Fictional characters that definitely deserved better

��Jen Walters (She-Hulk: Attorney at law)💪

She-Hulk is one of those shows I enjoyed because of the vibes, no surprise that a bunch of dudebros were doing their usual hate on the MCU crap again, especially going after this show.

I like how the show made Jennifer relatable and likable from the start, Tatiana did such a amazingly performance as the titular character along with matching her sassiness and wit like she have in the comics.

The possibilities of She-Hulk season 2 are slim to none, but I still have hope of Jen coming back in the future.

🛩️Andy Demayo (Steven Universe)🛩️

Even though he was kinda rude in his debut episode, but honestly, you would be confused and angry too if you see a bunch of strangers in your barn.

Besides Greg and the residents at Beach City, he rarely calls out Steven's dangerously daily lifestyle with the gems and shows that he cares about his recently known nephew.

After Gem harvest, he resolved the bittered distance and continue visiting his family, even showing at Garnet's wedding.

It was kind of a waste that Future didn't give him anything important to add, he would connect and helped Steven's dilemma with the fear of change, similar to his.

Also a hilarious fun fact, Andy's VA is Carl from Aqua Teen Hunger Force.

🐁Splinter (TMNT 2012)🐁

Honestly one of the most tragic characters in the show, from a broken man who lost everything, to a loving and protecting father who found a new lease on life, along with a family that care for each other to the very end.

He can be strict but he does care about his family and would die fighting for them, he literally died to save them and would do it again if he have to.

Hoon Lee's electrifying portrayal speaks for itself and the critical juncture of his past that parallels him and Shredder is another reason why the show is underrated.

I hate the backlash that this character has been getting and that people are labeling him as a bad father but he's not, the show literally has moments of him caring and protecting his family from danger.

🕸️Miles Morales (Spider-Man)🕸️

Without a doubt, Miles is one of the best Spider-Man characters of all. Pretty disgusting that people are using with the whole Miles Morales is Miles Morales crap to hate on a character that brings a new meaning for a iconic role model for kids.

Into and Across the Spider-verse done a outstanding job, making Miles's personal journey and growth so emotional and inspiring.

Sucks that the third film is going to take a long time to premiere, but at least the PS4 games also give him justice and continues shining Miles.

Miles Morales will forever be one of the best Spider-man, it just sucks that some people won't accept him continuously, but in some way at least there's some people who actually respect him as a character, knowing that he is in forever will be Spider-Man and that makes it him amazing.

📋Lois Lane (My Adventures with Superman)📋

My Adventures with Superman is a show that should be talked about especially on how well written it is, the show adapted Lois very well, along with her budding romance with Clark.

I literally hated how Lois gets treated like garbage by a certain amount of people after the whole secret identity thing, the show does prove that Lois is flawed and complex in a good way, making her likable and relatable, she makes mistakes but that doesn't mean it's a bad thing, everyone does.

The latest episode of season 2 really proves that Lois is a good character, showing her empathetic past and complicated relationship with her dad.

Also, Alice Lee's fun performance as the character is just top notch, whether she's happy or sad, she just nails Lois's character without a doubt.

🧬Morty Smith (Rick and Morty)🧬

This boy has been through enough, with neglectful parents, a sister that does care about him but is focused on her own life, Rick cares sometimes, but can be a real jerk. Morty is more you can be his own person the truth is some things can be holding him back, mostly his grandfather.

I'm glad that Rick is trying to change for the better, I remember I hated the way he treated Morty thoughout the seasons whether using verbal or physical abuse, it also sucks when he tried to do something good yet the universe basically just throws it back at him like a giant middle finger.

I'm glad that the later seasons proves that Morty could be a badass and he can handle himself, but I hope when the new season drops, they find a way to handle his trauma because he deserves a hug.

🎳Wade Whipple (The Sonic franchise)🎳

The Sonic films are underrated but it's problem is that it gets dunked on, especially thanks to a so-called outside of the box thinker.

But unlike the other live action films with bland and boring human characters, the human characters in Sonic are actually likable and memorable, among them is Wade Whipple.

I really don't think he's one of the worst characters in Sonic, honestly his sister and dad deserves to be on that list.

Honestly people hate him just because he have more screen time than Knuckles but one, because it's a TV show budget and Knuckles is in the show, they are acting like he never was in the show.

Two, at least it added layers and flaws that made him even more relatable and serves a purpose to Knuckles's journey.

Like with Tom and Maddie with Sonic, his friendship with Knuckles is another core example of why Knuckles work and his actor, Adam Pally's performance was great too.

🔪Sam Carpenter (Scream 5 and 6)🔪

Sam is another character that deserves more attention and respect than before, partially thanks to her actress.

