I don’t like that in Mutant Mayhem Donnie is not a “science guy” but instead is more of an anime and pop culture geek. I’m not against him being an anime fan (I love anime too) but I wish we saw more of his science and being a tech genius side instead of him just liking stereotypical “nerdy stuff”. If that makes sense.

I don’t like the Punk Frogs (any version).

The 87 crossover episodes in the 2012 series (as much as I did enjoy them & are great episodes) should not have happened. They leave no real impact or development to 2012’s overarching story and just waste time. These episodes could’ve covered more important things that 202 was desperately lacking like like character exploration and character dynamic development. It was just nostalgic fanservice. The arc in S5 specifically would’ve work better as a movie instead of a 3-4 episode arc in the (most likely non canon) final season.

Shinigami being Mikey’s second love interests ruins her character a bit (for me personally). That was a pointless decision that did NOT need to happen. She would’ve been our first recurring female character to not be a love interest, but nope!

People are allowed to like/ship Donnie x April in ROTTMNT (this is coming from someone who’s not crazy about April being shipped with the Turtles).

I ship Yuichi with 2012 Leo more than Rise Leo (still ship Rise Leoichi, but I just think 2012 Leoichi is way more interesting, plus 2012 Leo deserves a good love interest).

The humans in Mutant Mayhem look ugly af (I know that was probably an intentional design choice but still. It looks bad.)

I hate Raph x Casey (any ver). I’ve stated in part one that I don’t like Raph (any version) being in a romantic relationship with human characters and yes, that meant him with Casey. Not only that but Raph and Casey being a couple ruins their whole dynamic and iconic friendship I love so much. I’m all for friends to lovers but they are a line that should not be crossed. Not every friendship needs to turn romantic.

2012 Karai’s hair looks bad.

Fans often over exaggerate Rise Donnie’s character and badly mischaracterize him in fanfics and fan comics to the point it makes him feel like he’s an entirely different character.

Shinigami should have been revealed to be a villain.

Rise Donnie was just as mean to his brother as fans claim 2012 Raph was to his. Yes, they both do love their families and I’m NOT saying either of them are abus!ce (they’re not), but fans praising Rise Donnie for doing similar things fans criticize/hate 2012 Raph for doing just makes them hypocrites.

Venus does NOT need to be in every iteration of TMNT. It gets kind of annoying when fans keep on saying that she should be in all the other iterations when in truth her presence would not make sense based on the already established canon story. The only (recent) version of TMNT where I think her being included would’ve fit the best and deserved to make her comeback in is ROTTMNT.

The side plot of 2012 Karai being mutated and later getting brainwashed by Shredder was a waste of time and the most boring arc in the series.

2012 April, Donnie and Casey being in a poly relationship does not fix anything with their problematic dynamic and massive flaws with one another. I'm not saying you can't ship all three of them together, you do you! Idc But in reality their relationship would be a train wreck, that's why I personally don't ship 2012 Capriltello.

Renet is probably one of the most powerful allies the Turtles have in the 2012 series.

Rise Donnie would NOT hate 2012 April. He’d go crazy over her psychic powers and want to study them to help her explore them more.

From what I've seen so far, Leo x Usagi seems like the only GOOD ship in the 2003 series (this hot take might change tho).

Raph had the best character arc and development in the 2012 series and changed the most out of the four brothers. Next would be Leo. With Mikey and Donnie have little development (or none at all sadly).

I'm gonna say something really wild today y'all ready for the insanity of this circus and clown of a blogger who runs it???

Raphael Hamato is so much more than his temper.

Like I've noticed how in a lot of media such a fanfiction, talking about characters and other things that a lot of the time Raph is often times shown in the light of his temper and his temper alone. Like this personality trait is given the spotlight so much that often times that's the first thing to pop into people's heads whenever they hear Raphael Hamato. He's in a way been reduced to just his temper and it's honestly kinda sad because Raph's not just his temper. There's so much more to our red clad turtle than him being angry constantly and there are so many moments within the Tmnt series that displays his better qualities that are often overlooked by his famous hot head.

