I need everyone doomsdaying in my inbox to remember that Kat is a journalist and some people are waiting for Ryan to say in an interview that the mustache is gay and that Eddie's in love with Buck and that buddie will be fucking nasty on 804. This is an interview that has been done before the season started airing, Ryan is probably talking about Eddie's identity the same way he has been talking about it the whole time. In my opinion, Kat is trying to get people's expectations back down. Ryan is not gonna confirm to a journalist he grew a beard because he wanted Eddie to have a gay mustache even if that was the case because that would be a major spoiler now that we know the mustache will play a part in Eddie's storyline but some of y'all are expecting it to be the case. The mustache is its own character, avoiding things that will spoil its purpose is definitely the expectation, but Kat knows people who follow her ship buddie and we are a bit too intense at times. Even more considering the fact that all it takes is one tweet from a journalist for everyone to lose their minds. Oliver spent the whole time before 704 talking about Buck redefining his relationship with himself. And now we have bi Buck. Take a breath, have some faith.

it is specifically saying that the commentary MUST come from a white man about shit happening in black culture. There are already a plethora of videos detailing whats happening in great length, but people will not listen to them because they are not done by a White Guy(tm).

if you want to take steps to avoid this, listen to non-white video essayists. theres a fuck ton, in whatever genre you like, that are routinely buried by popular white guys. take great care to not pigeon-hole creators into being "experts" on their minority status, watch and listen for other shit too.

She has a Bachelor's Degree in Communications and minor in Journalism through Marymount Manhattan College and a MFA in Writing and Producing Television from LIU Brooklyn.

Phil Falco is a New York-based comic book writer and the co-founder of Lifeline Comics. He is known for his creator-owned work on HAUNTING and Webtoon's Slice of Life, and as the co-creator and co-editor of anthologies Hairology: A Celebration of All Hair Types and Bi Visibility: A Bisexual Anthology.

We are giddy to announce that we are working with tabletop roleplaying legends Magpie Games to create Fallen London: The Roleplaying Game, a fully-fledged, custom tabletop roleplaying system for Fallen London, in a big book and everything!

In Fallen London: the Roleplaying Game, players create their own characters by drawing on the factions, archetypes, and settings of the city — cutthroats, socialites, radicals, academics, and other, stranger creatures. They are brought together by a shared ambition; a very nearly unachievable goal. Such ambitions may destroy or drive mad those who pursue them… or they may change London forever. The Heart, as they say, is Destiny’s engine.

Fallen London: The Roleplaying Game is slated for release in late 2025 along with a supplement, Fallen London: Secrets of the Neath. In addition, players will be able to complete their tools for gameplay with the Fallen London Dice Pack and Fallen London Gamemaster Screen. Gameplay will consist of proprietary game mechanics currently in development by Magpie Games. We're going to introduce the project in full on August 23rd at 16:00 EDT/21:00 BST in a live stream, hosted by friend, scholar, journalist, streamer and Doctor of the Internet Kat Brewster on their Twitch channel! A special celebration of the remarkable creative life of Sir Terry Pratchett, 40 years after the publication of the first Discworld novel The Colour of Magic.

This event takes place in the British Library and will be simultaneously live streamed on the British Library platform. Tickets may be booked either to attend in person, or to watch on our platform (online) either live or within 48 hours on catch up. Viewing links will be sent out shortly before the event.

Soon after The Colour of Magic was published, it inspired a young journalist Neil Gaiman to meet Terry, beginning a long collaborative friendship that was epitomised by their joint novel Good Omens, which appeared in 1990. The TV version of Good Omens was created by Neil Gaiman, with the first season on screen in 2019 and the second earlier this year.

Neil is joined Terry Pratchett’s biographer and former assistant Rob Wilkins, in a conversation hosted by Kat Brown.

The wind howls beyond the windows, blowing the snow across the sky in white streaks. A few flurries land upon the glass pane, perching themselves as if looking into the bedroom. Bucky cradles you against his body, your head resting on his chest with the steady rhythm of his heartbeat acting as a lullaby.