Aside her rough past and learning the dark truth about her family, Sam cares about the people she loves and isn't afraid to fight for them, even fighting her own personal demons just to do so.

Melissa Barrera is a underrated actress, though Her performance in part 5 was good, I think she was just basically outperformed by everyone else, and it didn't help that she was getting bullied and criticize by bunch of toxic fans.

Scream 6 gave Sam justice and proves that she's a badass final girl, especially thanks to the crew and cast of the films who care and was there for her but thanks to a certain company that fire her for doing the right thing, what's the point of even watching Scream 7 without her and the core four but the good thing is at least it gave her and Sam a bittersweet ending.

🐝Chloe Bourgeois (Miraculous Ladybug)🐝

This one is a completely personal rant, I used to be a fan Miraculous. But after watching the season 3 finale, I feel like the magic of the show just basically disappeared, and seasons 4 and 5 was a huge sign that the show fully gone off the rails.

I remember hating Chloe in the first season and I'm pretty sure everyone else felt the same feeling too, but season 2 actually did the the most surprising thing, actually gave her some character development.

It might be baby steps but still development, she might have been spoiled and selfish sometimes but they actually do show that she has flaws.

Malediktator was one of the best episodes of season 2, they were able to showcase Chloe's vulnerability and it prove that she can change and still be a useful ally like the other miraculous holders.

She protected her friend from getting akumatized again, she almost got Mayura's miraculous, and heck, She literally defied Hawkmoth's control, unlike the other akumatized victims, that is basically spells hero-worthy.

But of course as always, Thomas is just too spiteful and that thinks that Chloe is not just worthy and replaced her with a bland, forgettable and useless character who only exists just because she is "better" than Chloe.

It's honestly just pathetic that her corrupt father who spoils her and the literal villain of the show, who done some horrible and awful things get a redemption arc, but a literal misunderstood child doesn't, it just proves that the writer's room just don't even know how to handle character development nor redemption arcs.

It's even more sad that the film actually treats Chloe better than the show does.

The truth is whether do you like or don't like Chloe, it's possible that she can change, it's just that Thomas is the actual problem of the show, I hope one day somehow Chloe might actually get a actual chance to shine as a character again but maybe in the future it could still could happen.

An observation i think the Mikey angst writters might like

If you didn't notice, or already did, pretty sure i can't be first to say this lol

We all know how Micharlangelo and Splinter's father-son relationship seems diferent from his relationship with the other turtles. One thing i noticed more than any other is that Mikey calls Splinter "Master Splinter" yeah, all his brothers call him that, but they also call him father or dad from time to time, and as far as i remeber? Mikey doesn't (and I've watched the show like three times, so either it didn't happen or was so minuscule to atrack absolutely 0 attention to it, and i'm really into the little detail because i love this little guy)

Usually we see the turtles looking out reassurance and advice from Yoshi, like any teenager would from their dad, except Mikey, but it's not like he never needs it! He just goes to his brothers for that. Everyone seems to think it is Yoshi's fault, maybe due to a lack of interest in his younger son, since all other three have had at least one meaningful conversation with him on screen.

But i don't think it's that. Yes, the rat does have an obvious favoritism for his oldest son, and Mikey obviously knows that, may have heard a million times frim Rapahel, but favoring Leonardo so far that he straight up denies Mikey of his life lessons that he considers essential for their survival? Nah.

(I mean, he may also have dismiss that fact since he thinks all the other turtles will take care of Mikey when he's gone. But as Splinter himself said, Michaelangelo is the one with the most raw talent of them all, he knows Mikey does not need him as much as the others, not for advice, and not for protection)

If they don't have that kind of bond, and i'm not saying that they have a bad relationship, like, at all, Michaelangelo loves his father, that's pretty obvious. Still i think the youngest turtle is the reason for that!

I can even go as far as to say that it is Michaelangelo himself who withdraws from his father, all since ONE very important intance that took place in S2E12 "of rats and men"

Precisely in that scene were Mikey is trying to hide his misdoing (you know, accidentaly mutating a cat into ice cream and then hide it in the frezeer) from a mentally exhausted Splinter, which resulted in him snapping, and falling under the control of Rat king attacking him.

Let me show you

Can you look at this and tell me with a stright face that it did not change the way he saw his father from that point forward? That was genuin fear in his eyes (have in mind, he did not gulp here, he literally whimpered in pavor)

The reason for Splinter snapping under the pressure of the Rat king is Mikey, all because Mikey denied something and Splinter got mad at him. And he knows that.

(I don't think Splinter is a terrible or abusive father btw, he was having the worst day and Mikey can be a little shit. Michaelangelo obviously adores his father, but i think this could be a fair reason for him to start emotionally distancing himself from Splinter without realizing it)

Okay, so the Turtles visual history cover, I love what they did with the styles they gave each turtle, left to right. Turtles count it off!