2003 Tmnt shows a lot of moments of Raph being more than his temper. Moments such as his protectiveness over his brothers whenever there's danger, moments where he gets emotional and upset whenever his loved ones are harmed and so many other times afterwards. One of these moments is when Leo had been ambushed by the Foot Clan and had fallen into his few hour coma. As soon as Raph realized that Leo was hurt he instantly went to protect him and when he found out about what had happened he'd wanted to hunt the Foot Clan down for what they'd done. Yet he refrained from doing so because Leo was defenseless as well as his other family members and he instead stuck by his side until he woke up. And there's the time where Raph helped out a small boy and all the times he's literally fought enemies to protect his brothers and him always keeping a close eye on Karai after she'd betrayed them because she was a threat to his family and so many other moments like these ones that display just who exactly Raphael is.

But that's not all there's also the 2012 series where again there are several moments where Raph is shown to be much more than his temper. Like whenever Mikey was hurt by Bradford and he was feeling down about his supposed friend being an actual jerk Raph is one of the first people to go and offer him comfort and give him advice. Or whenever Mikey was taken by the mutated cockroach Raph despite being terrified of bugs, went after his little brother because he refused to lose him. And there was the times of Raph having Leo's back and being there for him whenever his older brother really needed that support. Like whenever April was kidnapped and Leo had started panicking Raph had stepped up to the plate and had even quoted Leo's favorite TV show to inspire him. Or the times when Donnie needed someone to talk to or rather rant to Raph is usually the one to rant with him. And of course when Leo went into his own three month coma he refused to leave his side barely sleeping and eating till his brother was awake again. And then there was the Slash incident where his mutated pet turtle, essentially his best friend had started to attack his brothers and Raphael despite not wanting to hurt Spike had fought him anyways because his brothers were in danger and he loves them dearly. Not to mention that he's an animal lover and is gentle towards those who are smaller than him such as Spike and Chompy. He's a sweetheart underneath his tough exterior.

And of course the Rise series shows Raph's more better qualities because Raphael within this series is the oldest brother instead of the second oldest. So he has more restraint on his temper because he's got to be the example amongst them. In Rise we see Raph being sweet and kind hearted and fiercely protective of his loved ones. He shows so many amazing qualities about the character Raphael Hamato that we sometimes forget that nearly all the different versions of Raph have these qualities. 2003 Raph can be kind hearted to a default. He can't stand injustice and he's often times seen helping others even if it gets him hurt because he fights for the little guys whether we pay attention to it or not. 2012 Raph is fiercely loyal and fully prepared to die for his family should it be necessary. He puts himself out there, stepping out of his comfort zone to offer a shoulder of support to his family and comforts them within the toughest of times. Rise Raph is protective and he always keeps a close eye on his brothers and is willing to tear the world apart should something happen to them. All of these wonderful qualities shared by the same red clad hot head that we all love and admire.

And there's still so much more to him.

Raphael is short tempered yes. But he's also kind, fiercely protective and loyal to a default. He loves his family dearly and is willing to put himself in the line of fire for them. If he had to choose between the world and them he'd choose his brothers every single time. Raphael can be rude and unintentionally hurt his loved ones but he's always quick to apologize to them or try to make amends. If he hurts someone he cares about he carries guilt because he himself knows how bad his temper can be and because he knows this he's always doing his best to grow and learn from his mistakes so they won't happen again. Raphael Hamato is such a complex character and he's got so many pieces that make him an amazing character whether we acknowledge it or not. And we seem to forget that Raphael is a very emotional person when it comes to things he's passionate about. Such as the safety of his family or the safety of those who are innocents. He only ever really loses his temper whenever he feels like no one's listening to him, or if he's cornered somewhat and forced to lash out. Raphael Hamato's job is to be the protector for his family and he lives up to that title and is passionate about it so much so that whenever he feels like that his family is put in danger or rushing head first into it he immediately becomes upset. And when he realizes that he's lost his temper he's quick to try and fix his mistakes.

Our favorite red clad turtle is so many things and is so much more than his temper and I'll never be over the fact that a lot of times he's often reduced to that and that alone. He's such an amazing character and lowkey I personally admire him because of all these things and so much more. He's a hot head but he's also one of the four turtles to have the biggest heart on him whether he's open with it or not. Because that's who Raph is and who he always will be.

I'll go first

2012 Ramona because out of all of the relationships it was the most healthy and normal one in the 2012 series. It had a good dynamic and I just loved every scene with them. I have seen some say that they tend to be cringe with their moments which from their pov I can understand. Though for me I really enjoy their cute moments. They are so wholesome and also blatantly funny.