Whereas a frigid dawn inhabits the outside, inside on the plush bed, the arms of your beloved and the sheets that envelop your body keep you in a bundle of safety and warmth. Protecting you from the harsh winter and whatever else may ail you. 

What a shame it is you have to get up soon…

There is not one muscle in your body that wishes to move, but tonight is possibly one of the most important nights of your life and you would be lying if you said you weren’t stressing over how the night would go. In and out of a restless slumber as the moon departs for the day and the sun greets you once more. 

For the first time since you moved in together, you and Bucky are hosting a dinner for your friends, his family, and your family. It would be a gathering of at least ten others, not including yourselves, and neither you nor Bucky had ever taken on such a large hosting. Not only that, but you were finally meeting his parents and you wanted—no you needed—so desperately to make a good first impression. 

Everything had to be perfect—it just had to be.

Your limbs thrum with a heavy reluctance as you slowly slide your arms above his, attempting to gently pry them off from around you. However, Bucky has a strong hold on you even in his sleep, so your gentle prying does little to nothing to get him off. 

The last thing you want to do is wake him as he’s had a few hectic weeks at work. His client load went from two high-profile celebrities to seven, ever since he became one of the most successful agents at his talent agency. Thankfully, he’s taken the holidays off and getting some much-needed rest. Hence why finding a way to break free and not disturb his sleep is your main objective.

Since you couldn’t pry him off, you decide to try and slide out of his hold. Wiggling your hips ever so slightly to gradually scoot downwards on the bed. It seems to be working, but as soon as you free yourself he lets out a heavy sigh, causing you to freeze. You slowly tilt your head until you can catch a glimpse of him, relaxing when you notice he’s still fast asleep.

That is until his arms go to wrap themselves around nothing. The warmth of your body missing against his is enough to stir him awake. His eyes groggily blink open and when he sees the space next to him empty, they immediately search for you. When he spots you further down on the bed he frowns, his mind too dozy to register what you were trying to do.

“Hm? C’mere…” Bucky mumbles out, his morning voice gravelly with a gentle edge. He doesn’t let you move further away as he scoops you back into his arms, tucking your head into the crook of his neck and nuzzling his head on top of yours, before promptly going back to sleep. 

You huff out something between an annoyed groan and a soft laugh, realizing he wasn’t going to make this easy for you. As soon as you were back in his arms you found yourself snuggling into his warmth. You couldn’t help it as your body acted on instinct. Whenever he held you, you felt the utmost sense of belonging, almost like you had finally found your place in this world and it was wherever he was. It's a feeling you have lost yourself in from the moment he became yours.

“Bucky, I have to get up,” you whisper against his neck, placing a soft kiss on it. He responds by grumbling out a muffled no. You keep pressing sweet kisses into his skin with every whispered explanation and plea, hoping that would be enough to get him to listen. He doesn’t though, your plan backfiring as he basks in the kisses, even more determined now not to let you leave his side. 

“Sweetheart, I really have to go. There’s an errand I have to run,” your tone is slightly firmer when you notice the kisses are having the opposite outcome you want. At your tone, his eyes fly open, narrowing at you suspiciously, “I thought we agreed to take the holidays off.” You ignore the way his morning voice makes your heart stutter, brushing a few strands of tousled hair from his forehead while you nod, “We did. This isn’t work-related. There’s a list of things I have to go pick up from the store.”

At your explanation, his gaze softens, gently taking your hand from his forehead and placing a tender kiss into your palm, “You don’t need to worry about that. I bought everything already.” His response causes you to frown, unsure if you heard him right. 

“You what? No, I made a list and—”

“I know, darling. I saw the list and went out to get the items yesterday while you were reading in the study. You were so lost in your novel you didn’t notice I left.”

You stare at him with affectionate astonishment, a part of you still has trouble wrapping your head around not having to do everything on your own anymore. Bucky has always been attentive and supportive—even from before you moved in together—acts of service from him were a regular occurrence. Regardless, you sometimes struggle to let go of that control and mindset of doing everything on your own. Years of being independent and living alone—not only as a means of living but also as a way to prove yourself to others—had cost you the habit of relying on anyone when you needed it.