1. We start with Raphael in original comic style. Not just original comic, where they were streamlined(?) into basically the 03 look, but first issue style, with the pointy beak for an upper lip. This fits because the original comic turtles all had red bandanas. And while the following issues did still have violence, I think first issue is still the most, if not one of the most violent, and Raph is traditionally the most violent of the group.

2. Mikey, 80s cartoon style. I mean come on, he was most people’s favorite when it came to this show, he was practically the mascot, he was the one used for that anti drug thing with all the cartoon characters. And Mikey’s personality across iterations would usually be the one most fitting of the 80s style. And he’s got a slice, he also tends to be the one who loves pizza most, and the pizza loving was introduce through the show.

3. Leo…Not gonna lie, I’m kinda drawing a blank with this one. He could be movie Leo, because the 90 movie was huge, and now that I think about it, he is the first live action turtle we fully, clearly see on screen in that movie. That’s significant for turtles fans. I was thinking it could’ve been 03, but that show didn’t get much in the book (which it seems they’re gonna remedy in the revised and expanded version coming out soon).

4. Donnatello in 12 style. Firstly, legacy VA returned to voice him. Secondly, (which I honestly didn’t consider till now), 12 Donnie might have the most going for him out of all 4 (you of all ppl could correct me on that if I’m wrong). 03 Donnie was still smart and a tech wizz, but Donnie had a return to 80s form with making crazy machines out of garbage and alien tech, or just straight up garbage, and they work! Plus he’s got the crush on April, rivalry with Casey, personal struggles I’m not sure I’ve seen before, some other things, and he’s funny! I don’t think I liked Donnie in general as much as I liked 12 Donnie, and I think that was a common sentiment. He was definitely the least often favored Turtle till recent times, especially with Rise, which came out a while after this book. 12 Donnie was the start of him getting a lot of love.

I was almost certain that's IDW Leo due to his design (though he more so reminds me of how the turtles are drawn on the Ultimate Collection covers), plus there's a potential pattern of, "comic turtle, cartoon turtle, comic, cartoon."

I really do love the choices they went with for each turtle though, because it's arguable that the versions are representative of pivotal moments in their characterization. While Raph overall remained the same cynical, rough knuckled but soft-hearted turtle throughout the years (to great effect mind you depending on the execution), Mikey inevitably became known as the pizza loving party dude we recognize because of how the 80s cartoon depicted him, and that's something that's stuck with him for four decades now.

Again, not entirely sure of what Leo that one is, but if it is IDW Leo, that would make sense. The story he goes through in that era of the comics is undoubtedly unmatched by anything we received in the movies and cartoons. It was possibly the truest embodiment of him growing to be a leader and the largest amalgamation of hardships he goes through to reach that point.

'12 Donnie is such a silly little guy from a silly little show that ran at the same time as the IDW comics💀, but I'm willing to bet most (read: most, not all) people look at him as a pivotal version of the character. Obsessed with machinery and chemistry, awkward from spending years underground with the same folks for so long, but undeniably willing to go above and beyond for his family and friends. He's not unanimously the definitive best version of Donnie, but he was a bit of a trendsetter for some of the traits that reappear in the future iterarions, and Rob Paulsen's voice 100% added to this version of him.

Ok! So, this is specifically the Wormquake Part 2 cameo and the episode 'Trans-Dimensional Turtles'. I can make no claims as to the other crossovers.

Evidence to narrow it down:

Rob Paulson voices Raph- seasons 1-9

Red Sky/ Gets dark- seasons 8-10

Krang is in play- seasons 2-8

Mikey fights with nunchaku- seasons 1-3

This evidence limits the potential range to after season 1 but before season 4.

As the Usagi Yojimbo crossover takes place in season 3 and the Technodome is sent to Dimension X in the finale of that very season, I would like to hypothesize that the episode 'Trans-Dimensional Turtles' and the cameo in 'Wormquake Part 2' occur between seasons 3 and 4 of the 1987 TMNT.

**Upon further inspection, it should be noted that Dimension X is a place where time operates differently and the Casey cameo in Wormquake Part 1 could be spying in on the future after he and April have actually met/ sometime between season 5 and 7???**

Was just thinking about how legitimately devastated 2012 April gets in the face of loss and stuff. She adds a level of depth to the story sometimes with her emotional responses, where the other characters kind of just go on with their day until the situation resolves itself. Then I remembered she’s the only female main(ish) character and it’s probably a result of sexism rather than weirdly isolated good writing.