I also love 2012 Renetengelo on just how absolutely adorable and wholesome it is. Renet and Mikey were made for each other argue with the wall. Though I feel like they should have written Renet as an immortal and ageless time traveler goddess of some sorts. Because I feel like their relationship would be complicated because Renet is from another time period and so is Mikey which makes it weird. I still love it and I will stand on this hill and appreciate it

Honestly each version of TMNT has something, somebodies gonna hate, you can’t please everyone but I think it’s time people admit that 2012 (Before anyone says I hate 2012 I grew up with 2012 it was my favorite for the longest time but when I rewatched it with the nostalgia off I started seeing problems) was not that great. Like sure, design and animation wise this version has created a lot of my favorite characters and designs, as well as my favorite version of Splinter (Rise’s Splinter is my favorite two but for a different reason). But there’s so many things wrong with 2012 TMNT one of the things is the romance. Everyone wants to give 2012 April shit but 2012 Donnie ain’t perfect either. He continues to try and win April’s heart despite numerous times people have told him to stop. Heck Splinter gave a whole lesson on how you can’t force these things, but he still tries. It wasn’t until the Bigfoot episode (God I hate that episode) That’s he’s willing to stop, but April just enables him. Now April is also a piece of shit for leading him on, and not giving him a flat out, no, but she does the same with Casey. Heck Casey’s only purpose in the show is to be comedic relief and to add on to the love triangle. And don’t get me started on Leo and Karai. Like I love enemies to lovers, but once he found out that Karai was THERE SISTER HE STILL WAS TRYIN HIT. Like bro wtf.Honestly Raph and Mikey are the only one’s who have a healthy romance. AND HECK SINCE THE ENTIRE REASON THAT THE SHREDDER IS THE ENEMY WAS BECAUSE HE DIDN’T GET PICK BY A GIRL. My Version of the Hamato Family

So, this is where I shine in writing. I love creating characters and their backstory; it’s so fun. I think it is more important to focus on characters than the plot since a character can create the storyline- well at least for me.

 Leonardo:

We’re starting with the usual leader-in-blue!

Although I adore Leo, his “perfect” personality can get a little boring. His versions usually have flaws, though they are the kind that makes you sympathize with him rather than feeling indifferent like with Raph’s anger issues.

Season 1 Leo would be a toned-down Rise Leo. He can be cocky when he succeeds over his brothers and would jokingly comment how he is Splinter’s favorite. However, it doesn’t come without hard work. Leo trains the most out of his brothers and spends most of his time studying fighting techniques. He is not naturally talented in ninjitsu like the past incarnations. Also, Leo’s motivations for training very hard and wanting to be leader is more for himself than anything.

Compared to his brothers, Leo was relatively average. Donnie was extremely smart, Mikey had his kind and joyful soul, and Raph was naturally a great fighter. Leo felt left out and decided that training to be a hero would be his way of standing out. He also believed that being special like his brothers was the only way to get Splinter’s attention; and it kind of worked. With all the progress Leo made, Splinter praised him, and they had a way to connect.

Around the beginning of S1(maybe ep. 5), Leo became the leader though how was different. Instead of Splinter deciding, the brothers did; the explanation was the turtles were a team and should make a consensus as one. This news made Leo ecstatic; he was finally living his dreams. Even so, he didn’t realize the baggage and responsibility a leader had to shoulder. Over the course of the story Leo grows as a great leader and fighter.

The Karai/Leo subplot will follow the 2003 version. He is convinced that Karai is a good person and tries to have her switch sides. There will be romantic feelings but its not the main motivation for both of their actions. I can’t say too much since this plot revolves around Karai more.

   Donatello:

Donnie is a blend of 2003/12 versions. He is intelligent with an extremely high IQ and was a gifted child. However, his intelligence came with a cost; making connections with his brothers and father was really tough for him because of their different interests. This left him withdrawing from everyone and focusing on his inventions. His social skills evolve once the turtles visit the city and meet April. The increasing danger of the Kraang further builds his relationships since communication is important in teamwork, and Donnie’s talent in inventing grew more in the spotlight.

Because of her fascination with Donnie’s smarts and inventions, April and Donnie become good friends as the story continues. Donnie also gets close with April’s best friend, Irma since they are science lovers. At first, Casey irritates him as they have clearly different personality; Casey’s impulsive and extroverted attitude conflicting with Donnie’s plan-based mindset.

