Darren was understandably upset about his son choosing not to have a wedding party with the family, but didn't mean to pry too much. He also pretty much eloped with Darleen back in the day, since her parents didn't approve of them. He was more concerned about Dirk deciding to no longer be Dreamer and use the Capp name.

After a little nap, Miranda joined the two for a little "dinner". Another example of Douglas' amazing cooking skills. They didn't seem too bothered, at least. Even celebrated Dirk and Miranda's marriage with a little toast.

Ahhh I’m so glad you enjoyed it!! Wasn’t it beautiful? Who was your favorite character? I’m very partial to Miranda, myself.

I would definitely recommend reading the book if you enjoyed the adaptation. It’s a fast read, lots of short chapters, and really powerful writing. But here’s what I would say in answer to your question about how they differ: The HBO adaptation is almost more like fanfiction of the book, if that makes sense. The show is more of a “well what if this happened instead?” vs a true 1:1 live action version of the same story. Many of the main characters are extremely similar, but overall, in my mind, they’re two different stories set in the same world.

How did they first meet? Simple: she was looking for information, Aria had information to give. Their first meeting was… tense, but cordial; one might venture to even say they were friendly, a little. As friendly as a formerly-dead Spectre and an infamous criminal can be, anyway.

Who felt romantic feelings first? I’m going to wager… Kat. It’s painfully evidenced by the sheer gay panic she exhibited.

Did either of them try to resist their feelings? Both, and I think for different reasons, but one they share: privacy and commitment. They’ve both led turbulent lives, ones that aren’t really free of people spying and wanting to know their business. In Katrina’s case, she’s far more sensitive than she lets on, and I definitely think with her struggles to open up to anyone, that was a factor.

Who initiated their feelings first? Ooh, tough one. I am probably going to put that on Kat. I think she’s more likely to say something for her own sake, so that there’s no dancing around it or beating around the bush.

Who said “I love you” first? Probably Kat. She’s more the sappy one.

Who gets jealous easily? I think that’s probably both of them? Aria’s probably more likely to be vocal about it, Kat’s likely to be quieter about it but still just as jealous.

Who is more protective? Kat, probably. She has lost far too many people that are precious to her not to be. Not that she doesn’t trust Aria can’t take care of herself, but… There’s that underlying fear there.

Who remembers the little things? I’m going to go with both, though I think after the war given Kat’s mental state, it ends up being more Aria that remembers. Kat’s too all over the place and not really a functioning human being for a while.

Who talks about their feelings more? I want to say Kat—or at least, she tries to. Not talking about them has been an unhealthy coping mechanism for her, so she’s trying to talk about them more openly.

Who uses the cheesier pickup lines? Aria. No question. Kat’s not that smooth.

What does a first date look like for them? Drinking, probably. Drinking and either dancing or the casino.

What do they like to do together? Honestly, I see them visiting quieter things like art museums or the like. Kat is an artist so she’d feel at home there, and it’d be significantly quieter than the majority of their lives usually are. Things that are more low-key, maybe not even out in public, but quieter and away from the chaos that their lives bring.

Which one gets angry the most, leaving the other to calm them down? Aria has the more obvious temper, so I think Kat’s more likely to be the level-headed one calming her down. Kat has a very… calm fury, and she’s not as easily provoked.

Do they like PDA? Kat’s not particularly a fan of it; she enjoys the privacy, more accurately.

What are their big spoon / little spoon arrangements? Alternating, probably.

Does one like the cuddle more than the other? Specifically in private… probably Kat.

Who hogs the blankets? I’m going to go with neither. Kat probably wants her own separate blanket to prevent blanket-hogging. It’s just more efficient. (Also, she runs hotter than most humans because she’s a biotic, so… there’s that.)

Who’s more likely to initiate sex? Aria, hands down. Again, Kat’s not that smooth. She might as they get more comfortable, but it’ll last a whole thirty seconds before Aria’s got her gay panicking.

Who’s the kinkiest? Aria. No question. Kat is the furthest thing from kinky. There’s very little outside plain old vanilla that she’s into.

Who is the top and bottom in their sex life? Are they interchangeable? I’d say interchangeable, but Kat’s likely the more submissive one of the two.

Who likes giving and who likes receiving oral? Both, I’d say equally.

Can they last more than one round? Absolutely.

Which one is a morning person? Kat. It’s just part of military life. Plus, I think she’s more the type to want to get up earlier, get the day going, cook breakfast, etc.

Do either of them like to cook? Kat, given the opportunity and that she’s comfortable with it, actually enjoys cooking a lot. I think her specialty is more baking than cooking, but she can make some really good meals. She used to cook with her mother a lot, which is a contributing factor to why she can’t bring herself to cook any more.

If they get married, who proposes first? I feel like they wouldn’t, honestly. With the lifestyles they lead, something that binding would be too much… trouble for either of them. I also think, at least in Kat’s case, she doesn’t see it as a necessity or as important as others might. She wouldn’t be opposed to the idea, but it doesn’t have the same necessity to her. But if they did, it’s up in the air as to who would ask. I think they’re both just as likely to ask the other.

What kind of wedding do they have? Quiet, low-key, friends/close friends/family only. I don’t think Kat would settle for anything more than that.