My Tmnt Oc: June (aka, i wanna ramble)

So, i just realized, this is tumblr and nothing is stopping me from yelling into the void about my and how much i love her and how much i love the turtles.

Now in order to not make this post a super long wall post like the "do you like the color of the sky" post, will put the line thing to make this part small and bite sized. you can skip if you want and not read that is fine, this is mainly so i can ramble about her and all the lore i thought of her. i will be ordering this post in order of when the different series came out and i will be sticking with the main four

which are as follows: 1987, 2003, 2012, and rise

these are my main focus since i've seen each and i feel comfortable molding June to each. i haven't seen the new movie yet but i don't think she'd work, same goes for other versions like the 2014 movies and that one batman movie (i wanna watch it so fucking bad)

with that covered, the read more line

so before i start i would like to give some background on who/june is, for starters she is a robot and not an actual human. in the lore for '87, '03, and '12 she is created and referred to as the Juniper or Jupiter project (for '87) thus the name June, for Rise it's different as she is actually made as a child for a big Dragon milf and her lil nerd husband; still made in a lab but she's more organic made as she is they're baby.

another thing i would like to state is that June originally a self insert for my persona Jam (this also why the J names) but i liked her enough to make her, her own oc. as well originally she was going to be giving Mikey kisses across the bored but then i thought "well i love all of them, and there are four of em, and i'm making four versions of the oc. so no one is really gonna stope me" and this each june is with a different brother so they all can get some kisses

a constant for all June is that they are all some type of robot/cybernetic

now let's start diving into each June!

June (1987): The Big Sister

Full name: June Lynn

So June for 1987 i thought it would be cute if she was like another older sister for the turtle (Since April also takes an older sister role) so she is shipped with Leo as he is the oldest brother. seeing as i am rather young i haven't watched that much of the 1987 series but i have developed her a little bit

she would be very protective of not only leo but the others as well, when it comes to inspiration for how i would want her robot form to look, i thought a more Transformers like look would fit since they came out around the same time (i'm also just a huge fan of Transformers)

when it comes to how she met the turtles, i imagine she helped them from a few mousers.

the few images i have of her (1 drawing i did in style, a picrew i edited, the original picrew, and the link) (also two older drawings of when i first her, plus a bonus mikey of when she was with him)(oh, and some extra stuff with height charts. note i did these late at night so please don't mind the mistakes in spelling or forgetting to label things right) Also i kept messing up on the drawing so please have mercy qwq

June (2003): The Material Girl

Full name: June Splinterdottir

Ah 2003, the year i popped out. obviously i hold this series is very close seeing as we grew up together. so when it comes to lore and development for June this version has the most meat on it's bone.

For 03 June, the turtles actually found her abandoned in an old decaying lab left there to rot and slowly die. that was until they saved her, she grew up with them seeing as she didn't have a home or family of her own. and slowly through the years she got closer to Donatello, seeing as he was the smartest of the family and she is a super charged weapon. until they ended up confessing and soon dating.

April and Casey help teach her about more humans things with Casey taking on an older brother like figure in her life and April acting as more of a teacher.

for her more robot form i though something more interesting would fit her, so her more robot form is/will be based on the xenomorphs from Alien (because i thought it would fit 2003's more gritter look)

for her drawings i actually have a good few, but she has changed through my development of her, there are a few drawings i wanna redraw and change to fit her current lore

the first few drawings are her in the lab, 1 with edits and 1 unedited, Mikey finding her (again pre-kissing donnie era), and her taking a nap while they drive her to the base, a drawing of her in the 2003 style (did my best), plus a picrew edited and unedited /w link, and some height charts.

June (2012): The Baby

Full Name: June Lyn

2012, the baby, the lil guys, and the one i've thought of most second to 2003. she is the youngest i think of all of the variations. now her lore is similar to 2003 except instead of being left to rot, she caused a black out in the lab she was held in and managed to escape making a fake identity for herself so now he's lived a bit in fear they'll find her and force her back.

This june in lore was made less as a weapon and more as a tool, she is power source that is greater then the sun. so she was used to power things in the lab, but she isn't defenseless as she can assimilate organic and non organic matter into her body (i.e: if she grabs a gun she can use it to make her arm a bigger gun)

when it comes to her robot form, i've decided (with the help of my friend) that i wanna use My life as a teenage robot for inspo, She also kisses mikey as i feel like he really needs someone who's on the same page as him. like they are so mean to him he is just a lil guy, he needs a hug hella bad

when it comes to art, i actually don't have too much i'm pleased with. since 2012 is 3D and i don't really wanna try my hand at 3d modelling, so trying to draw in style is not really an option so if i drew her i'll just do it in my own style. what i do have is a picrew of what i'd imagine she'd look like older and the height charts