Donnie’s love for his family is showcased after witnessing a terrifying, apocalyptic future where his family suffers. Paranoia sets in. His work to calculate the cause of this terrible, and its solution leads Donnie to rarely take care of his needs. He has to learn to trust in others instead of doing things alone.

 Raphael:

Unlike Leo, Raph is instantly gifted in fighting. He has more physical strength than his brothers and would constantly beat them in practice. Since childhood, Raph was Splinter’s “favorite” in the dojo and that definitely got into the red-banded turtle’s head. He would brag to his brothers and jokingly poke fun at their techniques. It wouldn’t affect anyone. Except for Leo.

Raphael’s ego started taking hits once Leo caught up to him and beating him in practice once in a while. It turned into anger after noticing Master Splinter praising Leo more. The tension soured their brotherhood. Unlike most versions, Raph’s anger is fueled by insecurity. He believes that fighting is the only thing he is good at and will get territorial if his spotlight is threatened.

Throughout the story, he learns to move on from his demons and realize his worth.

Family is important to Raph. He can be hard on his brothers yet will do anything to keep them safe, especially Mikey- his positivity must be protected. Casey and Raph become best friends for their similarities and love for fighting- they are impulsive bros.

 Michelangelo:

Mikey’s role is to be the positive and glue of the team. He loves to make people happy and would always do something goofy or kind to do that. His family have nothing bad to say about their youngest member and are very protective of him. The youngest brother doesn’t take ninjitsu as seriously as skateboarding, dancing, or just general fun. Though, he will be serious when the situation calls for it, such as the fate of his family and the world.

Although being an open ear to anyone, Mikey is not open to expressing his negative emotions due to his fear of damaging the family dynamic. It is noticeable when he is upset because he jokes more often and not focus. A lesson he must learn is to accept the good and the bad. Mikey can be reckless, mostly when his brothers rarely let him participate in missions. He wants to prove to his family that he is strong enough to protect himself and others. Reading people is his best skill and takes great pride in it, usually taking on the role of a therapist.

 Splinter/Hamato Yoshi:

I really wanted to take Splinter’s role in the Shredder’s descent to evil in the grayer area. He is usually the victim/innocent party of the story, which can get boring after a while.

Hamato Yoshi was born as the heir to Hamato Clan and childhood best friend of Oroku Saki. The Hamato and Foot clan were allies for centuries and would usually fight by each other’s side. Matters changed when the Foot’s beliefs grew more sinister. This left the Hamato Clan to eradicate their former ally. Splinter saved Saki before he could be killed, though, it came with consequences. Oroku Saki vowed to exact revenge for his fallen home. Growing up, Splinter became one of the strongest martial artists in Japan and married a woman named Tang Shen, later becoming a father to a girl. His world ended once he saw his clan destroyed and his family killed by the renewed Foot Clan.

Yoshi decided to move to New York and forget his old life. Years later, the martial artist noticed strange people caging defenseless animals. He would fight them long enough to protect four humanoid turtles, deciding to keep them after a moment of compassion. Splinter would continuously fight the strange men until a strange liquid turned him into a rat. This turning point banished Splinter and the turtles to the sewers for protection.

Splinter equally loves his sons. He would always make sure to give them equal amounts of love to avoid lasting issues. Though, he has made some mistakes. Emotions were rarely discussed because of Splinter’s unintentionally withdrawn attitude. The rat master wouldn’t instantly notice problems between his sons, and usually didn’t know how to resolve them. No matter what, Splinter is proud of his children and would do anything to keep them safe; sometimes not realizing that it could hurt them.

Hamato Yoshi’s guilt and trauma over the terrible moments in his life would be the main focus of his development.

Unpopular ROTTMNT opinions

Warning: There’s MILD TMNT 2012 hate. So if you don’t want to hear ANY hate, don’t read.

Note: I might put this under cut later. 

-I actaully like Rise! Apritello as a friendship AND as a pair/shipping. I think part of the reason why people don’t like it as a pair at all is because they messed it up SO MUCH in the 2012 TMNT that now no one wants romance in the new series. Which I understand competely, but honestly? I’m willing to give this a chance if it’s possible. I feel that romances in kid shows CAN work out and be enjoyable as long as it’s written properly. However, if people still don’t want this (or is not into shipping in Rise) that’s perfectly fine. I just don’t want no one to hate on anyone who does like this or willing to give it a chance.

