Really?” Miranda’s voice is light even as she slips into place beside Kat, studying her quietly for a moment before she finally speaks again. “What starsign?” “Virgo.” Miranda’s smile is soft. “Libra… for what it’s worth.” Kat’s smile is quick and she sighs a little when Miranda pulls the papers away. “I thought you didn’t…” “I don’t.” Miranda’s answer is quick, her smile soft as she reads the horoscope for both of them. “Well, unless by some miracle we get back to earth in two days, these are very wrong…” Kat makes to move, standing to walk away and Miranda’s hand closes at her wrist, pulling her back down and into the bed fully, Miranda’s body curling around her, soft lips finding Kat’s ear. “I’m sorry KitKat…. It’s just not what I expected, you act so… practical…” “Practical would never have moved into this room with you…” Kat’s voice is teasing. “You can be such a brat, NorthStar, you’re lucky I love you.”

"nobody wants to work anymore" but a low paying casual retail job wants you to travel to a capital city you don't live in, which is a considerable distance and time travelled from you (when you actively have a branch of this shop in your LOCAL shopping centre, 15mins down the road); for a group interview assessment centre. they then make you CONGA LINE into the said group interview with party poppers and streamers. like ma'am. I don't care how "ironic hipster millennial and 90s nostalgia" and "life of the party" this brand is supposed to be. but I ain't conga lining into this interview like a fucking clown. fuck some hiring managers and HR depts, honestly.

god im going to have to do so much editing to this but im already kind of amused by how much im kinda. so the assumption is whenever anyone travels into a magical undersea kingdom they constantly see cool shit as they travel right. like theres stuff passing outside the windows and its cool.

and then as i write chapter 4 of caecilian its just. so much nothing. aaravi sees darkness and she sees blue. absolutely no other features. the merfolk are not commenting on this its fine to them, but theres just absolutely fucking nothing out there for aaravi to comment on. at this point she thinks the textures must have glitched out or something because its so entirely nothing that she doesnt know how to process this.

finally checking out the Snowpiercer series and so far my main take away is that a 90 minute film is just about the perfect amount of space for grappling with "apocalypse death train" as a serious grimdark dystopia concept, and more space than that gives the audience time to realize how silly "apocalypse death train" is when you think about it for too long.