June (Rise): The Working Girl

Full Name: June Harper-Lyn

Rise, the series i did hella dirty and feel so bad for missing but i'm making up my crime.

now this June is a bit more unique as she actually has parents, her Father is a micro scientist and micro biologist, and her mom is a big yokai dragon (She's a kaiju, because godzilla is cool) So this June is half robot, half human and half yokai, she works with her parents in the diner they own called the "Dragon bite diner" with her mom being the main cook and her dad running as mechanic of the building. the diner itself is suppose to be an place for humans, yokais and mutant to feel safe and have a nice home cooked style meal, they cater to a variety of tastes and it's a conflicted free zone (It's helps when the owner is a huge dragon)

her robot form is more simple, as it's just a more dragon style robot, and of course she is with Raph. big man needs his kisses too, plus he just needs a break from being the eldest sibling and get cuddled up with.

sadly, i don't know what picrew i used to make her. and trust me i looked through 100 pages on picrew, so if anyone could find it that would be nice as i'm a little worried it may have been deleted. i also have a drawing of her in style plus some more simple cute doodles of her and Raph being sweet. she is the most non human looking of the bunch.

another thing just for my oc in general is that i wanted her to be like besties with another brother, since i didn't want her to be Soley around her bf. i want her to be like a legit character and not just 'girlfriend' if that makes sense.

so for 1987 who is with Leo i thought it would be cute if she was besties with Mikey, ya know oldest sibling getting along with youngest (rare i know, but still)

for 2003 she's friends with Leo, since i imagine she has a lot of stress with 1, being left abandoned, 2, knowing she was only made as a weapon and 3. her boyfriend is too busy being a nerd to cuddle. plus he's the eldest so she looks up to him

for 2012, i imagine she's friends with Raph. main reason so he would stop picking on Mikey so much, two because he would love being a bad influence on her and they'd be menaces together

and finally Rise, for her i've decided Donnie. one because he's the last and two because this June's dad is a super smart scientist and because this June is more open to the fact she's not human. so them talking tech and analytics sounds nice

but yeah, that's my oc. i love her and i love the tmnt so much, if anyone wants to know more about her feel free to ask because my brain is absolutely buzzing about tmnt and i don't wanna bother my friends about it

After Tokka vs Earth: Mikey got captured

So, quick check. Because for the writers it’s been years but for us a handful of months. It’s still gnawing at the back of my mind. Yes, STILL. Anyone in the fandom still frustrated that Nick TMNT got away with doing the ONE THING the turtles and Splinter were terrified of happening out of ALL the things happening, and then ended it right there, with a freaking high five and absolutely no repercussions with Mikey and Casey nor any follow up in any episode at all? Not just me. Okay.

Because the reason they’ve been living underground, hiding in the shadows, is because if humans find them, they will be handed over to government scientists who will want to study them and vivisect them and possibly kill them. That was the fear. That was the terror. Don’t get caught. ONE OF THEM GOT CAUGHT. Michelangelo, little Mikey, the baby brother, got dragged off by people in hazmat suits, strapped and pinned to a metal table, and was THIS CLOSE to being sawed open, probed, and experimented on. MIKEY WAS GOING TO BE VIVISECTED. The only reason he was not was Casey Jones breaking out of his own hold and kicking more ass than anyone has a right to kick ass – BEFORE UtromBishop sauntered in to save them both. Mikey was taken, captured, and laid out on a scary metal table with scary humans in suits and scary power tools coming right at him, his eyes rolling up in terror, his screaming mouth plugged with a scary mask, his struggling limbs helpless, his ninja skills useless. Because Raph wanted to have a chat with his space pet’s angry mom and needed Don and Leo to fly the ship. Raph gets to keep his space pet because momma realizes that he’s bonded and imprinted, and the space pet is darn cute, let’s make sure about that so everyone can go Awwww and smile through the sheer horror taking place. Mikey would be dead. They would have lost one of their own. To the very terror they were warned against their entire lives. But Raph got his space turtle puppy back and the world is saved, so Booyakasha!

Wait. Back up. Did Mikey or Casey or Bishop ever explain what happened? If so, what kind of reaction did everyone have? Did Splinter cry? Did Raph feel upset? Did Mikey have nightmares? NICK WRITERS, WHY DO YOU DO THESE THINGS. THIS IS IMPORTANT. See, they never made time. They tossed it in and had no idea what a treasure trove they had. The kind of brotherly love and development that would have made the show actually epic on actual multiple levels. I think it was the end of this episode that made me realize how little the characters mean as far as development went. That and time flew by between episodes randomly like the TARDIS on speed. No resolution. Nobody freaking out. Just…yay, the end, next episode, let’s totally never talk about this horrifying event that the victim came away from completely smiling because he can’t ever be scared or sad because he’s the permanently happy one; no negative vibes please, we’re a fucking motivational poster damn it.