I also feel like it’s because they don’t ship April x Turtle pairs at all since they see April as a sister to the turtles. Which is fair, but at least April ISN’T related to them. It’s leagues better than some incest ships that I know....coughtcestcough. Also, the “childhood friends to lovers” thing IS a troupe and it DOES exist. 

-I like Rise of TMNT A LOT MORE than TMNT 2012. I also like how it treated it’s sibling relationships a lot more than the previous show did. Raph and Mikey’s relationship is handled better (I just don’t think 2012! Raph gave none of his brothers enough credit as he should of sometimes and he treated them (mainly Mikey) like a freaking punching bag).The brothers in Rise may act silly and petty towards each other SOMETIMES, but it’s been shown COUNTLESS of times throughout the series that they love and care for each other. I just never felt it that much with TMNT 2012. I know sometimes sibling relationships aren’t sunshine and rainbows and even sometimes complicated, but I feel like as though Rise handled this better when it came to that. I just feel like 2012′s sibling relationships where toxic. I’m just more of a fan of healthy sibling relationships than “realistic” ones.

-Raph’s not an jerk-stu, Leo gets to have fun and be free without responsibility for once, Mikey’s not written as an compete idiot this time (cute doesn’t always mean naïve and stupid and I love how the creators are showing that) and Donatello is handled a lot better in writting this time (I LOVE TMNT 2012 Donnie to bits, but he had a lot of low self esteem). As different as the turtles are in this series is, the creators handled their personalities quite nicely instead of aping one trait up to 1000%. Also, Rise!April is less mary-sueish and bitchy than 2012! April. Rise! Splinter is good too ^^

-If I was given a choice to being back TMNT 2012 or keep Rise, I would choose the latter because I believe it’s better written and handled better than 2012. Also, even though there was plot holes and things that weren’t solved, I think TMNT 2012 had it’s run. Though I wouldn’t mind some kind of spin-off that fixes those plot holes. 

-Despite all the things that I love about Rise, I don’t mind if the show goes a agusty/deep/dark/suspenseful route, even if it’s every now and then. I don’t know, it just doesn’t bother me unlike others. In fact, I would love to see that happen. As long as it doesn’t go overboard or includes it just for the sake to be edgy or please “certain fans”, I’m fine with it :)

-I don’t really care for Darxum x Splinter/Lou Jistu that much if not at all. It just really didn’t interest me and I have no idea where it came from.

-I honestly don’t mind Raph permanently being the leader this time around. Heck, I wouldn’t even mind Leo becoming the leader like in the old incarnations. Maybe they can be co-leaders? Either way, I don’t mind any of it. Though I do like to see Leo development. 

-Some of the fandom is just a BIG mess for Rise! angst and suspense to happen despite what’s happening in the show, but honestly? I am too XD Is it bad that I actaully want more of that too? I know the show is for kids, but I wouldn’t really mind it still as long as it’s ok. NOT to the point where it would be like another Steven Universe, but just a little bit more would be good for me.

-Kind of want the gang to face some more challenges and tough choices in the future. Because...you know...THE FEELS!? O__O

-Kind of want the unnamed foot soldier to be Casey instead of Karai tbh. Not only it would be an interesting change but also hella funny XD

-I don’t want Draxum to change AT LEAST until around the end of the series. Because I want the lesson “sometimes, people don’t change” or “sometimes, people don’t change right away”.

-I want an arc focusing on Raph’s “anxiety”.

-I want Casey back. And I kind of want him to be black too XD

-If Casey does come back, I don’t want ANY love triangle bullcrap. IF there HAS to be a love triangle, I don’t want it overdone it nor dragged out as long as it was in TMNT 2012.

Bonus not so unpopular opinions:

-Something REALLY random, but I want Tom to have a boyfriend. Something sweet :)

-I want an episode that focuses on Leo and Donnie’s relationship/bond as “twin” brothers.

-I want more highschool shenanigans with April (and maybe Sunita). I want to see Taylor and the purple dragons in school again. Sorry, not sorry XD

-Also, what’s up with Dale??? Unlike some people (for some reason) who dislike him already, I actaully want to see more of him and learn more about him. What’s really his purpose besides having a crush on April? I would at least like for him to be good friends with her.