Despite that, Bucky has always been patient with you. Showing you time and time again that you can rely on him—that he is your person and the one who will always be there as a guiding light in the dark.

He smiles softly at your reaction, the ocean in his eyes hazy with exhaustion, and yet glimmering with a profound devotion. He leans forward to capture your lips in a deep kiss that eases your awe and reminds you how much he loves you.

He pulls away, his nose brushing against yours as he whispers, “You deserve rest, my love. You’re not alone anymore, you have me now. Always.” Your eyes drift away from his gaze, your apprehension returning for a brief second, “I know I have you, Bucky. I know that. It’s just…everything needs to be perfect tonight. If you bought everything already then I should get up and—” He silences you with another kiss, one that starts at your lips and then travels all across your face, showering every bit of you with a dose of love until your brain can only focus on him.

“We should get some rest, and later we’ll get up and prepare everything for tonight’s dinner,” he continues to pepper kisses across your face, trailing them down to your neck as he adds, “Everything will be fine. The dinner will be perfect because you’ll be there and I’ll be there and all those who we love and love us will be there too. That’s all we need, darling. We don’t need anything else.” He assures you kindly, his actions and words an effective remedy to your anxiety.

“And here I thought I was the one who had a way with words…” you laugh softly, giving in to his persuasion. A dreamy smile dances on your lips as you wrap your arms around his shoulders and snuggle closer to his body. He lets out a soft chuckle, pulling you in impossibly closer, “What can I say? I’m a man of many talents.” You can hear the grin in his voice, your eyelids growing heavier as the lullaby of his heartbeat returns.

“Sleep, my darling. We’ll figure everything out later. Together,” Bucky presses a tender kiss to your forehead before closing his eyes. You whisper out the quietest echo of the word together, before drifting off to sleep. Your heart is at ease, wrapped in the kind of peace only his embrace can offer—the feeling of home.

Parker Molloy at The Present Age:

This week, we watched as the world's richest man appeared to give a Nazi salute at Trump's post-inauguration rally. Twice. Then we watched as mainstream media outlets bent over backwards to avoid saying what we all saw. The New York Times went with "Elon Musk Ignites Online Speculation Over the Meaning of a Hand Gesture." The Washington Post opted for "Elon Musk gives exuberant speech at inauguration." Some local TV stations, as Marisa Kabas noted at The Handbasket, even cut their footage right before the first and most obvious salute. Meanwhile, as Tim Dickinson reported at Rolling Stone, neo-Nazis and white nationalists weren't shy about what they saw. Blood Tribe leader Christopher Pohlhaus shared the clip with SS lightning bolts, writing "I don't care if this was a mistake. I'm going to enjoy the tears over it." The Proud Boys Ohio chapter posted it with "Hail Trump!" White Lives Matter celebrated with references to "The White Flame." So why are mainstream outlets so reluctant to state the obvious? The answer lies in our broken defamation laws and the way wealthy individuals can weaponize them against critics. This is a legitimate free speech crisis.

NBC News reporter Kat Tenbarge explained on Bluesky: "It's difficult to overstate just how much professional journalists have been trained to fear defamation lawsuits and how much it has impacted the ability to tell the truth." She's right. And there's recent precedent for this fear when it comes to Musk specifically. Remember what happened to Media Matters? As Andy Craig points out, they "simply shared screenshots of major corporate ads running next to literally Hitler stuff and he sued them into mass layoffs and got two states to open criminal investigations of them." The chilling effect was immediate. Craig notes that coverage of similar issues "kind of petered out" afterward—"not because it got any harder to find examples to report." This is what journalist Mike Masnick calls a SLAPP (Strategic Lawsuit Against Public Participation) lawsuit. These suits aren't necessarily meant to win in court; they're meant to silence critics through the sheer cost and hassle of defending against them. That's why Masnick and others have been "calling for anti-SLAPP laws (both federal and state) for years and years."

Mainstream media publications and even the ADL are beating the bush by avoiding calling out Elon Musk’s Nazi salutes, all because they are afraid of being sued. White supremacists and Neo-Nazis saw the salute for what it was: a validation of their wicked viewpoints.