Where is the fanfiction on this? Where’s the fan art on this? I read…mmm…one? two? fanfics, by the same author mind you, who is just as frustrated as I, where one fic touched on the aftermath, and it took Mikey and and Casey begging Donnie for a sleepover and Donnie only just then noticing the bruises and the wide eyes and the twitching hands and the way Mikey didn’t want to be alone. No, wait, there was another one. Donnie punched Raph a lot.

Oh this show. It holds my heart in many ways, some of them hated. But with burning love and passion. It was a gem, that one scene with Mikey and creepy humans trying to hurt him in a government lab. I am absolutely certain that Bishop covered everything up nice and neat, and it was really okay because Mikey is always a positive force, and they went and had gyoza and Raph fed Chompy and awwww. And Mikey never talked to Casey about it because he didn’t need to and they’re warriors.

Months later, I am sitting with my writerbrain head in my hands, marveling at what they could have done in between “Tokka vs the Earth” and “Tale of Tiger Claw.” And yes, I’ll probably write a cutting emotional fic of my own soon and it’ll probably be from Raph’s perspective because I wanted to punch him often, and it’ll switch to Donnie’s perspective because he was the only one upset by Raph punching Mikey and because he for some damn reason is their medical officer when Raph and Mikey could knit unicycle circles around him, Raph because Splinter made him and Mikey because sewing means he gets to make pretty things.

Look, I barely remember the Tiger Claw episode.

So much writing was wasted. Ciro, I am disappointed.

And now with the magical Season Five that will conclude everything, I doubt they will ever address whether or not Splinter went to his grave knowing one of his precious sons actually experienced his worse fear for them.

What if Raph stayed mind controlled for longer? (TMNT 2012 rewrite)

As much as I love TMNT 2012, one of the things I thought was disappointing was having Raph only be mind controlled by Shredder for one episode. I think there was a lot of potential to have one of the turtles temporarily be on the villians side (kinda like how in the IDW comics Leo was brainwashed into becoming part of the foot clan) so I thought 'what if Raph stayed brainwashed for longer?' And now I want to share my idea

Clash Of The Mutanimals

Clash of The Mutanimals would largely remain the same, Slash and Rockwell are used as test subjects by Stockman and are brainwashed by Shredder, they end up in the turtles lair where they seem fine, but the mind control worms activate, a fight starts and they end up capturing Raph and bring him to Shedder where he ends up being brainwashed as well

However the changes start at the climax of the episode, instead of Leo making Raph mad which causes him to spit out the mind control worm, it's instead Donnie who manages to break Rockwell free first by insulting him till he's angry enough to spit it out. A now freed Rockwell then uses his psychic powers to blast the worm out of Slash. However when he tries to do it to Raph, it doesn't work, even the Turtles can't make Raph angry like they did with Rockwell. This is when Shedder taunts the turtles during his brawl with them and Mutanimals by revealing that during the time he had send out Slash and Rockwell out as bait, Stockman was able to create a stronger brain worm specifically for one of the turtles at the request of Shredder, which is why he ordered Slash and Rockwell to bring one of the turtles to him. Not only did he want Karai on his side again, but have one of the turtles as well just to rub salt in the wound for Splinter and the turtles. Eventually Slash and Leatherhead are able to push the statue on Shredder before a bunch of foot soldiers swarm the room with a still mind controlled Raph leading them. While the other turtles want to stay and save Raph, the Mutanimals (mainly Rockwell) tells them they have to retreat if they all don't want to be killed, and they reluctantly do so

Back at the lair we get the scene of Slash apologising to Splinter For hurting him, but also apologising for what happened to Raph, believing that it was his fault that he got captured. Splinter (though its clear that he's heartbroken over what happened) reassures Slash that what happened wasn't his or Rockwell's fault. At the very end Leo promises Splinter that he Mikey and Donnie will do everything they can to get Raph back

For the next episodes we see the heroes struggling with not only trying to find a alternative cure for the brain worms, but with the fact that one of their brothers/son/friends is gone and working for Shredder

Meet Mondo Gecko

Meet Mondo Gecko would for the most part be similar to the original, however we see how the characters are dealing with Raph's absence, with Mikey trying to distract himself in his shows, Donnie trying to find a cure for the mind control worms, and Leo endlessly training in order to basically kick Shredder's ass for what he did to Raph. Also during the race at the end, Fishface tries to taunt Mikey with bringing up what happened to Raph, how he and his brothers failed to save him and for a brief moment it works, but with the help of Mondo and Casey there able to finish the race