-I want more “Terror Trio” episodes (Leo, Donnie and April).

-Want more Donnie and April episodes, regardless friendship or more. 

-I want dark turtles. Regardless if there’s dark counterparts of the turtles or one of the turtles turns dark, I want dark turtles. 

-Don’t know if it’s the kind of show for that, but linked with the first one, I just want a LGBTQ relationship (or character) in general. 

-I WANT MORE PIEBALD!

A Year Without - Part Ten

Here is the final installment of my short story A Year Without. I hope you enjoyed this ansty smutty ride. Thank you for reading my sweets!

Warning: Blood and gore, and lots of angsty bullshit!

 The door insight, you raced for it gripping the door handle anxiously. A deep breath and a hard swallow, you prepared yourself for what was to come, the fight, the possibility of failure, you were one woman barely trained. If you were going down, you weren’t going down without a fight and trying your damnedest to free the four turtle brothers from Karai’s maniacal gluttonous fingers. If you failed it meant your death and her irrefutable control over them.

 Your stomach churned gripping the red hilt of Raphael’s sai, you had to do this, you had to put a stop to these people. At least you had to try, if not just for the guys freedom but for the city of New York. If Karai had the four highly training and extremely strong mutants all under her control there would be no mercy and no hope left for its’ people, the foot would take control without a doubt. No fucking pressure, right?

Your fingers clenched around the cool handle and turned hurtling your weight into the swinging door.

With practiced aim you launched the forked weapon, pointy ends racing towards the doctor which held the secrets to the serum. If he was gone, they couldn’t make more, there would be no more threat of control, that is if you could destroy what he had made already.

 The aim was true, and Dr. Langston looked up just in time to see the weapon hurdling towards his face. His eyes closed awaiting death but a green blur stopped everything leaving the Doctor alive but shaking from the near-death moment.

 Raphael’s hand was free up in the air and his thick green digits were wrapped around the hilt of his weapon stopping the sai millimeters from piercing the good doctor’s fine bone structure. What a pity.

 Your mouth hung open, breath refusing to return to your lungs. Midair, he had stopped the very sharp sai mid-fucking-air. Raphael saved him, saved Dr Langston.

 A sickening laughter erupted from Karai’s mouth taking your attention away from the doctor’s relieved to be alive reaction.

 “I don’t know how you got free you little cunt but you’re too fucking late.” Her wicked smile widened as you noticed the four mutants rise slowly coming quickly to their full heights. “Look at her my pets, turn to see your next mission.” Karai cooed sweetly to her new toys and they obeyed turning to face you.

 Their eyes were the first thing you noticed, dull and grey hues returned to Leonardo’s once blue iris’s, his three younger brothers matching their leader’s. Emotionless and void of feeling, maybe a hint of confusion as they stared at you with empty stares, no doubt awaiting orders.

 Fuck fuckty fuck, this was bad, very bad, so bad, how did you end up here? It was time to wake up, this horrible fucked up dream needed to end…NOW! The blood froze in your veins, you were too late, at their feet lay four empty syringes, the control serum now coursing through their veins, taking over, stealing them all away.  

 “Guys?” you mewled out helplessly to your ex-lover and friends hoping your fruitless plea would reach them.

 Just then your arms were gripped and mercilessly pinned to your sides, the remaining weapons you had confiscated were ripped from your person. Four foot ninja took hold taking away the last of your resolve, it was over. There was no way you could win now. Your only hope was to survive and try to make a break for it. You needed help.

 Karai’s smiled widened further, her long white fingers pointing eagerly to you, “Kill her for me my pets.” Her voice dripped with venom giving the order to end your life.

 It took them a moment to move, their arms and legs lethargic as they shifted forward mechanically, nothing like Leo was when you first saw him a few days ago. The serum must still be working its way through them, not fully absorbed into their cerebellums.

 Donatello lumbered forward first his long arms outstretched gripping his bo staff that was held out for him. Each of the foot ninja’s eyes that held you firm were concentrating on the four giant turtles advancing towards them, uneasy looks plastered on their faces. They were distracted, perfect.