Good Omens Christmas jumpers, because of course they are a thing now

Glad to see that I’m not the only one clowning about the Good Omens Christmas jumper designs! You know what it means — putting together everything in one thread to make the further speculations more streamlined and, obviously, fun.

On November 20th, Rob Wilkins was present at the “Designing Terry Pratchett’s Discworld” event at Brendon Books. Probably not much to talk about from most of the Good Omens fans perspective, if not for the journalist Kat Brown posting on Bluesky the next morning:

But wait, something’s wrong. Or maybe not wrong, just… different. Why is Crowley the one shielding Aziraphale with his wing in his demonic, black-clothed, black-winged form? That’s a clear deviation from the pattern established in Eden and Before the Beginning.

There was barely enough time to discuss this phenomenon properly though. In the afternoon of November 21st, Rob made a previously unannounced appearance at the Paul Kidby’s “Designing Terry Pratchett’s Discworld” event at Waterstones Piccadilly, where he presented the Aziraphalean version of the jumper. On it — one Forty Years of Discworld pin and a second one in preparation for 2025 as The Year of the Luminous Lemur. Thanks to the phenomenal @basement-jax (I’m not exaggerating, I’ve seen her perform live on stage with Michael Sheen last month) present on site, we got the next photos in real time:

Let’s compare both designs, starting with the most noticeable difference — their color schemes. Both consist of six different swatches, three of which (white, black, and skin tone) repeat. The remaining three are two shades of the fourth color (brown for Aziraphale and red for Crowley) and a fifth, contrasting color (blue and yellow, respectively).

Six is obviously a very important number in terms of the Good Omens lore. Six episodes per season, 666 as the number of the Beast (Antichrist/Adam), 668 as the original title of the unpublished sequel — the ending of this story that will be finally adapted and revealed very soon. Not accidental.

Which brings us to the question of the left angel’s hair. Changing two brown shades to two golden ones, one already used in the other color scheme, not only shouldn’t be a problem for the designer, but would be a cheaper option and ensure consistency with the right angel’s design.

Some netizens have suggested that this discrepancy is caused by the left design representing the book iterations of the Ineffable Husbands. Book Crowley’s hair is dark — could be black, brown, red, even dark blond — and book Aziraphale’s hair is blond, which logically could be depicted as white or light brown.

Their graphic novel iterations created by Colleen Doran use black for Crowley’s hair (much longer than that of the left jumper demon) and blond for Aziraphale, close enough to the yellow yarn already used in this project and not quite the same shape as the jumper angels’ hairstyles.

Since neither seem to be an exact match for the design, could it be reverse Omens? The answer is not as simple. The characters aren’t just swapped; both of their hairstyles have been redrawn, at least partially. Unlikely a technical issue, when wings and clothes stayed exactly the same.

That would be the facts. Now onto the silliness!

My clowning theory is that we’re dealing with two alternative timelines or retellings here.

For Christmas, Crowley wishes for things to stay exactly the same as they are — but with him as Aziraphale’s protector, the romantic hero his angel needs and deserves.

Aziraphale wishes for a past where he doesn’t exist, or at least never meets Crowley. That’s how the latter would stay an angel and his role of the Serpent of Eden would be taken over by someone else — someone like Beelzebub, perhaps, with their small frame and short black hair?

@bardraelyn kindly suggested yet another option, purely out of amusement: “What if the “Aziraphale’ sweater depicts Lucifer and God?”.

Matt has given her two podcast features now, so if you don't want to read and process that way, you can listen to this while you clean house or play video games or whatever.

The way we collectively (well, y'all, not me) treated Amber Heard and treated that show trial as some social event and "content" has a direct link to how bad shit is about to get. It's a huge piece of the puzzle of both young men and women in a generation that was initially thought to be more progressive becoming very gender essentialist and conservative.

10 Cool Jewish Women from Modern Day! Part 2 because I'm on a role

Liz Kleinrock, a self-described "Korean, Jewish, queer, transracial adoptee, antibias and antiracist nationally recognized educator, author, and consultant." Born in Korea, she was adopted by an Ashkenazi Jewish family in Washington D.C.. Involved in education, with a Masters in UCLA's Teacher Education Program, she has taught in California and D.C., and has also worked as a school librarian. In 2018, she received Learning for Justice's Award for Excellence in Teaching.

