@bebeautifulla ✨ Note 2 Self: You must learn to carry yourself gently You must learn to love yourself. You must learn to be bold. You must always remember that you are enough. You are beautiful. You are different. You are not a fragment a burnt flower. You must water your flowers. You must learn from your roots. You must learn to blossom beautifully. You must learn to create space. Make room in your heart for yourself. ~ @poeticharmonylove #KarenOwusu #gentlereminder “STACKED: Exploring Nudity in Quarantine” No.16 ‘CHAKRA KHAN’ (#watercolor, 22x30) WIP Reference: @gregoryprescott @callmeloveli #chakrastones by @thecrystalboutique Listening to: @changingwomon Womon Radio: Mood 002 (Click link for playlist in artist’s bio) “Keep Going, YOU MATTER!” #SupportBlackArt #BeBeautifulla #QuarantineLife https://www.instagram.com/p/CEnWErnhIiO/?igshid=gc5qwt60hh9p

You are not too far
from blooming
but remember that,
you are still healing.
This is your time
to water your roots
to take care of your soul
your time will come. For now,
keep on planting seeds
in your garden
move your hands and feet
dance to your own rhythm
Learn to be patient. Honey,
your time will come
at becoming a flower. -Karen Owusu- B+W “Blloom” collection merch + prints available 2/2🖤

"do not awaken her poems if you're afraid of the thunder brewing deep within her soul | do not come near her storm if you're unsure of calming her waves | she is a dangerous storm | pluck the stars in the sky | give it to her | at least, she will know that you care to see her find her light" #karenowusu #boîte #soullover #guerrier #nuage #ebbandflow (at Middle Of The Pacific Ocean)

Learn to apologize when you are wrong. Recognize your faults. Stop waiting for people to extend themselves to you. Find it in your heart to forgive those who hurt you. Stop holding unto pain. You are only hurting yourself.  This your pride will not carry you far at all. It will only allow people to part ways with you. The river doesn't wait for anyone to pour their resources into it's stream. It knows it's source/capabilities. There is no limitation to it's flow. It's aware of what needs to be released. It doesn't wait, it flows. Learn the art of letting go. Darling, it is good for soul. Sometimes the lessons we refuse to learn in the earlier stages of our lives, can cripple us and bring forth destruction.

Woman. sharing her story. unfolding her poems, one by one. the news. her tears. the breaking. hair falling. the healing. every trial turned into a testimony. I listened as she repeatedly said to me, "It's all by God's Grace" and she smiled. that woman is a survivor. Strong in battle, a warrior.

Heart To Soul Talks With You
1. Evaluate the People in your life
2. Are you guys growing together? A seed cannot flourish or make progress if the planter isn’t watering it. Are you watering each other?
3. Not everyone is your friend. Just because you’ve had history together doesn’t make them your friend.
4. What’s up with this old friend and new friend terminology? I wish someone can explain that to me. If your my friend, I don’t place you in categories. Your not my shopping friend, homework friend and all of this categories people like to place their friends unless its convenient.
5. Your friend’s (friend) aren’t your friends unless you guys met together or before in this life.
6. Learning to evaluate my circle. One thing about me is that I do know a lot of people but I don’t call everyone my friend. I‘m a people person. A social butterfly. I was walking in the hallway in my university and I passed a lot of people I knew and one of my classmate was like “Girl you know a lot of people.” I love talking to people. I can’t help it. It’s my personality. I can meet you and sit down for an hour and talk to you. I’ll put everything aside for you. That’s who I am. Lesson: Just because you and someone click when you first meet doesn’t make them your friends.
7. There are genuine friends out there but not many to be honest. In order for one to be a friend, you also have to be one.
8. There are people who are just opportunists. They only talk to you when they are in need. Any other day, you are a nobody to them. I call them leeches. Beware of those people in your life.
9. Some friendships are seasonal. Don’t take it personal when you begin to drift apart from certain people you used to be friends with. Sometimes, it hurts. I know because I’ve walked that road. I reach out to people. When it’s their birthday, I remember them but when it’s mine who remembers? I can’t even count. My mother always tells me God is going to bring the right people into my life. Many times, the tears have fallen. I’ve learned but with every situation, there’s always something to learn. It’s life. Sometimes, you wonder why you are always the one reaching out to them. Making an effort but they only feed you with their excuses of their always busy. If someone is important to you, you make time for them not excuses. If your wife/husband is important to you, you make an effort to spend time with them.
10. Never change who you are because of how people have treated you. In this life we live and we learn. Yes, it hurts to know that the people you call your friends aren’t your friends. You will heal. Embrace the season your in along with the people in it. Never be afraid of walking away from friendships/relationships that are draining you. If you aren’t growing, let go. Take care of yourself.

2017...
1. Drink at least 5-6 cups of water.
2. Go to bed by 11pm or earlier. If your a college student, then that’s an exception.
3. Log off all social media by 8:00pm or earlier. Set a time to not be on it.
4. Get a piggy bank and put money in it every week or every two weeks when you are paid. Set an amount you’ll be committed to put in. No touching.
5. Let go of toxic people in your life. If you like drama, then it will continually visit you because that’s what you attract. Differentiate between those who are associates and friends
6. Get a Journal and write down your praise report and prayer requests.
7. Spend time reading the Bible. Praise and Worship. Take notes while studying a Book in the Bible.
8. Be consistent this year. Write down due dates for yourself. If a paper is due on a certain date, your teacher wont accept it. In the same way, be the student who turns your paper in time.
9. Read a book every month
10. Cut your hair.
11. Spend less. Be mindful of how you spend your money. Don’t be so frugal but just conscious of how you spend.
12. Take a shower. Brush your teeth. Shave. Put some lotion all over your body. These are some of the best feelings ever.
13. Make a list of all the things you want to accomplish this year. Write it down and make it happen.
14. Try new foods. Visit new restaurants.
15. Take a walk more often. Visit a museum or a gallery. Go to a spoken word event. (Poetry).
16. Travel to at least one or two states/country
17. Mentor someone
18. Go to a broadway show
19. Watch new shows/movies
20. Get a hobby.
21. Be careful what you feed your spirit.
22. Look for jobs.
23. Apply to Grad School
24. Clean your room more often.
25. Surround yourself with people who motivate and want to see your grow.
26. Spend time with your family.
27. Be more active in your church/community
28. Eat healthy. Go to the gym more.
29. Take time to reach out to people. No more excuses of I’m not a texting or calling person. Find it in your heart to forgive those that hurt you.
30. Live. Laugh. Create memories.
I Declare that this year will be a good one. Yes, the storms will come but we will rise from it.
With Love,
Karen Owusu

You are beautiful maybe not like the girl standing next to you not like the girl you saw on the train with big hair, heavy chest, thick thighs and a fine waistline. But honey Child, you are beautiful. a breath of fresh air warmth & light. You are a delicate entity robbed in glory. a river overflowing with poems not everyone will comprehend. soft woman you are more than your stretch marks and histories of pain. you are _____