 Leaning back into the hold, you lifted your legs and thrust them forward into Donnie’s plastron. The kick that followed sent all four of the ninjas holding you backwards landing on their back. Their shock allowed you freedom for their grasp and you scrambled to your feet taking off down the hallway towards uncertain freedom. You could hear Karai’s screaming in the distance for the turtles to go after you.

 “Failure will not be tolerated!” she retorted angrily out into the hallway, no doubt at the four mutants now hot on your trail.  

 Thankfully with their bodies still not fully adapted to the serum they were not able to utilize their full bodies motor skills and ninja stealth. Their usually silent foot falls were heavy and loud allowing you to gage just how far back they were. You didn’t dare to turn around but by the deafening smacks of their feet made it apparent they were catching up…quickly.

 You could see the stairs in front of you, sweet beacons of light that would bring up above ground to hopefully the main doors and your freedom. That was if you could escape the four mutants scrambling for your capture a few feet behind you.  You could make it, you could make it, just a little further!

 But your hope ran out as a large three fingered hand grabbed hold of your shoulder yanking your down. Your body tumbled and rolled and came to a crashing halt at the bottom of the stairs. Nearly upside down you watched the four turtle brothers hover over you, eyes bleak and cold. Mikey and Raph moved first hoisting you up and yanking her arms painfully behind your back. You yelped crying out at the searing pain as Raph couldn’t withhold his brute strength ripping your shoulder from its socket. It lay limp and burning with a horrid throbbing pain in his overzealous mitts.

 Leo and Donnie stood before you their weapons strapped to their backs. The blue hilts and flowing ribbon of Leonardo’s katana hung high on his shell, once a symbol of truth and honor were most likely going to be your undoing.

 One dead arm throbbed in Raphael’s grasp, unmoving but you rustled the one in Mikey’s hands, yanking and pulling, getting absolutely nowhere. “Guys its me! Y/N! Come on snap out of it!” you screamed feeling the hot rush of tears as they started to cascade down your dirty cheeks. This wasn’t happening, this couldn’t happen! You couldn’t be killed by the people you loved the most.

Soon Karai and a small army of foot ninja sauntered up behind Leo and Donnie, a wide victory smile plastered across her beautifully pale features. “Leo my love.” Her fingers running delicately over the dense muscles of his biceps. “I want you to do it and I want you to look her in the eyes while your katana slices through her innards like warm butter.” Her fingers reached for his chin pulling his face towards her and pressed a sloppy kiss to his unresponsive lips.

 His attention never faltered from you, grey eyes honed in unwavering, the subtle flash of blue under the grey did not go unnoticed by you.

 A surge of words started to spill from your mouth but Karai lifted her finger and Mikey’s massive hand clamped down silencing you.

 Leonardo’s shaky hand raised above his head grabbing the blue hilt of a katana unsheathing the deadly weapon slowly. The scrap of the scabbard and metal was ear piercing and as it slipped free from its confines the leader in blue swirled the long blade in his hand and positioned the glinting tip at your clothed abdomen. His other hand came to meet the other already covering the hilt to gain extra strength to push and you felt the tip piece through the first layer of skin.

 The pain was immediate, it felt hot and cold at the same time as the blade sunk agonizingly slow into your flesh. Each layer gave way to the metal slipping and gliding into the muscles with ease of your stomach’s core parting it wide open. The searing pain erupted into hot waves of agony when the end of his katana slipped passed the thick barricade of your soft outer shell entering into the space which housed your internal organs.

 You screamed into Mikey’s hand, thrashing, eyes wide, pupils dilated to black. Now you could feel the rush of blood escaping passed the cold katana rolling freely down your stomach coating your borrowed clothes. His eyes were still locked in on yours, equally as wide and the grey pupils were pulsating, and his breathing was growing more and more uneven. The ever forward motion of the blade stopped, and Leo’s mouth opened letting out soundless words as his lips moved on their own. Then you heard a croak beside him, and your eyes shot to Donnie, this hands were clenched at his sides and his mouth also open moving but producing no sound. Even their legs were trembling threatening to collapse under them.

 Karai nodded to Michelangelo and his hand lifted away allowing you to suck in cold air into your burning lungs. Your mouth opened gaped like a fish out of water unable to form words under the overwhelming surge of pain as Leo pushed forward yet again. The breath you had just took caught in your throat and you gasped. Everything went numb inside you, pain, fear, sorrow all seemed to pour from the open wound Leo have made and collided onto the floor splattering at yours and the four pair of green feet.