Loolwa Khazzoom, an Iraqi-American writer, journalist, activist, musician, and feminist. She was heavily involved in the Jewish feminist movement of the 1990s and is the founder of the Jewish Multicultural Project, which provides resources to Jewish communities about diversity in Jewish culture. She has also been involved in SOJIAC and JIMENA. Raised in California to an American Jewish mother and an Iraqi Jewish father, she graduated from Barnard College in 1991. She participated in a filming about the interplay of race and gender in America called The Way Home. She is the lead singer and bass player of Iraqis in Pajamas, a punk rock band that uses traditional Iraqi and Jewish musical elements.

Ariela Sofer, and Israeli and American operations researcher who is a professor of systems engineering and operations research, as well as a Divisional Dean, at George Mason Acamdey. She is a published author, with two books on Lineaer and Nonlinear Programming. Named as a Fellow of the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences in 2016, she is also a Fellow of the Institute of Industrial and System Engineers and the International Council on Systems Engineering.

Ayelet Newman, also known as Ayelet the Kosher Comic, is an Orthodox stand up comedian. Born to a secular Jewish family on long Island, she pursued a career in TV and film after high school, appearing in The Hebrew Hammer. She became a baalat teshuva in the early 2000s, when she quit acting and began pursuing comedy, performing only for women.

Adina Sash, a Brooklyn raised American Jewish activist and social media influencer, also known as FlatbushGirl. Holding a Master's degree in Medieval literature from Brooklyn College, her online activism was started after receiving sexist comments. In 2017,s he launched a social media campaign called #FrumWomenHaveFaces that raised awareness of the erasing of women from Orthodox newspapers and magazine, gaining the support of Mayim Bialik (Jewish actress).

Tova Ben-Dov, former president of the Women's International Zionist Organization and former vice president of the World Jewish Congress, as well as a board member for the Jewish Agency for Israel and the International Alliance of Women. She joined WIZO as a young mother, and worked in the Chair of Women's Training Department of WIZO Israel. In 2011, she was awarded Honoree of Tel Aviv, and in 2016 the title of Honorary Fellow of the World Zionist Congress.

Kat Graham, an American actress, singer, dancer, author, and activist. Born in Geneva, Switzerland, to an Americo-Liberian father and a Polish and Russian Jewish mother. Co-founder of he wellness company Modern Nirvana, she had released work focusing on self-help. She speaks English, French, Spanish, and some Hebrew and Portuguese. She has been the vice dean for science, chief scientific officer, and executive vice president of NYU Langone Health.

Malika Kalontarova, a Tajikistan born Bukharian dancer known as the "Queen of Tajik and Oriental Dance." Rebellious as a child, she has always identified as Jewish, despite Antisemitism in Tajikstan. Trained by Ghaffor Valamatzoda and Remziye Tarsinova, she moved to Queens in 1993 where she opened up her own dance studio.

Jazz Jennings, an American spokeswoman and Queer activist. An honorary co-founder of he TransKids Purple Rainbow Foundation, which her parents founded in 2007, she is one of the youngest documented people to be recorded as transgender. She was accepted into and currently attends Harvard University. In 2013, at only 13 years old, she founded Purple Rainbow Tails, while engaging in a battle with the USSF to allow her to play on a girls' soccer team. She is a published author, and in 2014 was named one of the top 25 most influential teens. She has voiced several characters in an animated shows, and starred in an Amazon Prime movie.

Outgoing Rep. Jamaal Bowman, D-N.Y., posted a lengthy screed directed at "White people" Tuesday in the wake of Daniel Penny's acquittal in the death of Jordan Neely.

On May 1, 2023, Penny confronted Neely, a 30-year-old homeless man with schizophrenia who had an active arrest warrant at the time and a history of violence, as he was shouting death threats on the subway. With the assistance of other passengers, Penny restrained Neely with a chokehold, but Neely later died.

