker grinned like it was Christmas.

"Well..." Shepard looked at Garrus.

"Now, hold on Shepard-" the turian started.

Among the sputtering a loud laughter boomed among the crew, much to the embarrassement of one Garrus Vakarian. Grunt grinned. Later when the jokes and jabs at Shepard's boyfriend ceased Grunt stopped by Joker.

"You owe me a bottle of ryncol."

"I'll make it two, buddy," Joker replied grinning at the recording. It would strike him gold on the extranet.

"Good, hehehe."

I honestly hope they have a Krogan romance option in the next Mass Effect 😫

I think there are a few ways they can do this.

1) Romance does not equal sex! Have the flirting and dating but no sex.

2) Make them a smaller krogan. This can be from plain ol' genetics or maybe some sort of experiment.

3) Have a Mordin like character give us the needed advice to be safe.

4) Make the playable character bigger. Again, this could be from genetics or experimentation.

Listen no spoilers please, but I've been TEARING through Mass Effect Legendary edition and I get it now. I understand why people adore these games, and MY GOD ME3 is straight up making me sob in the club with some of these lines and scenes.

Ch. 1. Proof of life

The first camera was a gift.

After Admiral Hanna Shepard's funeral the Commander wanted to go through all the storage lockers and the attick containing all the Shepard family legacy. The old Normandy crew volunteered so it wasn't just Vakarian and Shepard. Even the Prothean, taking a break during the 2nd book writing with Liara decided to help. 

The camera was old. Javik scoffed at it grumbling his usual 'Primitives' line as Shepard explained what it was and how it worked. It belonged to a long gone relative who took it up as a profession. There was also a photo album containing their work in the same box. Javik flipped through it at first in a mildly contemptuous curiosity but as he studied the photos - seconds of life captured on a square piece of plastic - he found himself drawn to it. The grainy quality of the pictures, memories of life long gone, people that once lived and left a small mark captured in this photo album. The world after Reapers was still loud, too bright for him but these old photos sparked something in him. In a way, in a very primitive way, these were like Echo shards of his people.

Shepard noticed the contemplating look on his face.

"You can take it," she said, nudging the box containing the photography equipment and albums. "Better it goes to you than gathering dust here."

He bristled at first trying to cover up his emotions and opened his mouth to sneer at the 'primitive technology' but he noticed Liara behind Shepard's back giving him a hopeful smile. He instead nodded, closed the box and carried it outside the storage warehouse.

It was a bit of a hassle to figure out how to actually work the camera. Even more to learn how to make the photos look how he wanted. Liara encouraged him. She happy that he found an interest other than guns when he wasn't by her side uncovering new Prothean relics and trying to claim the tools they found as 'worship objects' while they were simply a nose pick or toilet seat. Good thing he was good at dodging the projectiles she'd throw at him for trying to troll her.

Those were his first photos. Angry Liara, exasperated Liara, Liara annoyed. Happy Liara, deep in thoughts Liara, Liara with her mouth stuffed with some sort of dessert and panic in her eyes as she realized he captured her image. There were also his private Liaras, the ones he wouldn't share with anyone. Some of the photos were shit of course - blurry or with a sun flare, random finger in the lens. But he got better, learned from his mistakes. Eventually he expanded his subjects to citizens of colonies they visited as well as Citadel. Hanars were more than happy to pose even when he didn't want them to.

Though, Tali Zorah would still give him grief over the photographies of himself.

"You take selfies like a grandpa," she teased him.

"I do not see the point in them," he gruffed, brushing her off.

"It would be a nice change of pace though if you included yourself a bit more in these," Liara added quietly, browsing through his latest work. "More proof you have been here..."

His eyes lingered on her and she blushed turning her head away from him.

He invested in better tripods and studied carefully how to take proper 'selfies'. He didn't like the dronesand VIs so all his cameras were purely mechanical. His Liara collection now increased in photos with him in them.

The ultimate test came from Shepard again.

"I want you to do some photography at my wedding," she told him.

"Won't the combined Allience and Hierachy broadcast the whole thing?" Javik looked at her skeptical.

"That will be the 'official' one. We want to do a small, candid ceremony before the circus one. I want something genuine," she said.

"We thought since you really can handle the whole thing, you'd be perfect fit for it," Vakarian added.

"It just has to be genuine, Javik." Shepard smiled softly.

He agreed.

He did it. Captured the laughs of his past comrades, the slackjawed awe of Vakarian when he saw Shepard walking down the short aisle. The dancing, drinks, the party. As he was developing photos after the reception, looking through photos of Jack making out with Miranda, Grunt catching the bouqet, Wrex completely covered in krogan toddlers and kids, mournfully watching others being drunk he noticed a few photos he didn't take. Photos of him, toasting with James, swapping stories with Joker, attacked by krogan children, holding Liara's hand. He stared at them for a long while. He was there, he lived. He will be remembered.

What would Titus’s favorites movie genre? Does he have a favorite movie?

Music: Planet Supreme - They Spoke To Us

Growing up in the Orbital Colonies, Orion 13 Specifically, Titus's entertainment interests have always been War Games. Every year the games are held and hosted at the Crystal Palace. Powerful families like Atreides, Azimuth, and Volkov; to name a few. They bring their children and they connect into a deep dive simulation of Celestial Conquest. Simulating large scale battles with their most advanced tech. Battle Cruisers firing energy cannons and kinetic weapon systems blitzing through the vacuum of space.

If you've ever read Red Rising, a novel by Pierce Brown, the series has a depiction of galactic war much like this. It would also be a good comparison for reference.

So the question, what is his favorite movie genre? Movies about grand scale battles and the feats performed within. Particularly in space. Something along the lines of Mass Effect meets EVE Online.

The movies are essentially scrolled footage of previous War Games or dramatic recreations of them. These simulations include civilians. The players must choose how to deal with them, how to help or oppress them. Whatever tactics they choose to employ in order to achieve victory. While some families like Azimuth are known for their more altruistic approach, Atreides is known for oppression. Other families have other means of victory but Atreides has a history of conquest through dominance. It's these victories in the last 9 War Games that have secured their position as the most powerful family in the Orbital Colonies.

Titus has a fascination with conquest and heroic feats. The Atreides genetics at work. However; something that his family never noticed, aside from his sister, Artemis, is that he tends to sympathize with the commoners in these movies and games. Titus himself as won 4 out of the last 9 war games, his brother Pax having won the other most recent 5.

Titus won his through collaborative effort with the civilians aboard the enemy frigates and colonies, enacting similar tactics as Darrow in Morning Star, the second book of the Red Rising series. Link provided

I know that was a long winded answer but I don't get to elaborate on Titus's life much, so I apologize, I do not apologize.

As for his favorite movie, Prometheus.

A movie about many things, but I'll touch on the parts that make it special to him.

The subject of pre-human intelligent life, aliens, and inter-planetary travel. Architects of an advanced civilization leading early man into a new age.

Something to be said about this, is that after seeing this movie, Titus stopped thinking so much about winning War Games, and began to look even further away from Earth. Deeper into the stars, towards Jupiter's moon, Europa. Where Orbital Colonies Pisces 4 and Ursa 9 sent expeditions to establish moon colonies. He thinks about how he wants to be part of the first intelligent life on a planet. Earth isn't enough, its already there. He wants something new.

However; after our "Cosmic Angel" fell from grace, he has to worry more about how he'll handle this new hand in life. Will he return to the stars, or will he conquest assist Night City?