At the end of the episode we cut to Shredder's lair where we see him train with someone just as a defeated Fishface walks in. Fishface reveals to Shredder that the turtles haven't been the same since the loss of Raph (noting how angry Mikey got when he taught him about Raph) this pleases Shredder who says "how about we give them a much needed family reunion" before the camera pans to show not only a now brainwashed Karai, but a still brainwashed Raph in a new design that he will keep till The Fortold Trap

Think of the design as a mix of his Vision quest and Owari design but more Foot Clan themed. Also due to him loosing his Sai's during Clash of The Mutanimals (which Splinter now keeps close to him) He now uses the Shredder claws he used in that same episode as his main weapon

The Deadly Venom

Now this episode notably has a few changes, firstly the beginning of the episode is a flashback that took place before Meet Mondo Gecko, explaining what had happened with Karai and how she got brainwashed. In present day Shedder once again orders Karai to take down the turtles, Splinter, April and Casey, but this time she's joined by Raph who Shedder thinks they can use to find them easier (que the two acting like siblings). During the talk with Splinter and Leo at the start, Leo starts to open up about how he wishes that he wasn't so hard on Raph before he got brainwashed, thinking that if he didn't antagonise him as much as he did, then he would still be here. Splinter tries to comfort Leo by reassuring him that what happened to Raph wasn't his, Slash's or anyone else's fault, but it's clear after that Leo is still upset

With the help of Raph, Karai is able to find April's home where she uses her venom to poison her. When she fights Casey at first he has the upper hand, that is until Raph joins the fight and he hesitates, which Karai uses to her advantage to poison him as well. The turtles get an SOS from Casey, both Mikey and Leo go to investigate and they find Casey, but before they bring him back they are ambushed by Raph, both shocked with how diffrent he looks. They struggle during the fight, not only due to the training Raph had received from Shredder, but don't want to hurt him. During the fight however Mikey gets bitten by one of Karai's snakes, and Raph is able to capture him and Casey. Before he and Karai leave she demands Leo and Donnie to meet them both in the station or else they will kill Casey and Mikey, with no other choice Leo calls Donnie, explains the situation and the two adventure into the station while kirby and Splinter watch over a still poisoned April

The episode largely remains the same at this point with Leo and Donnie bring poisoned from the water, but Leo is able to heal himself with the Healing Hands and fights both karai and Raph, however at one point where Raph has Leo cornered and is a about to strike him but he hesitates, as if his trying to stop himself from hurting him, and Leo notices this. Back at the lair after the others are healed Leo reveals to the others what happened with Raph hesitating, and this gives the others hope that Raph is still in there

Mutanimals episode

ok so this is probably gonna be my biggest change, I'm gonna move Turtles in Time and Tale of The Yokai to take place after The Fortold Trap. In it's place would be an episode focusing on the mutanimals, mainly Slash. The episode would focus on Slash's guilt with what happened in Clash Of The Mutanimals, in his mind if he hadn't tried to ambush Tiger Claw at the docks, none of this wouldn't have happened and raph wouldn't have gotten brainwashed. Now I'm not gonna go into too much detail on this one cause I'm still trying to come up with ideas for it, but the main thing is that the episode would have a Mutanimals vs Raph and Karai fight that hints again of Raph trying to regain control from the mind control worm. Attack Of The Mega Shredder

After finding out that Raph had hesitated in The Deadly Venom and the Mutanimals episode, Shedder has Stockman inject Raph with a serum in order to make the mind control worm inside him stronger. As he and karai watch, Shedder reassures her they they will both get their revenge (though we get hints that karai herself is starting to fight back against the mind control worm) he then orders Bebop and Rocksteady to double the security. Like in the orignal episode the other turtles try to break into Shredder's lair in order to save Raph and Karai as well as get one of the mind control worms, but they end up getting caught and have to retreat, with Donnie being to get his leg broken by Tigerclaw

Leo then tries to sneak into the lair alone but Mikey follows him and Leo eventually let's him join. Again the episode largely remains the same but during the climax while they try to stop the Mega Shredder, Leo and Karai have a one v one. Thoughout the episode Karai was slowly starting to fight back against the worms control, and eventually with the help of Leo reminding her who she is, she is able to spit out the brain worm, and now Karai is back on the heroes side and helps them defeat the Mega Shredder

They bring Karai back, we have a sweet reunion between her and Splinter, and she reveals that Shredder has infected Raph with the serum, making their job to find a cure more difficult. Leo then suggests to Karai that with Shredder being hell bent having her in his clutches, she should temporarily leave New York in order to not get captured again, which she does (explaining her absence for the rest of the season)