Does anyone object to their relationship? @diewithaname’s muse would hate me forever if I didn’t point out that Ryker absolutely does (or at least, he’s very concerned with his little sister’s… decisions). Otherwise, I don’t think anyone is close enough to or has enough influence on Kat to stop her from doing what she damn well pleases.

Do they have any kids? Not with each other, no. Katrina’s neutral on the idea; she’s not opposed to it, but she’s not set on it, either. (Most of the work would be on Aria’s part, anyway, if at all.)

Do they have any pets? Katrina has fish and a pet hamster. Said hamster is surprisingly fond of Aria.

the sun is specifically associated with the right eye but its been hard for me to find examples of celebrities with one prominent eye lmao 😭so ill just tell you about the appearance of the eyes of solar natives in general. Solar eyes are the most easy to identify because they're usually the smallest/narrowest. these natives have small, long, narrow eyes with hooded eyelids/no eyelid space ( they don't have "double eyelids").

Life And Love On The ISS – Ekatarina ‘Kat’ Golovkina/Miranda North

A/N: Day 16 for @fanovember

It’s not fun, Kat thinks, being stuck in space and on a reality show. She knows Miranda’s words have hurt the boys feelings but in the end, it’s true. None of the men appeal, to either of them, so she speaks up when she’s asked for her thoughts. “None of these boys suit us… Miranda’s right… this whole programme is a waste.” Later, of course, cameras will find them together, Kat’s hand on Miranda’s back, the two finally finally risking trying something. They had tried to hide it, work it out before making it official but when they did finally come clean they were surprised with a clip of them together, the clip recorded earlier. Leaving the ISS comes with a promise, Ekatarina and Miranda will marry, for a Christmas Special. Miranda’s laugh rings as she agrees, Kat smirking as she agrees. It might not have been what the producers had planned but love had won in the end.

Wednesday: I ordered a fish and chips for myself and 7up. I had some chowder and fried clams. It was really good. You would enjoy it I think father. Seafood Shanty. Miranda would be lying if she said the swimwear choice wasn’t an intentional one. No, it was very intentional; she’d bought something that wasn’t too revealing, but left just enough visible that it created an irresistible allure. Not modest by any means, but not trampy either. It held everything in just right, yet it also allowed just the right amount of curvature for her… assets.

As always, Jane was a mess the moment Miranda put on her most confident look. Truthfully, Miranda was in her element here; it was when things got too feelsy that she started to lose steam. This wasn’t as emotionally riveting as such deep conversations had been, and they’d undoubtedly had a few of those. Even after this long, she could tell when Jane was struggling to resist (and trying not to stumble over her words).

“I’ve no problem with ulterior motives. It’s not like you’ll get them past me.” And that was the truth; Miranda was incredibly observant, and she took great care in knowing that sort of thing. Of course, Jane might’ve been one of the only people capable of surprising her… if only because Jane was one of the only people Miranda was willing to truly let her guard down around. If Jane had an ulterior motive and Miranda allowed it, then Miranda was more than open to it.

But Jane wasn’t the only one with ulterior motives. The swimsuit was entirely on purpose; she wanted to show off, wanted to tempt Jane, wanted to see just how far she could push the Commander until she flustered. So far, it seemed to be working; they didn’t even need the heat from the hot tub to warm things up.

Smirking, Miranda leaned a little closer, coming teasingly close to Jane’s lips before skirting past them, instead leaning toward her, their chests lightly brushing together as one hand traced the underside of Jane’s breast, her lips whispering in the woman’s ear. “I want to do a lot more than just kiss,” Miranda whispered in Jane’s ear before finding purchase at the corner of her jaw, lightly kissing below her ear and slowly, delicately down her neck.

Commander Shepard's cheeks flush slightly as she feels the heat rising to her face, a mix of embarrassment and amusement at Miranda's boldness. God, if she could just stop blushing anytime Miranda opens her mouth, that would be amazing. She just -- she can't help but be captivated by the other woman's confidence and charm.

"Well, I have to admit that your allure is quite… undeniable," Shepard replies, a playful twinkle in her eyes. "And you're right, there might be a slight ulterior motive behind my invitation. I mean, who could resist the opportunity to spend a night in a hot tub with such a stunning and intriguing woman like yourself?" She spreads her arms, before shrugging. Honesty never failed her before, and while she doesn't want to come across as overbearing with compliments, that is simply the truth.

Shepard can't help but let out a nervous chuckle, trying to lighten the mood as she continues, "I promise, my intentions aren't solely focused on being bewitched by your irresistible presence. I'm genuinely looking forward to unwinding and enjoying some quality time with you. And, uh, I must say, that swimsuit of yours…" She clears her throat. When she first saw it, she'll admit she had a difficult time and getting her gaze to cooperate and to look at the woman in the eyes. "It's absolutely stunning. You have impeccable taste, as always."

Shepard can't hide her slight awkwardness, but she is clearly receptive to Miranda's attentions, finding them both flattering and exciting. She respects Miranda's intelligence and admires her confidence, and while the situation might have caught her off guard, she is eager to see where the evening will lead them.

" I ---" and with Miranda's face so close to hers, it's really, really hard not to give in. To just have what she wants, and what she's fairly sure is a mutual feeling between them. She lets her gaze fall to the woman's lips, before flickering it back up. She's fairly certain had she not placed her hands on the woman's hips, they'd be slightly shaking. "I really, really wanna kiss you right now."