 As the darkness began to creep into your vision you started to feel Raphael and Mickey shake, it was subtle at first growing rapidly into violent tremors. Their hands were fluttering, opening and closing around your forearms and then like an ear rupturing bellow, Raphael screamed. Leo followed second, then Mikey and Donnie. With the remaining strength you saw their eye colors returned, they were free, somehow.

 Leo’s hands relinquished the blade embedded in your stomach and stepped back. His hands shook violently trying to decide if he should reach for you but Karai made up that choice for him. She was aware they were free of her control.

 She screamed and lunged for Leo and the pain and horror that had filled his handsome features soured into something demonic. His face darkened and his demeanor fluctuated between revulsion and fury and he over took the kunoichi. There was no stopping him now as his second katana was ripped free.

 All at once it happened and you were free falling, too weak to stop it, your legs gave out under you and the ceiling came into view as your body tumbled for the ground. Then just as quickly, it stopped, and Donatello’s horrified face came into view. His hands were on you but keeping a safe distance from the katana protruding from you. He was talking, asking unknown questions, but it didn’t matter you couldn’t hear him over the rush of blood flowing through your ears. You were dying but at least they were free. At least they have a chance now…….. together they could over power Karai and her ninja. They have Leo back, their leader.

 Cold and darkness rushed up to meet you as Donatello’s feature began to blur. The thundering of blood slowed allowing you to hear the battle rage on around you but it sounded so quite. Like it was far away.

 “Y/N, stay awake. I’ve got you. Everything will be ok…. Y/N? Y/N?!” Donnie was screaming now, why was he screaming? The docile brother never screamed. Quite down Donnie, you were tired. You just wanted to sleep, no needed to sleep and you were cold, you hated being cold. Slowly the fog faded to dark and you slipped free into the endless void of nothingness. It was lonely.

 Floating was nice, it was warm and soft, no pain, no screaming just a steady beep and Michelangelo’s sweet voice. He was reading. Who was he reading too?

 Suddenly a soft rolling ebb of pain rolled through your stomach and you moaned from her heat of it. “Mutherfucker.”

 “Y/N?” Mikey’s voice had risen in tone and stopped reading. You heard the book hit the ground with a heavy smack and his hands were on your face. “DONNIE! LEO! RAPH! SENSEI!” He was being so fucking loud. Fucking rude!

 Then a thundering could be heard and three voices.

 “Is she waking up?” Raphael’s booming voice echoed in the vast space of what could only be Donnie’s lab. DONNIE LAB! You were alive and back in the lair! Your eyes shot open and you tried to sit up and yowled at the hot stabbing pain at the sudden movement.

 “Careful Y/N, I don’t want you ripping out your stitches.” Donnie was above you again, then Raph, Mikey and the furry face of Master Splinter. Eyes wide with worry they all started talking all at once.

 A face was missing, a very familiar face that you wanted to see the most. Groaning you turned your head and saw Leonardo a few feet from where you lay, his posture timid and unsure. He was scared to be near you? When the throbbing pain ebbed again you remembered his katana sticking out of your gut.

 “K-karai?” you winced out between the stabs of pain.

 Donnie hurried to your IV drip and added something in a syringe into the bag, “This will help with the pain. And let’s just say the foot won’t be bothering up for quite a while.”

 Raphael grabbed your hand making you focus in on him, “Leo went fucking berserk, well actually all of us did besides Don. He had more important things to handle like keeping you from dyin’ on us. After everything calmed down there was a lot of blood and too many bodies to count but if I remember right Karai is down an arm. Leo made a clean swipe and it fell to the floor in a satisfying slap. It was fucking beautiful. Stupid fucking bitch will be out of commission for a while if she didn’t die from blood loss escaping out the back.”

 Your eyes moved back to Leo who was now watching you intently and your hand reached out urging him forward to take it. He looked back to the floor and took a few heavy breaths and willed his feet to move. When his warm hand slid into yours you felt your heart swell and warm.

 It was going to be a hard road to recovery, not only physically but probably more mentally. You could tell by Leo’s standoffish behavior it was going to take some time to get him to relax around you. There was much to make up for, none which was his fault but to the honor bound ninja he would be bound and determined to make amends. The tight grip of his hand was the first on many steps that would need to be taken.