Outraged that a jury found Penny not guilty of criminally negligent homicide, Bowman took to X in his final days in office to write a thread that began, "Dear White People."

"I don’t know why I feel the need to keep talking to you," the "Squad" member continued. "I don’t know why part of me still has hope for you and for us. Some of you are too far gone. But maybe enough of you aren’t and will join us in fighting to end white supremacy."

He continued, "I just wanna call out the hypocrisy and evil of it all and just continue to hope. I won’t rely completely on you because I know what’s most important is to work with my community and other like minded allies in the fight for justice."

After listing high profile deaths and violence against Black people like Rodney King, Eric Garner and George Floyd, that he had watched on video, the lawmaker added Neely while claiming, "He was not a threat. He was subdued. Still not a threat. Daniel Penny choked him for 6 minutes. And killed him. We all watched it on camera, and he was still acquitted."

"I’ve left out probably another hundred instances of this trauma in my life," Bowman wrote. "For comparison, I ask white people, how many times have you seen a white man killed in cold blood on camera on your newsfeed? How many times have you even heard about this?"

"The answer is never. You never have," he said, although some X users pointed out the irony of the statement with video of the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson dominating the news.

"And whenever you feel discomfort from your whiteness, Black people are harmed or killed. And there is never accountability or justice. This is the evil of white supremacy. It spans across geography and political parties and sickens us all," he continued.

"I wish I didn’t have to live with all of this trauma deep in my bones. I wish I could just be free to be me. I marvel at the beauty and greatness of my people in spite of white supremacy. It’s extraordinary. That is what I will continue to lean on."

"RIP Jordan Neely. The justice system failed you. Kyle Ritenhouse and Daniel Penny are free. You’re gone. We must still fight," he concluded. The Rittenhouse shooting only involved White men.

Social media users expressed shock that a congressman would address any kind of message only to White people.

Independent journalist Brad Polumbo reacted, "I can’t believe that this person, a member of congress, just suggested that he doesn’t know why he needs to continue to talk to an entire racial group. Tf?"

Author Katherine Brodsky wrote, "Any post that starts with ‘dear white people’ is indicative of a malignant narcissist and racist. I'd never dream of addressing people by their skin color as if there are some sort of unified being."

"Can we please stop making everything about race?" Sequoia Capital partner Shaun Maguire asked, to which Elon Musk responded, "Yes, please. This is gone on for too long. Enough."

"The shameful thing is that this kind of stupid, resentful, and manipulative rhetoric ever worked. Now he is getting delivered a ratio, but a few years ago, there would be people in the comments apologizing for their privilege. Never forget—and never repeat—that madness," the Manhattan Institute's Christopher Rufo said.

Novelist Kat Rosenfield wrote she was "grateful to be moving past the moment in which we all had to pretend this wasn't a completely insane thing for an elected official to say in public; there was a lot of social pressure not to say so but in truth, I don't think anyone ever really liked it."

Fox News contributor Guy Benson said Bowman's post was "straight up racist."

"Thanks racist dude who lost his seat because he’s insane," Bonchie from RedState posted.

Jeremy Hunt, of the Hudson Institute and Veterans on Duty, said, "Dear People of NY16, Thank you for voting this delusional, race-baiting, terrorist-sympathizing, fire alarm-pulling, congressman out of office."

Bowman became the first member of "The Squad" to lose their primary over the summer after a series of scandals and controversies, including being censured for pulling a fire alarm in a House office building last year during a vote over government funding and a profanity-laced rant against AIPAC. ____________________

Basically Alexa Nikolas and this dubious journalist named Kat Tenbarge have a feud and dragged Drake into it. I wonder if Alexa was baited into leaking these docs (which really had nothing we didn't already know except the pandemic really fucked with the investigation) since I know people in the fandom questioned her intentions when she expressed one of the clearest examples of cognitive dissonance: "I support Jane Doe, but I'm heartbroken that the digital forensics and witnesses don't align with her claims." The wording isn't exact, but it's close enough first thing in the morning.

They both need to log off and stop dragging Drake into feuds he has no involvement with.