The Creeping Doom

This episode is basically the same as the orignal, just without Raph

The Fortold Trap

Here we are, the finale to this arc. The main difference with this episode is obviously instead of Karai, it's Raph who lures the team into a trap (also Casey is here) using his knowledge of his brothers, he lures each of them out into a trap. First Donnie, then Mikey, and finally Leo, Casey and April with the help of Shredder's mutants. When April tries to escape and Raph stops her, she pleades with him to snap out of it, but it falls on deaths ears as it's clear that what Stockman inject into Raph in Attack Of The Mega Shredder is working

He brings them into the trap rooms (with Casey being in the fire room) and while April continues to try and tell Raph to let go and snap out of it, he calls Splinter so he can witness the turtles, April and Casey's demise. With that Splinter basically goes "screw it" and goes to confront him and Shredder's mutants (bringing Raph's Sai's with him) After beating the mutants, we finally get a Raph vs Splinter fight, though its clear that he doesn't want to fight his own son. As the turtles and Casey each break out of their trap rooms with the help of April, Splinter begs Raph to fight back against Shredder's control, and eventually Raph briefly does for a moment. As he does before he can strike, Splinter and Leo together perform the Healing Hands on Raph. Raph stumbles and is about to fall into the rivulet before Donnie and Mikey catch him. And after a brief moment, he finally spits out the brain worm (which Leo quickly kills) he opened his eyes, they're back to normal and he mutters "what did I miss, guys?" With that the Turtles, Splinter, April and Casey group hug him, crying as they are happy to finally have him back. Raph begins profusely apologise for everything that happened, how he almost killed them but they reassure him that what happened wasn't his fault, and that they are just happy to finally have him back after so long. With that they head home, finally a full team and family again

On Turtles in Time and Tale of The Yokai, the episodes basically remain the same, they just take place after The Fortold Trap

2012 TMNT music taste

Anon: Do you have any Headcanon of musical tastes for the characters in TMNT 2012?

A/n: Had a hard time coming up with this, but here are some artists I think the turtles would enjoy!

Leo:

I think generally he would be into a lot of different genres, for some reason I can see him listening to pop music and also grunge. Occasionally those "24 hours of relaxing nature sounds" videos on YouTube.

Some artists I think he would like: Soundgarden, Alice in chains, Deftones, Chappel Roan(this is Canon, idc)

Raph:

Definitely some rap/rock and also metal. Mainly drill and those type of genres.

Some artists I think he would like: Rage against the machine, Asap Rocky, Beatsteaks, Stone temple pilots

Donnie:

Lots of people are saying jazz, however(not saying I don't agree) I'm thinking more R&B and, obviously, techno

Some artists I think he would like: Troop, Mint condition, Alex stain

Mickey:

Hip hop definitely. Also, like leo, some pop added to the mix

Some artists I think he would like: Ice Cube, B.I.G, Cypress Hill, Salt-N-Pepa

PIZZA RAMEN!!!

Wanted to celebrate the upcoming crossover of TMNT and Naruto, hehe. 2012 gave us pizza gyoza, so of COURSE I had to try pizza ramen. It was (possibly surprisingly) really good!! It's cool because it still had a distinctly ramen flavor, not just pizza in ramen shape.

Recipe under the cut, if anyone wants to try it fshaklghkld

BASE

28oz can of diced tomatoes (this could probably be crushed or sauce, too, idk. Or fresh tomatoes)

1 cup of broth (I used chicken broth)

2 Tbsp of miso paste

1 tsp of ginger

1/4 cup of soy sauce

Fresh basil, idk it was like 7 large leaves? Maybe 2 tbsp of chopped-up basil

I basically cooked the tomatoes, soy sauce, and ginger in a soup pot over medium-high or a little bit. This is probably more important if you use fresh tomatoes? Like 2ish minutes, then I added the broth and miso. Brought it to a boil, reduced to a simmer, and cooked it while I did everything else. Added the basil about halfway through.

Thin out with water as needed. I also tried blending the tomatoes, but I was kind of lazy with it. I think next time I'd rather get tomato sauce and then like, a single fresh tomato for some chunks.

Looked like it made enough for 6-8 bowls of ramen? We'll see though :P

TOPPINGS (all optional, but I recommend at least the mozzarella, garlic, and a protein)

Mozzarella (I used the pearls)

Ramen egg (just soft-boiled, marinated in mirin and soy sauce, there's a bunch of recipes online lol)

Roasted garlic cloves (set oven to 400 F. Peel cloves of garlic, put them in aluminum foil with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Scrunch up the top of the aluminum foil to make a little bag. Cook for 20 minutes

Cubed ham steak (just cooked on the stove with a little butter so it was browned)

Pepperoni (also crisped up on the stove)

Sauteed mushrooms (I used shiitake)

Black olives

Sliced green onion
